Call 847-742-3906 Please Visit http://www.SouthElginVet.com I am Dr. Churan from the Animal Clinic of South Elgin, 896 North La Fox Street, South Elgin, IL 60177. This is my assistant Jenny and this is Arwin, one of our clinic dogs and she is a great dane. Arwin is frequently here at the clinic. Today we want to talk about heartworms. Heartworm is a blood parasite spread by mosquitoes thru your dog's bloodstream. When an infected mosquito bites your dog it injects a microscopic parasite to your dog's bloodstream. Within a period of 5 months it can grow up to a foot, lodges into your dog's heart and could kill your dog. During our annual Cat Wellness Examinations and Dog Wellness Examinations we test for parasite infections. We also may recommend a pet teeth cleaning. Heartworm Pet Meds are easy prevention. It is very easy to prevent this, however, by a once-a-month medication. Your canine needs to be tested annually and the reason for this is that it is very safe to kill the tiny microscopic heartworms that the mosquitoes are putting into your best furry friend; however, your canine could have an adult heartworm due to your canine not getting any heartworm medication at all, missing a dose due to one reason or another, the animal vomiting the medication after a scheduled dose, or the patient not receiving a dose because of a misunderstanding among the various owners. This leaves a window of opportunity where your pet could get infected. Heartworm Pet Meds require an annual blood test. Therefore, it is very important that your dog gets tested once a year, even if you have been giving the medication faithfully. The reason for this is if we kill an adult heartworm, it can clog the great vessels of the heart and your beloved pet could drop dead. This sudden death which could not be completely explained is something we never want to happen. Heartworm Pet Meds Blood Tests includes Lyme Disease Test. A internal parasite blood test that we do here at the Animal Clinic of South Elgin also tests for lyme disease and other tick diseases which are other emerging parasite problems in canine population. These are treatable diseases if we catch them early before permanent damage is done. For heartworm preventatives, we have a variety of brands which do many different things. The most basic e is a once-a-month pill that you give your dog to control this and 2 kinds of intestinal parasites. We have upgrade pills that take care of this parasite and 3 kinds of intestinal parasites. We also have Sentinel which has an additional ingredient that prevents fleas as well as take care of this and 3 kinds of intestinal parasites. That is our most popular preventative in this practice. Anybody who ever had fleas has found that it is easier to prevent flea infestation than treat the infestation itself. Giving your dog a pill once a month is easy compared to getting rid of the fleas in your household. We also have a topical heartworm preventative that you spray on the back of the dog's head. The reason some people choose this type is that some dogs do not cooperate when it comes to taking oral medication. Heartworm Pet Meds are also needed for cats. Cats could get infected by heartworms as well, although much less common than dogs. When cats get infected by this blood-based parasite, it is much more severe because cats are small and their hearts are also small. One worm could kill a cat. Cats have lung pathology rather than heart pathology so they develop asthma-type symptoms. This fatal parasite is also very preventable in cats by oral or topical medication once a month. Again, preventive measures, just like in people, are far better and easier than treatment after the infection. Heartowm Pet Meds are much cheaper than treatment. Heartworm can be treated. If your dog tested positive for this fatal parasite, he can be treated. The treatment, however, is not only expensive but also hard on the dog in the sense that the dog could be sick for a 6-week period. Preventing a possible permanent damage to your dog from internal parasites is a far better goal than treatment. We recommend preventative medications 12 months of the year since mosquito seasons are unpredictable. There is no season to intestinal parasites, however, so it is important to control these parasites year-round. In short, parasite prevention is a very good choice for your family and your dog. http://acse60177.vetinzip.com/veterinary-advice/heartworm-pet-meds/

Learn how to recognize Deep vein and Superficial vein thrombosis and what to expect.BLOOD CLOTS -- HOW TO RECOGNIZE 1)Superficial-reddness, mild burning if along the Saphenous vein. Other surface veins may have a visible or palpable lump usually feels like a hard cord or pencil under the skin. Could continue into a DVT You can expect to be put on coumadin and will have only minor impairment if at all. It can be deceptively symptom free until the entire Saphenous vein becomes like a cord most of the way from your thigh down to the ankle. You most likely will not experience any leg swelling but you should see the vein become more prominent and then become hardened. 2)Deep vein-If in calf, dorsa flex the foot. If sharp pain then suspect thrombosis. 3)Deep vein- If between the thigh and knee-Femoral vein Can be difficult to detect at first because it tends to become established before symptoms develop. Symptoms may present as a lower muscle pain or pulled groin muscle. Further these pains may not always be present. They can be intermittent at first misleading you into thinking it's just a pulled muscle.Experience feelings of fluid build up upon standing and weakness in Quads at first . Later a feeling of dizzyness AFTER mild exertion. A craving for sweets for energy. DO NOT attempt to treat with anti-inflammatory NSAIDs like Aleve or Ibuprofen. Tylenol okay to use. Take a couple of aspirin a day until you have a chance to get to a doctor's offc. Do the pinch test to see if you are dehydrated...if skin does not snap back immediately start drinking fluids now. One you first feeling fluid building up and/or dizzyness upon standing you are probably within three days of requiring admission to the ER at the hospital. You will know you have reached a critical stage when your thigh muscles become weak, feel more and more pressure each time you stand and you feel dizzy after walking just a few yards. At this point you must go to the ER but try to have a bowel movement and pee before you go....you probably won't be able to for the next week or so. Just the physical swelling will cause that.DO THESE THINGS RIGHT NOW (TODAY) BEFORE GOING TO THE HOSPITAL FIRST THING: Laxative-If you even think you may have a thrombosis-Start immediately on either All-Bran cereal or Mira-Lax with each meal SECOND THING: Plan ahead-Transport (911=$900)/meals, grocery shopping, business now SECOND THING: Buy a pair of thigh high compression stockings 20-30mm Hg-no Rx nec. WHAT TO EXPECT: At the ER they will put an IV line in you to keep fluids going into your body. Your leg diameter will continue to swell for the next few days. Be sure you ask for a doppler to confirm thrombosis. Your pain levels will increase...you won't be able to walk but a few meters without passing out from orthostatic hypotension. If you are on diuretics for BP CONTINUE THEM. ASK THE HOSPITAL DOC (DAY 1) IF YOU CAN HAVE SOMEONE BRING YOU 20-30 mm thigh high COMPRESSION STOCKINGS FOR IMMEDIATE USE. You will need measurements of your ankle, calf, and thigh at the widest part. You will only use these until about two or three weeks after you get home then order some stockings at 30-40mm for the next 4-6weeks and then go to 40-50mm. As soon as you can (when the 30-40mm began to stretch and lose compression. The hospital may give you some short knee high compression socks which are useless and just slow your progress or they may use a machine with a pressure cuff to stimulate circulation---they usually don't get the cuff adjusted tight enough to do any good....take some control here and do it yourself. Each day, Ask your hospital doc if your vital signs have returned to normal (such as kidney function). If so then don't let the hospital keep putting IV fluid into your body...that just makes your leg feel like it is going to burst plus it makes it almost physically impossible for you to use the toilet in your room no matter where it is. They will argue the IV is for your benefit. Tolerate what you can but take control. You will also feel your upper body begin to retain fluid as well. This will also make going to the toilet a lot more difficult. Until you can get the fluid in your body down (ask doc to use lasix for that) you will be in great pain and pretty immobile and severely constipated and unable to pee. You will be put on Coumadin or Warfarin accompanied with a few shots of Lovenox injections for about ten days. The Coumadin you may be on forever. You will also be given medication for pain.

About Richard La Ruina : CEO and founder of Pua Training, author of The Natural Art of Seduction, Richard 'Gambler' La Ruina before age 21 was a painfully shy introvert with terrible social skills, who got called ugly by girls and had low self-esteem. He stayed awake at night and wondered if he'd ever be able to find a girlfriend. He has spent the past 6 years working on every aspect of his character, including skills with women. People from his youth no longer recognize him and people that meet him can't believe he wasn't always a "natural" -- both socially and with women. Any success or ability that he possesses, he has had to work for. Because he has gone from zero to hero, he knows the steps necessary and this is what makes his teaching so effective. Pak Pak Pakaak | Full Movie | Nana Patekar | Usha Nadkarni | Latest Marathi Movie. Pak Pak Pakaak is a Marathi movie about a small naughty boy and a supposedly ghost living in a forest. The story is conceptualized by Sai Paranjpe and is very similar to her 2001 movie 'Bhaago Bhoot'. The story is of a parent-less little boy, chiklu who plays pranks on everybody in the village. His old grandmother is also fed up with his activities that she resorts to punish him now and then. The village is surrounded by a big forest which inhabits a ghost named as ?bhootya?. The villagers are afraid to venture into the forest alone in the fear that they will be harmed by bhootya. Bhootya is actually a herbal doctor living in isolation from the society. He has been wronged and his wife killed which makes him loose hope and trust in humanity.Chiklu while playing another prank on his teacher ventures into the jungle to find he facing Bhootya. After some confrontation, Chiklu and Bhootya accept each other. Bhootya teaches Chiklu to be good and Chiklu convinces him to come back to the society which he had shunned long back. Just as Chiklu changes, he understands the changing attitude of others toward him. He understands that earlier people who had cursed him were appreciative of his behaviour. The journey of Chiklu from being a naughty brat to a nice well-mannered boy is what constitutes the rest of the movie. In spite of having a small boy as a central character, it cannot be termed as a children's film. I would call it rather a fun film to be enjoyed by everybody. Celebrated novelist Foer (Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close, 2005, etc.) examines the ethics and practical realities of eating things with faces. The book is a surprising but characteristically brilliant memoir-investigation, boasting an exhaustively-argued account of one man's decade-long struggle with vegetarianism. On the eve of becoming a father, Foer takes all the arguments for and against vegetarianism a neurotic step beyond and, to decide how to feed his coming baby, investigates everything from the intelligence level of our most popular meat providers-cattle, pigs, and poultry-to the specious self-justifications (his own included) for eating some meat products and not others. Foer offers a lighthearted counterpoint to his investigation in doting portraits of his loving grandmother, and her meat-and-potatoes comfort food, leaving him to wrestle with the comparative weight of food's socio-cultural significance and its economic-moral-political meaning. Without pulling any punches-factory farming is given the full expose treatment as well. Foer combines an array of facts, astutely-written anecdotes, and his furious, inward-spinning energy to make a personal, highly entertaining take on an increasingly visible, moral question. Interview conducted by Eileen Hurst. Busha enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corps on September 1, 1943. He chose the Marine Corps because of its reputation for "being the best", according to Busha. After basic training on Parris Island (SC), Busha went on to be a rifle instructor for incoming recruits at the camp. After 6 months of instructor duty, he was transferred to Camp Lejeune and Camp Pendleton for additional training. In April of 1945, he was shipped to Okinawa where he fought on the front lines in the "Battle of Okinawa", the bloodiest battle in Pacific during World War II. Busha describes in detail what the Marines endured on the front lines in Okinawa. After Okinawa, his platoon was sent to Guam to prepare for an invasion of Japan, however the bomb was dropped on Nagasaki before he was sent in. Busha finished out his time in the Marine Corps as part of a brig detachment in Tsingtao, China. He was sent home in the spring of 1946. On the train ride to Maryland, where he was to be discharged, his car derailed and killed or injured many of the marines aboard the train. He returned to New York for a time, but eventually moved to Connecticut where he worked at Bristol Brass for many years, becoming a member and leader in the United Auto Workers Union. He was later named Deputy Labor Commissioner in Connecticut because of his work with the union. He still keeps in touch with members of his squad through reunions and the division newsletter.
