Dehydration Symptoms, Signs You Need More Water

03:14
http://serious-fitness-programs.com/weightloss Follow Us On Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/TheSeriousfitness Ever felt so thirsty that you are wondering if this is a sign that something is wrong? Have you ever noticed an abnormal drop of your body weight? Feeling weak and lethargic? Perhaps the cause of all these symptoms and more is Dehydration. Dehydration is nothing minor to play with and if you don’t pay attention, it may even threaten your life in extreme cases. In this video we will discuss the common dehydration symptoms and signs. Dehydration basically occurs when you lose an excess number of water and fluids from your system. There are many things that may cause this. One cause is intense workout which expels much of your body’s fluids through sweat. If fluids are not replaced by drinking water, you can become dehydrated. Another common cause that leads to dehydration is when you are exposed to hot environments. Heat causes in this case a rise in internal temperature and your body has no other option that to sweat to compensate for the heat, which of courses expels liquids out of your system. Nausea, vomiting, and diarrhea are also conditions that may cause dehydration and you are making matters worse if you fail to drink water when while nauseous. Many will ask at this point--how do I know if I’m dehydrated? Apart from obviously feeling thirsty, you may experience many different symptoms that show that you are not properly hydrated. A common symptom is memory lapses. Since our brains are made up from 90% water, they are the first organ to show signs of dehydration which will come in the form of memory lapses, headaches and possible dizziness. Another sign of dehydration is if you pee in an infrequent basis or if your pee has a strange color. Yes, it may sound disgusting but its actual color actually gives you a hint on the status of urine and water in your system. If it’s a pale orange or brown color instead of pale yellow, it probably means that you are dehydrates beyond normal levels. Performance-wise, you may notice that you really struggle to make it through the gym or a sport game. Our bodies need water to oxygenate the blood and if oxygen levels fall, our body’s performance and energy will simply suffer. Finally, take a look at your skin’s condition. Since our skin is the largest external organ connected to internal circulation of liquids and nutrients, anything we put or don’t put in our systems will have a great impact on how our skin looks. If you have noticed that your skin looks dry, rough, patchy, or less stretchy than before, dehydration might be among the top causes. So how do you keep dehydration at bay? By ingesting a good portion of fruits veggies with a high water content and low calorie drinks and plain water without any sugars and fat. Dry and processed junk food as well as alcohol are also a big no-no as they exaggerate dehydration issues and make your system expel liquids faster. NEVER IGNORE THESE WARNING SIGNS OF ULCER | stomach ulcer

NEVER IGNORE THESE WARNING SIGNS OF ULCER | stomach ulcer is very informative video you can watch more like this subscribe to our channel for daily updates https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCWvbgwdELF-rWmyxuk7k8QA What i Explained In this video (((NEVER IGNORE THESE WARNING SIGNS OF ULCER | stomach ulcer))) Ulcers occur due to an imbalance of digestive juices or if the stomach lining suffers some form of damage (i.e., alcoholism). When an ulcer goes untreated, the acid can eat a hole through the stomach wall or small intestine, leading to a serious infection called peritonitis. Because ulcers can produce scar tissue, blockages can form that do not allow food to pass through the digestive tract easily, causing vomiting and weight loss. Although many ulcers will often heal on their own, sometimes serious health issues will result if medical treatment isn’t sought when necessary. Here are ten warning signs indicative of an ulcer, including the following: 1. Abdominal Pain Feeling bloated or experiencing pain or a burning sensation in the middle or upper part of the stomach after meals or at night. 2. Nausea Due to the imbalance of digestive fluids in the stomach, mild to severe nausea can occur at any time–more intensely in the morning on an empty stomach. 3. Heartburn/Indigestion Someone with an ulcer can experience horrible indigestion and gastrointestinal pain, which can cause hiccups and burping after meals. 4. Flu-like Symptoms Most people with an ulcer will have flu-like symptoms such as fever, nausea, exhaustion, and general malaise that don’t dissipate over the course of a few days. 5. Abdominal Heaviness It is very common for a person with an ulcer to develop a feeling of fullness or heaviness in the stomach, similar to having consumed a great deal of fluid. 6. Unexplainable Hunger It is normal for someone with an ulcer to feel extremely hungry only a couple of hours after consuming a full meal. The feelings are not actually hunger pangs, but rather pain from the ulcer, which is caused by an increase in digestive fluids. 7. Loss of Appetite Many people experience appetite loss due to sudden and intense stomach pains. 8. Unexplained or Sudden Weight Loss With appetite loss that stems from ulcers, it is common to lose weight. This becomes even more likely if the ulcer causes vomiting after meals. 9. Vomiting Blood A perforated ulcer can lead to bloody vomit. If this happens, the ulcer has advanced and immediate medical attention is indicated. 10. Antidepressants That Cause Weight Loss

05:30
http://bit.ly/yourfreehealthreport The Real Story about Antidepressants that Cause Weight Loss I speaking with a friend of mine I have come to find out about hwo many poeple are looking for the added benefit of using antidepressants that cause weight loss. In my research I have found that using antidepressants and expecting to lose weight has a mixed bag of results. First off using an antidepressant for weight loss is not a healthy option, the side effect seem to be the major cause of weight loss and if you like loss of appetite, nausea and vomiting well then that would be a major issue. Listen we all want to feel good, physically , mentally and emotionally and yes at times ant time the use of an antidepressant might have to be but it should only be a temporary solution and not a life long sentence. It is the same with weight loss. Yes your weight, and your health both emotionally and physically might fluctuate at times but we should always do our best to give our body and mind the proper nutrition , exercise and other natural input to create an environment where the body will thrive. In the process of coaching people on health I do not recommend people using prescription drugs but instead a more natural process to obtain ultimate health . Antidepressant and weight loss are not the best prescription for a healthy life and if that is what you are looking for it might just take a focused approached to create a healthier lifestyle which would in turn give you both, and better emotional feeling about life . Know that food and exercise, believe it or not , have a dramatic effect on both your physical , mental and emotional health . So in conclusion my opinion based on my nutrition and health studies and my research on antidepressants that cause weight loss is don't rely on them because the results will vary based upon your body type and chemistry but instead rely more so on creating a healthy life style and in turn you will lose the weight and feel great emotionally . Ketogenic Diet Side Effects: Keto Flu Explained (With Remedies) - Thomas DeLauer

We all have fat converting enzymes, but the amount of them drastically increases when first entering keto - the supply of glucose falls before the body has adapted to burning fat for fuel. Hypoglycemia occurs because the body quickly burns through stored sugars and hasn’t yet learned to burn fat, leaving you with an energy deficit* Going from little fat a day to eating all the fat you can consume results in people’s body’s not being able to digest all the fat right away, this leaves a large portion of fat undigested and built up and makes some people understandably nauseated. The liver and gallbladder need time to up-regulate the number of fat-burning enzymes to burn larger amounts of fat efficiently. Loss of Minerals/Electrolytes: When we restrict carbohydrates, we remove from our diet the one macronutrient that triggers the most insulin release. While insulin is letting the cells know that there is excess energy, it also triggers the kidneys to hold onto sodium and water. Together, glycogen loss and low insulin levels cause enough water and sodium to cause dizziness, nausea, cramping, headaches, and gastrointestinal issues Increase Salt and Mineral Intake: When you go low carb, your insulin levels will tend to go down, which in turn means you don’t hold on to as much sodium as before. You also get rid of excess water that you’ve been holding on to (no carbs to hold water as well) So, to combat this decrease in sodium, the simple answer is to take in a bit more salt as to retain more water Bone broth - has electrolytes and helps the gut: Bone broth is easily digested and soothing to the digestive system - it provides essential minerals, including electrolytes, all provided in an easy-to-absorb form. Electrolytes found within bone broth include calcium, magnesium and potassium (not to mention many other minerals, such as phosphorus), which are important for supporting healthy circulation, bone density, nerve signaling functions, heart health and digestive health Gut Health: Certain bacteria prefer to consume protein, sugars, or carbs, while some prefer fats and fat is most commonly correlated with an increase in the bacteria that produce endotoxins - so on a keto, endotoxins are more likely to thrive. This can result in nausea… Collagen: The main structural protein found within the human body that helps form connective tissue and “seals” the mucosal lining of the GI tract. Glutamine: Bone broth also contains glutamine, which has protective effects on intestinal mucosa by decreasing bacteremia and epithelial cell apoptosis, enhancing gut barrier function, and influencing gut immune response - glutamine can fight against bad gut flora by protecting against mucosal breakdown in the gut. Stay Hydrated: Dehydration can often give you headaches, nausea, and fatigue so make sure you also drink plenty of water during this period is critical. Feeling Sick on a Ketogenic Diet?

04:12
Take Dr. Berg's Advanced Evaluation Quiz: http://bit.ly/EvalQuiz Your report will then be sent via email analyzing 104 potential symptoms, giving you a much deeper insight into the cause-effect relationship of your body issues. It's free and very enlightening. There are 3 reasons why they feel sick on a ketogenic diet. This could be called the keto flu. 1. Too much fat too quickly - if your gallbladder is not present or you do not have enough bile, and you add too many fats, this will overload the liver and gallbladder and create the feeling of nausea, feeling of the flu, bloating, right shoulder pain - esp. around the upper right trap, scapula or rhomboid muscle. For this I would recommend a simple solution, cut down the fats a bit - add Gallbladder Formula: https://shop.drberg.com/gallbladder-formula-regular 2. The ketogenic diet does deplete both electrolytes and B-vitamins. This alone can create fatigue, tiredness and by simply adding back in B-vitamins from nutritional yeast or some other natural source and electrolytes (esp. potassium), you can quickly resolve this. Your running the body now on a different cellular machine, which require slightly different nutrients. https://shop.drberg.com/electrolyte-powder-regular 3. The 3rd reason is that you are stuck in "transition phase". If you have been running your body on sugar your whole life and not you are switching to fat burning, you have to adapt. This requires new enzymes, etc. There is 2 ways you can do this - you can go cold turkey and just do it hard core OR you can do in more gradually. This would be mean avoiding sugar, grains, refined foods BUT keep in fruit, quinoa, yams or sweet potato - do this for a while, then over time you can take away the fruit. Is it Normal to Lose Weight During My First Trimester?

02:28
Is it normal to lose weight during my first trimester? It depends on how much you are throwing up. That costs a lot of bodily fluids. Yes, and if you get dehydrated enough, you’ll lose weight too. If I was that dehydrated, I’d need to be in the hospital with an IV. If you are trying to eat a few crackers and juice all day to avoid both throwing up and dehydration, you could lose weight. Someone should eat a normal diet when pregnant. It is a common problem for women to gain too much weight because they think they are eating for two when it is more like one point two. I’m not gaining weight. There are some women who try to cut back on calorie consumption because they see a slightly bulging gut and think they need to diet. The ones who are in the best shape will show the least, at least until the second trimester. When they say you may gain thirty or forty pounds over the course of the pregnancy, ten pounds is the baby, ten pounds is the extra blood and tissue to support the kid, and ten to twenty ends up your extra curves. The baby weighs a couple of ounces at this point. Then you certainly do not have an excuse to have gained twenty pounds, though a few pounds of blood, placenta and other guts is reasonable. What could cause weight loss in pregnancy? If you lost weight because half of what you wanted to eat made you want to throw up instead, losing five pounds is not going to hurt you if you’re getting enough nutrients other ways. Mostly ginger ale and crackers. Be sure to take prenatal vitamins, and if the iron supplements make you throw up, talk to the doctor about a different iron pill or try liver or red meat. Those latter ones are guaranteed to make me throw up. So talk to the doc on what you can do to get proper nutrition when your body is so sensitive to what you eat. And once that’s done, you’ll probably regain the weight you lost plus add a few more. So a little weight loss is normal. A little is acceptable, a lot means something is horribly wrong, though whether it is morning sickness in need of medication or an overactive thyroid, I don’t know. All I know is that if I do not know, I need to see the doctor. Now if you were really overweight, you should not be losing a lot of weight, but would be advised just not to pack on more pounds.

The adrenal fatigue symptoms include insomnia, fatigue, achy, brain fog, low tolerance, breathing issues, sinus, libido, dizzy when standing up. The adrenal gland is the survival gland which helps the body to cope up with stress. Standing up fast or walking up the stairs may cause adrenal exhaustion. I have extreme vomiting & weight loss in my 1st trimester. Will it hurt my baby?

02:42
First of all I want to apologize to you, it sounds like you've had a very difficult time during this pregnancy. You've been so sick, you've lost 12 pounds and you're down to 118 pounds. You've definitely got a severe case of morning sickness which is called hyperemesis gravidarum. Morning sickness affects a lot of pregnancies and is actually a healthy part of pregnancy but it becomes unhealthy if it causes you to lose weight, become dehydrated, or at risk for dehydration. You asked some very specific questions. Why is the trimester that is most nutritionally important to my baby the one where you can't eat? That's a great question. Researchers really don't know why women get really sick during the first trimester but they have some suspicions. Human chorionic gonadotropin, or HCG, which is an essential part of pregnancy, it's a hormone your body secretes to help support the pregnancy, is at its highest levels during the first trimester. Because women are most sick during their first trimester it usually starts between weeks five and six and peaks at week nine and can last until 16-18 weeks. They think that because this follows the trend of HCG that it has something to do with that. That is a good question, why does it have to be that way? It's unfortunate and it's definitely unfortunate that you've had a hard time. Is it going to cause any harm to your baby, that's another question that you asked. It can actually cause harm to you and the baby if you don't receive treatment. Stay in close contact with your doctor, follow any advice that they've given you, and if they recommend certain treatments then make sure you follow through and do that. When you're not feeling nauseated drink lots of fluid, eat a bland diet and eat small regular meals throughout the day. Try to increase your protein intake, find something high in protein that your body can tolerate. Just do your best to keep things down. If you're having a day when you can't keep any food or fluids down call your doctor and they'll decide if something needs to be done at thing time. I really hope this doesn't last the whole pregnancy for you. Usually it starts to subside around weeks 20 to 21 or so. Sometimes it does last further into the pregnancy and it's more likely to happen if your mother or any sisters had it too. It can run in the family. Good luck. I hope that you're able to make it through this. If you have any other questions for me feel free to ask them on our Facebook page at Facebook.com/IntermountainMoms and recommend us to your friends and family too.

Alcohol and Gastritis: Symptoms, Causes, Diet, & Treatment How to What is Gastritis? http://alcoholmastery.com/alcohol-and-gastritis-symptoms-causes-diet-treatment-how-to/ Although gastritis can be caused by a variety of different things, the main focus of this article is alcohol and gastritis. Gastritis is an inflammation of the stomach lining. One of the main causes is over-drinking. It usually occurs because the stomach lining is not getting a break from alcohol. What are the Symptoms of Gastritis? The most frequent symptoms of gastritis include: Heartburn Indigestion Upper abdominal pain Loss of appetite Dark stools Hiccups Nausea Diarrhea Vomiting Unexplained weight loss Treatment for Gastritis Avoiding alcohol, tobacco, coffee and other acidic drinks may help prevent the condition or treat it once you suffer from it. Another method of treatment is diet change. You should eat a variety of vegetables, fruits, whole grains, and low fat dairy. Always choose lean meats and fish. Avoid fat rich dairy, highly seasoned foods, peppers, garlic, onions, chilies, and tomato products. Outlook Once the underlying causes are addressed, the outlook is good with the symptoms disappearing very quickly and the gastritis clearing up. If no treatment is sought, or if the treatment doesn’t work, there is a risk of the condition becoming chronic. Chronic gastritis increases risks for other conditions such as cancer. Spiritual Weight Loss: Day 28 - A Great Spiritual Technique to Stop Nausea

04:01
Hello Angels! Welcome to Spiritual Weight Loss. This video series is all about spiritual weight loss, healing pain, connecting with Spirit and much more. As your spiritual fitness coach for 30 days, my goal in this video series is to explain what spiritual weight is and how to loose it. You'll find many valuable lessons that will inspire you into action right away or give you healthy food for thought. Spiritual weight is invisible energy that feels heavy. It could be the loss of a loved one, a business mistake, heartbreak, financial debt, moving to a home you don't like, failing an exam, being snubbed by a co-worker, overlooked for a promotion, blamed for something you didn't do and much more. This weight is unwanted energy and it shows up in many forms in our lives. For some it's overwhelm and tiredness, for others there is a struggle with carrying unwanted pounds on our bodies. Then there are those who are seeking a more sacred relationship with Spirit yet there is a disconnect, despite having attended many workshops and reading numerous spiritual books. Spiritual weight gain is something most people struggle with but they are not aware of it. Do you find yourself feeling tired or drained around some people? When you visit certain environments for example, crowded and noisy places do you feel irritated or overwhelmed? When you watch, read or hear sad news, do you get easily distracted from things you want to focus on? If you answered YES to any of those questions it means you are an EMPATH, someone who is sensitive to the energy of people, places or things. This is part of the cause of spiritual weight gain. In this 30-day series Spiritual Weight Loss, you’ll get clarity about what’s weighing you down and simple solutions to get focused and recharged. These videos are short and sweet! Joanna Garzilli, author of BIG MIRACLES published by Harper Collins shares practical spiritual guidance that you can apply to your every day life including healing pain and connecting with Spirit. Signs and Symptoms Of Pancreatic Cancer You Should Know

10:10
Descriptions of Warning symptoms of Pancreatic Cancer: It accounts for about 3 percent of all cancers in the United States, but 7 percent of cancer deaths. Pancreatic cancer begins in the tissues of your pancreas, a pear-shaped organ located behind the lower part of your stomach Pancreatic cancer is difficult to detect early and it typically spreads rapidly, affecting other parts of the body. This is why it is called a silent disease and you must get cancer pancreas treatment. Here are the top 6 early warning signs of pancreatic cancer that you must know. 1, Jaundice. 01:02 It is common for people with pancreatic cancer to experience jaundice, characterized by yellowing of the eyes or skin. Jaundice can also cause itchiness on the hands and feet, especially the palms and soles. Any size of tumor located in the head of the pancreas can lead to irregular bile (a yellowish-brown fluid released by your liver to aid digestion) flowing from the gallbladder into the small intestine. This causes excess buildup of bilirubin in the blood, one of the main causes of jaundice. 2, Abdominal and Lower Back Pain. 02:05 Abdominal as well as back pain are also common symptoms in patients with pancreatic cancer. Usually, the sharp pain is felt in the upper abdomen, which gradually radiates toward the back. Many patients also report the pain is more severe at night and that they get slight relief from the pain by bending forward. If you are experiencing persistent, mild to moderate abdominal pain, consult a doctor or pancreatic cancer clinical trials. Most cases of pancreatic cancer are diagnosed in patients visiting the emergency room complaining of severe abdominal pain. 3, Nausea and Vomiting. 03:12 Nausea followed by vomiting is another sign of pancreatic cancer. As the tumor grows, it can block some portions of the digestive tract, which hampers the overall digestion process. Along with nausea and vomiting, you may also experience heartburn and acid reflux. If these symptoms tend to worsen after eating and it is becoming difficult for you to eat anything without throwing up, consult your doctor and get best pancreatic cancer treatment. In advanced cases of pancreatic cancer, surgery may be required to bypass the blockage and improve digestion. 4, Unexplained Weight Loss. 04:07 Unexplained weight loss is another noticeable warning sign of different types of cancer, including pancreatic cancer. Weight loss often occurs when a tumor spreads to nearby organs and impairs their functioning. This affects proper digestion of nutrients and also leads to poor appetite. Also, due to lack of pancreatic enzymes aiding digestion, dietary fats start passing through the body undigested, which in turn causes weight loss. Furthermore, the cancer cells compete with healthy cells for nutrients you must find a pancreatic cancer therapy. 5, Greasy or Light-Colored Stool. 05:06 Stools of people suffering from pancreatic cancer have some distinct characteristics. The stools may become large, pale, oily, floating and smelly as the growing tumor prevents the pancreas from releasing its digestive enzymes. As the color and consistency of your stool says a lot about your health, any kind of bowel changes should be reported to your doctor. 6, Changes in Urine Color. 06:13 Along with changes in your stools, you may also notice changes in your urine color, despite drinking enough fluid throughout the day. Your urine may become darker and take on an orange, amber or brown shade. A growing pancreatic tumor can cause bile to get blocked and not released from your body in the way that it should be. Too much bilirubin in the body can get into your urine and make it dark in appearance. At times, there also may be traces of blood in your urine. Music: Royalty Free Music from Bensound

3006 - The True Cause of Disease Part 1 / From Sickness to Health - Barbara O'Neill

01:01:11
One of the main theories as to why disease happens is the gene theory. In part 1 of The True Cause of Disease we will cover the inside workings of the cells. Our DNA is a plan, a blueprint. If there’s something amiss in the blueprint, this can affect our cells, and in turn, we become ill with disease. Some of the causes of damage to DNA can include chemicals, GMOs, mineral deficiencies, excess heavy metal exposure, and more. These can turn healthy cells into rogue cells that contribute to disease. Join naturopathic doctor Barbara O’Neill in this scientific and eye-opening presentation about disease, the causes, and what we can do to combat it from a root level.

HG: My Experience of Hyperemesis Gravidarum

07:16
HG: My Experience of Hyperemesis Gravidarum This is just my own personal experience. You can find help on the NHS website: http://www.nhs.uk/conditions/pregnancy-and-baby/pages/severe-vomiting-in-pregnancy-hyperemesis-gravidarum.aspx Some pregnant women experience excessive nausea and vomiting. They might be sick many times a day and be unable to keep food or drink down, which can have a negative effect on their daily life. This excessive nausea and vomiting is known as hyperemesis gravidarum (HG), and often needs hospital treatment. Exactly how many pregnant women get HG is not known as some cases may go unreported, but it's thought to be around 1 in every 100. If you are being sick frequently and can't keep food down, tell your midwife or doctor, or contact the hospital as soon as possible. There is a risk you may become dehydrated, and your midwife or doctor can make sure you get the right treatment. Symptoms of hyperemesis gravidarum HG is much worse than the normal nausea and vomiting of pregnancy ("morning sickness"). Signs and symptoms of HG include: prolonged and severe nausea and vomiting – some women report being sick up to 50 times a day dehydration – not having enough fluids in your body because you can't keep drinks down; if you're drinking less than 500ml a day, you need to seek help ketosis – a serious condition that results in the build-up of acidic chemicals in the blood and urine; ketones are produced when your body breaks down fat, rather than glucose, for energy weight loss low blood pressure (hypotension) when standing Unlike regular pregnancy sickness, HG may not get better by 14 weeks. It may not clear up completely until the baby is born, although some symptoms may improve at around 20 weeks. See your GP or midwife if you have severe nausea and vomiting, ideally before you start suffering from dehydration and weight loss. There are other conditions that can cause nausea and vomiting, and your doctor will need to rule these out first. See the healthtalk.org website for videos and written interviews of women talking about their experiences of hyperemesis gravidarum and how they coped. What causes hyperemesis gravidarum? It's not known what causes HG, or why some women get it and others don't. Some experts believe it is linked to the changing hormones in your body that occur during pregnancy. There is some evidence that it runs in families, so if you have a mother or sister who has had HG in a pregnancy, you may be more likely to get it yourself. If you have had HG in a previous pregnancy, you are more likely to get it in your next pregnancy than women who have never had it before, so it's worth planning in advance. Treating hyperemesis gravidarum There are medications that can be used in pregnancy, including the first 12 weeks, to help improve the symptoms of HG. These include anti-sickness (anti-emetic) drugs, vitamins (B6 and B12) and steroids, or combinations of these. Evidence suggests that the earlier you start treatment, the more effective it will be. You may need to try different types of medication until you find what works best for you. The UK teratology information service has a website called bumps (best use of medicines in pregnancy) where you can find out about the safety of specific medicines in pregnancy. If your nausea and vomiting cannot be controlled, you may need to be admitted to hospital. This is so doctors can assess your condition and give you the right treatment to protect the health of you and your baby. Treatment can include intravenous fluids, which are given directly into a vein through a drip. If you have severe vomiting, the anti-sickness drugs may also need to be given via a vein or a muscle. The charity Pregnancy Sickness Support has information and tips on coping with nausea and vomiting, including HG. Will hyperemesis gravidarum harm my baby? HG is unpleasant with dramatic symptoms, but the good news is it's unlikely to harm your baby, if treated effectively. However, if it causes you to lose weight during pregnancy, there is an increased risk that your baby may be born smaller than expected (have a low birth weight). Other symptoms you may experience Pregnancy Sickness Support is in touch with many women who have had HG, and who report having some or all of the following symptoms in addition to the main symptoms listed above: extremely heightened sense of smell excessive saliva production (ptyalism) headaches and constipation from dehydration pressure sores from long periods of time in bed episodes of urinary incontinence as a result of vomiting combined with the pregnancy hormone relaxin If you experience these symptoms, you are not alone.

See much more honest health information at: http://www.rehealthify.com/ Rehealthify offers reliable, up-to-date health information, anytime, anywhere, for free. -- video script below -- The pancreas is a large gland behind the stomach and close to the first part of the small intestine. It secretes digestive juices into the small intestine through a tube called the pancreatic duct. The pancreas also releases the hormones insulin and glucagon into the bloodstream. Pancreatitis is inflammation of the pancreas. It happens when digestive enzymes start digesting the pancreas itself. Pancreatitis can be acute or chronic. Either form is serious and can lead to complications. Acute pancreatitis occurs suddenly and usually goes away in a few days with treatment. It is often caused by gallstones. Common symptoms are severe pain in the upper abdomen, nausea, and vomiting. Treatment is usually a few days in the hospital for intravenous (IV) fluids, antibiotics, and medicines to relieve pain. Chronic pancreatitis does not heal or improve. It gets worse over time and leads to permanent damage. The most common cause is heavy alcohol use. Other causes include cystic fibrosis and other inherited disorders, high levels of calcium or fats in the blood, some medicines, and autoimmune conditions. Symptoms include nausea, vomiting, weight loss, and oily stools. Treatment may also be a few days in the hospital for intravenous (IV) fluids, medicines to relieve pain, and nutritional support. After that, you may need to start taking enzymes and eat a special diet. It is also important to not smoke or drink alcohol. NIH: National Institute of Diabetes, Digestive and Kidney Diseases

Signs Of Kidney Problems - Lower Back Pain And Other Symptoms Of Renal Trouble

03:34
You might not know much about your kidneys and what they do right now...so I'm going to tell you a few basic facts before I list some of the signs of kidney problems... As you can see from this video, your kidneys are two bean shaped organs that are located just a bit above your belt line on either side of your body... Each kidney has thousands of tiny tissues called nephrons that filter waste materials, toxins and excess fluids from your bloodstream. These are flushed out of your body in the form of urine. urine. Here's a list of the most typical signs of kidney problems that occur from a variety of possible disorders, which may include kidney stones, kidney infections, kidney cancer or kidney damage from some type of physical trauma, like a severe blow to the kidney area. These symptoms are also likely to show up if you have certain conditions like diabetes or high blood pressure. Lower back pain is very often one of the first symptoms of kidney trouble. This back pain may be a mild, nagging ache, or it can be so severe it's actually debilitating. Another common indicator of a kidney disorder is discomfort during urination and urine that is discolored and cloudy or even tinged with blood. Keep in mind, however, these symptoms are also typical of a bladder infection, so it's important to see your doctor for a diagnosis. Most people with kidney trouble also find themselves heading for the bathroom more often than usual, even if little or no urine actually flows out. But this too can also just be a symptom of a bladder infection. Signs of more serious kidney problems like impending kidney failure, a kidney infection or kidney cancer can include: changes in blood pressure, muscle weakness, anemia, lethargy and sleepiness, loss of appetite, cognitive difficulties, stomach discomfort, general swelling, fever and chills, nausea and vomiting, breathlessness, night sweats, increased heart rate and unexplained weight loss. Signs of kidney problems shouldn't be ignored. When you experience one or more of the symptoms I've listed, consult your doctor as soon as you can.
