What should I take for pain after I get my tonsils out? Summary: Take pain medications on a scheduled basis in the first few days. Don't wait for the pain to kick in. It is much easier to stay ahead of the pain rather than try and catch up once it is already out of control. Most doctors recommend alternating Tylenol and ibuprofen (Advil, Motrin) and prescribe a narcotic like morphine for breakthrough pain or as a rescue medication. If you are prescribed a narcotic combination drug like norco, vicodin, percocet, lortab; these already contain Tylenol so do not take additional Tylenol. If you are taking narcotics, they can cause nausea, constipation, lightheadedness, and other side effects. Be careful, don't drive. Also consider taking a stool softener. Not all doctors are ok with ibuprofen (Advil or Motrin). Medical Disclaimer: All comments are generalizations and intended to be for educational purposes only. Tramadol vs. Hydrocodone. Overview. Tramadol and hydrocodone are two types of potent pain relievers called opioid analgesics. They’re often used to treat moderate to severe pain, such as long-term pain related to cancer or other chronic conditions. They can also treat pain from an injury or surgery. Hydrocodone is intended for severe chronic pain when nonopioid pain relievers, such as ibuprofen and acetaminophen, haven’t helped. These drugs have a powerful effect on your brain. They’re both highly effective, but they work in different ways. These drugs also come with their own side effects. Here’s what to know about how tramadol and hydrocodone are similar and different. How they work. Both tramadol and hydrocodone attach to receptors in your brain to change your perception of pain. However, tramadol also allows the chemical messengers norepinephrine and serotonin to remain available to your brain for a longer period. It is believed that this helps block pain signals in your spinal cord. Differences at a glance. Tramadol. Generic available—Yes. Brand name—ConZip, Ultram. Forms—Immediate-release tablets and extended-release tablets. Strengths—Immediate release: 50 mg; extended release: 100 mg, 150 mg, 200 mg, 300 mg. Unique side effects: flushing. congestion. sore throat. headache. itching. weakness. seizures. Hydrocodone. Generic available—No Brand name— Zohydro ER, Hysingla ER Forms—Extended-release tablets (Immediate-release hydrocodone is only available in combination products in which it’s combined with other drugs.) Strengths—Extended release: 20–120 mg Unique side effects: confusion. low blood pressure. respiratory depression. gastric obstruction. Side effects Common side effects of both drugs include: dizziness. drowsiness. constipation. loss of appetite. nausea and vomiting. However, tramadol may also cause: flushing. congestion. sore throat. headache. itching. weakness. Most of these mild side effects will resolve within a few days. Serious side effects. More serious side effects of both drugs can include: mood problems. hypersensitivity reactions, including swelling of the tongue or throat, trouble. breathing, and skin rash. Additionally, tramadol can cause seizures. Hydrocodone can also cause: confusion. low blood pressure. respiratory depression. gastric obstruction. Get immediate medical attention or call 911 if you have any serious side effects. from either drug. Risk factors. Certain people may be more at risk of side effects. Side effects of both drugs are more likely or can be more intense if you are a senior. They can also be more intense if you have kidney or liver disease, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, or other chronic diseases. People with depression who take tramadol may be at increased risk of suicide. Interactions. Tell your doctor and pharmacist about all the medications you take. Many drugs can interact. For example, alcohol and certain over-the-counter drugs that cause sleepiness, including cough or cold formulas, can increase the sedating effect of these drugs. Warnings. Hydrocodone comes with a black box warning about the potential for misuse. According to the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA), hydrocodone is associated with more misuse than any other opioid. It is possible to develop a tolerance to either drug, especially if you don’t take it exactly as your doctor prescribes it. Building a tolerance to a drug means that the same dosage no longer achieves the same effect. People who develop a tolerance often take more of the drug than recommended to get the same feeling. Tolerance can often lead to dependence. You’re more likely to develop dependence on these drugs if you have a history of drug or alcohol misuse. If you feel yourself becoming dependent, contact your doctor right away. Don’t stop taking the drug, especially if you have taken it for weeks or months. Your doctor will adjust your dosage to slowly taper you off the drug. This helps prevent withdrawal. Tell your doctor right away if you have withdrawal symptoms when you stop taking either of these drugs. Deciding which one to take. Before your doctor can recommend an opioid, it’s important that you discuss all underlying medical conditions. List all your over-the-counter and prescription medications and supplements. Tell your doctor if you’ve ever had a problem with alcohol or substance misuse. Discuss the potential side effects and benefits of these and other opioids with your doctor. Together, you can choose the least potent treatment necessary to relieve your pain. All Photos Licensed Under CC Source : www.pexels.com www.pixabay.com www.commons.wikimedia.org

Watch more Tattoos, Piercings & Other Body Art videos: http://www.howcast.com/videos/199158-How-to-Minimize-the-Pain-of-Getting-a-Tattoo Getting a tattoo will never be a walk in the park, but it can be less painful if you take a few simple precautions. Step 1: Go to a licensed tattoo artist who sterilizes their equipment and uses disposable needles and gloves. The discomfort of getting tattooed is nothing compared to the pain of getting an infection from it. Step 2: Schedule your tattoo for the morning. This is when your pain tolerance is highest, thanks to peak levels of adrenaline, a hormone that helps us endure pain. Step 3: Wear loose clothes, especially if they are going to be covering your new tattoo. Step 4: Eat something before you go to reduce the chances of passing out from a combination of nerves and hunger. Step 5: Take a non-aspirin pain reliever like ibuprofen about 20 minutes before the procedure. Tip Don't drink alcohol or take aspirin in the 24 hours beforehand; it will thin your blood, increasing bleeding. Step 6: Choose an area of your body that has more flesh and less bone and nerve endings, like biceps, calves, and thighs, rather than bony areas or nerve centers like the rib cage, top of foot, and abdomen. Step 7: Know what to expect. The pain is often described as a cat scratching your sunburned skin. Breathe deeply, focus on your breath, and try not to move. The post-tattoo pain will feel the same, minus the cat. Step 8: During the procedure, if the pain is intense, your tattoo artist can apply a topical anesthetic. Think carefully before you ask for one; side effects include a longer healing time and a loss of color in the finished product. Warning Applying excess amounts of a high-concentration topical anesthetic and covering up the tattoo afterward can result in seizures. Step 9: Follow the tattoo artist's instructions regarding aftercare. The tattoo should heal in about three weeks, during which time you shouldn't swim or expose it to the sun. After that, go ahead and flaunt it! Did You Know? Democrats are slightly more likely to have tattoos than Republicans and independents.

UPDATE: In this video, I am showing you guys what the "proper" procedure would be, but it is by no means the fastest. If you want the fastest way, follow chemplayers method. I just prefer to not evaporate solvents, but that takes extra time. I would use a gravity filtration though in both cases though. It's just as fast and doesn't have as many problems as a vacuum one. Still do a recrystallization though. Without a recryst/hot filtration, the ASA is still pretty dirty. Hey guys, today we are starting on the journey from Aspirin to Tylenol. Take Dr. Berg's Free Keto Mini-Course: http://pxlme.me/-i717vtY or go here: https://www.drberg.com/how-to-do-ketosis Download Keto Essentials https://m.me/drericberg?ref=w2128577 Dr. Berg talks about the 7 Surprising things that can kick you out of ketosis: 1. Stress 2. Excessive caffeine 3. Bone broth and whey protein (and even L-Glutamine 4. MSG (monosodium glutamate) hidden in lots of foods – sauces 5. Artificial sweeteners (aspartame, saccharine) 6. Excess protein 7. Keto-friendly deserts (excessive xylitol) Hey guys, I want to create an important video on this 7 surprising things that can kick you out of ketosis. You may know the typical things like sugar and refined carbohydrates but these are the things that you may not know that are important. Stress can kick you out of ketosis because stress activates a hormone called cortisol. Cortisol is the main adrenal hormone that adapts the body to stress. So any type of stress, shock to the system, surgery, trauma, allergies and even the loss of the love ones can activate stress, stress in your job or relationship stress could actually knock you out of ketosis. Next one is the excessive caffeine, one cup of coffee is not going to do anything but if you are doing coffee or tea all day long with caffeine too much of that can activate adrenaline which can then activate insulin. Bone broth in large quantities, a little bit of bone broth is not going to be an issue, I’m talking about protein. Protein can bump you out. I am not too concerned about bone broth, even when you are fasting it may knock you out a little bit but it is a very small amounts. Whey proteins is one of the top proteins, because it is a low fat and is a high protein that will stimulate insulin and knock you out with ketosis. L-Glutamine, people take that for their digestive system and they can get irritable bowel syndrome, it is a protein and can knock you out in ketosis. I am not concerned about you taking that because it really helps you in a certain ways, it is not going to put weight on but the only reason that I’m bringing it up is if you test yourself and all of the sudden it knocks you out, don’t be concerned if that’s what doing it, it is a temporary thing but it will knock you out. And then we have MSG, Monosodium glutamate another name for that is modified food starch. It is in so many foods, it is easy to avoid if you are shopping but it is very hard to avoid if you are going out to restaurants because they have it in the sauces, dressings, in some of the flavor enhancers, any food that just taste too good typically has MSG on it especially if it is a fast-food restaurant. The next one, artificial sweeteners Aspartame, Splenda - that has actual dextrin, saccharine and Maltodextrin. Still day 2. The following are medications and doses I recommend. But that being said again I am no doctor. Just someone who's been here many many times and knows a lot about these medications. If you do have questions the safest bet is to contact your doctor. Any doctor. .1 mg clonodine. .1-.2 mg 2-3 times a day depending on severity of symptoms. I currently only use this at night as it makes me so so weak and tired. It's a blood pressure med and old school bit of withdrawal arsenal. I wouldn't take for more then a week due to possible rebound hypertension. .25-1 mg xanax, or whatever benzo. Don't substitute one addiction for another!!! Use sparingly, and only at night if possible. Don't use for more then a few days if possible. 50 mg trazodone. Old school med used for a variety of things including most commonly depression and insomnia. Some people need a higher dose. 100 mg is really good for me. I wouldn't go higher then 150 mg ever. Above meds are prescription meds that most doctors will give you for opiate withdrawal. 15-30 mg loperamide(Imodium) every 6-8 hours if needed. Or every 12-24 as needed. Dose can be higher or lower depending on severity of addiction. People have become dependent on this. This honestly is only something I do if I have no other option. With the prescriptions that I have during this detox the loperamide isn't usually needed. Last resort...So again don't substitute addictions!! In high doses it can almost completely eliminate w/d for some people. And some only need the loperamide. I personally only take this for a day or two and taper my last couple doses down. As I believe having a BM is better then not, to continue to clean you out. (Please note high doses taken for a long period, or even a short period can prolong the length of your w/d, similar to the way a Suboxone taper would.. So this choice is entirely up to you. Taken as directed will at least help with diarrhea). Other helpful meds and things: ibuprofen. Ginger. Fish oil. Multivitamins. Healthy food. Hot baths and showers. Exercise. Magnesium. Epsom salt. Electrolytes. Sugar and caffeine at times. Marijuana. Distraction. Distraction. Distraction. If I can do this after over a decade. You can to. Do your research. Listen to people's stories of recovery. Find and keep a hobby. Anything. Get your soul back. ❤️

Are you having pain after dental implant surgery and are in need of managing it? Watch this video to learn about narcotics and the role they play with dental implant recovery. Dr. Parsa Zadeh explains that narcotics are secondary to pain control as they do not take the pain away rather make a patient not to care about the pain. Dr. Parsa Zadeh answers a series of important questions such as: What role do narcotics play for dental pain? Why is narcotic medication habit forming? Who is the most vulnerable to narcotic addiction? How do individuals become addicted to narcotics? What action should be taken for narcotic medication? In this video, Dr. Parsa Zadeh explains that narcotic pain medications such as vicodin, norco, and percocet fall under schedule 2 of medications. The role of narcotics for dental pain is secondary to pain control. Narcotics do not effectively take the dental pain away but it makes the patient able not to care about the pain. When it comes to either a tablet of vicodin or hydrocodone to 1000 acetaminophen, acetaminophen does more as an analgesic than a narcotic. Vicodin will allow for a patient not to care by providing euphoric action. They are habit forming as your brain will continue to seek that feeling. Narcotic addictions are quite high in the states, especially in the Midwest. Most addicts have been introduced following a dental visit such as a wisdom tooth extraction. The 17 or 18 year old can be prescribed vicodin, norco and percocet for them to be comfortable from the pain after dental implant surgery. Although they become “comfortable” now you have introduced them to a drug where they are not familiar with, which leads to a possibility of an individual looking to further seek out for more of this euphoric addiction. Dr. Parsa Zadeh has the mission to reduce and try to to eliminate prescribed narcotics to younger individuals. It is his opinion and policy to reduce and eliminate the prescription of narcotic pain medication to younger people. Have any questions? Don’t hesitate to leave us a comment about what you are wondering about for dental implants! In the next video, Dr. Parsa Zadeh will talk about how you can find the best dentist for your implant surgery.
