Exploring the Bible

01:05
https://timberdoodle.com/products/exploring-the-bible When our children were young, Bible devotionals for their age group were nearly non-existent. Those that were available were either too overwhelming or too watered down, so we were forced to cobble together a program that satisfied our desire that our kids would develop the habit of daily Bible reading. If only we’d had access to Exploring the Bible: A Bible Reading Plan in those days! Exploring the Bible: A Bible Reading Plan for Kids has made it easy for today’s involved parent. The author, David Murray’s experience with his own children helped him write a book that could be used daily, incorporating the optimum amount of verses each day. Substantive but not overwhelming, Exploring the Bible: A Bible Reading Plan for Kids picks out the central portions throughout the Bible that give children an overall view of the whole Bible and the plan of redemption. This 365-day plan will guide your children through key passages from Genesis to Revelation. Each week starts with a short overview, a place to note any prayer requests, and a space to write out that week’s memory verse. Each day your child will read a kid-sized portion of scripture and then either answer a question or write out a verse. Sundays are set aside for reinforcing the big picture, and to jot down the sermon text, title, and a few notes. Your child won’t read every verse in the Bible, but he will hit all the highlights and gain an all-round exposure to the big picture, how the different books relate to one another and to our lives. Exploring the Bible: A Bible Reading Plan for Kids is an unmatched tool for leading your children into that holy habit of being in God's Word each day.

DAY 2 - TUES (GENESIS 6-10) READ THROUGH THE BIBLE IN ONE YEAR

14:54
READ THROUGH THE BIBLE IN ONE YEAR with me. This reading plan is from Mon-Fri every week with a break on the weekends. We will cover 5 chapters a day beginning in Genesis through Revelation. I have read through the Bible in many different translations, but I haven't read it entirely out loud before...until now! I don't pretend to be a Hebrew or Greek scholar, so I know my pronunciation will be incorrect and at times comedic, especially in the lists of genealogies. Please forgive me in advance, and join me if you dare! I will be reading the OT in the NASB translation, will jump to the Passion Translation for Psalms and Proverbs and then onto one of my favorite translations of the NT; The Wuest Translation. I LOVE THE WORD!!

Daily Bible Reading 04 January 2018 of Catholic Mass

03:12
Daily Bible Reading 04 January 2018 of Catholic Mass January 4, 2018 Memorial of Saint Elizabeth Ann Seton, Religious Lectionary: 207 Reading 11 JN 3:7-10 Children, let no one deceive you. The person who acts in righteousness is righteous, just as he is righteous. Whoever sins belongs to the Devil, because the Devil has sinned from the beginning. Indeed, the Son of God was revealed to destroy the works of the Devil. No one who is begotten by God commits sin, because God's seed remains in him; he cannot sin because he is begotten by God. In this way, the children of God and the children of the Devil are made plain; no one who fails to act in righteousness belongs to God, nor anyone who does not love his brother. Responsorial PsalmPS 98:1, 7-8, 9 R. (3cd) All the ends of the earth have seen the saving power of God. Sing to the LORD a new song, for he has done wondrous deeds; His right hand has won victory for him, his holy arm. R. All the ends of the earth have seen the saving power of God. Let the sea and what fills it resound, the world and those who dwell in it; Let the rivers clap their hands, the mountains shout with them for joy before the LORD. R. All the ends of the earth have seen the saving power of God. The LORD comes; he comes to rule the earth; He will rule the world with justice and the peoples with equity. R. All the ends of the earth have seen the saving power of God. AlleluiaHEB 1:1-2 R. Alleluia, alleluia. In the past God spoke to our ancestors through the prophets; in these last days, he has spoken to us through the Son. R. Alleluia, alleluia. GospelJN 1:35-42 John was standing with two of his disciples, and as he watched Jesus walk by, he said, "Behold, the Lamb of God." The two disciples heard what he said and followed Jesus. Jesus turned and saw them following him and said to them, "What are you looking for?" They said to him, "Rabbi" (which translated means Teacher), "where are you staying?" He said to them, "Come, and you will see." So they went and saw where he was staying, and they stayed with him that day. It was about four in the afternoon. Andrew, the brother of Simon Peter, was one of the two who heard John and followed Jesus. He first found his own brother Simon and told him, "We have found the Messiah," which is translated Christ. Then he brought him to Jesus. Jesus looked at him and said, "You are Simon the son of John; you will be called Cephas," which is translated Peter.

New Poll: How Do Americans View and Read the Bible? II VFNtv II

17:03
New Poll: How Americans View and Read the Bible? -http://VFNKB.com As the Christian Post is reporting, LifeWay Research has recently released a study on how Americans respond to the Bible and what their thoughts are. According to the study, “1 in 5 Americans have read the Bible all the way through.” After graduating high school, some people never pick up another book again. Some people look at the Bible like every book imaginable, thinking it’s the same. But the Bible is a living book. It’s the only one that comes with the Author. As the study continues, “10% are not reading any of the Bible at all, 13% only a few sentences; 12% almost all of it”. Truth is, most Americans don’t know the story of the Bible simply because they do not pick it up. Ironically enough, “9 out of 10 homes have a Bible, with the average being 3 Bibles in the home”. It seems as if more people were hungry for the Bible when they didn’t have it. Now, with the abundant blessings of having the entire Word of God at our fingertips, it is like information overload. Stories have been told of a man only having a single page of the Bible and winning multiple people to the Lord by speaking to them from this one page of the Bible. When this man encounters a pastor with the entire Bible, he is shocked as he says to him, “You must have won MANY people to the Lord!” This is such a convicting reality. What are we doing with the blessing of the Word that God has given us? While it is a momentous occasion when the Green family, the founders of Hobby Lobby, who have the largest collection of Biblical items, are constructing the first Bible Museum in Washington, we have to be mindful of this moment. Having a Bible Museum is not a bad thing, but we must not confine the Bible within the boundaries of a “historical account”. If we look over here and see a museum of dinosaurs, and over there, the Bible; some of these stats reveal that this is simply how people perceive the Bible to be. It is much more than that. It may be in a museum, but the Bible must also be in your heart. In addition, “27% said they simply don’t prioritize the Bible”. It is so important that we understand the importance of priorities in our day. If we are not prioritizing God, we’re not prioritizing anything. “15% say they don’t have time”. Ironically, all of us have the same 24 hours in a day. Moses had the same 24 hours that we do. Jesus had the same 24 hours that we do. They may have had less distractions than we do. We are busying ourselves with that which we think is important. We must ask ourselves, ‘what is taking up my time?’. Instead of looking at the Bible as something we should do, we must look at it as something we get to do. In John 15:5, Jesus said, “I am the vine; you are the branches. If you remain in me and I in you, you will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing.” Some people want to spend time with God; they want to read the Bible, but they just don’t know how. The Bible can seem overwhelming at first. Most people want a plan of how to do it. We all need a simple plan that we can do each day. iAbide.org is that simple plan.

Acts Chapter 2 | Family Bible Study | The Minimalist Homeschool

24:34
We aim to read one chapter per day in our FREE homeschool plan, it is SO incredibly important that we all read the scriptures for ourselves, cover to cover, and I enjoy doing so with our kids too so that they can learn what this book REALLY says, ask questions, and even work through the hard parts.  Their Bible study with their Daddy is MUCH more informative, as although I can read the words (while probably butchering most of the names- whoops!) I'm not always the best at explaining and deciphering. Luckily-- the practice and discipline of reading the chapter each day, book by book, ALONG with a great study Bible and helpful insight from my amazing husband and places like What's in the Bible & Ten Minute Bible Hour really give a great daily foundation.  I know I can't clone my hubby out... but luckily What's in the Bible & Ten Minute Bible Hour ARE available to everyone with the interwebs! 😁 Daily we'll be reading through a chapter, starting with Acts and moving through the whole Bible. Linked to each video will be some additional resources for further discussion and the tools we use for our family study. Psalm 103 Daily Bible Reading wth Paul Nison

10:04
Psalm 103 Daily Bible Reading King David had such a heart for Yahweh. Every Christian should read the Bible every day. Going to church but not reading your Bible is a waste of time. Learn all about the Hebrew Roots of Yeshua by learning the Torah. I continue to do live readings of the Psalms on my channel. As believers we are to pray, praise, proclaim, read, repent and submit daily. Theme of Psalm 103: Psalm 103 A psalm of David. 1 Let all that I am praise the Lord; with my whole heart, I will praise his holy name. 2 Let all that I am praise the Lord; may I never forget the good things he does for me. 3 He forgives all my sins and heals all my diseases. 4 He redeems me from death and crowns me with love and tender mercies. 5 He fills my life with good things. My youth is renewed like the eagle’s! 6 The Lord gives righteousness and justice to all who are treated unfairly. 7 He revealed his character to Moses and his deeds to the people of Israel. 8 The Lord is compassionate and merciful, slow to get angry and filled with unfailing love. 9 He will not constantly accuse us, nor remain angry forever. 10 He does not punish us for all our sins; he does not deal harshly with us, as we deserve. 11 For his unfailing love toward those who fear him is as great as the height of the heavens above the earth. 12 He has removed our sins as far from us as the east is from the west. 13 The Lord is like a father to his children, tender and compassionate to those who fear him. 14 For he knows how weak we are; he remembers we are only dust. 15 Our days on earth are like grass; like wildflowers, we bloom and die. 16 The wind blows, and we are gone— as though we had never been here. 17 But the love of the Lord remains forever with those who fear him. His salvation extends to the children’s children 18 of those who are faithful to his covenant, of those who obey his commandments! 19 The Lord has made the heavens his throne; from there he rules over everything. 20 Praise the Lord, you angels, you mighty ones who carry out his plans, listening for each of his commands. 21 Yes, praise the Lord, you armies of angels who serve him and do his will! 22 Praise the Lord, everything he has created, everything in all his kingdom. Let all that I am praise the Lord. How to Build Confidence | Christian Advice

13:28
Hi beautiful people :) This topic is SO important to me. I learned different 'tricks' and 'quick fixes' for confidence over the years, but I've found those are just like putting band-aids over a wound. It helps for a bit (a temporary solution), but what you really need is to dig deep into that wound to clean it out so the actual root of the problem is fixed. The reason I titled the video how to "build" confidence is because of what I talk about in the video: The way you can build confidence is through BUILDING your foundation on God, and from there confidence comes naturally. I talk about this in the video haha just watch it & it will make more sense :) Verses I paraphrase/mention in this video but don't say directly: God wants you to love Him more than anything/anyone else: Deuteronomy 6:5 God created you: Genesis 1:27 God knitted you together in your mother's womb: Psalm 139:13 You are God's masterpiece: Ephesians 2:10 You are fearfully & wonderfully made: Psalm 139:14 God delights in you: Zephaniah 3:17 You are valuable: John 10:11 (Read all of this parable - God, the good Shepherd, lays down His life for YOU - His sheep - because He sees YOU as valuable!) :) God loves you: John 3:16, 1 John 4:19 God died for you: 1 Peter 2:24 Jesus resurrected, so you will resurrect too: John 11:25 God is your firm foundation: Isaiah 28:16, 2 Timothy 2:19, Acts 4:11 No matter what storm comes, your foundation is secure in Him: Matthew 7:24-27 (SO GOOD!!!) God wants you to be salt & light to the world: Matthew 5:13-16 God works good out of all bad situations: Romans 8:28 God is faithful: Lamentations 3:22-23 You are not alone; God is with you: Matthew 28:20, Acts 17:27, Isaiah 41:10 Song in the outro: You Make Me Brave by Bethel I make all of my videos for Jesus. Learn The Bible In 20 Minutes, From Genesis To Revelations.

20:02
So in the beginning God created the world "very good" and set Adam in the garden of Eden. There Adam was in perfect union with God. Then, tempted by the Serpent, Adam ate of the knowledge of Good and Evil. He was consequently banished from Eden and condemned to mortality and all creation was 'subjected to decay' -Romans. Adam and Eve had children but their children became stained with sin and as a result God sent the flood of Noah destroying all life on earth. Noah emerged from Ark and God promised Noah that he would never destroy the world with water again and sealed his covenant with Noah by setting a Rainbow in the clouds. The Noahide Covenant was established which forbid murder, the eating of blood and 5 other rules. After Noah several generations passed with Abram of Uz was born. God called to Abram and requested he travel west to the land of Canaanites. Abram, with Lot, Sarai and his father traveled west until they reached Haran. Abram's father died in Haran and they carried on into Canaan. God promised Abram offspring and Abram believed God. God counted Abram's faith as righteousness and sealed with him a Covenant in his flesh, the covenant of circumcision. Promising him the land he lived on. Abram begat Isaac in his old age, Isaac begat Jacob and Jacob had his name changed to Israel and begat 12 sons. Joseph was banished to Egypt but his brothers and parents and the entire house of Jacob followed him to Egypt. Pharoah persecuted the Israelites and Moses appeared to free Israel. God called to Moses from the burning bush and sent him to chastise the nation of Egypt. Moses freed Israel from Egypt and leading them by fire at night and a cloud by day he took them through the sea to the mountain of Sinai and there Israel received God's Law, the Torah. Israel though was a stiff-necked nation and refused to obey God. So God punished them forcing them to wander in the wilderness 40 years. Once their entire generation passed away God lead them up passed the land of Edom into the region of Moab where Moses conquered several nations. Moses was refused entry into the promised land because he quarreled at the waters of Maribah. Joshua lead Israel into the promised land. For several generations Israel was lead by Judges who brought Israel back to God time and time again until the time of Samuel when Saul was announced king. Saul displeased God and so the kingship was passed to David. David was "a man after Gods own heart" and God blessed David with a covenant. God promised him that his lineage would never depart from the throne of Israel. David died and Solomon built the temple. Solomons sons divided Israel into two kingdoms, Judah and Israel. Israel angered God and God sent them Elijah to punish them with drought. But Israel was destroyed by Assyria in 722 BC. Israel was banished and they've become the 'lost tribes'. Judah held firm but was warned repeatedly by the prophets. Until 586 BCE Israel was invaded by Babylon and destroyed. When Israel was in exile the prophets predicted that Israel would be restored and an everlasting king would reign in Judah. Israel started looking foward to the Kingdom of God. Under Cyrus the Great Israel was free to return home and Nehemiah and Ezra orchestrated the construction of the temple. Israel was disappointed though because the promised Kingdom hadn't come. Then Alexander the Great invaded Judah and subjected them. Eventually the Maccabees rose up in revolt and freed Israel the establish the Hasmonead Dynasty of Herod The Great. Then the Romans came. Jesus was born in the reign of Ceasar Augustus and was proclaimed Messiah. He taught that the kingdom was going to be given to another nation because Israel "did not recognize the time of their visitation from God" Jesus was then crucified and rose again and paid the penalty for sin that was set down by Adam. He established the final covenant in his body and blood. Instituting the Eucharist as the new passover lamb. The mass is the re-enactment of this covenant. The Apostles went through out the empire preaching the Gospel. Then in 70AD Jerusalem was destroyed. Judaism and Christianity went their separate ways and Christianity consumed the Roman Empire. The successor of Peter became the Pope and Rome became the New Jerusalem. Christ now reigns as King in heaven and his steward the Pope in on earth and we await the full revelation of Christ who will come and regather Israel to himself and bring about the Kingdom of God.

I finally made a decision on what we will do for Bible this year. Whew! I went back and dug out an older program I used way back for our older kids. The main spine will be the Hewitt Bible Devotional Study. Please note-this is an older version. They have updated and switched up their program, but I do believe the layout is the same. Please check their website for more info. Look for the books on used sites, Amazon, and other homeschool websites. ************************************************************* Hewitt Homeschooling: https://www.hewitthomeschooling.com/Materials/mSrchSubject.aspx?s=BC The Stranger on the Road to Emmaus by John Cross Alive 1 Daily Devotions by S. James 4 Daily Bible Reading with Paul Nison

11:09
James, the brother of Yeshua a leader in the Jerusalem church wrote the book of James to first-century Jewish Christians residing in Gentile communities outside Palestine. The Purpose was to expose hypocritical practices and to teach right Christian behavior. Drawing Close to God 1 What is causing the quarrels and fights among you? Don’t they come from the evil desires at war within you? 2 You want what you don’t have, so you scheme and kill to get it. You are jealous of what others have, but you can’t get it, so you fight and wage war to take it away from them. Yet you don’t have what you want because you don’t ask God for it. 3 And even when you ask, you don’t get it because your motives are all wrong—you want only what will give you pleasure. 4 You adulterers![a] Don’t you realize that friendship with the world makes you an enemy of God? I say it again: If you want to be a friend of the world, you make yourself an enemy of God. 5 Do you think the Scriptures have no meaning? They say that God is passionate that the spirit he has placed within us should be faithful to him.[b] 6 And he gives grace generously. As the Scriptures say, “God opposes the proud     but gives grace to the humble.”[c] 7 So humble yourselves before God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.8 Come close to God, and God will come close to you. Wash your hands, you sinners; purify your hearts, for your loyalty is divided between God and the world. 9 Let there be tears for what you have done. Let there be sorrow and deep grief. Let there be sadness instead of laughter, and gloom instead of joy.10 Humble yourselves before the Lord, and he will lift you up in honor. Warning against Judging Others 11 Don’t speak evil against each other, dear brothers and sisters.[d] If you criticize and judge each other, then you are criticizing and judging God’s law. But your job is to obey the law, not to judge whether it applies to you. 12 God alone, who gave the law, is the Judge. He alone has the power to save or to destroy. So what right do you have to judge your neighbor? Warning about Self-Confidence 13 Look here, you who say, “Today or tomorrow we are going to a certain town and will stay there a year. We will do business there and make a profit.” 14 How do you know what your life will be like tomorrow? Your life is like the morning fog—it’s here a little while, then it’s gone. 15 What you ought to say is, “If the Lord wants us to, we will live and do this or that.” 16 Otherwise you are boasting about your own pretentious plans, and all such boasting is evil. 17 Remember, it is sin to know what you ought to do and then not do it.
