MONTEK LC TABLETS (Montelukast Sodium) Batch No. EMS0695 Manufactured by: Sun Pharma Laboratories Ltd., East Sikkim Drugs Controller General (India) had issued order to recall as well as market withdrawn of the medicine/drug MONTEK LC TABLETS (Montelukast Sodium). Food & Drugs Control, Sikkim also issued a order to market withdrawn of said medicine/ drug. Please be alert, this medicine may cause harmful effect to you. Uses of Montek LC Tablet:- Montek LC Tablet is used in the treatment of sneezing and runny nose due to allergies. For asthma, the recommended dose of montelukast for adults and adolescents 15 years and older is one 10 mg tablet taken once a day in the evening. For children 6 to 14 years old, the recommended dose is one chewable 5 mg tablet taken once a day in the evening. For children 2 to 5 years old, the recommended dose is one chewable 4 mg tablet or one packet of 4 mg granules taken in the evening. Montelukast can be taken with or without food. The oral granules can be given either directly in the mouth, or mixed with a spoonful of cold or room temperature soft food (e.g., apple sauce). The packet should not be opened until ready to use. After opening the packet, the full dose of oral granules must be given within 15 minutes. Do not store any oral granule and food mixture for later use. Do not mix the oral granules in liquid. Children may drink liquids after swallowing the oral granules. Many things can affect the dose of medication that a person needs, such as body weight, other medical conditions, and other medications. If your doctor has recommended a dose different from the ones listed here, do not change the way that you are taking the medication without consulting your doctor. It is important to take this medication exactly as prescribed by your doctor. If you miss a dose, take it as soon as possible and continue with your regular schedule. If it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and continue with your regular dosing schedule. Do not take a double dose to make up for a missed one. If you are not sure what to do after missing a dose, contact your doctor or pharmacist for advice. Montek LC Tablet side effects:- Nausea, Diarrhoea, Vomiting, Dryness in mouth, Headache, Skin rash, Flu-like symptoms, Fatigue, Sleepiness. How to use Montek LC Tablet:- Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Swallow it as a whole. Do not chew, crush or break it. Montek LC Tablet may be taken with or without food, but it is better to take it at a fixed time. How Montek LC Tablet works:- Montek LC Tablet is a combination of two medicines: Levocetirizine and Montelukast which treat sneezing and runny nose due to allergies. Levocetirizine is an antiallergic which blocks the action a chemical messenger (histamine) responsible for runny nose, watery eyes and sneezing. Montelukast is a leukotriene antagonist. It works by blocking the action of another chemical messenger (leukotriene). This reduces inflammation (swelling) in the airways and nose, and improves symptoms.

Meyer Organics (P) Ltd Acetaminophen : Acetaminophen is a pain reliever and a fever reducer. Acetaminophen is used to treat many conditions such as headache, muscle aches, arthritis, backache, toothaches, colds, and fevers. Acetaminophen may also be used for purposes not listed in this medication guide. An overdose of acetaminophen can damage your liver or cause death. • Adults and teenagers who weigh at least 110 poundsshould not take more than 1000 milligrams (mg) at one time, or more than 4000 mg in 24 hours. • Children younger than 12 years old should not take more than 5 doses in 24 hours, using only the number of milligrams per dose that is recommended for the child's weight and age. Use exactly as directed on the label. Avoid also using other medicines that contain acetaminophen (sometimes abbreviated as APAP), or you could have a fatal overdose. You may not be able to take acetaminophen. Your doctor will determine whether acetaminophen is safe for you to use during pregnancy. Do not use this medicine without the advice of your doctor if you are pregnant. Acetaminophen can pass into breast milk and may harm a nursing baby. Tell your doctor if you are breast-feeding a baby. Do not give this medicine to a child younger than 2 years old without the advice of a doctor. Acetaminophen in taking procedure : Use acetaminophen exactly as directed on the label, or as prescribed by your doctor. Do not use in larger or smaller amounts or for longer than recommended. Do not take more of this medication than is recommended. This medication can cause unusual results with certain lab tests for glucose (sugar) in the urine. Tell any doctor who treats you that you are using acetaminophen. If miss a dose of Acetaminophen ;: Since acetaminophen is taken as needed, you may not be on a dosing schedule. If you are taking the medication regularly, take the missed dose as soon as you remember. Skip the missed dose if it is almost time for your next scheduled dose. Do not take extra medicine to make up the missed dose. Common Dosage for Cefuroxime Axetil The drug dosage and form is decided by the physician based upon: • Age and body weight of the patient • Health status/medical condition of the patient • Disease severity • Reaction to the first dose • History of allergy/drug reactions A typical adult dosage for pharyngitis, tonsillitis, sinusitis, bronchitis, skin structure infections is 250 mg twice daily and for more severe infections, e.g., Pneumonia – 500 mg twice daily. Cefuroxime Axetil tablets are not recommended for infants and children less than 12 years of age. Cefuroxime Axetil Suspensions – The dose depends on the weight of the child. Your doctor or pharmacist will tell you exactly how many teaspoonful or 5 mL measures of the liquid suspension your child must take. Precautions – When to Avoid Cefuroxime Axetil? • Cefuroxime Axetil doesn’t work in case of viral infections (such as flu, common cold)). Unnecessary use of antibiotic must be avoided because it decreases its efficacy. • Cefuroxime Axetil should be avoided in patients with previous allergic reactions to cefuroxime, cephalosporin, penicillin, or other drugs. • Aspartame present in Cefuroxime Axetil suspension is a source of phenylalanine and therefore it should not be used in patients suffering from phenylketonuria. • Cefuroxime Axetil should not be used in patients with a history of cephalosporin-associated hemolytic anaemia. • The use of Cefuroxime Axetil should be avoided in patients suffering from gastrointestinal disease, particularly colitis. • Cefuroxime Axetil should be avoided if you are having a urine test for sugar. False positive reactions may occur. • Cefuroxime Axetil should be avoided if you are diabetic. CEFTIN Suspension contains sugar (about 3 g/5 mL). • Cefuroxime Axetil should be avoided if you are pregnant or planning to become pregnant. • Cefuroxime Axetil should be avoided if you are breastfeeding or planning to breastfeed. Cefuroxime is excreted in human breast milk. Common side effects of cefuroxime Tablets Diarrhea, nausea, vomiting, loose stools. Reports of abdominal pain have occurred. • Clostridium Difficile-Associated Disease (CDAD) has been reported with use of many antibacterial agents including Cefuroxime Axetil. • Transient increases of liver enzyme levels [ALT, AST, LDH]. • Headache and dizziness • Allergic reactions – Rashes, itching, or shortness of breath may occur. • As with other cephalosporins, there have been rare reports of drug fever. Decreased hemoglobin, and very rarely a faster breakdown of red blood cells leading to a form of anemia (hemolytic anemia) with symptoms such as fatigue, shortness of breath and looking pale can occur. Additionally, drowsiness, infections in vagina and transient increases in serum bilirubin, creatinine, alkaline phosphatase, and urea nitrogen van occur as side-effects with injectable forms of Cefuroxime Axetil. Effects of Cefuroxime Axetil on Organs? • Effects on liver have been reported. Symptoms of liver damage include – o Jaundice (yellowing of the eyes and skin) o Pain in the stomach o Nausea o Vomiting o Fever o Severe tiredness o Dark urine o Increased levels of liver enzymes • In patients suffering from kidney diseases, the dosage of Cefuroxime Axetil should be decreased.

It works by facilitating intracapsular cataract extraction and reducing trauma to the eye. Chymoral Forte is used to treat following conditions: • Edema (swelling), especially that caused by inflammation (e.g. swelling of the gums or swelling of the tooth).This drug is a highly effective in the treatment of swelling and can quickly reduce edema. • Treatment of hematomas (a solid swelling of clotted blood within the tissues) • After surgical trauma. • Chymoral Forte is used to treat necrotic tissue. • Recommended to use for treating inflammatory pelvic. • Chymoral Forte is recommended to treat chronic respiratory conditions. • Chymoral Forte reduces viscosity of mucus, thus facilitating its elimination. • This medicine is used to treat different types of joint and muscle injuries, accompanied by swelling. • Your Gynecologist may prescribe this medicine after the surgeries like cesarean section or hysterectomy which is uterus removal. • Used to treat sciatica Precausion of Chymoral Forte (Trypsin & Chymotrypsin):- Chymoral Forte should be avoided in patients allergic to trypsin or chymotrypsin or other similar enzymes. Also, it should not be used concomitant with alcoholic beverages. Dose of Chymoral Forte (Trypsin & Chymotrypsin):- It needs to be taken on an empty stomach (usually 1-2 hours before taking food). It should be taken as soon as possible after symptoms of the swelling appear, because then this drug has shown best efficacy. The dose depends on the severity of the condition. In severe conditions doctor may recommend you to take two pills of this medicine three times a day. After stabilization, the dose may be reduced to one pill of Chymoral Forte four times a day. It has to be used concomitant with appropriate antibiotics, to treat bacterial infections. Chymoral Forte tablets should always be used 1-2 hours before taking food, with a full glass of water. Swallow the tablets whole (do not crush them or chew them). You need to use this drug for as long as your doctor tells you to. It usually takes 10 days until the swelling completely disappears. It alos should be avoided in combination with alcoholic beverages because it increases the risk of side effects.
