Here’s How Our body is a factory that works tirelessly. When something does not work well on the body, it shows warning signs. The signs should never be taken lightly. Unlike the common cold or other diseases, heart attacks can be difficult to detect. However, a team of researchers has discovered that it is possible to predict a heart attack months in advance. ATTACK ON THE HEART: CAUSES AND WARNING SIGNS Heart attack or myocardial infarction is the leading cause of death worldwide, According to the WHO In the United States, more than 610,000 people die of this disease every year. Myocardial infarction refers to the death of a part of the heart muscle due to a blockage of blood flow to the heart. This interruption of blood flow is the result of blockage of a coronary artery, caused by blood clots or plaque (buildup of fat) on the walls. This cardiovascular disease mainly affects men over 50 and women between 65 and 70 years. However, younger people can also have a heart attack. Namely, days, weeks and even months before a heart attack occurs, Your body will give you some warning signs. And one of the signs can be found in your hair: your hair will contain higher levels of the hormone cortisol, which is a warning sign of heart attacks! High levels of cortisol can usually be measured through the blood, urine or saliva samples in days/hours before a heart attack occurs, but the hair is completely different. Hair samples may show high cortisol levels weeks or months before your heart attack occurs. A 6-inch thread is sufficient for this purpose. This was demonstrated by an investigation that focused on analyzing hair samples of 56 people who had a heart attack and then compare them with hair of people who never suffered a heart attack, but who had other health problems. In addition to your hair, four of the main symptoms of heart attack are: Chest pains, even though any pain in the chest does not necessarily mean you have a heart attack. You may also feel pain in your neck, arms, back, and even your jaw. The second sign is sweating and nausea, the third is trouble breathing and the fourth is stomach problems. HOW TO PREVENT AN ATTACK TO THE HEART? It is possible to reduce the risk of heart attack by adopting a healthy lifestyle. PHYSICAL ACTIVITY Include a little exercise in your daily schedule to control your weight, Keep your heart healthy and prevent many diseases such as overweight, diabetes, etc. It is also necessary to control blood pressure, cholesterol and blood sugar, factors involved in the occurrence of heart attacks.

Signs That Your Spirit World Is Trying To Help You (Warn You)!

04:21
Have you ever felt like you are being watched when no one is around? Have you been in a normal temperature room and suddenly your body gets a chill and goosebumps? Have you found a feather or a dime in the strangest of places? The spirit world will work through different elements to help you. HERE ARE FIVE SIGNS THAT THE SPIRIT WORLD IS TRYING TO HELP YOU: 1. ELECTRICAL COMPONENTS BEGIN TO ACT UP. The ethereal world is in a higher vibration than our 3D earth. The spirit world will utilize televisions, radios, computers, cell phones, and lights to convey messages. When their matter is on overload it will affect our world and usually it’s in times of distress. Your deceased loved one, or spirit guide is trying to help you with something. Are you thinking of a loved one who has been gone for a while? Sometimes during these moments a special song will come on letting you know that your loved one is near you. It’s during these moments that we find the veil of the different dimensions thinning out into our world. 2. CHANGES IN ROOM TEMPERATURE. Have you ever been warm and suddenly a chill takes over? Or, have you ever walked into a new situation and feel like your body is aching with coldness? The spirit world might just be warning you or letting you know that you are protected. The same way that cold can appear, heat is another element that can warn you. There are times that a hot flash appears throughout the body and its discomfort forces us to take notice of the environment. Sudden changes in the environment of a house, car, or other places can convey a mystical sense of protection. Ask your guides to show you signs. What is happening around? Watch your thoughts. The spirit world is telepathic and can sense your thoughts and emotions. 3. NUMBER SEQUENCES APPEAR REPETITIVELY. Are you seeing consecutive numbers in license plates, the clock, addresses, or mail boxes? Number sequences hold special meanings. Doreen Virtue, author and speaker of metaphysical subjects, believes that these number sequences are communications from the angels. Pay attention to repetition. Do your research and find out what your guides and loved ones are trying to convey. 4. SPECIAL FRAGRANCES. The spirit world has a way to conjure up memories through familiar smells. Have you been smelling roses or gardenias, especially in a place that has no flowers? Do you smell cigar smoke in your car? It might just be your deceased father trying to tell you to slow down. Smells force us to take notice. The spirit world will follow you around with certain fragrances as to force you to leave the thoughts of depression or frustration. Pay attention to those moments when these smells show up. Thank your angels and guides. 5. ANIMALS START TO ACT OUT. Is your cat running around like she’s on an overdose of catnip? Is your dog barking at a corner in the room where there is no one? Animals sense and see what our human eyes cannot. They will begin to act out in different levels: some wagging their tails while others show fear of what’s in the room. Usually a way to clear the air is to sage the room. Your spirit guides and loved ones may just be trying to communicate with you but your mind is so busy that you are not able to receive the messages. Comfort your animals while comforting your spirit.

Seamus, a 15-year-old cat, has hypertension. His heart rate had been astoundingly high (204 over 185.) He is, by all standards, blind, and a blood vessel that burst in his right eye has now caused most of his eye to go well. This series of videos will track Seamus' progress as he gets better (or worse) and has to deal with re-adjusting to life.

Cardiomyopathy: Symptoms, Treatment, and Prevention

10:41
Cardiomyopathy: Symptoms, Treatment, and Prevention What is cardiomyopathy? Cardiomyopathy is a progressive disease of the myocardium, or heart muscle. In most cases, the heart muscle weakens and is unable to pump blood to the rest of the body as well as it should. There are many different types of cardiomyopathy caused by a range of factors, from coronary heart disease to certain drugs. These can all lead to an irregular heartbeat, heart failure, a heart valve problem, or other complications. Medical treatment and follow-up care are important. They can help prevent heart failure or other complications. What are the types of cardiomyopathy? Cardiomyopathy generally has four types. Dilated cardiomyopathy The most common form, dilated cardiomyopathy (DCM), occurs when your heart muscle is too weak to pump blood efficiently. The muscles stretch and become thinner. This allows the chambers of your heart to expand. This is also known as enlarged heart. You can inherit it, or it can be due to coronary artery disease. Hypertrophic cardiomyopathy Hypertrophic cardiomyopathy is believed to be genetic. It occurs when your heart walls thicken and prevent blood from flowing through your heart. It’s a fairly common type of cardiomyopathy. It can also be caused by long-term high blood pressure or aging. Diabetes or thyroid disease can also cause hypertrophic cardiomyopathy. There are other instances that the cause is unknown. Arrhythmogenic right ventricular dysplasia (ARVD) Arrhythmogenic right ventricular dysplasia (ARVD) is a very rare form of cardiomyopathy, but it’s the leading cause of sudden death in young athletes. In this type of genetic cardiomyopathy, fat and extra fibrous tissue replace the muscle of the right ventricle. This causes abnormal heart rhythms. Restrictive cardiomyopathy Restrictive cardiomyopathy is the least common form. It occurs when the ventricles stiffen and can’t relax enough to fill up with blood. Scarring of the heart, which frequently occurs after a heart transplant, may be a cause. It can also occur as a result of heart disease. Other types Most of the following types of cardiomyopathy belong to one of the previous four classifications, but each has unique causes or complications. Peripartum cardiomyopathy occurs during or after pregnancy. This rare type occurs when the heart weakens within five months of delivery or within the final month of pregnancy. When it occurs after delivery, it’s sometimes called postpartum cardiomyopathy. This is a form of dilated cardiomyopathy, and it’s a life-threatening condition. There’s no cause. Alcoholic cardiomyopathy is due to drinking too much alcohol over a long period of time, which can weaken your heart so it can no longer pump blood efficiently. Your heart then becomes enlarged. This is a form of dilated cardiomyopathy. Ischemic cardiomyopathy occurs when your heart can no longer pump blood to the rest of your body due to coronary artery disease. Blood vessels to the heart muscle narrow and become blocked. This deprives the heart muscle of oxygen. Ischemic cardiomyopathy is a common cause of heart failure. Alternatively, nonischemic cardiomyopathy is any form that isn’t related to coronary artery disease. Noncompaction cardiomyopathy, also called spongiform cardiomyopathy, is a rare disease present at birth. It results from abnormal development of the heart muscle in the womb. Diagnosis may occur at any stage of life. When cardiomyopathy affects a child, it’s called pediatric cardiomyopathy. If you have idiopathic cardiomyopathy, it means there’s no known cause. Who is at risk for cardiomyopathy? Cardiomyopathy can affect people of all ages. Major risk factors include the following: a family history of cardiomyopathy, sudden cardiac arrest, or heart failure coronary heart disease diabetes severe obesity sarcoidosis hemochromatosis amyloidosis heart attack long-term high blood pressure alcoholism According to research, HIV, HIV treatments, and dietary and lifestyle factors can also increase your risk of cardiomyopathy. HIV can increase your risk of heart failure and dilated cardiomyopathy, in particular. If you have HIV, talk to your doctor about regular tests to check the health of your heart. You should also follow a heart-healthy diet and exercise program. What are the symptoms of cardiomyopathy? The symptoms of all types of cardiomyopathy tend to be similar. In all cases, the heart can’t adequately pump blood to the tissues and organs of the body. It can result in symptoms such as: general weakness and fatigue shortness of breath, particularly during exertion or exercise lightheadedness and dizziness chest pain heart palpitations fainting attacks high blood pressure edema, or swelling, of your feet, ankles, and legs

http://www.balancedhealthtoday.com http://www.balancedhealthtoday.com/glytamins.html Kidneys are the organs that help filter waste products from the blood. They are also involved in regulating blood pressure, electrolyte balance, and red blood cell production in the body. Symptoms of kidney failure are due to the build-up of waste products in the body that may cause weakness, shortness of breath, lethargy, and confusion. Inability to remove potassium from the bloodstream may lead to abnormal heart rhythms and sudden death. Initially kidney failure may cause no symptoms. There are numerous causes of kidney failure, and treatment of the underlying disease may be the first step in correcting the kidney abnormality. Some causes of kidney failure are treatable and the kidney function may return to normal. Unfortunately, kidney failure may be progressive in other situations and may be irreversible. The diagnosis of kidney failure usually is made by blood tests measuring BUN, creatinine, and glomerular filtration rate (GFR). Treatment of the underlying cause of kidney failure may return kidney function to normal. Lifelong efforts to control blood pressure and diabetes may be the best way to prevent chronic kidney disease and its progression to kidney failure. As we age kidney function gradually decreases over time. If the kidneys fail completely, the only treatment options available may be dialysis or transplant. http://www.balancedhealthtoday.com/store http://www.balancedhealthtoday.com/store/glytamins.html

How can I decrease the chances of my baby having birth defects?

04:47
Not all birth defects are preventable, but there are things a woman can do to increase the chances of having a healthy baby. The Centers for Disease Control has challenged all women to make a PACT, or a commitment to themselves to do whatever they can to get healthy before trying to get pregnant. PACT is an acronym to help us remember what we can do. P is for Plan ahead. A is Avoid harmful substances. C is Choose a healthy lifestyle. T is Talk with your doctor. Let's start with P, or Planning ahead. One of the first things you can do is start today by taking a prenatal vitamin that has at least 400mg of folic acid. This ensures that there's enough folic acid in your system when you actually get pregnant. It will reduce the chances of your baby having spina bifida. There are different germ layers forming in the first couple of weeks after conception before you even know you're pregnant, and if there's not enough folic acid, that's when this can happen. So you need to plan ahead and take a prenatal vitamin even before you start trying to conceive. A is for Avoiding harmful substances. Avoid alcohol, smoking, illicit street drugs, and think twice about prescription medications, over-the-counter medications, and herbal supplements. There is no safe amount of alcohol at any time during pregnancy, so just avoid it. If you're trying to get pregnant, stop drinking before you even start the process. If you do drink during pregnancy, then it increases the chances of your baby having a host of complications that can last a lifetime for them. These are called fetal alcohol spectrum disorders. As for smoking, it increases the chances of complications during pregnancy, like preterm labor, preterm delivery, placenta previa, placental abruption. Then some women think "Oh, I've done great, I didn't smoke while I was pregnant.", but then they start again after the baby is born. Secondhand smoke can also be deadly to a baby and increase the chances of sudden infant death syndrome, also known as SIDS. If your own health isn't a good enough reason to quit, then let your baby's health be a good motivation to stop smoking. It's never too late. Because of common sense, most people figure that it's smart to stay away from illicit street drugs during pregnancy, and really, at anytime in life. But some people do question the use of marijuana and think that it might help with nausea during pregnancy or other discomforts that you feel during pregnancy. But it, too, is not safe and has been linked to developmental problems as a child gets older - lower IQ, attention deficit disorder - so stay away from marijuana. If you've been on any prescription medication, or are thinking about taking any over-the-counter pills or herbal supplements, talk with your OB provider first and make sure they're safe during pregnancy. C stands for Choose a healthy lifestyle. Talk with your doctor before you get pregnant. Make a preconception appointment, and they'll discuss your health history and decide if anything needs to get under control before you get pregnant. A couple of health conditions they'll talk to you about or consider are obesity, high blood pressure, thyroid problems, and diabetes. If these things are not well-controlled, then it can increase the chances of pregnancy complications and birth defects. Lastly, T stands for Talk with your health provider. They're always going to be your best resource, because they have a knowledge of your circumstances, and can give you the best advice if you have questions, and tailor it to your needs. But they'll also talk with you at your first few prenatal appointments, specifically about past infections, things that might pose a risk to you during pregnancy, like sexually transmitted infections, hepatitis. Take toxoplasmosis for example - this is a parasite that you can get from changing cat litter. So this is important for a pregnant woman to know, because it can affect your growing baby. If you have a cat at home and you're trying to conceive, then happily, you'll be able to pass that duty off to your partner until after you've had the baby. They'll also talk with you about immunizations that you should get during pregnancy, one of which is the flu shot, and another important one is the Tdap booster shot (tetanus, diphtheria & pertussis). Pertussis is the whooping cough piece, and babies are left vulnerable. They can get whooping cough during the first year of life, because they can't get their own immunization until around their 1st birthday. So the mother is given a Tdap booster shot after 27 weeks, and as her body builds up extra immunity, it's passed to the baby through the placenta, and that's what offers them protection until their 1st birthday. Pregnancy is a really exciting time, but it can also be super stressful. By doing these things, you'll at least have some peace of mind knowing that you did everything you could to make sure that your baby is as healthy as possible.

Heartworm Pet Meds (847) 742-3906 (South Elgin IL, St Charles IL, W Dundee IL )

05:35
Call 847-742-3906 Please Visit http://www.SouthElginVet.com I am Dr. Churan from the Animal Clinic of South Elgin, 896 North La Fox Street, South Elgin, IL 60177. This is my assistant Jenny and this is Arwin, one of our clinic dogs and she is a great dane. Arwin is frequently here at the clinic. Today we want to talk about heartworms. Heartworm is a blood parasite spread by mosquitoes thru your dog's bloodstream. When an infected mosquito bites your dog it injects a microscopic parasite to your dog's bloodstream. Within a period of 5 months it can grow up to a foot, lodges into your dog's heart and could kill your dog. During our annual Cat Wellness Examinations and Dog Wellness Examinations we test for parasite infections. We also may recommend a pet teeth cleaning. Heartworm Pet Meds are easy prevention. It is very easy to prevent this, however, by a once-a-month medication. Your canine needs to be tested annually and the reason for this is that it is very safe to kill the tiny microscopic heartworms that the mosquitoes are putting into your best furry friend; however, your canine could have an adult heartworm due to your canine not getting any heartworm medication at all, missing a dose due to one reason or another, the animal vomiting the medication after a scheduled dose, or the patient not receiving a dose because of a misunderstanding among the various owners. This leaves a window of opportunity where your pet could get infected. Heartworm Pet Meds require an annual blood test. Therefore, it is very important that your dog gets tested once a year, even if you have been giving the medication faithfully. The reason for this is if we kill an adult heartworm, it can clog the great vessels of the heart and your beloved pet could drop dead. This sudden death which could not be completely explained is something we never want to happen. Heartworm Pet Meds Blood Tests includes Lyme Disease Test. A internal parasite blood test that we do here at the Animal Clinic of South Elgin also tests for lyme disease and other tick diseases which are other emerging parasite problems in canine population. These are treatable diseases if we catch them early before permanent damage is done. For heartworm preventatives, we have a variety of brands which do many different things. The most basic e is a once-a-month pill that you give your dog to control this and 2 kinds of intestinal parasites. We have upgrade pills that take care of this parasite and 3 kinds of intestinal parasites. We also have Sentinel which has an additional ingredient that prevents fleas as well as take care of this and 3 kinds of intestinal parasites. That is our most popular preventative in this practice. Anybody who ever had fleas has found that it is easier to prevent flea infestation than treat the infestation itself. Giving your dog a pill once a month is easy compared to getting rid of the fleas in your household. We also have a topical heartworm preventative that you spray on the back of the dog's head. The reason some people choose this type is that some dogs do not cooperate when it comes to taking oral medication. Heartworm Pet Meds are also needed for cats. Cats could get infected by heartworms as well, although much less common than dogs. When cats get infected by this blood-based parasite, it is much more severe because cats are small and their hearts are also small. One worm could kill a cat. Cats have lung pathology rather than heart pathology so they develop asthma-type symptoms. This fatal parasite is also very preventable in cats by oral or topical medication once a month. Again, preventive measures, just like in people, are far better and easier than treatment after the infection. Heartowm Pet Meds are much cheaper than treatment. Heartworm can be treated. If your dog tested positive for this fatal parasite, he can be treated. The treatment, however, is not only expensive but also hard on the dog in the sense that the dog could be sick for a 6-week period. Preventing a possible permanent damage to your dog from internal parasites is a far better goal than treatment. We recommend preventative medications 12 months of the year since mosquito seasons are unpredictable. There is no season to intestinal parasites, however, so it is important to control these parasites year-round. In short, parasite prevention is a very good choice for your family and your dog. http://acse60177.vetinzip.com/veterinary-advice/heartworm-pet-meds/

Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy (HCM) Explained | Tufts Medical Center

01:28
Hypertrophic cardiomyopathy (HCM) is a genetic heart disease where there is increased thickness of the left ventricle, predominantly affecting the ventricular septum. There are two types of HCM—non-obstructive and obstructive. Obstructive HCM occurs when the mitral valve makes an abnormal motion and contacts the thickened septum obstructing the flow of blood from the left ventricle out of the heart, as well as causing leakiness (or regurgitation) of blood back into the left atrium. This obstruction to blood flow and mitral regurgitation creates high pressures in the heart and is the main cause of limiting symptoms in patients with obstructive HCM. Symptoms may include: shortness of breath with exertion, chest pain, dizziness, or exertional fatigue. Although there is no cure for HCM, there are several effective treatment options available to improve symptoms. The gray matter of cats has many similarities in the human brain. On average, a cat sleeps for 16 hours a day. If your cat is 9 years old, then it spent 6 years of his life asleep. Cats often find a place of their choice and make it their favorite place of sleep. Cats look very good in the dark. With age, the cat's eye color changes. Cute Cat can be trained to use human toilets and flash. Once you can train, the cat will always find the toilet to respond comfortably to the call of its nature. Despite a small size, there are about 290 bones and 517 muscles in a cat's body, where there are only 206 bones in the human body-which is much larger than the cat. Laura no longer takes insulin after 3 months in our Diabetes Reversal Program

08:30
My name is Laura Sanchez, I’ve been on Next Advanced Medicine for 3 months I’m going to deviate … My family are the poster children of what not to do in diabetes. My grandfather and father lost their eyesight and they both lost their leg. I have a cousin that went crazy after he got gang-green and died a week later. I have a cousin that is on dialysis every day. I have all kinds of cousins, and all kind of everything. I am positive that when I got told I got diabetes, I am positive I probably reacted like everyone in my family, and that is denial, then I went from denial to “Okay I’ll take the medicine”. Then my AIC was still high and the doctor was still yelling at me. So I thought “I have a good idea, I’ll just take more insulin”. So I started taking more and more insulin. When I got here I was taking 60 units of insulin. I didn’t know it was killing me, I didn’t know it causes high blood pressure. And that doesn’t make sense because I all the sudden had high my blood pressure and that doesn’t make sense because it was always low. So I have high blood pressure, I’m diabetic, I’m doing nothing good for myself, and I started losing my eyesight as well. I said to myself, “I know where that road goes, I know exactly where that road goes and I’m not taking it.” When I got here, My Friend told me about it, I got here and the presentation was amazing. The only thing I was worried about was that I wasn’t going to be accepted. And I was, three months later I am off of insulin! I don’t take any insulin, every morning I have to go “nope I don’t take insulin” and run out the door. Every day I have to do that. Because before I had to stop myself every morning and say “Did you take it”. And I would take more if I knew it was a potluck day, if I knew I was going to be eating bad, that kind of stuff. I Know my family did the same thing, I just didn’t want to do that. I wanted to learn and get off of this roller coaster. What enabled you to get off the insulin? It’s totally the diet, the supplements and the diet. I was amazed when I had to cut my insulin half, and then on my third month, they drew the viles of blood, and when I got the results, it was your A1C was 5.6. And that’s the magic number. My doctor called me back and confirmed it with all the numbers, and he confirmed I could get off the insulin and he lowered my glipizide. So Currently your AIC is 5.6 –which is below diabetic correct? Yes!. What was it before you started the program? I remember when he was yelling at me it was 11, then my last one was 6.8 but that was also with 60 units of insulin, 2 Metformins twice a day, and glipizide twice a day and everything else. I con myself all the time, I thought “I don’t take that much medicine”. Who in the world thinks that, I was on the glipizide, the metformin, the insulin, the Prozac, the Wellbutrin, the heart medicine and the cholesterol medicine, how in the world did I say, “I’m not taking that much” And I’ve lost 33 pounds, and this was right after I hit a plateau at the beginning of the month. I can’t really exercise, so I dance, and I do full body dance. I live alone, and my cat won’t tell on me. I go at it. What makes the difference for you here that is enabling you to change? It is that I see you every week, I’m accountable for every week. I have to test my blood every week. You have to be, you just have to be organized, I have to make breakfast, and lunch and snacks, and get my pills all ready for the day. And I wasn’t very organized. I ate breakfast and lunch at the office cafeteria which was “no good” food, I just never ate fruit. Now I eat fruit, I weigh and measure everything, and prepare everything and run out the door. The food is good, sometimes you miss different things, the other day they had a chocolate cake in the office, and I was just smelling the chocolate all day long. But the other side is, I was worried about losing my eyesight and losing my leg and when I want to cheat, I say “is it worth my eyesight or my leg?” And there is nothing worth that. So I grin and bear it. I am grateful that I am on this program, and it’s working! My mother does not know that I am off of insulin, my sister told me not to tell her until I see her next month, then you can tell her you’ve been off for a month or two, because she’ll worry about that. But it’s hard keeping the secret because I am so happy that I am not taking those shots (insulin) anymore! -Laura Sanchez, March 2018 Call 949-943-3535 to reserve your spot for our Diabetes Reversal Seminar!

HealthAlert: Does Red Meat Cause Heart Disease?

04:16
You've noticed that the past few times that you've eaten an apple, oddly enough your cat wants to go outside. Hmmm.... so, your apple eating causes your cat's sudden urge for fresh air. Sound silly? Indeed it does! However, it is these types of sweeping correlation equals causation conclusions that pervade much of the recent media reports on studies looking at certain foods and nutrients and their effect on the body. Why? Well, the answer is multi-faceted, but such dramatic reporting does indeed attention! But is it the truth? That's the real question! Today, we take a close look at a recent study published online in the journal Nature Medicine linking the L-Carnitine in red meat to heart disease. So then, does correlation equal causation here? Let's take a close look on today's episode of LivingFuelTV. You also learn great tips on which meats to enjoy and which to avoid.

Six Cardio Tests Provide Health Snapshot

01:59
With cardiovascular disease being the nation’s top killer, who wouldn’t want to know what’s going on inside them? Now getting a beat on your heart health is easier than ever before. “The nice thing about these tests is that they’re non-invasive. There’s going to be no discomfort with them, they can be done in one setting, they’re quick and easy and they can give us a great insight into the heart,” says Dr. Lynne Einbinder, who is an interventional cardiologist with Lee Memorial Health System. The heart lays at the center or ‘heart’ of our vascular system. Once blood leaves the heart it circulates throughout the body. And problems can pop up anywhere down the line. A group of six cardio tests, bundled together can provide a real-time health snapshot. It begins with an echocardiogram: “That’s an ultrasound of the heart. We’re able to look at the size and function of the heart. We’re able to look for any evidence of previous heart attack, heart damage, or any significant leakage of the heart valve,” says Dr. Einbinder. Next is an ultrasound of the aorta, which looks for aneurysms; followed by a carotid ultrasound. “We ultrasound the two arteries inside the neck and we look for evidences of blockages. Severe blockages can actually increase your risk of stroke,” says Dr. Einbinder. The ankle-brachial test is a telling test most people have never heard of. “We look at the blood flow down the legs. And it’s a very easy test to do. We just put some blood pressure cuffs down the legs in the same way that we put blood pressure cuffs on the arms,” says Dr. Einbinder. And don’t underestimate the EKG-which packs a powerful punch. “Even though it’s a simple test, it can give us a lot of information. It can look for heart arrhythmias, it can look for irregular heartbeats, it can also give us information about whether there’s been old heart attacks,” says Dr. Einbinder. The final screening is a blood pressure test. Taken with the others it provides a fuller picture of your health status. “The reason why we pick these tests is because these are very serious conditions that it can pick up,” says Dr. Einbinder. Top 16 Foods You Didn't Know Could Kill You | Killing Food

Top 16 Foods You Didn't Know Could Kill You | Killing Food Hello Friends, We are back a new video of your health.Thank you for Watching please subscribe the channel for more videos updated. Also find a soon.. https://www.facebook.com/Health-Video-143638489694269/ 1. Mushrooms Not every mushroom is created equal. Cremini mushrooms might make perfect pasta toppers, but some species contain poisons that can kill. 2. Tomatoes The juicy, red fruit contains a poison, glycoalkaloid, in its leaves, which is known for causing upset stomachs, severe cramping, and anxiety. So steer clear of the leaves and stems. 3. Rhubarb Leaves Rhubarb might bake up all kinds of delicious sweets, but the leaves are poisonous, causing breathing trouble, seizures, kidney failure, and in some cases, death. 4. Peanuts One of the most common allergies is to peanuts. The most severe response is anaphylaxis, which can lead to severe constriction of the airways, shock, and even loss of consciousness. It is dangerous enough to cause death if left untreated, so know your allergies before stepping anywhere near these babies or their addictive friend, peanut butter. 5. Shellfish A severe allergic reaction to shellfish can inhibit breathing and even be life-threatening. 6. Potatoes Potatoes have both poisonous stems and leaves, but even so, potato poisoning is rare. Most potato-related death deaths come from eating green potatoes or drinking potato leaf tea. 7. Cherries Watch out for cherry seeds, which contain poisonous hydrogen cyanide. 8. Raw Meat and Uncooked Eggs Raw meat — including red meat, poultry, and seafood — and uncooked eggs can contain salmonella bacteria, which can cause gastroenteritis in humans. Salmonella poisoning can also lead to serious complications, such as bacteremia (when salmonella enters the bloodstream), that are life-threatening to people with weaker immune systems. So light a flame under your meat to avoid any risks. 9. Almonds This seed (no, it isn't actually a nut) may pack in many health benefits — but they are also potentially full of poison. Bitter almonds, while in their raw form, are full of cynaide. They need to go through a specialized heat treatment (more than just your DIY oven roasting) in order to remove the toxins. 10. Hot Dogs The ballpark favorite is the leading cause of choking fatalities among children, so watch your little ones when they scarf 'em down. 11. Stone Fruit Seeds and Apple Seeds Apples and stone fruits — cherries, plums, apples, pears, peaches, and apricots — are nature's candy, but stay away from the seeds (as well as the bark and leaves). They contain amygdalin, a compound that produces cyanide. Large doses can lead to dizziness and vomiting, increased blood pressure, kidney failure, coma, and even death. 12. Elderberry We love us some berries, but the elderberry plant, used in medicinal syrups, sodas, and liquors, can cause a severely upset stomach, so stay away from the stems and leaves. 13. Castor Oil Castor oil comes from the castor bean plant, which is loaded with the poison ricin. Make sure the beans your castor oil was made from adhere to all safety guidelines. 14. Fugu (Puffer Fish) The puffer fish's skin and certain organs contain an extremely poisonous toxin that can paralyze a human and even cause death. 15. Live Octopus Be careful if you ever eat live octopus — the suction cups can get stuck to your throat if you don't chew thoroughly. And that does not sound pleasant. 16. Ackee This pear-shaped fruit needs to ripen fully, as it contains toxins that can lead to death. Importation of the raw food is banned in the U.S, but you can buy it canned. Tommy Handley - We Must Have Another Little One / Can You Say Bread And Butter... (1928)

05:37
Thomas Reginald "Tommy" Handley (17 January 1892 -- 9 January 1949) was a British comedian, mainly known for the BBC radio programme ITMA ("It's That Man Again"). He was born at Toxteth Park, Liverpool in Lancashire. He served with a kite balloon section of the Royal Naval Air Service during World War I and went on to work in variety, and in the infancy of radio became known as a regular broadcaster. He worked with people such as Arthur Askey and Bob Monkhouse, and wrote many radio scripts, but it is the BBC comedy series ITMA for which he is best known, and which itself became known for a number of catchphrases, some of which entered popular vocabulary.[1] He later starred in the ITMA film in 1942 and in Time Flies in 1944. In later years, he suffered with high blood pressure, the result of his driving commitment to ITMA, and died suddenly on 9 January 1949 from a brain hemorrhage, 8 days before his 57th birthday. He was cremated and interred at the Golders Green Crematorium. In a eulogy at his memorial service at St Paul's Cathedral, the Bishop of London, John W C Wand, said that "[h]e was one whose genius transmuted the copper of our common experience into the gold of exquisite foolery. His raillery was without cynicism, and his satire without malice..."
Students help save Lewisville teacher's life

02:06
LEWISVILLE, Texas – Life changed instantly one Wednesday for Alisha Byerly, a Lewisville ISD teacher. The day started like any other with Byerly teaching her 5th graders at Morningside Elementary. Then, her heart started beating out of control. “When it started to shake, I could feel it,” said Byerly. From then, everything happened like clockwork. “So we were over there and then she was laying back in the chair, and then she fell over,” recalled John Sunderland, one of Byerly’s 11-year-old students. “That's when we knew to go in the other room and call 911.” The school nurse grabbed a defibrillator. The P.E. teacher and Vice Principal took turns giving CPR. “I was really scared,” said Jillian Powell, 10. “I thought she died.” She did. But together they restored Byerly’s pulse and brought her back to life. “I remember down to my heart shaking,” said Byerly, back in her classroom where her heart stopped. “I remember being in this room after being revived.” By the time paramedics got Byerly to Texas Health Plano, the 42-year-old teacher was awake and talking: good blood pressure, no blocked arteries. “With her, I'm concerned about a particular genetic syndrome called long QT syndrome, where the heart starts misfiring in a chaotic way and needs to be shocked to restore normal rhythm,” explained Dr. Sumeet Chhabra, cardiac electrophysiologist at Texas Health Plano. Doctors decided to implant a small defibrillator through a 2-inch incision underneath Byerly’s collar bone in order to shock her heart if necessary. “Think about the defibrillator as a guardian angel,” said Dr. Chhabra. “It's with you at all times.” Seven days after her cardiac arrest, Byerly was back in her classroom. “They were already special students,” she said about John and Jillian. “But I don't know that I'll ever lose that connection with them.” Sunderland chimed in about helping to save their teacher’s life: “It feels good,” he said. “It feels like I've done something great.” Doctors acknowledged Sunderland and the other students and staff, too. “I give all the credit in the world to the students that were in that classroom, and the Vice Principal who came and saved her life,” said Dr. Chhabra. Byerly’s memory and motor skills are 100 percent normal. The lesson for this teacher? “If you listen to the whole story – and there are so many tiny pieces – God was there every step of the way,” said Byerly. “He wants me here. And I was with people I love and who love me and I can't imagine it happening anywhere else."
