Heel pain is a very common problem mostly in females compared to me. It will be early morning pain, like you sleep in the night and wake up in the morning , you have a pain and you walk for few steps, 8 – 10 steps, then it gets better. The Same thing may happen when you sit for half an hour and get up. You may get, you may get pain. Again you take few steps, 8 – 10 steps, then your pain will go off. This condition is grouped into a condition called plantar fasciitis, also called as heel pain. Most of the times, there are no causes for this, it just happens like that. Over time, there is a heel pad fat, between the bone and the skin, which will get flattened or worn off. When it gets worn off, the bone will start taking more load. This is the commonest cause. The other one is, there is a tissue called fascia, which connects the heel one to the toes. The plantar fascia from the heel to the toe, it can get tightened, also giving rise to this pain. It happens due to multiple reasons, like rheumatoid arthritis, uric acid problems leading to gout and gout related or gout type of arthritis. Here are more types of arthritis which can lead to pain, but most times the reason is unknown.it can be an old injury like a stone or a thorn which has pricked you. The stone would have come out, but the fat part is injured, leading to long term pain. Sometimes the infection can also lead to pain. How to manage this? An easier way is by exercises, stretching of the plantar fascia, that is stretching of the foot. Secondly wearing soft footwear. Microcellular rubber, microcellular polymer slippers are available. There is silicone heel pad. For people wearing shoes can use the silicon cup inside the shoes and that will also help. Sometimes with all this pain doesn’t come down, give pain killers and do physical therapies in the form of ultrasonic massages. If this doesn’t work, give local injections with steroids. With one injection, more than 70 – 80 % will get relief. If it doesn’t help, then we have to operate and clear the heel. So the pressure on the heel and then the pain also comes down.

In this video I'm going to share with you with you two question from two viewer about ankle pain, the first viewer hurt his ankle while making a five foot jump on his skateboard, hit on the floor and hurt his ankle three months ago and now he is pain from this pain while trying to do another stunt and the second viewer said that the problem came with age. Let's just take a look at what else can cause ankle pain. Ankle pain can be caused by a sudden twist of the ankle while doing sports like running, playing basketball or walking on uneven surface, also it could be causing from heel pain and last but not least I think also caused by being over weight and your posture and how you hold your body because your ankle holds pretty much your whole body weight. Let's go me show you how to work on two ligaments in this video. Ok I'm going to sit on the sofa to work on this. One leg up and show you how to work on the ankle. First we are going to work on the anterior talofibular ligament right down here, this part here and also the calcaneofibular ligament right here, right underneath this bone here. So we have anterior talofibular ligament and the calcaneofibular ligament right down here. Ok let's zoom in to the leg right here. I want to show you two techniques, to break it down and also put pressure on it. So I'm going to use the index finger. Ankle right here rub it down this way in the area, sometimes it's hard to find the area because it's a tiny area. You can move, do a circle on your ankle to get into the area. Ok! once you find that area start rubbing on it, you can use oil, lotion or without anything. The tendon is this way so you rub against the fiber to break down all the tightness in there. If you have scar tissue you need to complete break it so that it will not reoccur again. Next is also use your index finger find the pain and turn your leg around like this. Move around and once you find the spot, stretch your foot forward and backwards, forward and backwards and as the tightness loosen up try to stretch a little bit extra and come back a little bit more and back, That's to work on anterior talofibular ligament up here and same thing down here, look for the calcaneofibular ligament right here and this ligament goes down this way. Move you ankle around until you find the tightness and rub on it this way. So what you do is rub against this way or this way like such. Find the spot and rub on it, or put your finger on the pain area and turn ok once you find the spot. Then press on it, move a little bit come back press come back. As the area loosen up you can add a little bit more stretch, push it to the back and loosen up that way. To finish up use your pad of the hand to rub the area to warm it up like such or rub, rub, rub it like this or like this with your hands and that's it! Osteoarthritis in the feet can cause pain, tenderness, stiffness, and swelling. Cause #4: Heart Failure Signs of heart failure may be subtle — but one sign is swollen feet. According to the American Heart Association, one symptom of heart failure is the accumulation of fluid, called edema. This fluid retention could be the cause of swollen legs, feet, or ankles. Cause #5: Lymphedema Lymphedema causes lymphatic fluid to accumulate in your arm or leg, causing it to swell, writes the Mayo Clinic. If the swelling starts suddenly or if you have a lot of pain, seek care at a healthcare center or emergency room. Cause #6: Cellulitis Cellulitis is an infection of the skin and deep underlying tissues, writes the U.S. National Library of Medicine. There are different theories about why cellulitis occurs, but it’s probably caused by impaired circulation in the lymphatic system. Cause #7: Gout One of the most painful forms of arthritis, gout occurs when too much uric acid accumulates in the body, writes the National Institute of Arthritis. The Physicians Committee for Responsible Medicine said this same protein also irritates surrounding joint tissue. That pain is also linked to saturated fats in dairy (cheese, milk, butter). Replace the pasteurized milk with almond, soy milk, tofu, margarine or similar. CORN OIL. This oil is full of omega 6 acids that are harmful for us. The Journal of Nutrition and Metabolism stated in one study that more omega 6 acids make more inflammation. Such foods are salad dressings, grapeseed and safflower oil, peanut, soy. Do not remove the omega 6 fully, it is still needed but in moderation. Eat more omega 3 acids of olive oil, flaxseed, nuts and pumpkin seeds. GRAINS AND REFINED FLOUR. Due to high glycemic index they trigger more AGEs and inflammation. Nutrients study published that daily eating wheat items and grain cereals can develop autoimmune diseases chronically. Such grains have little B vitamin and have empty calories. Eating them daily means more risk of diseases like heart issues, diabetes and even cancer. Replace the pasta, white flour, white rice, white bread with coconut/almond/whole grain/brown rice. EGGS. Eating them regularly means more pain and swelling in joints. The yolk in the egg makes inflammation since it has arachidonic acid that makes prostaglandins (causers of inflammation). They also have saturated fats, harmful too. For breakfast, at least remove the yolk and have just the whites. WHEY PROTEINS. The casein and gluten make the inflammation serious. The casein makes uric acid inside us. Too much of this acid inflames the joints and other parts too. This is called gout and can be serious up to the point of damage to the joints. Those sensitive to gluten foods can have chronic problem with this. A study of the Journal Nutrition Biochemistry, 2013, was said gluten free foods aid in inflammation reducing, adiposity and insulin resistance. Opt for the healthy options like lean proteins (beans, seeds, nuts) and less whey. REFINED SALT. This is the table salt we use daily. It is full of additives and chemicals that impair fluid balance inside us. Also, this salt has no natural minerals like phosphorus or silicon. Limit this salt use and you will keep all the calcium needed for healthy bones, against fractures or osteoporosis even. Eat it in minimal doses or buy Himalayan pink salt or sea salt. Also, avoid junk food – it is too salty. MONOSODIUM GLUTAMATE FOODS. The MSG additive makes better flavor in store bought foods like frozen snacks, chips, frozen dinner, Chinese food, salad dressing and soups. It is especially bad for those with rheumatoid arthritis. Eat fresh and natural, homemade foods. Avoid the aspartame foods too, like artificial sweeteners. BEER. Too much alcohol impacts the joints first. Those having beer often and too much, have worse joint health. the purines of it turn to uric acid and this inflames the joints. Bowing of the legs can be part of the normal physiological development of the child. The deformity has a distinctive outward curvature of the knee and lower leg. As the child becomes older, this normally will improve without treatment. The deformity is usually symmetrical and appropriate for the age of the patient. no pain and no stiffness with normal screening process. If the infant is born with bowed legs (genu varum), bowing begins to improve slowly. At about 18 months of age the leg becomes straight. By 3 to 4, the child will have a knock-knee (genu valgum). This will correct itself by the age of 5 to 6 leaving a slight appearance of knock knee. Half of the children correct their bowing early and the other half will correct it late. Observe the child. No treatment is necessary. Give it time. Pathological bowing of the leg is due to a disease process and will get worse with time if not treated. We should be concerned if the deformity is severe. If it runs in families, especially short families, or if it occurs on one side of the body. When bow leg is severe, it may result from underlying conditions such as Blount's disease. Blount’s disease is a condition that can occur in toddlers as well as in adolescents. Abnormality of the growth plate in the upper part of the tibia causes deformity that is often mistaken for genu varus, (bow leg).

Carpal tunnel syndrome can occur during pregnancy since the swelling brought on by pregnancy may compress the median nerve in the hand, causing the fingers to feel numb. These symptoms typically go away after delivery of the baby. Common causes of CTS include: •Obesity •Hypothyroidism •Arthritis •Diabetes •Trauma •Repetitive work (typing, lifting) •Vibration Carpal tunnel syndrome can lead to numbness, tingling or weakness in the hand and fingers. The numbness usually occurs at night because we tend to sleep with our wrists flexed. The Tinel’s test is used to determine symptoms of carpal tunnel syndrome. The test is considered positive if symptoms of tingling worsen while tapping on the median nerve at the wrist. The Phalen's maneuver is a diagnostic test performed to determine if the patient has carpal tunnel syndrome. The back of the hands are pressed together, compressing the nerve, which may cause symptoms of carpal tunnel syndrome. Treatment includes •Anti-inflammatory medication •Splint •Injections •Carpal tunnel release: performed by cutting through the transverse carpal ligament. Carpal tunnel release allows the median nerve to pass freely through the tunnel to receive sensations from the thumb, index, and middle fingers of the hand. Hand pain Common hand problems Carpal tunnel syndrome •Pressure on the median nerve causing pain over the wrist and fingers. •Compression of the median nerve at the wrist. •Can lead to numbness, tingling or weakness in the hand and fingers. •These symptoms are found in the thumb, index, middle and half of the ring fingers. •Can lead to atrophy of the hand and finger muscles. Cubital tunnel syndrome •Pain at the small finger and half of the ring finger. •Pain originates at the medial elbow. •Increased pressure on the ulnar nerve at the elbow where the nerve passes under the medial epicondyle or “funny bone”. •The connective tissue over the nerve will sometimes thicken, causing the patient to have numbness and tingling in the little finger and ulnar half of the ring finger. •Ulnar nerve compression below the elbow that can cause a “claw hand”. Osteoarthritis •Pain typically affecting the interphalangeal joints of the fingers and thumb. •Degenerative joint disease causing gradual deterioration of the cartilage forming the joints of the hand. Rheumatoid arthritis •Pain located at the knuckles of the fingers and the wrist bone on the side of the small finger. •Inflammation or irritation causing pain, swelling, weakness and over time loss of the normal shape and alignment of joints. •The joints between the hand and fingers well and move upward ( dorsal subluxation) •Tendons over the joints slip and cause the fingers to bend towards the little finger (ulnar drift). Flexor tendonitis (trigger finger) •Pain may be located in the palm at the base of the finger. •Condition that affects the tendons of the fingers causing the finger to remain in the bent position when attempting to straighten it. •The flexor tendon becomes thick and irritated as it slides through the tendon pulley causing a thickened nodule and triggering of the tendon. De Quervain’s syndrome •Pain is located over the radial side of the wrist. •Pain and swelling over the thumb side of the wrist that may cause difficulty in gripping with the thumb. •Inflammation of the sheath or tunnel that surrounds the two tendons that control movement of the thumb. Basal thumb joint arthritis •Pain is located at the base of the thumb (CMC joint). •Arthritis of the basal joint or thumb CMC (carpometacarpal joint). •Basal joint arthritis results in pain with restricted movement of the thumb across the palm. It is hard to differentiate between De Quervain’s syndrome and basal thumb joint arthritis. Finklestein’s test ( De Quervain’s) and Grind test (basal thumb arthritis). Finklestein’s test •The test is conducted by having the patient make a fist with the fingers closed over the thumb and the wrist is bent towards the little finger. •The hand is pulled so that the involved tendons are stretched, causing sharp, local pain if injury and inflammation is present. Grind test •By axial loading, pushing and rotating the thumb metacarpal bone, grinding may be felt within the joint. Flexor tenosynovitis (kanavel’s sign) •Pain is located in the finger at the flexor tendon sheath. Cardinal signs 1-Uniform swelling of the entire finger 2-The finger is flexed 3-Intense pain when attempting to straighten the finger. occurs early 4-Tenderness along the course of the tendon sheath.
