Stress Can Lead to Illness & Diabetes Mellitus: Dr. Romie on Fox 35 News Orlando

1. Can you tell us what the normal risk factors are to lead to Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus? • Type 2 or Insulin Dependent Diabetes Mellitus is an endemic problem in the United States. • Risk factors are typically obesity, large waist circumference, genetics and sedentary lifestyle. • Recently published research studies indicate one factor can trump all of these factors, and this is stress. • Research published in the journal Psychosomatic Medicine last September found that those under extreme pressure at work were 45 per cent more likely to develop Diabetes than those under minimal pressure. The results were based on a 13-year study of 5,000 men and women. 2. How can stress cause Diabetes? • Research published in the journal Psychosomatic Medicine last September found that those under extreme pressure at work were 45 per cent more likely to develop Diabetes than those under minimal pressure. The results were based on a 13-year study of 5,000 men and women. • One theory is that under stress the hormone cortisol may also alter the body's sensitivity to insulin. • Initially insulin levels are high in stress- this is the reason we crave sugars and carbohydrates when we are under physical or emotional stress. • But when the stress is prolonged, we deplete insulin and then risk of developing Diabetes increases Romila “Dr. Romie” Mushtaq, M.D., ABIHM, is a traditionally trained neurologist with additional board certification in integrative medicine. Causes & Treatment Of Type 2 Diabetes - Manipal Hospital

08:44
What is Type 2 Diabetes? Type 2 diabetes is a condition in which your body has high blood sugar. How does your blood sugar rise? If you have insulin resistance, your insulin cannot unlock the cells to let glucose in, because the locks called the receptors are abnormal or missing. As a result, glucose is locked out up of your cells. Consequently, the amount of glucose builds up in the blood stream in a condition called hyperglycaemia. How do we lose the ability to create insulin? To compensate for hyperglycaemia, your pancreas produces more and more insulin. Your over worked beta cells try to keep up with the demand but gradually lose their capability to produce enough insulin. If you don’t receive treatment for hyperglycaemia, it can result in diabetic ketoacidosis as there will be a shortage of insulin in the body. Over time, chronic poorly controlled Type 2 diabetes can cause degenerative tissue damage resulting in long-term complications such as atherosclerosis, blindness, neuropathy, heart attack and renal failure. Diabetes and heart disease have a high rate of correlation. Watch the video to know more about the causes, symptoms, diabetes attack and high blood sugar treatment. Diabetes: Complications and Risks

04:02
Endocrinologist Roger Chen outlines the complications and risk factors associated with diabetes. Make sure to see your GP if you experience any symptoms listed that may indicate diabetes. Over time persistent high blood glucose levels (BGLs) can damage the body’s organs. This damage is referred to as diabetes related complications. While these complications are serious and can be life threatening, with appropriate lifestyle changes and attention to blood glucose control, people with diabetes can substantially reduce the risk of these complications. How does poor oral health impact a person with diabetes or heart disease?

01:49
http://www.DannaSmile.com Sue, DannaSmile Registered Dental Assistant explains: As a diabetic, you have an increased risk of bacterial infections which can lead to serious problems if left untreated. We want to know that your blood sugar is under control because poor glucose control and affect your teeth and gums. Diabetics are also at a higher risk for gum disease. You may wonder how your blood sugar levels and your gums could possibly be connected. Let me explain...The bacteria that live in your mouth love sugar. People with diabetes often have higher levels of sugar in their body, which means that the bacteria in their mouth have more sugar to work with and can cause more damage. In addition diabetes can lower your immune system's ability to fight infection and cause you to heal more slowly. The bacteria in your mouth can lead to infection and left untreated can end up destroying bone and gum tissue in your mouth. So let's talk a little about heart disease and strokes. While those with diabetes have to deal with the impact of diabetes on their oral health, some bacteria in your mouth can actually contribute to plaque buildup in the arteries which may lead to heart disease or stroke. I want to be clear that plaque buildup on your teeth is completely different that plaque in your arteries...not all plaque is alike. Gum disease can also exacerbate existing heart conditions. Patients at risk for infective endocarditis may require antibiotics prior to dental procedures. We work closely with our patients' physicians to ensure we are providing the best preventive dentistry. Your overall health and well-being are our top priority. We look forward to seeing you at your next dental appointment. If you have decided to make a change in your dental professional we would love to have the opportunity to serve you. Please call our office and our team will be happy to assist you!

Coronary Artery Blockage: Symptoms, Diagnosis and Treatment

02:26
Not all coronary blockage presents with the most common symptom of chest pain. For example, some patients, particularly those who are diabetic or female, may suffer from upset stomach, dizziness or pain in their back, jaw or shoulders, says Talal Attar, MD, FACC. Blockages may be initially diagnosed with non-invasive procedures, like a stress test or EKG. However, if there is an abnormal stress test or if suspicion of blockage is high, heart catheterization may be required. Dr. Attar explains that when blockage discovered is mild, no intervention is necessary, other than control of risk factors. When blockage is more severe—80% or higher—intervention is needed. Can Diabetic Retinopathy Be Reversed?

05:26
The reversal of blindness due to hypertension and diabetes with Dr. Kempner’s rice and fruit diet demonstrates the power of diet to exceed the benefits of the best modern medicine and surgery has to offer. Subscribe to Dr. Greger’s free nutrition newsletter at https://www.nutritionfacts.org/subscribe and get a free recipe from his new HOW NOT TO DIE COOKBOOK. (All proceeds Dr. Greger receives from the sales of his books, DVDs, and speaking engagements go to support the 501c3 nonprofit that runs NutritionFacts.org.) I documented the extraordinary Kempner story previously in Kempner Rice Diet: Whipping Us Into Shape (http://nutritionfacts.org/video/Kempner-Rice-Diet-Whipping-Us-Into-Shape) and Drugs and the Demise of the Rice Diet (http://nutritionfacts.org/video/drugs-and-the-demise-of-the-rice-diet/). The reason I keep coming back to this is not to suggest people should go on such a diet (it is too extreme and potentially dangerous to do without strict medical supervision), but to show the power of dietary change to yield tremendous healing effects. The best way to prevent diabetic blindness is to prevent or reverse the diabetes in the first place. See, for example: • Lifestyle Medicine Is the Standard of Care for Prediabetes (http://nutritionfacts.org/video/lifestyle-medicine-is-the-standard-of-care-for-prediabetes/) • How to Prevent Prediabetes from Turning into Diabetes (http://www.nutritionfacts.org/video/how-to-prevent-prediabetes-from-turning-into-diabetes) • Plant-Based Diets and Diabetes (http://nutritionfacts.org/video/plant-based-diets-and-diabetes/) Why wouldn’t a diet of white rice make diabetes worse? See If White Rice is Linked to Diabetes, What About China? (http://nutritionfacts.org/video/if-white-rice-is-linked-to-diabetes-what-about-china/) For more on the nitty gritty on what is the actual cause of type 2 diabetes, see: • What Causes Insulin Resistance? Read more on him here http://www.dresselstyn.com/site/about/about-dr-esselstyn/ Heart Disease: Scope and Impact: *Heart disease (which includes Heart Disease, Stroke and other Cardiovascular Diseases) is the No. 1 cause of death in the United States, killing nearly 787,000 people alone in 2011. *Heart disease is the leading cause of death for people of most racial/ethnic groups in the United States, including African Americans, Hispanics and Whites. For Asian Americans or Pacific Islanders and American Indians or Alaska Natives, heart disease is second only to cancer.Heart Disease Scope and Impact Photo Cardiovascular diseases claim more lives than all forms of cancer combined. *Coronary heart disease is the most common type of heart disease, killing nearly 380,000 people annually. In the United States, someone has a heart attack every 34 seconds. Every 60 seconds, someone in the United States dies from a heart disease-related event. *About 720,000 people in the U.S. suffer heart attacks each year. Of these, 515,000 are a first heart attack and 205,000 happen in people who have already had a heart attack. *In 2011, about 326,200 people experienced out-of-hospital cardiac arrests in the United States. Of those treated by emergency medical services, 10.6 percent survived. Of the 19,300 bystander-witnessed out-of-hospital cardiac arrests in the same year, 31.4 percent survived. *Direct and indirect costs of heart disease total more than $320.1 billion. That includes health expenditures and lost productivity. Women & Heart Disease *Heart disease is the No. 1 killer of women, and is more deadly than all forms of cancer combined. *While 1 in 31 American women dies from breast cancer each year, 1 in 3 dies of heart disease.Women-and-Heart-Disease-Image Heart disease causes 1 in 3 women’s deaths each year, killing approximately one woman every minute. *Only 1 in 5 American women believe that heart disease is her greatest health threat. *An estimated 43 million women in the U.S. are affected by heart disease. Ninety percent of women have one or more risk factors for developing heart disease. Since 1984, more women than men have died each year from heart disease. The symptoms of heart disease can be different in women and men, and are often misunderstood. Women and men are not the same when it comes to heart disease. 1. Stem Cell Treatment Heart Disease Cardiac Cell Replacement Therapy for CAD,PAD CHF

04:37
Stem cell therapy for cardiac disease and heart failure offer a safe new alternative to heart surgery using cardiomyocyte cell regeneration as a therapeutic strategies repair and reverse coronary heart disease & congestive heart failure. https://stemcellthailand.org/therapies/congestive-heart-failure-chf/ The human heart is vital to life and each day pumps about 2,100 gallons of oxygen-rich blood through our bodies. If the heart gets damaged and is not able to pump blood properly, the patient gets diagnosed with heart disease or congestive heart failure. Heart disease is a progressive and persistent condition that worsens and can lead to death. When a myocardial infarction (heart attack) or coronary artery disease damages the normal function of the heart, the patient normally requires invasive surgery to try to correct. Before stem cell Treatments were available, heart failure & cardiovascular diseases required stents to bypass the blockage. cardiopoietic Stem cells have made the treatment much safer by using enhanced mesenchymal cells to provide an anti-inflammatory effects, reduce the size of the scar tissue and, prevent further cell death (apoptosis) and grow new blood vessels in and around the heart in a process known as angiogenesis. Heart Conditions treatable with stem cells in 2018 include: • Heart Disease - https://stemcellthailand.org/therapies/heart-disease-myocardial-ischemia-chd/ • Acute Myocardial Infarction • Ischemic Cardiomyopathy • Ischemic Cardiac Insufficiency • Ischemic Dilated Cardiomyopathy • Angina Pectoris Refractory • PAD (Peripheral Artery Disease) • CAD (Coronary Artery Disease) • Stem Cell Therapy for Angina • Myocarditis (inflammation of heart muscle) • Heart valve issues • Non-Ischemic Dilated Cardiomyopathy • Stem Cell therapy for Heart Attacks Heart failure does not mean the heart stopped working. Cardiac arrest (complete stoppage of heart) is a completely different diagnosis from heart failure. The diagnosis, symptoms and treatment of CHF,PAD and CAD using stem cells will vary case by case based on the patient-specific needs and medical history. Stem Cell transplants for heart failure and heart disease is not appropriate for all patients. To learn more please contact us below. Sugar (Diabetes) and BP controlled in Nadipathy

01:20
Sugar (Diabetes) and BP controlled in Nadipathy DIABETES TREATMENT IN NADIPATHY WHAT IS DIABETES: It is the condition that body cannot balance the glucose levels due to lack of energy to pancreas (or) the body cannot utilize insulin to maintain glucose homeostasis. It was first known in the 17th century, later it became a dangerous devil to human life. Again Diabetes is differentiated in to two types’ diabetes mellitus and diabetes insipidus. Diabetes mellitus is mainly caused by deficiency of insulin due to either lack of energy in pancreas (or) any auto-immune disease. While diabetes insipidus is caused by defect in secretion of vasopressin (Antidiuretic hormone) which is secreted from pituitary gland present in hypothalamus. Its function is to reabsorb water from distal tubules in the kidney and due to this it control the concentration of urine. But its deficiency caused increased water excretion through urine even in low intake of water. Diabetes mellitus and diabetes insipidus are unrelated, although they have similar signs and symptoms like excessive thirst and excessive urination. Diabetes mellitus is more common than the Diabetes insipidus. DIABETES MELLITUS: There are mainly three types of Diabetes mellitus. TYPE 1 DIABETES: The body does not produce insulin due to dis-function of pancreas. Such diabetes called as insulin dependent diabetes. People usually develop type-1 diabetes before their 40th year often in early adulthood (or) teenage years. Today type 1 diabetes has no proper treatment in all over the world. So these individuals are insulin dependent to rest of their life. Approximately 23 % of all diabetes cases are type 1. GESTATION DIABETES: This type of diabetes usually occurs in pregnant mothers during gestation (pregnancy) period. So there is an increase in high blood sugar in pregnant mother. Most gestational diabetes goes away after child birth, but it does put you at higher risk of developing type 2 diabetes later. COMMON SYMPTOMS OF GESTATION DIABETES: ü Increased urination ü Fatigue (or) tiredness ü Increased thirst ü Nausea and vomiting ü Blurred vision ü Weight loss ü Hormonal imbalance ü Head aches ü Body pain DIABETES INSIPIDUS: The several forms of diabetes insipidus are: Nadipathy: Nadipathy introduced new treatment to all diabetes without using any medicines. It is the natural treatment, that re-strength the pancreas to produce insulin in our body. We are using 100 ancient therapies to enhance the pancreas function normally. Nadipathy treated the subtle body; it will make physical body healthy. Nadipathy treated more than 15,000 diabetes patients without using any medicines. We treated hereditary patients to stop the chance to get diabetes. In our research we find that due to lack of energy to pancreas, it does not work properly to produce insulin in the body. So we are giving sufficient energy to pancreas through certain Nadi’s present in our body. When the body becomes weak due to any sudden incident or due to food habits or due to changes in the nature. If any one of the Nadi not working properly it multiplies gradually ( i.e. 1, 2, 4,8, 16, 32, 64, 128 .. .. .. ) .decreases its energy .That reflects gradually In the subtle body and it change as disease on the Physical body.Modern Doctors can recognize diseases only at this stage. Our body is making up with 72,000 Nadi’s, all the Nadi’s are inter-linked to every organ function. If there is any blockage to such Nadi, it does not work properly. So those organs get lack of energy to function normally. Before to the treatment, Nadipathy treats on the root cause of particular Nadi blockage through pulse diagnosis. We treat diabetes related problems like weak eye sight, heart problems, kidney problems, surgery wounds, neurological problems etc... But it depends up on the patient’s subtle body. The treatment results can see within 5 – 16 sittings. Once the problem is cured with our treatment, the diabetes does not appear in their lifetime. It is the safe treatment who needs to cure the diabetes problem. NADIPATHY Centers: Global Center: NADIPATHY Ramanayya peta, Kakinada, E.G.Dt, Andhra Pradesh, INDIA. Researchers say it'll soon account for more than half of the world's heart disease patients. Poor lifestyle is blamed, but experts also believe it's caused by a genetic mutation found almost exclusively in people from South Asia. STORYLINE: Lakshmi Narayana is having an heart bypass operation for a blocked artery. He is not under general anaesthetic. It's being done by Dr Vivek Jawali, Chief Cardiovascular Surgeon here at the Wockhardt Heart Institute in Mumbai. Dr. Jawali sutures (stitches) the artery and bypasses the blockage . Each day he operates on between six and thirteen patients each day. Narayana is a diabetic with blood pressure problems. He's just 44 year-old and he's a vegetarian, but he's among more than two and a half million Indians who'll need heart surgery this year. In cardiac centres all across India, surgeons are performing a record number of heart operations. Alcohol Use After Bariatric Surgery - Dr. Matthew Weiner explains the science.

10:47
Will alcohol decrease my potential to lose weight after Bariatric Surgery? Will surgery increase my desire to drink? Does pre-operative use affect post-operative results? Dr. Weiner explains the most recent science on the subject of alcohol use and offers advice on the appropriate use of alcohol after Bariatric Surgery. Dr. Matthew Weiner is an author and surgeon who specializes in the treatment of obesity. His view on obesity differs from the traditional understanding of calorie balance driving weight loss and weight gain. Dr. Weiner offers both surgical and non-surgical programs in his office and on his website www.poundofcureweightloss.com. His book, A Pound of Cure, details how to change your diet to mimic the changes that occur directly after undergoing bariatric surgery and produce lifetime weight loss. For more information call his office at 248-413-2670. Or check out his website www.poundofcureweightloss.com Or, log onto www.drmatthewweiner.com On Facebook: www.facebook.com/APoundofCure
