5 Causes of Sudden Death
What are the causes of sudden death? What are the causes of sudden unexpected death? What are the risk factors for sudden death? What are the causes of sudden death in young? In this video, we have mentioned 5 causes of sudden death, given below: 1. Heart Attack: It is also called myocardial infarction or MI. It is a frightening and stressful condition. A usual mechanism of heart attack is when a plaque from a large artery breaks down and gets plugged in coronary artery, blocking the blood flow to a part of heart or heart muscles. Symptoms of heart attack include chest pain which may radiate to left shoulder, neck, jaw and left upper limb or arm. Most common risk factors of heart attack are high blood pressure, diabetes, high cholesterol, lack of exercise, poor diet, obesity and smoking. 2. Hypertrophic cardiomypathy 3. Coronary artery abnormalities 4. Long QT syndrome 5. Aortic catastrophe (aortic aneurysm, aortic dissection) Subscribe our medical channel for more videos!

Always seek the advice of a qualified healthcare provider with any questions you may have regarding a medical condition. Cardiomyopathy is a group of diseases that weaken the heart muscle - the myocardium, making it harder for the heart to pump blood. Cardiomyopathy reduces blood output, and may lead to heart failure. The condition may be inherited from a parent, or develop as a consequence of another disease or factor. Some patients do not experience any symptoms. When present, symptoms may include: shortness of breath, fatigue, rapid heartbeats, chest pain, swelling of lower limbs, dizziness and fainting. Progression of the disease varies greatly from person to person. In some people, symptoms may appear suddenly, and worsen quickly; while others see a gradual development over a long period of time. There are 3 MAJOR types of cardiomyopathy: - Hypertrophic cardiomyopathy, or HCM, is the thickening of the heart muscle. Most commonly, this occurs in the inter-ventricular septum facing the left ventricle. The thickened septum obstructs blood flow to the aorta, a condition called “outflow tract obstruction” or “obstructive hypertrophic cardiomyopathy”. Thickening elsewhere in the heart muscle causes non-obstructive HCM. In both cases, cardiac output is reduced. While HCM can develop as a result of high blood pressure or aging, it is most commonly inherited as an autosomal dominant trait: children of an affected parent have a 50% chance of inheriting the disease. Multiple mutations have been identified in genes encoding for proteins of the heart muscle. Genetic screening is recommended as the disease may progress rapidly, from asymptomatic to heart failure and cardiac arrest. In fact, HCM is the major cause of sudden cardiac death among young athletes. People who test positive for HCM are advised to avoid high-intensity activities. - Dilated cardiomyopathy, DCM, is the thinning of the myocardium and enlargement of a heart chamber, most commonly the left ventricle. DCM is usually acquired and the cause is unknown in most cases. Risk factors include high blood pressure; damage to the myocardium caused by previous heart attacks, alcohol or cocaine use, toxins or infections; and obesity or diabetes. While DCM may develop in anyone at any age, it is more common in men of middle age. Some DCM cases are inherited. - Restrictive cardiomyopathy, RCM, is when the heart muscle becomes rigid, lacking the elasticity required to properly fill and pump blood. RCM usually results from building-up of scar tissues or abnormal proteins, caused by a variety of conditions. RCM is more likely in older people. Less common types of cardiomyopathy include: arrhythmogenic right ventricular dysplasia, a condition in which the right ventricle tissue is scarred, causing arrhythmias; and stress cardiomyopathy, or broken heart syndrome: a sudden temporary weakening of the heart muscle triggered by excessive emotional or physical stress. Treatment varies depending on the type of cardiomyopathy, the underlying cause and severity of symptoms, and can range from life style changes, to medications and surgeries.

EXTREMELY GRAPHIC: Live Kill and Twice Cooked Blue Crabs
Get Your Good Afternoon Merchandise Here: https://shop.studio71us.com/collections/hiroyuki-terada From our comment section by: Jessibelle M. Louisiana girl here. ;) Blue crabs and crawfish are my specialty. Americans/whatever pay more for males because they've generally got more meat when harvested at the right time. Also, female blue crabs usually have the red tips on their claws. Although males are more saught-after, the statement about how female blue crabs taste better is true. :D It's the smaller compartments of meat separated by thinner divisions that discourage people; It's a lot more work to "clean" female crabs of their meat. lol. But they are more fatty and flavorful. p.s. fresh caught blue crabs that are alive when you bring them home but die during the purge process are 100% fine to cook as long as they are cooked within 1 hour of death. Enjoying fresh seafood has no equal, especially when it comes to shellfish. In some of our previous dishes, we show you how to make several mouth watering recipes; in this week's episode, Master Sushi Chef shows you how to make some delicious fresh Blue Crab with ginger and scallions. How To Recognize A Heart Attack One Month Before It Happens
How To Recognize A Heart Attack One Month Before It Happens Heart attacks or myocardial infarctions have been one of the leading causes of death in the US for many years. There is no doubt that one of the best ways to prevent a heart attack is to spot the onset of symptoms, sometimes a month or so in advance. The main problem is that many people who are at risk of having a heart attack are not even aware of the stress they are putting on their body. How does a heart attack happen? A heart attack is a serious medical condition in which the supply of blood to the heart is suddenly blocked, usually by a blood clot. It happens when there is a buildup of plaque in coronary arteries. This buildup causes a severe loss of blood supply to your heart, which in turn leads to a heart attack. In fact, a heart attack is a dead tissue that is killed during the loss of blood flow. This dead tissue results in experiencing extreme pain and squeezing, both of which are felt at the moment when your heart was attacked. We should all know that cardiovascular health is very important. After all, the heart is responsible for a hefty amount of work that keeps us alive! Learn the warning signs of a heart attack today and survive tomorrow. The sooner you recognize a heart attack and get treatment, the better. Here is a short list of the 6 most common symptoms you should look out for: 1. Cold sweats and dizziness When you have poor blood circulation, your brain will not get the proper blood flow it needs to function properly. This is a sign that you are in extreme danger, and you should seek medical attention right away. 2. Chest pressure This is one of the most noticeable signs of them all. This pressure is a clear sign that an attack is about to happen. Many people also ignore this tightness or chest pain, claiming that it is nothing or that it is normal, but it is not. Get a medical checkup immediately if you are experiencing strong pressure in your upper chest. 3. Weakness Becoming increasingly sweaty and weak, feeling nausea and jaw pain are another signaling symptoms that you may have a heart attack. This is because you arteries have continued to narrow. This certainly does not allow the proper blood flow throughout the body. 4. Cold and flu symptoms Many people have recorded developing cold and flu-like symptoms right before an attack happened. These are very scary signs, and you should rush to your doctor for a checkup. 5. Fatigue If you are feeling tired and drowsy all the time, it could be a result of the loss of blood flow to your heart. This happens when there is a sizable buildup of plaque in your arteries, the same arteries that carry blood to –and-from the heart. 6. Shortness of breath Due to the loss of blood flow, your lungs are going to suffer as well. When not enough blood gets to your lungs you will not be able to breathe in enough air, which is related to shortness of breath. If you are having great trouble breathing in and out, you should get in touch with your doctor immediately since this is a very bad sign. Causes of a heart attack in women While the initial causation can often be pinned on the usual suspects—heavy smokers, people with high-stress lifestyles, or those who are excessively overweight—the not-so-usual suspects can also be at high risk from heart attack. Heart disease is the No.1 killer of women, which is why it is imperative that women learn the warning signs and symptoms, see a doctor regularly, and learn their family history. Recapping: If you experience any of the above listed symptoms of a heart attack, you must get yourself up and to the doctor. The best way to prevent a heart attack is to treat the symptoms before it happens. And do whatever you can do to ensure that you have good cardiovascular health. We all ought to live a heart-healthy lifestyle because it could make the difference between life and death! Every year, almost eight hundred thousand people in North America suffer a heart attack. Many survive but some do not, especially if they’ve had more than one. A heart attack is most often indicative of coronary heart disease, which is a cumulative deterioration of the heart and circulatory system. When arteries get clogged with plaque, undue pressure is put on the heart to process blood. As a muscle, the heart itself can become weakened and stop working properly. A “heart attack” (myocardial infarction) can be caused by either coronary thrombosis (an arterial blood clot) or blocked blood supply to the heart. The experience of a heart attack is different for everyone; there isn’t always sharp pain—sometimes it’s a general slow breakdown with mild symptoms. Knowing the signs of a heart attack can help you to take steps to stave it off.

Top 7 Most Harmful Foods To Your Health And Your Heart
For more information on the Top 7 Most Harmful Foods To Your Health And Your Heart, CLICK HERE: http://www.lowcaloriesfoods.com/10-pounds In the US alone more than 2,150 people die due to heart disease daily, which makes it the number one cause of death for both men and women, according to the American Heart Association. We know that pizza, pasta, red meat, soft drinks and fast food can taste delicious, but those are the foods that do the most harm to your heart health. Look what foods make up this list. Here we'll leave you a list of the 7 most harmful foods, either by quantity or quality of fat, cholesterol, and salt. 1. Processed meat. The basic ingredient of hot dogs and sandwiches is composed of high amounts of sodium, preservatives, saturated fat and very little protein. In addition, there are studies that have linked processed meat with higher risks of diabetes and pancreatic cancer. 2. Red meat. Quitting processed meat does not mean abusing regular red meat of course. They continue to have high amounts of saturated fats. Best consider them as a reward in your diet. If you are not willing to give up meat completely, at least reduce its numbers. You'll do a huge favor to your body and the environment. 3. Pizza. Only one slice can contain up to 2/3 the recommended limit of saturated fat. If anyway you want to eat pizza occasionally, try to avoid that extra serving of cheese and better ask for vegetables instead of bacon and salami. 4. Pasta Alfredo. This paste looks harmless but is actually full of butter, cream, and cheese ... a bomb of saturated fat. If you really want to enjoy an alfredo pasta, replace butter with olive oil, cream with low-fat milk and moderate the amount of cheese. 5. Trans fats. These fatty acids are found in most processed foods to make them last longer and because they are easy to produce. However, trans fats increase bad cholesterol and reduce beneficial cholesterol. To avoid this, look for foods that are marked "trans fat-free". 6. Fried foods. Restaurants, again and again, fry the food in the same oil, which becomes more and more saturated. And even if they did not, fried foods like chicken or potatoes contain an enormous amount of fat. Try to avoid these foods, unless they are fried in vegetable oils such as olive. 7. Soda. "When we think of heart disease, many people associate it with cholesterol and fats, but we also know that sugar is linked to obesity," says Cynthia Thaik a cardiologist in Los Angeles. In fact, eating a sugary drink daily, plus all the extra weight leads to a 20% increased risk of suffering a heart attack, according to a 2012 study. As if that were not enough, drinking diet soda increases the risk of heart attacks, stroke, and death, although the exact cause has not yet been discovered. Here’s How Our body is a factory that works tirelessly. When something does not work well on the body, it shows warning signs. The signs should never be taken lightly. Unlike the common cold or other diseases, heart attacks can be difficult to detect. However, a team of researchers has discovered that it is possible to predict a heart attack months in advance. ATTACK ON THE HEART: CAUSES AND WARNING SIGNS Heart attack or myocardial infarction is the leading cause of death worldwide, According to the WHO In the United States, more than 610,000 people die of this disease every year. Myocardial infarction refers to the death of a part of the heart muscle due to a blockage of blood flow to the heart. This interruption of blood flow is the result of blockage of a coronary artery, caused by blood clots or plaque (buildup of fat) on the walls. This cardiovascular disease mainly affects men over 50 and women between 65 and 70 years. However, younger people can also have a heart attack. Namely, days, weeks and even months before a heart attack occurs, Your body will give you some warning signs. And one of the signs can be found in your hair: your hair will contain higher levels of the hormone cortisol, which is a warning sign of heart attacks! High levels of cortisol can usually be measured through the blood, urine or saliva samples in days/hours before a heart attack occurs, but the hair is completely different. Hair samples may show high cortisol levels weeks or months before your heart attack occurs. A 6-inch thread is sufficient for this purpose. This was demonstrated by an investigation that focused on analyzing hair samples of 56 people who had a heart attack and then compare them with hair of people who never suffered a heart attack, but who had other health problems. In addition to your hair, four of the main symptoms of heart attack are: Chest pains, even though any pain in the chest does not necessarily mean you have a heart attack. You may also feel pain in your neck, arms, back, and even your jaw. The second sign is sweating and nausea, the third is trouble breathing and the fourth is stomach problems. HOW TO PREVENT AN ATTACK TO THE HEART? It is possible to reduce the risk of heart attack by adopting a healthy lifestyle. PHYSICAL ACTIVITY Include a little exercise in your daily schedule to control your weight, Keep your heart healthy and prevent many diseases such as overweight, diabetes, etc. It is also necessary to control blood pressure, cholesterol and blood sugar, factors involved in the occurrence of heart attacks.

Kidney failure facts
http://www.balancedhealthtoday.com http://www.balancedhealthtoday.com/glytamins.html Kidneys are the organs that help filter waste products from the blood. They are also involved in regulating blood pressure, electrolyte balance, and red blood cell production in the body. Symptoms of kidney failure are due to the build-up of waste products in the body that may cause weakness, shortness of breath, lethargy, and confusion. Inability to remove potassium from the bloodstream may lead to abnormal heart rhythms and sudden death. Initially kidney failure may cause no symptoms. There are numerous causes of kidney failure, and treatment of the underlying disease may be the first step in correcting the kidney abnormality. Some causes of kidney failure are treatable and the kidney function may return to normal. Unfortunately, kidney failure may be progressive in other situations and may be irreversible. The diagnosis of kidney failure usually is made by blood tests measuring BUN, creatinine, and glomerular filtration rate (GFR). Treatment of the underlying cause of kidney failure may return kidney function to normal. Lifelong efforts to control blood pressure and diabetes may be the best way to prevent chronic kidney disease and its progression to kidney failure. As we age kidney function gradually decreases over time. If the kidneys fail completely, the only treatment options available may be dialysis or transplant. http://www.balancedhealthtoday.com/store http://www.balancedhealthtoday.com/store/glytamins.html

How can I decrease the chances of my baby having birth defects?
Not all birth defects are preventable, but there are things a woman can do to increase the chances of having a healthy baby. The Centers for Disease Control has challenged all women to make a PACT, or a commitment to themselves to do whatever they can to get healthy before trying to get pregnant. PACT is an acronym to help us remember what we can do. P is for Plan ahead. A is Avoid harmful substances. C is Choose a healthy lifestyle. T is Talk with your doctor. Let's start with P, or Planning ahead. One of the first things you can do is start today by taking a prenatal vitamin that has at least 400mg of folic acid. This ensures that there's enough folic acid in your system when you actually get pregnant. It will reduce the chances of your baby having spina bifida. There are different germ layers forming in the first couple of weeks after conception before you even know you're pregnant, and if there's not enough folic acid, that's when this can happen. So you need to plan ahead and take a prenatal vitamin even before you start trying to conceive. A is for Avoiding harmful substances. Avoid alcohol, smoking, illicit street drugs, and think twice about prescription medications, over-the-counter medications, and herbal supplements. There is no safe amount of alcohol at any time during pregnancy, so just avoid it. If you're trying to get pregnant, stop drinking before you even start the process. If you do drink during pregnancy, then it increases the chances of your baby having a host of complications that can last a lifetime for them. These are called fetal alcohol spectrum disorders. As for smoking, it increases the chances of complications during pregnancy, like preterm labor, preterm delivery, placenta previa, placental abruption. Then some women think "Oh, I've done great, I didn't smoke while I was pregnant.", but then they start again after the baby is born. Secondhand smoke can also be deadly to a baby and increase the chances of sudden infant death syndrome, also known as SIDS. If your own health isn't a good enough reason to quit, then let your baby's health be a good motivation to stop smoking. It's never too late. Because of common sense, most people figure that it's smart to stay away from illicit street drugs during pregnancy, and really, at anytime in life. But some people do question the use of marijuana and think that it might help with nausea during pregnancy or other discomforts that you feel during pregnancy. But it, too, is not safe and has been linked to developmental problems as a child gets older - lower IQ, attention deficit disorder - so stay away from marijuana. If you've been on any prescription medication, or are thinking about taking any over-the-counter pills or herbal supplements, talk with your OB provider first and make sure they're safe during pregnancy. C stands for Choose a healthy lifestyle. Talk with your doctor before you get pregnant. Make a preconception appointment, and they'll discuss your health history and decide if anything needs to get under control before you get pregnant. A couple of health conditions they'll talk to you about or consider are obesity, high blood pressure, thyroid problems, and diabetes. If these things are not well-controlled, then it can increase the chances of pregnancy complications and birth defects. Lastly, T stands for Talk with your health provider. They're always going to be your best resource, because they have a knowledge of your circumstances, and can give you the best advice if you have questions, and tailor it to your needs. But they'll also talk with you at your first few prenatal appointments, specifically about past infections, things that might pose a risk to you during pregnancy, like sexually transmitted infections, hepatitis. Take toxoplasmosis for example - this is a parasite that you can get from changing cat litter. So this is important for a pregnant woman to know, because it can affect your growing baby. If you have a cat at home and you're trying to conceive, then happily, you'll be able to pass that duty off to your partner until after you've had the baby. They'll also talk with you about immunizations that you should get during pregnancy, one of which is the flu shot, and another important one is the Tdap booster shot (tetanus, diphtheria & pertussis). Pertussis is the whooping cough piece, and babies are left vulnerable. They can get whooping cough during the first year of life, because they can't get their own immunization until around their 1st birthday. So the mother is given a Tdap booster shot after 27 weeks, and as her body builds up extra immunity, it's passed to the baby through the placenta, and that's what offers them protection until their 1st birthday. Pregnancy is a really exciting time, but it can also be super stressful. By doing these things, you'll at least have some peace of mind knowing that you did everything you could to make sure that your baby is as healthy as possible.

Banning smoking in restaurants reduces heart attack deaths
Restaurant smoking bans have been linked with drops in rates of heart attack and sudden cardiac death even though other risk factors for cardiovascular disease have not diminished, according to research published online ahead of print in the Archives of Internal Medicine. Benefits of quitting smoking include: • A reduction in the risk of heart attack • A reduction in the risk of lung cancer • Lower life insurance premiums Researchers from of the Mayo Clinic Rochester compared rates of heart attack and sudden cardiac death that occurred during the 18 months before and after the local county implemented a workplace smoke-free ordinance that banned smoking in restaurants. After implementation of the new restaurant smoking ban, rates of heart attack dropped by 33% in the county and rates of sudden cardiac death dropped by 17%. It appears that these effects were directly related to a reduction in exposure to cigarette smoke, since other major risk factors for cardiovascular disease, including high blood pressure, high cholesterol, diabetes, and obesity, remained constant or increased during the same time period. Today's research highlights the profound impact that secondhand smoke can have on cardiovascular health and suggests that it should be avoided by everyone, particularly those with heart disease.

Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy (HCM) Explained | Tufts Medical Center
Hypertrophic cardiomyopathy (HCM) is a genetic heart disease where there is increased thickness of the left ventricle, predominantly affecting the ventricular septum. There are two types of HCM—non-obstructive and obstructive. Obstructive HCM occurs when the mitral valve makes an abnormal motion and contacts the thickened septum obstructing the flow of blood from the left ventricle out of the heart, as well as causing leakiness (or regurgitation) of blood back into the left atrium. This obstruction to blood flow and mitral regurgitation creates high pressures in the heart and is the main cause of limiting symptoms in patients with obstructive HCM. Symptoms may include: shortness of breath with exertion, chest pain, dizziness, or exertional fatigue. Although there is no cure for HCM, there are several effective treatment options available to improve symptoms. Students help save Lewisville teacher's life
LEWISVILLE, Texas – Life changed instantly one Wednesday for Alisha Byerly, a Lewisville ISD teacher. The day started like any other with Byerly teaching her 5th graders at Morningside Elementary. Then, her heart started beating out of control. “When it started to shake, I could feel it,” said Byerly. From then, everything happened like clockwork. “So we were over there and then she was laying back in the chair, and then she fell over,” recalled John Sunderland, one of Byerly’s 11-year-old students. “That's when we knew to go in the other room and call 911.” The school nurse grabbed a defibrillator. The P.E. teacher and Vice Principal took turns giving CPR. “I was really scared,” said Jillian Powell, 10. “I thought she died.” She did. But together they restored Byerly’s pulse and brought her back to life. “I remember down to my heart shaking,” said Byerly, back in her classroom where her heart stopped. “I remember being in this room after being revived.” By the time paramedics got Byerly to Texas Health Plano, the 42-year-old teacher was awake and talking: good blood pressure, no blocked arteries. “With her, I'm concerned about a particular genetic syndrome called long QT syndrome, where the heart starts misfiring in a chaotic way and needs to be shocked to restore normal rhythm,” explained Dr. Sumeet Chhabra, cardiac electrophysiologist at Texas Health Plano. Doctors decided to implant a small defibrillator through a 2-inch incision underneath Byerly’s collar bone in order to shock her heart if necessary. “Think about the defibrillator as a guardian angel,” said Dr. Chhabra. “It's with you at all times.” Seven days after her cardiac arrest, Byerly was back in her classroom. “They were already special students,” she said about John and Jillian. “But I don't know that I'll ever lose that connection with them.” Sunderland chimed in about helping to save their teacher’s life: “It feels good,” he said. “It feels like I've done something great.” Doctors acknowledged Sunderland and the other students and staff, too. “I give all the credit in the world to the students that were in that classroom, and the Vice Principal who came and saved her life,” said Dr. Chhabra. Byerly’s memory and motor skills are 100 percent normal. The lesson for this teacher? “If you listen to the whole story – and there are so many tiny pieces – God was there every step of the way,” said Byerly. “He wants me here. And I was with people I love and who love me and I can't imagine it happening anywhere else."

Heartworm Pet Meds (847) 742-3906 (South Elgin IL, St Charles IL, W Dundee IL )
Call 847-742-3906 Please Visit http://www.SouthElginVet.com I am Dr. Churan from the Animal Clinic of South Elgin, 896 North La Fox Street, South Elgin, IL 60177. This is my assistant Jenny and this is Arwin, one of our clinic dogs and she is a great dane. Arwin is frequently here at the clinic. Today we want to talk about heartworms. Heartworm is a blood parasite spread by mosquitoes thru your dog's bloodstream. When an infected mosquito bites your dog it injects a microscopic parasite to your dog's bloodstream. Within a period of 5 months it can grow up to a foot, lodges into your dog's heart and could kill your dog. During our annual Cat Wellness Examinations and Dog Wellness Examinations we test for parasite infections. We also may recommend a pet teeth cleaning. Heartworm Pet Meds are easy prevention. It is very easy to prevent this, however, by a once-a-month medication. Your canine needs to be tested annually and the reason for this is that it is very safe to kill the tiny microscopic heartworms that the mosquitoes are putting into your best furry friend; however, your canine could have an adult heartworm due to your canine not getting any heartworm medication at all, missing a dose due to one reason or another, the animal vomiting the medication after a scheduled dose, or the patient not receiving a dose because of a misunderstanding among the various owners. This leaves a window of opportunity where your pet could get infected. Heartworm Pet Meds require an annual blood test. Therefore, it is very important that your dog gets tested once a year, even if you have been giving the medication faithfully. The reason for this is if we kill an adult heartworm, it can clog the great vessels of the heart and your beloved pet could drop dead. This sudden death which could not be completely explained is something we never want to happen. Heartworm Pet Meds Blood Tests includes Lyme Disease Test. A internal parasite blood test that we do here at the Animal Clinic of South Elgin also tests for lyme disease and other tick diseases which are other emerging parasite problems in canine population. These are treatable diseases if we catch them early before permanent damage is done. For heartworm preventatives, we have a variety of brands which do many different things. The most basic e is a once-a-month pill that you give your dog to control this and 2 kinds of intestinal parasites. We have upgrade pills that take care of this parasite and 3 kinds of intestinal parasites. We also have Sentinel which has an additional ingredient that prevents fleas as well as take care of this and 3 kinds of intestinal parasites. That is our most popular preventative in this practice. Anybody who ever had fleas has found that it is easier to prevent flea infestation than treat the infestation itself. Giving your dog a pill once a month is easy compared to getting rid of the fleas in your household. We also have a topical heartworm preventative that you spray on the back of the dog's head. The reason some people choose this type is that some dogs do not cooperate when it comes to taking oral medication. Heartworm Pet Meds are also needed for cats. Cats could get infected by heartworms as well, although much less common than dogs. When cats get infected by this blood-based parasite, it is much more severe because cats are small and their hearts are also small. One worm could kill a cat. Cats have lung pathology rather than heart pathology so they develop asthma-type symptoms. This fatal parasite is also very preventable in cats by oral or topical medication once a month. Again, preventive measures, just like in people, are far better and easier than treatment after the infection. Heartowm Pet Meds are much cheaper than treatment. Heartworm can be treated. If your dog tested positive for this fatal parasite, he can be treated. The treatment, however, is not only expensive but also hard on the dog in the sense that the dog could be sick for a 6-week period. Preventing a possible permanent damage to your dog from internal parasites is a far better goal than treatment. We recommend preventative medications 12 months of the year since mosquito seasons are unpredictable. There is no season to intestinal parasites, however, so it is important to control these parasites year-round. In short, parasite prevention is a very good choice for your family and your dog. http://acse60177.vetinzip.com/veterinary-advice/heartworm-pet-meds/

Six Cardio Tests Provide Health Snapshot
With cardiovascular disease being the nation’s top killer, who wouldn’t want to know what’s going on inside them? Now getting a beat on your heart health is easier than ever before. “The nice thing about these tests is that they’re non-invasive. There’s going to be no discomfort with them, they can be done in one setting, they’re quick and easy and they can give us a great insight into the heart,” says Dr. Lynne Einbinder, who is an interventional cardiologist with Lee Memorial Health System. The heart lays at the center or ‘heart’ of our vascular system. Once blood leaves the heart it circulates throughout the body. And problems can pop up anywhere down the line. A group of six cardio tests, bundled together can provide a real-time health snapshot. It begins with an echocardiogram: “That’s an ultrasound of the heart. We’re able to look at the size and function of the heart. We’re able to look for any evidence of previous heart attack, heart damage, or any significant leakage of the heart valve,” says Dr. Einbinder. Next is an ultrasound of the aorta, which looks for aneurysms; followed by a carotid ultrasound. “We ultrasound the two arteries inside the neck and we look for evidences of blockages. Severe blockages can actually increase your risk of stroke,” says Dr. Einbinder. The ankle-brachial test is a telling test most people have never heard of. “We look at the blood flow down the legs. And it’s a very easy test to do. We just put some blood pressure cuffs down the legs in the same way that we put blood pressure cuffs on the arms,” says Dr. Einbinder. And don’t underestimate the EKG-which packs a powerful punch. “Even though it’s a simple test, it can give us a lot of information. It can look for heart arrhythmias, it can look for irregular heartbeats, it can also give us information about whether there’s been old heart attacks,” says Dr. Einbinder. The final screening is a blood pressure test. Taken with the others it provides a fuller picture of your health status. “The reason why we pick these tests is because these are very serious conditions that it can pick up,” says Dr. Einbinder. SHOCKING: 9-year-old Boy, Parents, Grandmother All Die Mysteriously In Oyo
http://www.africtoday.com Tragedy befell a family at Iluju village via Ikoyi Ile in Oriire Local Government area of Oyo State when four of its members, including a couple, their nine-year-old son and the boy's grandmother died, one after the other, within five days. According to information gathered by Sunday Tribune, the nine year-old boy whose name was given as Samuel Ajani, fell sick in the morning of Friday, August 2. He was said to have been rushed to a private hospital within the village where the doctor on duty reportedly diagnosed convulsion. Sunday Tribune further learnt that the doctor commenced treatment on the boy immediately, battling to save his life. Unfortunately, the boy reportedly gave up the ghost while still undergoing treatment. When the news of his death got to his mother and his paternal grandmother, the two women were reported to have gone into shock, prompting their being rushed to Bowen University Teaching Hospital in Ogbomoso for treatment. Upon examination, the doctor said that the blood pressure of both women had gone on the high side. Unfortunately again, both of them died. This, it was learnt, prompted the father of the deceased boy, one Mr. Ajani Abiola, to go to Ikoyi-Ile Police Station at about 7a.m. on Sunday, August 4, to make a formal report of the sad events. Surprisingly, on Tuesday, August 6, an unconfirmed report had it that the man, who was with the police two days earlier to report the death of his family members, had also died. Sunday Tribune could not confirm if the man had been ill before the tragedy that befell him, but no one could say exactly what could have led to the deaths of the four family members, despite the medical explanations given at the different hospitals they were taken to. When contacted, the Oyo State Police Public Relations Officer, Olabisi Okuwobi-Ilobanafor, confirmed the story of the deceased boy, mother and grandmother but said she was yet to confirm that of the father. She also added that from the report made by the father and his statement that no foul play was suspected, the police would regard the deaths as sudden and unnatural.

Tommy Handley - We Must Have Another Little One / Can You Say Bread And Butter... (1928)
Thomas Reginald "Tommy" Handley (17 January 1892 -- 9 January 1949) was a British comedian, mainly known for the BBC radio programme ITMA ("It's That Man Again"). He was born at Toxteth Park, Liverpool in Lancashire. He served with a kite balloon section of the Royal Naval Air Service during World War I and went on to work in variety, and in the infancy of radio became known as a regular broadcaster. He worked with people such as Arthur Askey and Bob Monkhouse, and wrote many radio scripts, but it is the BBC comedy series ITMA for which he is best known, and which itself became known for a number of catchphrases, some of which entered popular vocabulary.[1] He later starred in the ITMA film in 1942 and in Time Flies in 1944. In later years, he suffered with high blood pressure, the result of his driving commitment to ITMA, and died suddenly on 9 January 1949 from a brain hemorrhage, 8 days before his 57th birthday. He was cremated and interred at the Golders Green Crematorium. In a eulogy at his memorial service at St Paul's Cathedral, the Bishop of London, John W C Wand, said that "[h]e was one whose genius transmuted the copper of our common experience into the gold of exquisite foolery. His raillery was without cynicism, and his satire without malice..."
