Setting SMART Goals For Your Marketing and Business
http://inboundmarketing.avantivision.com/blog/using-smart-goals-for-your-business Setting SMART goals is the first step in defining success. In this video we will go over exactly what a SMART goal is and why it benefits you to set these type of goals. In this video, we talk about the S.M.A.R.T. goal framework and how you can leverage it for your business. Smart goals allow you to take very broad or vague goals and turn them into smaller, actionable goals. And though the Smart goal framework can be applied to just about anything in life, in particular, they can be used to implement a successful marketing campaign for your business. SMART stands for: Specific Measurable Attainable Relevant Timely The specific part stands for anything we can track and put a factual number too. For example, if you're using analytics on your website you can track visitors, leads or customers. So, we could essentially put one of these into our Smart goal. Since we now have so much more access to data, metrics and analytics, we no longer have to guess at what's working (unlike print, radio or TV advertising).Being specific as to what you want to track or improve is the first step in the framework. Measurable means how many more leads, visitors or customers do we want. Provide a real number from your metrics and not one based out of thin air. Attainable sets a realistic goal that will be attainable for you. However, you must know what your numbers currently are in order to set this. You should have a benchmark number that you can launch from and then you can measure from there. Relevant merely relates to the overall end goal that you are trying to achieve. Timely means that you're going to include a number in your goal. For examble, by 6 months or by the end of the year. So, now that we know what it means, what does a smart goal look like? I want to increase visits(S) by 50%(M) (2500 per month to 5000 per month)(A) by December 31st 2014(T). Above is an example of a smart goal. Notice this goal has a specific number which we'll be able to measure going forward. This goal is attainable because we based it on factual data from our analytics - not some number based off of intangibles. The goal is also relevant because it relates to an overall goal - increasing visits: which could lead to increased conversion and sales. Lastly the goal is timely because we put a time frame to it. http://youtu.be/xqFgYMc7ke8

Business Goals And Objectives
In the 2nd video in our tutorial series from http://affiliatecounselor.com is about starting an online enterprise we examine some of the business goals and objectives that should be set down before the actual plans go into effect. Your business goals should clearly state the actions you plan on taking to get your business off the ground. If your goals are accomplished then your online business will be a successful. Without some clear business goals and objectives you undoubtedly will accomplish very little. This will be your blueprint for online success. If you are uncomfortable setting up a website, then you need to write down the task of hiring one. Come back as often as necessary to this plan and makes sure it is accomplished. Goal setting is a necessary part of tracking the progress of your business. You can write these down on a piece of paper or use an online service like Todist or Trello. Your business goals and objectives should also include a clear delegation of responsibility. For instance, goal #1 will be accomplished when you hire a website developer, but goal #2 will only be met when your developer has completed her assigned task. Your goals should be challenging and specific. Remember, your purpose is to step out of your comfort zone and take pride in the tasks that you accomplish. Specificity will keep everyone in your business on the same page and prevent tasks from being swept under the rug. Here Are Some Examples of Business Goals And Objectives: Find new products my customers would like to buy. Create an attractive website where my products can be found with ease. Improve my relations with the customers on my mailing list. Develop a joint venture relationship to improve my online company's efficiency. These are just the first step. Your goal-setting needs to break down these larger objectives and determine how they will be accomplished. Who will be doing what, how will they be doing it and when should these tasks be completed, etc. In sum, your business goals and objectives should be a detailed step-by-step blueprint of making you a successful internet entrepreneur. #businessgoals

Goals and Objectives - Identifying the Difference
Visit http://www.successpowered.com to learn how to achieve your goals and objectives Oftentimes people refer to goals and objectives as if they're the same thing. They are, in fact, different. A goal, used in this context, is a broad definition. For example, saying that you want to become a better runner is a goal. It is general and broad in nature and lacks specifics. An objective, on the other hand, is quite specific. It further defines a goal. To continue with our running example, an objective can be stated as such, "I would like to run a sub five minute mile." Without question, goals and objectives are similar and can be complementary to each other. With a goal there is no pressure to be specific. It is, in fact open ended. Setting goals is effective as a broad outline for something you want to achieve. However, because of its fundamental nature of being broad and open-ended, it is not the ideal way to achieve something. That's where objectives come in. Objectives are defined and measured in both time and by what is accomplished. If there is something meaningful and specific that an individual wants to accomplish then they are far better served defining objectives as opposed to setting goals. When explaining how objectives work the SMART acronym is commonly used. It is defined as follows: S - Specific M - Measurable A - Attainable R - Realistic T - Timed When we understand how the two complement each other we can then formulate a plan to accomplish a desired task. For instance, if you have a goal in mind, the best way to achieve it is to define a series of objectives that will move you toward your goal. Think of it as a roadmap of sorts. Although that may be a bit of a clumsy metaphor. To summarize, a goal is a broad, direction setting statement. It describes what you want to achieve through your efforts. An objective is more specific and has the potential to be measured. Both are designed to get you to take action and work quite well to complement each other when one understands the distinction between the two. So the next time you want to achieve something remember to state your goal and then further define it by outlining your objectives. By doing that you will have focus and direction as you move toward your stated purpose. That's how to effectively put goals and objectives to work for you. http://www.successpowered.com

What is OPERATIONAL PLANNING? What does OPERATIONAL PLANNING mean? OPERATIONAL PLANNING meaning - OPERATIONAL PLANNING definition - OPERATIONAL PLANNING explanation. Source: Wikipedia.org article, adapted under https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/3.0/ license. Operational planning is the process of planning strategic goals and objectives to tactical goals and objectives. It describes milestones, conditions for success and explains how, or what portion of, a strategic plan will be put into operation during a given operational period, in the case of commercial application, a fiscal year or another given budgetary term. An operational plan is the basis for, and justification of an annual operating budget request. Therefore, a five-year strategic plan would typically require five operational plans funded by five operating budgets. Operational plans should establish the activities and budgets for each part of the organization for the next 1 – 3 years. They link the strategic plan with the activities the organization will deliver and the resources required to deliver them. An operational plan draws directly from agency and program strategic plans to describe agency and program missions and goals, program objectives, and program activities. Like a strategic plan, an operational plan addresses four questions: Where are we now? Where do we want to be? How do we get there? How do we measure our progress? The operations plan is both the first and the last step in preparing an operating budget request. As the first step, the operations plan provides a plan for resource allocation; as the last step, the OP may be modified to reflect policy decisions or financial changes made during the budget development process. Operational plans should be prepared by the people who will be involved in implementation. There is often a need for significant cross-departmental dialogue as plans created by one part of the organization inevitably have implications for other parts. Operational plans should contain: 1. clear objectives; 2. activities to be delivered; 3. quality standards; 4. desired outcomes; 5. staffing and resource requirements; 6. implementation timetables; and 7. a process for monitoring progress.

GOAL SETTING: Planning Our Business Goals For The Whole Year In One Day // Kimberly Ann Jimenez

Strategies, goals and productivity milestones we want to reach and I can’t tell you how impactful that has been for both of our businesses. This year we got to do our planning in beautiful Rincon Puerto Rico and although it’s almost the end of Quarter 1 I wanted to show you how you can still do this whether you’re watching this at the beginning, middle or even towards the end of the year for your own business. Unplugging for a whole day to get your game plan together can be the difference between reaching every single one of your goals or falling short. So if you’re haven’t done so already, you’re not too late to get your strategy ironed out. Setting Employee Goals
http://blog.hr360.com/hr-blog/setting-employee-goals-video-blog Video Highlights: 0:02 Every supervisor and employee should set goals. 0:42 Employees who set goals increase both their commitment and motivation, and they become more invested in their jobs and long-term career plans. 0:53 The goal-setting process allows employers to direct employees’ efforts toward maximizing accomplishments and toward supporting the company’s own long-term goals. 1:11 Goal setting will be most successful when you provide each employee with clear expectations regarding performance that are tied to an understanding of how his or her individual work contributes to the company’s overall goals. 1:26 There are seven key criteria that your goals should meet. 1:31 Be specific. Clearly communicate the tasks or behaviors employees must accomplish or demonstrate to achieve successful results. 1:47 Be realistic. Set goals that are challenging, but attainable based on your employee’s knowledge, skills, and resources. 2:09 Choose goals that can be measured, and make sure your employees understand exactly how they will be assessed. 2:27 Use your calendar – and set deadlines. 2:45 As you set goals, remember to prioritize. 3:05 Evaluating goals is also important. Since goals are designed to support both the company and the employee’s personal development, you should evaluate and update goals based on changing business needs and the employee's progress. 3:20 Coordinate your employees' goals so that they complement one another.
