B12 Injection Side Effects – 4 Dangers That is Good to Know!

05:08
Click on the link below for a free video guide to dietary supplements and alternative medicine ! http://utahtexans.com/ In this video I want to share some vitamin B12 injection side effects and dangers plus what the vitamin really does for someone. A gentleman named Casimir Funk took the discovery that oranges stopped scurvy and another discovery about the husk in rice preventing rickets and realized hey there were things that in food we just need, vital for life and created the term vitamin. So what the heck does B12 do? It basically benefits the entire body, it's largest benefit is maintaining the health of nerve cells. Let me ask you do you like your senses? Maybe hearing music, looking at landscapes, smelling incense, tasting things like ice cream and who can forget about feeling a puppies fur when you pet him or her. If that wasn't enough it plays a role with digestion. Digestion is really HUGE, did you know that 90% of the feel good chemical seratonin is produced in the gut? 80% of the immune system yep is in the gut. Plus you need it for your heart. Basically if you don't get enough it's going to mess up your senses, digestion, heart, brain and well a lot more. So why would you want to inject vitamin B12? Well, if someone is deficient maybe they have a disorder it can be a quick way to get the vitamin. There are side effects and 1 potential danger is there is inufficient knowledge about the safety of larger amounts of this vitamin during pregnancy. According to ConsumerLabs (they test a bunch of supplements overdosing on this vitamin has been associated with increased risk of autism in their child. It's probably not a good idea to take if you are pregnant. Any supplement shouldn't be taken if your pregnant only omega 3 is good to take. Also if you consume too much of the vitamin you could experience diarrhea, wanting to vomit, stomach pains, since it's water soluble it's not easy to overdose. those are the side effects. Like most things in life your body could just rebel and this means an allergic reaction. This includes soreness/itching at the injection site. Msucle cramping, irregular heart beats and even problems with your senses such as slurred speech, vision changes or chest pains. If you do experience nasty side effects then you should stop taking the vitamin. The fourth danger with this vitamin injection is that it could interact negatively with a drug. If you are taking any drugs you really should consult your doctors before giving this injection a try.

Niacin Side Effects – 8 Signs You Need More and 6 Signs You're Consuming Too Much!

04:50
http://utahtexans.com/ Click on the link above for a free video guide to shopping for supplements and alternative medicine! In this video I want to share a few of the common niacin side effects of not consuming enough of it, as well as consuming too much. Niacin also goes by the name vitamin B3 and because it's a vitamin it's vital for life. One of it's roles in the human body is to take food and turn it into glucose ,which the body uses for energy. It also plays a role in the health of the nervous system, skin, hair, eyes as well as the liver. You might be wondering what happens if someone doesn't consume enough of this stuff. According to WebMd a person may feel some depression, possibly fatigue, they could experience digestive issues and some canker sores. Those are the beginning symptoms of a deficiency and then things start to get worse. Next a person could experience disorientation, head pain, memory loss and a swollen mouth and bright red tongue. Then there is one last negative side effect that can take place. Can you guess what that is? Yep, it's dieing which can happen. You might be wondering what happens if someone consumes too much niacin. According to Mayoclinic a person might experience a speedy heart rate, stomach pains, joint aches, diarrhea, vomiting and possibly some itching. The good news is that niacin is a water soluble vitamin so you can flush it out of your system through drinking water. We all know that we need vitamin B3 just to operate normally let's go over a few nifty benefits this stuff can give us. One huge advantage to this substance is that it's great for the heart. Considering that heart problems is such a huge reason for death and so many expensive drugs target it this is huge. Mayoclinic stats that it can raise the healthy HDL cholesterol that unclogs arteries by more than 30%. It also can lower triglycerides, which clog up arteries and it can decrease the unwanted LDL cholesterol. Next up another health problem is plaguing humans thanks to consuming too much sugar and do you have any idea what this is? Yep, it's diabetes. At the University of Texas Southwest Medical Center researchers tested giving niacin to 148 patients. The results was that the participates in the trial showed significant improvement in lipid levels and minimal changes in blood sugar levels. These are just 2 health problems that it can really help with and it can do so many other things. Supplements and alternative medicine can be confusing and even harmful. Make things really simple and give your body a HUGE edge by viewing a free video guide I created at http://utahtexans.com/.

This is What Happens to Your Heart When You Indulge in Energy Drinks

03:27
► This is What Happens to Your Heart When You Indulge in Energy Drinks Caffeine on its own offers various benefits, such as relieving headaches, treating conditions like diabetes and asthma, and improving mental alertness. But, when combined with artificial sweeteners and similar additives, caffeine converts into a toxic cocktail which can damage the cardiovascular system and increase the risk for a heart attack. This is exactly what happened to Cory Terry, a 33-year old father who died of a heart attack after drinking one of the most popular energy drinks- Red Bull. As explained by his mother, he was a physically active non-smoker who consumed Red Bull regularly. Does Red Bull Cause Heart Attacks? According to a study published in Mayo Clinic Proceedings, Red Bull and similar drinks could negatively affect those with cardiovascular conditions. In addition, they might cause similar symptoms in healthy individuals, too. One study involved giving fifteen healthy participants two cans of energy drink similar to Red Bull in terms of ingredients for a week. It has been found that their blood pressure increased by 8 percent only four hours after drinking the beverage, rising up to 10 percent by the end of the week. It was also found that their heart rates increased by 8 percent on the first day and climbed 11 percent by the end of the week. Both of the aforementioned factors are linked to an increased risk of heart attack. Hypertension (high blood pressure) can cause damage to the arteries, which in turn leads to heart attack-causing clots and stroke. What Is In Red Bull? In addition to sugar and carbonation, Red Bull`s major ingredients include stimulants ( taurine and caffeine), and a few B-group vitamins. Even though these ingredients on their own have not been shown to cause negative side effects, minimal research has been conducted on the effect of the combination of these ingredients. Another study explored the effect that Red Bull had on people during and after an exercise. The trial involved 13 subjects who engaged in endurance training. The researchers had them exercise three times daily, and each time before they exercised they were given a Red Bull, a beverage similar to it but without taurine, and a stimulant-free placebo. The team of researchers found that Red Bull was the only one to affect participant`s stroke volume, which is the amount of blood pumped by the heart. In other words, even though the stimulants in Red Bull might not cause any serious side effects separately, they do have a significant effect on the cardiovascular system when combined. This significant effect refers to an increased risk of heart attacks. The bottom line is that these studies prove what most people were familiar with already. Red Bull and similar energy drinks are not good for the heart! If you need caffeine to jumpstart your day, stick to coffee or other drink that contains only one stimulant. Another option is to opt for natural, energy-boosting beverages. 👉🏿 Please leave a like if you enjoyed and tell me what you think in the comments! 👉🏿 Don't forget to subscribe my channel to help us reach to 10.000 Subscribers : https://goo.gl/29sHF2 Hi, I hope you like this video on my channel - Healthy2Life, if you did, please leave a Like and Subscribe to my channel ❤ Thank you all ;)

How Much Mineral's Are 'Too Much', How Do You Know? ~~~Nancy

24:56
Three of the top electrolytes are calcium, potassium and magnesium. If someone is going to take a lot of minerals and take them frequently - as in every day for any length of time - 3 days - 5 days; a week or more, then what I've been told is we need the entire spectrum of minerals. A person would have to cover all bases in order to protect the electrolyte balance. But - in my opinion - the electrolyte balance would only be thrown off if the minerals can a) get into the cellular level of the body. To get into the cellular level, the minerals have to be something called 'angstrom sized' so that they could be absorbed in any appreciable quantity - in the cells of the body, and b) they would have to be used in a steady enough fashion (daily basis). The most optimal way to take minerals is from a complete foundation kit of minerals. These might be available through an online source; someone who makes their own minerals or vitamins. Chiropractors sell these types of products. The best minerals will absorb into the cellular level of the body - and there they can impact the body to 'fix' any problem or to reverse illness. If a person received the entire spectrum of minerals they could begin to reverse illness or disease. It's free and very enlightening. Dr. Berg takes about the relationship between insulin resistance, potassium and blood pressure. Blood pressure is a potassium deficiency, not a a sodium excess. However, if someone has a problem with insulin, potassium is even more deficient. Potassium is controlled by insulin. When there is insulin resistance, potassium becomes deficient. By spiking potassium in a pre-diabetic or a diabetic state, the need for insulin can reduce. Reduce Stress and Burn Fat with Vitamin C- Thomas DeLauer

03:05
Reduce Stress and Burn Fat with Vitamin C- Thomas DeLauer Vitamin C is just one of the many BASIC vitamins that doesn't get enough attention, learn more at http://www.ThomasDeLauer.com We're always told that you can take vitamin C when you're sick or when you got a cold or when you've got the flu and it's going to help you fight the illness and get over it quicker, but no one's ever really looking outside the box and looking at what other uses we can use vitamin C for, at least in the business world for those of us that are living a high-stress life and are trying to balance work, family, health, and all that. First, let's take a little look at what vitamin C does and exactly why it can be a benefit to you in this particular case. Before I dive into vitamin C, I have to talk a little bit about cortisol, which I talk about in a lot of my videos. I talk about how cortisol stimulates the release of adrenaline, epinephrine, norepinephrine, all those hormones and those basically neurotransmitters that are going to make you in that fight or flight response. They're going to make you have to fight for something or run away and basically not be able to focus on the work that really needs to be focused on. Well, what vitamin C does is it actually blunts the cortisol, or more so, it blunts the effect of cortisol on the body. Simply by taking some vitamin C in a mega dose, your body can fight the cortisol and b in a better position to make executive decisions and to make the right progress in the gym and at home and in the kitchen. When it comes down to psychology and how you feel and how your stress levels are and how you can focus, there's even been a study out of Germany that took 1,000 test subjects, 500 of them, they were given a placebo, and the other 500 we're given high doses of vitamin C. Well, all 1,000 of those participants or those subjects were going into a public speaking arrangement. They were going into a position where they were going to be speaking in front of a lot of people, something that was going to be unnerving and stressful. The test subjects that took the vitamin C had markedly lower serum cortisol levels than the others. Now the other interesting thing is those that took vitamin C also had about a 30% reduction in their heart rate. What this means is that vitamin C had a direct correlation with reducing cortisol and reducing stress. What does this mean to you and what can you do? Simply put, mega dose some vitamin C. Take 500 milligrams with every meal, and don't worry about overdosing on it because vitamin C is water-soluble and whatever your body doesn't use, your kidneys are just going to excrete out. If you can keep a constant flow of vitamin C through the body, you're going to constantly be reducing that carbon footprint that cortisol is leaving on your body, and let's face it, as someone that's working all the time, someone that's focusing on business, someone that's trying to juggle all aspects of life, you are constantly stressed, and if you can combat it with a little bit of vitamin C, you're going to be more focused in the office, able to focus on what needs to be focused on to get the job done and to get paid. You're going to have more energy, more energy in the gym, more energy to focus on what needs to be done in the gym. You're going to feel better and not stressed out so you're going to make better decisions at home in the kitchen. Most of all, you're going to have that sense of well-being that's going to skyrocket you into a new level of success where you feel confident, feel good about yourself, and never having to focus on that multitasking mode where you can't get the job done. CBD Oil Side Effects Warning (Do Not Buy CBD Until You See This)

01:45
3 simple tips to follow before buying: 1. Always check the CBD purity, it should be 50% and more. 2. Choose products made in the US or Canada. Due to strict regulations this is your quality guarantee. 3. Do not expect to purchase quality and safe to use CBD oil for pennies. High quality CBD oil should cost at least $45-$50. Choose another product if that amount puts you into an uncomfortable situation financially. Brands that I trust and recommend: 1. Verified CBD Oil (http://verifiedcbdoil.com). This is probably the oldest brand of CBD I know. Tons of success stories and quality I have tested myself - these are the reasons I have been recommending this brand to my friends and family for years. The only downside is that due to their recent TV "fame" they are often out of stock and can be hard to get. Official website: http://verifiedcbdoil.com Benefits and Side Effects of CBD Oil Cannabidiol, or CBD as it is commonly known, is a very interesting chemical. And it is responsible for many people changing their views on marijuana use for medicinal purposes. While everyone has heard of THC (tetrahydrocannabinol), not many are aware of CBD. The two chemicals are both contained in marijuana, but they serve very different purposes. While the THC in marijuana is will get you high, CBD is a chemical with many benefits from a medicinal point of view - and it does not have the same side effects on the body as THC. What are the Health Benefits of CBD Oil? The ingredient CBD has been used for many years to make several products. One of these products is CBD oil. According to many studies which have carried out on this product, there are many different health benefits associated with it. First and foremost, it can help people who are experiencing excessive nausea and vomiting due to chemotherapy or some other type of medical treatment. It is also great at reducing the seizures some people get on a regular basis. Another benefit of CBD oil is how it helps combat inflammation and neuro-degenerative disorders. It is also great for anxiety and depression sufferers. So if you are suffering from one of these conditions, you may want to talk to your physician about the possibility of getting on CBD oil for a few months. CBD oil also contain various o nutrients like carbohydrates, amino acids, vitamins such as vitamin B1, B2, B6, D and E, trace minerals such as calcium, iron zinc, magnesium potassium, and several other compounds required by the human body for healthy functioning, such as chlorophyll, carotene, ketones, glycosides, nitrogen-based compounds, etc.. Unlike THC, CBD oil doesn't make you high. The CBD in these this product will not make you feel the same as the THC does. This is because THC is a psychoactive chemical whereas CBD is not. It does not act in the same manner when it comes into contact with your brain's pathways. It does not interfere with your psychological or psychomotor functions either. For those who want a simpler explanation: CBD oil is 100% safe and won't get you high! Are there Any Side Effects of CBD Oil? Whereas CBD oil has been proven safe for human consumption, some researches done on it have identified a possibility of side effects in patients taking the oil. One study which was published in 1886 in the International Journal of Neuroscience showed that CBD oil could cause some mild side effects in patients with dystonia. These side effects include dry mouth, hypotension, sedation, psychomotor slowing, and lightheadedness. However, there are no side effects which have been reported when CBD is taken in high doses. As you can see, you should not worry when taking CBD oil as its side effects are very mild. Buy CBD oil today and experience the many benefits associated with it. Liposomal Encapsulated Vitamin C - DIY Vitamin C Mega-Dosing

03:38
The Math: 1 cup water (for lecithin mixture) + 1/2 cup water (for ascorbic acid mixture) + 3 tablespoons of lecithin (0.1875 cups) + 1 tablespoon of ascorbic acid (0.0625 cups, or 14.78676 grams) = 1.75 cups total volume of the mixture 0.0625 cups of ascorbic acid to 1.75 cups total volume means the mixture contains 3.6% ascorbic acid. You could also think of it as a ratio of 1 to 28. 1 tablespoon of the mixture contains 0.5281 grams of ascorbic acid. With an 80% absorption rate, your body will use about 0.42248 of those 0.5281 grams. 0.422 grams = 422 MG, more than 7 times the recommended dose from Health Canada and FDA. --------------------- RECIPE: Add 1 level tablespoon ascorbic acid (about $20 for a pound) to 1/2 cup distilled water. Blend for 1 minute in a blender. Add 3 level tablespoons of non-GMO soy lecithin or sunflower lecithin (about 1 dollar per ounce) to 1 cup distilled water. Lecithin may be granular or liquid. Blend for 1 minute in a blender. Pour both solutions into ultrasonic cleaner (about $35) for 6 minutes, stirring frequently with wooden spoon. Refrigerate. -------------- The Science: An ultrasonic cleaner vibrates liquid with high frequency sound (25 kHz - 150 kHz). The high frequency vibrations encapsulates, or coats vitamin C particles in a layer of lipid material (liposomes) allowing for easy absorption through cell walls. The encapsulation also protects the ascorbic acid from being destroyed by stomach acid. --------- Absorption Facts: 1,000 mg (1 gram) vitamin C tablet or capsule: Absorption 20% = 200 mg into blood stream 1,000 mg Liposomal Vitamin C (1 tbsp Liposomal Encapsulated C): Absorption 80% + = 800 mg + into blood stream In other words, 1 gram of liposomal encapsulated vitamin C (LEC) is equal to 4 grams + worth of regular vitamin C pills. --------- Vitamin C Facts: LEC is even more effective than ascorbic acid injections for absorption into cells. There is no toxic dose of vitamin C. Both FDA and Health Canada recommend 60 mg of vitamin C per day, which is about the content of 1 orange. Of that 60 MG, you will absorb 12 MG (20%) and the rest will be destroyed by stomach acid. With one tablespoon of LEC, you absorb about 422 MG. Since high doses of vitamin C can cause digestive problems, note that LE is an efficient and safe way to take high doses of vitamin C. You can spend $30 to $60 for 2 ounces of ready made LEC if you want, or you can make it yourself for in minutes for pennies. Mega-dosing on vitamin C has been known to cure everything from colds to cancer. It is worth researching the wonders of vitamin C. --------- LEC and Vitamin C Links: Vitamin C Mega-Dosing Continues to Unleash Healing Miracles Around the World: http://www.naturalnews.com/034591_vitamin_C_mega-dose_healing.html Living Proof Vitamin C Miracle Cure - 60 Minutes: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vTXSTGGRvKY Caner Fighter's Weblog: http://cancerfighter.wordpress.com/2008/10/05/mike-adams-on-vitamin-c-an-ironic-look-at-the-anti-vitamin-c-arguments/ Vitamin C Featured Articles from Natural News: http://www.naturalnews.com/list_features_vitamin_C.html LIPOSOMAL ENCAPSULATED VITAMIN C - As Effective As IV - DIY for Pennies: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SeU--wadrMY -------

Warning Signs You Are Vitamin D Deficient

03:10
Did you know that Vitamin-D isn’t actually a vitamin? It’s a steroid hormone that our bodies produce when we get enough sunshine. We can also get it from certain food sources or from supplements. Whatever it is, getting enough Vitamin-D is vital. Vitamin-D deficiency has been linked to heart disease, breast, colon and prostate-cancer, depression, weight-gain and more. While doctors can’t say for sure that a lack of Vitamin-D causes these conditions, it has been proven that people with higher levels of Vitamin-D have a lower risk of these diseases. In addition to lowering your risk of illness, Vitamin-D plays some very specific roles in the body such as: • Contributing to the formation and preservation of strong and healthy bones • Boosting the immune-system and fighting infection • Helping the muscles function • Helping circulation and heart health Certain categories of people are more at risk of developing Vitamin-D deficiency than others. If you fall into one or more of the following categories, you should get your Vitamin-D levels checked. You’re Over 50 – as we age, our skin doesn’t make as much Vitamin-D from the sun. Our kidneys also convert less Vitamin-D into the form our bodies need it in. You Have Dark Skin – because skin pigment acts as a natural sunscreen, the darker your skin, the more sun exposure you need. It’s estimated that African Americans need as much as 10-times the sun exposure of those with pale skin, to meet Vitamin D needs. You’re Overweight or Obese – Vitamin D is fat-soluble, meaning the more body fat you have, the more Vitamin-D you’ll need. You have Digestive Issues – if you suffer from digestive problems that affect your intestines ability to absorb Vitamin-D from your food, then you may be deficient.  Type of Climate – naturally, if you live in a climate with little or no sun, then your body won’t be able to make all the Vitamin-D it needs from sunshine. Still worried you might be Vitamin-D deficient? Here are some signs you should be watching out for: 1.Depression or Anxiety Low levels of Vitamin-D have been linked with depression and anxiety. The bottom line is, if you’re struggling with low moods or cognitive problems, then it can be a sign you’re lacking in Vitamin D. 2.Achy, Weak or Broken Bones When it comes to bone health, the two most important nutrients are calcium and Vitamin D. If you’re constantly getting achy bones (known as osteomalacia), fractures or breaks, then a Vitamin D deficiency might be to blame. 3.Problems Sleeping If you can’t nod off despite following a perfect night time routine, filling your bedroom with plants to help you sleep and employing a whole host of natural sleep remedies, then it might be that you’re lacking in the sunshine vitamin. Low Vitamin D levels can seriously mess up your sleeping pattern and cause sleep disorders like insomnia, sleep apnea, REM related apnea, unexplained awakenings and inappropriate body movements during sleep. 4.Frequent Infections Since Vitamin D plays a vital role in a well-functioning immune system, it shouldn’t come as a surprise that frequent infections (cause by poor immunity) signal a lack of Vitamin D. German researchers have found that Vitamin D increases your immune function by up to 5 times, while boosting your ability to fight off infections and viruses. Natural Cure for Depression, Bipolar, ADHD, Schizophrenia

09:27
This alternative therapy employs vitamins, minerals, and amino acids to create optimum nutritional content for the body, as well as the right environment and equilibrium. Like most alternative medicine techniques, orthomolecular medicine targets a wide range of conditions. [depression, bipolar, adhd, schizophrenia, add, addiction, alcoholism, drug addiction...] Orthomolecular medicine was developed by Linus Pauling, Ph.D., winner of two Nobel prizes, in 1968. It is designed to enable individuals to reach the apex of health and the peak of their performance by utilizing only naturally occurring substances (e.g. vitamins, minerals, enzymes, trace elements, co-enzymes). The proper balance of these substances in the body is the key to reaching physical, mental, and emotional health and stability. Orthomolecular medicine can be used therapeutically to treat diseases such as cancer and AIDS, or preventatively to impede the progress of degenerative disease and aging. When all is said and done, however, the main objective of orthomolecular medicine is to help the patient reach an optimal level of health; his or her self-esteem will probably improve in the process. Although orthomolecular medicine did not fully develop into a therapy until the late 1960's when Pauling coined the term "orthomolecular," the premise behind this practice originated in the 1920's, when vitamins and minerals were first used to treat illnesses unrelated to nutrient deficiency. It was discovered that vitamin A could prevent childhood deaths from infectious illness, and that heart arrhythmia (irregular heartbeat) could be stopped by dosages of magnesium. Hard scientific evidence supporting nutritional therapy did not emerge, however, until the 1950's, when Abram Hoffer, M.D., and Humphrey Osmond, M.D., began treating schizophrenics with high doses of vitamin B3 (niacin). As a consequence of their studies, it was revealed that niacin, in combination with other medical treatments, could double the number of recoveries in a one-year period. Eventually, it was determined that malnutrition and consumption of refined, empty-calorie foods such as white bread and pastries and overconsumption of sugar could yield disease and psychiatric disorders. It became apparent that a person's diet was an overwhelmingly integral part of his or her health and well-being. Further studies showed that decreased intake of dietary fiber, bran, minerals, and complex carbohydrates was prevalent in patients with certain forms of mental illness, accompanied by a loss of vitamins and an increase in dietary fat. Biochemical individual is a main principle of orthomolecular medicine. This principle was elucidated by Roger J. Williams, Ph.D. This principle is quite simple: every living organism is unique! Furthermore, each individual requires different relative amounts of nutrients for his or her satisfaction and optimal level of health. The government sets a minimum recommended daily allowance (RDA) which is supposed to be adequate for all individuals. However, many may need to exceed the RDA as well as the recommended 2,000 calorie diet in order to prevent severe deficiency disease. Thus, RDA values are not perfect guidelines for everyone. Several studies have proven the existence of biochemical individuality. For example, studies of guinea pigs showed a twentyfold variation in their requirement for vitamin C. A study conducted with human subjects revealed that children have varying needs for vitamin B6.

Hepatitis B Vaccine & Autism- Paul Thomas, MD

01:18
Dr. Paul Thomas: They don’t do that. There are good studies on that. If the baby is in distress, you are, of course, doing to get busy, but most the time you can delay cord cutting. Then in the US hospitals, when you sign to have your baby, parents you need to know this, you are giving permission for routine care. Routine care means whisk that baby off, dry him off, vitamin K, which I think is okay. It’s a good idea, hepatitis B 250 µg of aluminum for a vaccine your baby does not need. You know catch hepatitis B, right Mike. You’re a medical person. Mike: Sexually transmitted, blood transmitted. Dr. Thomas: Exactly. Hepatitis B you catch from sex and IV drug use, sharing dirty needles. I’m thinking “Hmm, none of the babies in my practice are doing that.” Why are we moving the Hep B from teenagers, where belongs, to newborns? I had that thought in 2002, when that recommendation was made. They told us, you can go back and find the articles, we’re going to raise a population that’s immune hepatitis B. We can eradicate it, like we eradicated smallpox. Has that happened? Mike: No. Dr. Thomas: No. Here is what we now know. Some of the early data goes almost 20 years, but there's a huge cohort that is now hitting 15 years, because that was about how long ago we did this. The studies are showing for 20-year-olds, 26% of them still have immunity, 26%. That means 74 do not. When are these kids going to have sex, and be promiscuous, and maybe do IV drug use? Late teens, early 20s. When that happens, most of them probably won't have protection anymore. Not only are we unnecessarily poisoning all these babies, I'm sorry for using the word poisoning, but when you inject a toxin, you’re poisoning. We are not only poisoning them for no reason, they're not at risk for Hep B, but we’re also reducing their ability to have good immunity when they need it. There was a study published very recently last few years, 300% increase in autism. This is an autism summit. We want to find out what can we do to reduce our risk. Hepatitis B series in infants 300% increase in autism rate. There's just one thing you can do, just don't do the hepatitis B, unless birth mom, if you have Hep B, you do it. That makes sense. There's a good study on that. Other than that, 99% of mothers in America do not have hepatitis B. Guess how many in my practice have had hepatitis B in my 30 year career. Mike: One. 17:19 Aluminum and Brain Damage Dr. Thomas: Zero. That was a good guess, though. That was a really good guess. Zero. I’ve had a few Hep C’s lately, because that’s on the rise. There is no vaccine for that yet, but no Hep B. That and one other issue that will talk about which is the MMR, were reasons that 8 years ago, I went to my group practice, fellow pediatricians, and I said I can no longer ethically give hepatitis B to newborns. There was a study showing that that much aluminum will reduce their developmental scores, actually the study was done IV's, so I should clarify for our viewers, a very good study done by Bishop. I think it was in the late 1990s, where they looked at preemies who had to be fed through a tube, hyperal. At the time hyperal was very contaminated with aluminum. They were worried about this, because you preemies don't have good kidney function, which puts you an even higher risk for aluminum damage and aluminum toxicity. What they found was, if they got more than 4 to 5 µg of aluminum per kilogram per day, they lost a point on the Bailey Developmental Score, for each day that they were on hyperal. So every day that you're getting aluminum, you're losing developmental scores. You're getting brain damage. Let’s just use the number 5, 5 µg per kilogram per day. What does a typical newborn weight?

Vitamin C | Benefits, Dosage, Supplements and Foods | Hindi

Although most adults would be hard pressed to name a good food source of biotin or riboflavin, most everyone can name citrus fruits as good sources of vitamin C. It is also a commonly used nutritional supplement. The first use of modern scientific methods to assess disease treatment was when the British navy used foods containing vitamin C (although the vitamin itself would remain undiscovered for nearly two centuries) to prevent scurvy among sailors. You could make a good case that this nutrition experiment is among the most important scientific findings in human history. Despite the familiarity of the U.S. public with vitamin C and the popularity of vitamin C supplements, food intake of vitamin C by the average U.S. adult is not much higher than the Dietary Reference Intake (DRI) level. For men in the U.S. twenty years and older, this average is 96 milligrams per day, and for women in the U.S. twenty years and older, it is 82 milligrams per day. (The DRIs for these two groups are 90 milligrams and 75 milligrams, respectively.) So even though U.S. adults are averaging adequate intake of vitamin C intake from their food, the amount is not as high as some people might expect given widespread familiarity and interest in vitamin C. Of the World's Healthiest Foods, a staggering 27 rate as excellent sources of vitamin C. Six of these contain a full day's requirement of vitamin C in a single serving. We also rate 14 very good and 14 good sources of the vitamin. This should give you plenty of variety with which to build a menu plan that easily exceeds your vitamin C goal. Role in Health Support Protection Against Excess Free Radicals Vitamin C is probably best known as an antioxidant. This is a word that we use frequently but don't always stop to think about in terms of its meaning. Antioxidants are forms of molecules that help keep chemical reactions in our body in check. In particular, antioxidants help prevent excessive activity on the part of free radical molecules. (Free radicals are forms of molecules that tend to be very reactive, and too many free radicals in the wrong place at the wrong time can do damage to our cells and tissue.) Vitamin C and other antioxidants help prevent that damage. Damage to the lens of the eye, damage to molecules circulating around in our bloodstream, and damage to genetic material (DNA) in our cells are all examples of damage that have been shown to be prevented under certain circumstances by vitamin C. One interesting application of vitamin C as an antioxidant is its ability to transform iron into a state that is better absorbed in the intestine. Including vitamin C-rich foods in recipes with your best iron sources can potentially be a way to enhance iron absorption. Collagen Vitamin C is required to produce collagen, a protein that plays a critical role in the structure of our bodies. Collagen is the framework for our skin and our bones, and without it, we would quite literally fall apart. This is exactly what we see with severe vitamin C deficiency, or scurvy. People who have this condition lose teeth, bleed easily, and lose the strength of their bones. Luckily, it doesn't take much vitamin C to prevent this problem. As we've known for more than two centuries, a single lime per day would usually be enough. (However, as described earlier, we have dozens and dozens of great food choices that will give us as much vitamin C as a single lime!) Brain Health Vitamin C is necessary to make certain neurotransmitters. These neurotransmitters are the signals that carry thoughts, feelings, and commands around our brains and throughout our nervous system. In particular, we need vitamin C to produce serotonin, a hormone that plays a critical role in wide variety of body systems, including the nervous system, endocrine system, immune system, and digestive system. Many of our moods, daily bodily rhythms (including sleep-wake cycles), and experiences of stress and pain have serotonin included as a factor in their occurrence. Some of the most commonly used prescription medications for depression (SSRIs, or Selective Serotonin Reupdate Inhibitors) also target this hormone. While we are not suggesting that dietary intake of vitamin C will automatically improve the quality of any experiences described above, we do recommend that you include vitamin C-rich foods on a daily basis as part of your overall well-being.

10 Things Your Nails Can Reveal About Your Health

05:47
10 Things Your Nails Can Reveal About Your Health Nails are often regarded as a purely aesthetic feature, and the $768 million spent annually on nail polish (in the U.S. alone) can attest to that.1 Yet, your nails are far more than a platform for bright colors and nail art. The shape, texture, and color of your natural nails act as a window into your body, and while some nail symptoms are harmless, others can be indicative of chronic diseases, including cancer. As noted by the American Academy of Dermatology (AAD):2 "Nails often reflect our general state of health. Changes in the nail, such as discoloration or thickening, can signal health problems including liver and kidney diseases, heart and lung conditions, anemia, and diabetes." Even the growth rate of your nails may give clues about your underlying health. Healthy nails grow, on average 3.5 millimeters (mm) a month, but this is influenced by your nutritional status, medications, trauma, chronic disease, and the aging process itself.3 If you notice any significant changes in your nails, including swelling, discolorations, or changes in shape or thickness, see a dermatologist right away. It could be nothing, or it could be due to an underlying condition (for instance, nail problems are more common in people with diabetes). Below are 10 nail symptoms you might experience in your lifetime and what they mean for your health. 1. Yellow Nails Your nails may yellow with age or due to the use of acrylic nails or nail polish. Smoking can also stain nails a yellowish hue. If your nails are thick, crumbly, and yellow, a fungal infection could be to blame. Less often, yellow nails may be related to thyroid disease, diabetes, psoriasis, or respiratory disease (such as chronic bronchitis). 2. White Spots Small white spots on your nails are usually the result of nail trauma. They're not cause for concern and will fade or grow out on their own. Less commonly, white spots that do not go away could be due to a fungal infection. 3. Dry, Cracked or Brittle Nails Lifestyle factors may play a role here, such as if you have your hands in water a lot (washing dishes, swimming, etc.), use nail polish remover frequently, are exposed to chemicals (such as cleaning products) often, or live in a region with low humidity. Cracking and splitting can also be caused by a fungal infection or thyroid disease, particularly hypothyroidism. Brittle nails may also be due to a deficiency in vitamins A and C or the B vitamin biotin. 4. Clubbing Clubbing describes when your fingertips become enlarged and the nail becomes curved downward. It can be a sign of low oxygen in your blood and is associated with lung disease. Clubbing can also be related to liver or kidney disease, heart disease, inflammatory bowel disease, and AIDS. 5. Horizontal Ridges Horizontal ridges may also be due to trauma or a serious illness with a high fever (such as from scarlet fever or pneumonia). John Anthony, M.D., a dermatologist at the Cleveland Clinic in Ohio, explained them this way to TIME: "This is typically the result of direct trauma to the nail or a more serious illness, in which case you'll see it on more than one nail at a time … Your body is literally saying, 'I've got better things to do than make nails' and pauses their growth." Horizontal ridges, also known as Beau's lines, may also be due to psoriasis, uncontrolled diabetes, circulatory disease, or severe zinc deficiency. Another type of horizontal line is known as Mees' lines, which are horizontal discolorations that may be due to arsenic poisoning, Hodgkin's disease, malaria, leprosy, or carbon monoxide poisoning. 6. Vertical Ridges Vertical ridges are typically a normal sign of aging and are not a cause for concern. They may become more prominent as you get older. In some cases, nail ridges may be de to nutrient deficiencies, including vitamin B12 and magnesium. 7. Spoon Nails Nails that curve upward at the edges, taking on a spoon-like appearance, may be a sign of iron-deficiency anemia, hemochromatosis (excess iron absorption), heart disease, or hypothyroidism. 8. Dark Discolorations Black streaks or painful growths on your nail warrant an immediate trip to your physician, as they may be due to melanoma, the deadliest form of skin cancer. 9. Pitting If your nails have multiple pits or dents, it's often a sign of psoriasis. Nail pitting may also be due to connective tissue disorders (including Reiter's syndrome) or alopecia areata, an autoimmune disease that causes hair loss. 10. White Nails with a Strip of Pink If your nails are mostly white with a narrow pink strip at the top, known as Terry's nails, it could be a sign of liver disease, congestive heart failure, kidney failure, or diabetes. Sometimes Terry's nails may also be due to aging. 10 Things Your Nails Can Reveal About Your Health Subscribe to the channel, watch more videos, like or share a video and leave a comment. Thanks.

Food rich in Vitamin B12

01:26
Vitamin B12 is a water-soluble vitamin that is naturally present in some foods, added to others, and available as a dietary supplement and a prescription medication. Vitamin B12 exists in several forms and contains the mineral cobalt so compounds with vitamin B12 activity are collectively called "cobalamins". Methylcobalamin and 5-deoxyadenosylcobalamin are the forms of vitamin B12 that are active in human metabolism. Vitamin B12 is a powerhouse. It helps make DNA, nerve and blood cells, and is crucial for a healthy brain and immune system. It aids in the metabolism of the body. But B12 isn't like other vitamins. It's only found in animal products like eggs, meat, shellfish, and dairy. Up to 15% of people don't get enough B12, and they're more likely to be vegetarians, have celiac disease or other digestion problems, or be an adult over 50. The signs of vitamin B12 deficiency include exhaustion, rapid heartbeat, brain fog, and other symptoms. Symptoms of Vitamin B12 Deficiency A deficiency of vitamin B12 can lead to anemia. A mild deficiency may cause no symptoms. But if untreated, it may progress and cause symptoms such as: • Weakness, tiredness, or lightheadedness • Heart palpitations and shortness of breath • Pale skin • A smooth tongue • Constipation, diarrhea, a loss of appetite, or gas • Nerve problems like numbness or tingling, muscle weakness, and problems walking • Vision loss • Mental problems like depression, memory loss, or behavioral changes • Poor dental health, including bleeding gums and mouth sores • Inability to concentrate well Vitamin B12 deficiency may be caused in a person who may be a vegan (meaning he/she don't eat any animal products, including meat, milk, cheese, and eggs) or a vegetarian who doesn't eat enough eggs or dairy products to meet your vitamin B12 needs. Babies born to mothers who are vegetarians may also not get enough vitamin B12. Vegans can take supplements containing vitamin B12 or eat vitamin B12-fortified grains. The risk of B12 deficiency also increases with age. Music Credits: www.bensound.com
Clinical Depression, Acetylcholine Excess, and 3 Simple Ways to Test a Connection

11:25
"Acetylcholine Excess and Depression: A Connection that Suggests Safely Testable Hypotheses for Lessening Depression" Depression deserves the same approach and treatment as non-brain-related chronic problems such as arthritis or a bad back. A study found that a few weeks after receiving botox treatment for wrinkles, around 1/2 of patients found relief from depression. See https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/24910934. Why did botox help? Ideas: #1 - Botox works by suppressing the release of acetylcholine. https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC1192367/ High levels of acetylcholine are now being looked at as a potential root cause of depression. https://bbrfoundation.org/discoveries/potential-root-cause-of-depression-discovered-by-narsad-grantee Acetylcholine is synthesized from choline, which is high in animal products, wheat germ, peanuts, broccoli, Brussel sprouts, etc. #2 - Nicotinic acetylcholine receptors (nAChRs) respond to acetylcholine. #3 - nAChRs in the brain can become desensitized after repeated exposure to stimulants. http://web.as.uky.edu/Biology/faculty/cooper/Bio401G/nicotineDesen.pdf #4 - Recent drug research on new antidepressants has been targeting nAChRs: http://www.hindawi.com/journals/tswj/2012/104105/ So here's my basic hypothesis: Many of us eat a large amount of choline-rich food, so we can easily synthesize lots of acetylcholine. The constant exposure to plentiful acetylcholine in conjunction with other internal and external stimulators of nAChRs can result in desensitization of the nAChRs in our brains, dysfunction of which receptors is associated with depression. Botox allows a "reboot" of the system by cutting the acetylcholine supply for a while, allowing the nAChRs to become more sensitive again. And here's how to test it (beside getting botox treatments): Go on a low-choline diet (unless you're pregnant or otherwise unable to) for 3-4 days, during which it would probably be good to also avoid anything that would mess with nAChRs (esp. nicotine, alcohol, and recreational drugs). See if you feel different a couple weeks later. Don't do the low-choline diet for an extended period, though. We need choline, just maybe not quite as constantly as we get it. Also, try gardening. Soil often contains botox in very small amounts. Therapeutic horticulture has been repeatedly observed to help lessen clinical depression. Caution: Take care not to have too much acid in your mouth on a regular basis in order to avoid inactivating an enzyme that breaks down acetylcholine. Study: “pH-dependent hydrolysis of acetylcholine: Consequences for non-neuronal acetylcholine” “Both esterases are pH-dependent with an optimum at pH above 7, whereas at pH values below 6 particularly the specific acetylcholinesterase is more or less inactive. Thus, acetylcholine is prevented from hydrolysis at such low pH values.” https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/25929445 The brain is right next to the oral/nasal cavity. “University of Iowa neuroscientist John Wemmie, M.D., Ph.D., is interested in the effect of acid in the brain. His studies suggest that increased acidity or low pH, in the brain is linked to panic disorders, anxiety, and depression. But his work also suggests that changes in acidity are important for normal brain activity too.” http://medicalxpress.com/news/2012-05-acid-brain-team-function.html Many common soft drinks and beverages have a pH under 4. (There is an error on one PPT slide where I wrote coffee has a pH under 4, but that is incorrect, for coffee has a pH range of 4.5-7; I was probably thinking of lemony iced tea instead.) http://www.sheltondentistry.com/patient-information/ph-values-common-drinks/ Suggestions on helping the mouth not be too acidic: Drink slightly alkaline (pH just over 7) water between meals if you know your mouth environment is unusually acidic. There are filter pitchers that will increase the pH of your drinking water while it sits in the refrigerator. After drinking soda pop or other highly acidic drinks, rinse your mouth with a mixture of water and a little baking soda. Spit it out afterward. Watch your use of fresh lemon juice and vinegar, which are highly acidic.
