Don't ignore these warning signs that show your liver is full of toxins. The liver is the largest internal organ in the human body. Its main job is to filter the blood that comes from the digestive tract before it is passed to the rest of the body. Every minute, it receives about 30% of the blood that circulates through your body, making it the hardest working organ. There is always a risk that there are toxins in your liver. #Liver #LiverHealth #LiverDisease Timestamps: 1. Pain In Your Liver - 1:16 2. Your Ankles and Legs Will Swell - 2:00 3. Weight Gain - 2:45 4. Allergies - 3:20 5. Yellow Eyes and Skin - 4:05 6. Chronic Fatigue - 4:44 7. Dark Urine Color - 5:41 8. Nausea and Vomiting - 5:56 9. Loss Of Appetite - 6:15 10. High Levels of Cholesterol - 6:30 Music: https://www.youtube.com/audiolibrary/music Summary: Here are signs that your liver could be full of toxins. 1. Pain In Your Liver: According to Healthline, the first direct sign that your liver is full of toxins is a pain in that general area. The liver is located on the upper right portion of your abdomen, under your stomach and beneath your diaphragm. It is extremely large. The pain that you will feel can be compared to a dull pain. However, depending on the toxins in it, the pain can become unbearable. 2. Your Ankles and Legs Will Swell: The worst thing you can do is ignore your liver issues. If you do this, your liver will be forced to try and repair itself by forming scar tissue. Increased scar tissue makes it extremely tough for the liver to function properly. This will eventually lead to portal hypertension. Portal hypertension is the increased blood pressure within the portal veins. 3. Weight Gain: This can be an easy sign to notice, especially if you live a healthy and active life. If you exercise on a daily basis and have a healthy diet, weight gain should be a red flag for you. If you notice that you’re gaining weight, and it’s not from overeating or a hormonal imbalance, go see your doctor. When the liver is unable to deal with all the toxins coming through, it has to store the unfiltered toxins in fat cells. The only way to start losing weight again is if you help clean out your liver. 4. Allergies: In a lot of cases, your liver being overloaded can cause an allergic reaction. The reason is that there are too many substances entering the bloodstream, and the brain will recognize them as allergens. The brain will immediately release antibodies and chemicals that cause itchy rashes, according to the Daily Health Post. However, if your liver is healthy, it will clear away any potential harmful allergens. Pay close attention to your body. If you notice that you are unusually itchy or have developed a rash, your liver may be overloaded with toxins. 5. Yellow Eyes and Skin: Unless you were born with yellow eyes and skin, this sign is an immediate red flag that there is something wrong with your liver, says the Mayo Clinic. Unnatural yellow eyes and skin mean you’re suffering from jaundice. It’s not an illness but it’s a symptom that your liver is damaged. 6. Chronic Fatigue: Everyone gets tired at times, but fatigue related to liver damage is no normal fatigue. If you have been suffering from constant fatigue for at least 6 months, you could be diagnosed with chronic fatigue, according to the Mayo Clinic. The whole reason why you’re chronically fatigued is that your liver has become toxic. 7. Dark Urine Color: According to Healthline, dark urine is usually a sign of dehydration. But it can also be a sign that your liver is full of toxins and can even signify that you have a liver disease. 8. Nausea and Vomiting: The Mayo Clinic explains that when your liver is full of toxins, you may experience nausea and vomiting because the liver is unable to break down the toxins so they can be properly digested. Watch out for nausea and vomiting along with the other signs in this video. 9. Loss of Appetite: According to the American Liver Foundation, if you have too many toxins in your liver or are starting to develop an acute liver disease, one of the first symptoms you will experience is loss of appetite. 10. High Levels of Cholesterol: A study from the Harvard Medical School in 2005 explains that when your cholesterol levels begin to rise, one of the reasons is because your liver has become extremely toxic. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Subscribe to Bestie : https://goo.gl/tUqro6 ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Our Social Media: Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/bestieinc/ ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- For more videos and articles visit: http://www.bestie.com/

Primary Adrenal Insufficiency Most cases of Addisons disease are caused by the gradual destruction of the adrenal cortex, the outer layer of the adrenal glands, by the body's own immune system. About 70 percent of reported cases of Addisons disease are due to autoimmune disorders, in which the immune system makes antibodies that attack the body's own tissues or organs and slowly destroy them. Adrenal insufficiency occurs when at least 90 percent of the adrenal cortex has been destroyed. As a result, often both glucocorticoid and mineralocorticoid hormones are lacking. Sometimes only the adrenal gland is affected, as in idiopathic adrenal insufficiency; sometimes other glands also are affected, as in the polyendocrine deficiency syndrome. The polyendocrine deficiency syndrome is classified into two separate forms, referred to as type I and type II. Type I occurs in children, and adrenal insufficiency may be accompanied by underactive parathyroid glands, slow sexual development, pernicious anemia, chronic candida infections, chronic active hepatitis, and, in very rare cases, hair loss. Type II, often called Schmidts syndrome, usually afflicts young adults. Features of type II may include an underactive thyroid gland, slow sexual development, and diabetes mellitus. About 10 percent of patients with type II have vitiligo, or loss of pigment, on areas of the skin. Scientists think that the polyendocrine deficiency syndrome is inherited because frequently more than one family member tends to have one or more endocrine deficiencies. Tuberculosis (TB) accounts for about 20 percent of cases of primary adrenal insufficiency in developed countries. When adrenal insufficiency was first identified by Dr. Thomas Addison in 1849, TB was found at autopsy in 70 to 90 percent of cases. As the treatment for TB improved, however, the incidence of adrenal insufficiency due to TB of the adrenal glands has greatly decreased. Less common causes of primary adrenal insufficiency are chronic infections, mainly fungal infections; cancer cells spreading from other parts of the body to the adrenal glands; amyloidosis; and surgical removal of the adrenal glands. Each of these causes is discussed in more detail below.

Regulation of growth by the mTOR pathway Air date: Wednesday, March 20, 2013, 3:00:00 PM Wednesday Afternoon Lecture Series The mammalian target of rapamycin (mTOR), the target of the immunosuppressive drug rapamycin, is the central component of a nutrient- and hormone-sensitive signaling pathway that regulates cell growth and proliferation. This pathway becomes deregulated in many human cancers and plays an important role in the control of metabolism and aging. Sabatini's lab has identified two distinct mTOR-containing proteins complexes, one of which regulates growth through S6K and another that regulates cell survival through Akt. These complexes, mTORC1 and mTORC2, define both rapamycin-sensitive and insensitive branches of the mTOR pathway. New results on the regulation and functions of the mTORC1 and mTORC2 pathways will be discussed. Author: David M. Underactive Thyroid Problems Underactive thyroid problems are also known as low thyroid problems. As these names imply, low thyroid problems result from the underproduction of thyroid hormones. The medical name for a low thyroid condition is hypothyroidism. A hypoactive or underactive thyroid is often characterized by sluggishness or listlessness. Weight gain and irregular infrequent menstruation in women are also typical. Hashimoto's thyroiditis is an autoimmune disorder in which the body attacks and damages thyroid tissue, leading to lower hormone production. Underactive thyroid problems are especially dangerous for newborns and infants because they can lead to the mental retardation and stunted growth. In the United States, the thyroid levels of infants is usually checked soon after birth. If levels are low, treatment begins immediately. Underactive thyroid problems can usually be diagnosed with a simple blood test. Underactive thyroid causes Causes of underactive thyroid or hypothyroidism include: Loss of tissue When hypothyroidism is treated with radiation, tissue destruction may occur. Surgical removal of thyroid tissue can also cause hypothyroidism. Exposure to excessive amounts of iodine These can be found in cold and sinus medicines, certain heart medications, or a number of contrast dyes given before some X-rays. Lithium This drug is often used to treat manic-depression. But one of it's side effects may be underactive thyroid. Antithyroid antibodies People who have diabetes, lupus, rheumatoid arthritis, and chronic hepatitis may have antibodies that cause decreased thyroid hormone production. Congenital factors Hypothyroidism can appear at birth, but thanks to a nationwide infant screening program it is usually diagnosed and treated quickly. Thyroid hormone production deficiencies This condition usually results in a goiter, which is an enlargement of the thyroid gland itself. A goiter is often visible as swelling in the front of the neck. What are the symptoms of underactive thyroid The body requires a certain level of thyroid hormone production to maintain energy levels. Therefore, as mentioned previously, fatigue, sluggishness and a general lack of energy are typical symptoms of an underactive thyroid. Symptoms vary somewhat by age. Infants will experience constipation, poor feeding, excessive tiredness and irritabiility, and possibly jaundice (a yellowing of the skin and eyes). Symptoms in adults could include overwhelming fatigue unusual sensitivity to cold temperatures difficult bowel movements and constipation increased weight despite a lowered appetite dry skin loss of hair and changes in hair texture reduced cognitive and intellectual ability a hoarse voice puffiness around the eyes depression Treatment of underactive thyroid Generally speaking, treatment of underactive thyroid is relatively easy. Simply taking thyroid supplements, especially a thyroid hormone pill known as Levothyroxine once a day will relieve symptoms. Levothyroxine is a pure synthetic made in a laboratory and is formulated to be an exact replacement for a key hormone known as T4. It's important, of course, to determine a proper dosage. This can be done by working with your doctor. Following a thyroid diet plan will also help. Some patients will notice improvement in as little as a week or two, but it's often about a month before the patient begins to feel normal. Unfortunately, once underactive thyroid problems have begun, they often continue for the rest of the patient's life.

Leptin and the neural circuit regulation food intake and glucose metabolism Air date: Wednesday, January 11, 2017, 3:00:00 PM Category: WALS - Wednesday Afternoon Lectures Runtime: 00:57:39 Description: NIH Director’s Wednesday Afternoon Lecture Series The discovery of leptin has led to the elucidation of a robust physiologic system that maintains fat stores at a relatively constant level. Leptin is a peptide hormone secreted by adipose tissue in proportion to its mass. This hormone circulates in blood and acts on the hypothalamus to regulate food intake and energy expenditure. When fat mass falls, plasma leptin levels fall stimulating appetite and suppressing energy expenditure until fat mass is restored. When fat mass increases, leptin levels increase, suppressing appetite until weight is lost. By such a mechanism, total energy stores are stably maintained within a relatively narrow range. Recessive mutations in the leptin gene are associated with massive obesity in mice and some humans. Treatment with recombinant leptin markedly reduces food intake and body weight. The low leptin levels in patients with leptin mutations are also associated with multiple abnormalities including infertility, diabetes, and immune abnormalities all of which are corrected by leptin treatment. These findings have established important links between energy stores and many other physiologic systems and led to the use of leptin as a treatment for an increasing number of other human conditions including a subset of obesity, some forms of diabetes including lipodystrophy and hypothalamic amenorrhea, the cessation of menstruation seen in extremely thin women. Identification of a physiologic system that controls energy balance establishes a biologic basis for obesity. Recent studies have explored the relationship between leptin and the reward value of food. In addition, new methods for identifying neurons activated by leptin and other stimuli have been developed as have methods for noninvasively activating cells using radio waves. These new approaches are being applied to studies of the neural processes that control feeding, a complex motivational behavior. The therapy or treatment of hepatitis B infection is sometimes not straight forward. The affected person may experience multiple phases of the hepatitis B infection over his or her lifetime. There are some individuals who are in a phase called immune tolerant phase. These are typically younger individuals who have been exposed to the virus at a very young age typically by their mother at the time of birth. These individuals if their blood is checked for the level of the hepatitis B virus typically have very high level of the virus. However their liver functions or liver enzymes such as SGOT or SGPT also called as ASG and AST might be normal. Many times we watch them without necessarily starting any anti viral medications. In some other individuals their immune system reacts to the hepatitis B infection and these individuals are in a phase called the active phase. When we look at the liver enzyme levels they might be elevated or high. Many times one consider starting anti viral therapy to these individuals. The choice of the anti viral therapy it could be an injection in the form of pegylated interferon or oral tablets such as tenofovir or some other options are typically best taken in consultation with expertise in treating hepatitis. There are many individuals who are in a state of inactive phase. In these individuals the hepatitis virus levels might be low and their liver enzymes will be low. In these individuals we typically tend to watch or monitor. There are some individuals who might have hepatitis infection and might also have some complication of hepatitis B infection like cirrhosis or liver cancer or liver failure. These individuals are best managed by someone with expertise in managing hepatitis or a pathologist. There are some other individuals who are exposed to the virus who may spontaneously clear the hepatitis by their immune system. This is said to be spontaneous clearance. If you are one of the lucky individual you will not need any treatment.

This is the VOA Special English Health Report, from http://voaspecialenglish.com | http://facebook.com/voalearningenglish A few months ago, government researchers released the latest American Time Use Survey. It included the average time per day that Americans spent providing child care between two thousand six and two thousand ten. Among adults living with children under age six, women spent one hour and six minutes a day providing physical care like bathing or feeding. Men spent twenty-six minutes. Yet a new study suggests that men are biologically designed to care for their children. It confirmed that testosterone levels drop after men become fathers. Testosterone is the main sex hormone responsible for the changes when a boy develops into a man. Women also produce testosterone but in much lower amounts. Earlier studies showed that fathers have lower levels of testosterone than childless men. Christopher Kuzawa at Northwestern University in Evanston, Illinois, says there are at least two possible explanations: "Is it that fatherhood reduces your testosterone? Or do men with low testosterone to begin with, are they more likely to become fathers? And so what we did is, we followed men through time and measured their hormones before and after they became fathers."The researchers used findings from a long-term study of men in the Philippines. Their testosterone levels were measured in two thousand five and two thousand nine. Some of the men were childless; others became fathers during that time. And those were the men where the researchers saw the largest decline in testosterone. The study found that levels dropped by about half immediately after the birth of a child, then rose some. Men who were active in child care produced less than those who were not active. Testosterone may drop in fathers to get them to pay more attention to parenting than to reproducing. But Professor Kuzawa says there are other good reasons as well: "Having high levels of testosterone can increase your risk for diseases like prostate cancer [and] testicular cancer." The study is in the Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences. Studies have shown a similar drop in other mammals and in birds after mating periods to allow for care giving. Animal studies have also shown that the greater the involvement of males, the lower their testosterone levels. We asked Thomas McDade, another author of the study, if levels also drop in men who adopt children. That is an interesting question, he says, and the "next obvious thing to study." For VOA Special English, I'm Carolyn Presutti. (Adapted from a radio program broadcast 21Sep2011)

Indeed, this herb has been long valued as a demulcent to soothe and coat inflamed tissues of the mouth, throat, and digestive and urinary tracts. In addition to its important uses as a demulcent, the herb acts as an expectorant, which has also been long valued. Glycyrrhizin, which is the main active ingredient in licorice root acts as an expectorant by loosing and thinning mucus and phlegm from the respiratory tract, making it easier to cough up. Glycyrrhizin also harbors anti-inflammatory properties. Today, alternative health care professionals continue to use the benefits of licorice root to relieve respiratory ailments such as bronchitis, colds, coughs, congestion, sore throat, and allergies. In addition, it is used for stomach problems (including heartburn from reflux), inflammatory disorders, skin conditions (including eczema and psoriasis), minor skin infections, and liver problems. But wait, there's more info about the health benefits of licorice root .. Recent animal studies have shown that licorice root enhances immunity by boosting levels of interferon. Interferon is one of nature's most powerful antiviral agents -- it helps to keep viruses from reproducing as well as it simulates the activity of other beneficial immune cells. Not surprising, other studies have shown that licorice fights the herpes simplex virus, which is the troublemaker that causes genital herpes and cold sores. European physicians treasure the health benefits of licorice root, meaning they highly regard it as one of the top herbal medicines for combating viral hepatitis. They use the intravenous form for the treatment of Hepatitis B and C. However, people who want to take advantage of licorice's possible healing action for hepatitis should discuss the herb with a knowledgeable health care provider. Recent studies indicate that licorice root also contains substances that kill certain bacteria and the fungus responsible for vaginal yeast infections. One of the most popular uses for this healing herb is for ulcers of the digestive tract. The benefits of licorice root are quite multifaceted in this area! According to the well-renowned tome "The Natural Physicians Healing Therapies" by Mark Stengler, N.D. the author states: "It stimulates cell growth of the stomach and intestinal linings, increases the natural mucous lining of the stomach, increases blood flow to the damaged tissues, and decreases muscle spasms." The recommended form of use is DGL (glycyrrhetinic acid). (Page 311.) Licorice root also seems to support the adrenal glands -- making these adrenal hormones such as cortisol (the body's primary stress-fighting adrenal hormone) more available to the body. As such, licorice may help lessen symptoms of chronic fatigue syndrome and fibromyalgia by enhancing cortisol activity. Licorice root contains phytoestrogens that appear to have mild estrogen-like effects. As such, it is commonly included in formulas to help combat PMS and menopausal complaints. Licorice root also contains various flavonoids, which are potent antioxidants. Some experts point out that one -- among the arsenal of benefits of licorice root is that it's an excellent liver tonic. Lastly, licorice is considered a "harmonizing" herb, which means when used in a formula licorice can enhance other herbs to work more effectively to reduce their toxicity. In addition, it has the ability to tame the bitter taste of many other medicinal herbs. Other Licorice Health Benefits Licorice may also help to: •Protect against cancer due to its antioxidant properties •Control canker sores by accelerating its healing WWW.FRANKTORTORICI.COM

Acute kidney injury (also called acute renal failure) nursing NCLEX review lecture on the nursing management, stages, pathophysiology, and causes (prerenal, intrarenal, postrenal). What is Acute Kidney Injury? It is the SUDDEN decrease in renal function that leads to the build up of waste in the blood, fluid overload, and electrolyte imbalances. What are the causes of Acute Kidney Injury? There are three causes, which are based on location. The first is known as prerenal injury and this is an issue with the perfusion to the kidneys that leads to decreased renal function. A second cause is known as intrarenal injury, and this is due to damage to the nephrons of the kidney. Lastly, postrenal injury is due to a blockage located in the urinary tract after the kidney that can extend to the urethra. This is causing the back flow of urine, which increases the pressure and waste in the kidneys. Stages of Acute Kidney Injury: There are four stage of acute kidney injury, which include initiation, oliguric, diuresis, and recovery stage. The initiation stage starts when a cause creates an injury to the kidney and then signs and symptoms start to appear. This leads to the oliguric stages. The patient will void less than 400 mL/day of urine during this stage and will experience increased BUN/creatinine levels, azotemia, hyperkalemia, hypervolemia, increase phosphate and decreased calcium levels along with metabolic acidosis. After this stage the patient can progress to the diuresis stage and this is where the patient will void 3-6 Liters of urine per day due to osmotic diuresis. The patient is at risk for hypokalemia, dehydration, and hypovolemia. The last stage is recovery and the patient's glomerular filtration rate has returned to normal. Therefore, the kidneys are able to maintain normal BUN and creatinine levels, electrolyte, and water levels. Cirrhosis of the liver is a chronic disease that occurs as a result of damage to the liver over several years. It’s a progressive disease in which healthy liver tissue is destroyed and replaced by scar tissue, resulting in poor liver functioning. Home remedies for cirrhosis of the liver | Cirrhosis treatment 2015 The main causes of cirrhosis of the liver are long-standing alcohol abuse, fatty liver disease associated with obesity and diabetes, and viral hepatitis B and C. Home remedies for cirrhosis of the liver | Cirrhosis treatment 2015 According to the National Digestive Diseases Information Clearinghouse, men who consume 3 to 4 alcoholic drinks and women who consume 2 to 3 alcoholic drinks per day are at an increased risk of developing this problem. Home remedies for cirrhosis of the liver | Cirrhosis treatment 2015 The disease can also be caused by conditions like primary biliary cirrhosis, autoimmune hepatitis, toxic hepatitis, hemochromatosis (iron buildup in the body), repeated bouts of heart failure with liver congestion, cystic fibrosis and others. If the cirrhosis is mild, the liver makes repairs and continues to function properly, but as the disease progresses and more scar tissue forms, the damage becomes irreparable. Home remedies for cirrhosis of the liver | Cirrhosis treatment 2015 Symptoms of cirrhosis include loss of appetite, fatigue, nausea and vomiting, weight loss, itchy skin, jaundice, edema, muscle cramps, a tendency to bleed and bruise more easily and the appearance of small, spider-like blood vessels under the skin. Home remedies for cirrhosis of the liver | Cirrhosis treatment 2015 There may be only a few symptoms in the early stages of this disease, with more symptoms developing as it progresses. There is no cure for this disease. When treating cirrhosis, it is essential to determine the underlying cause. Treatment is usually aimed at preventing further liver damage and reducing complications. Home remedies for cirrhosis of the liver | Cirrhosis treatment 2015 Along with your doctor’s prescribed treatment, you will need to make some diet and lifestyle changes. Plus, you can use some home remedies to help improve your condition. However, consult your doctor before trying any herbal remedies and supplements. Chronic renal failure, also called chronic kidney disease, nursing NCLEX review lecture on the pathophysiology, symptoms, stages, and causes. Chronic kidney disease is a significant decline in kidney function that happens over a long period of time that leads to the buildup of waste, water, and electrolyte imbalances in the body. CKD is irreversible. There are various stages of chronic kidney disease and each stage is based on the patient's glomerular filtration rate (GFR). Stage 1 is kidney disease with normal renal function (GFR greater than 90 mL/min) and proteinuria for 3 months or more. Each stage progresses with a declining glomerular filtration rate until the GFR is 15 mL/min or less and this is known as end-stage renal disease, which is Stage 5. In the severe stages of chronic renal failure, the GFR is dramatically decreased and this leads to the following signs and symptoms of chronic kidney disease: increased BUN and creatinine levels, hypervolemia, electrolyte imbalances (hyperkalemia, hyperphosphatemia, hypocalcemia, hypermagnesemia, oliguira or anuria, metabolic acidosis, and proteinuria/hematuria). In addition, the kidneys are no longer producing hormones, such as EPO (erythopoietin) or renin. This leads to anemia and more hypertension. Furthermore, the kidneys are failing to activate vitamin, which leads to more hypocalcemia. Treatment for chronic renal failure includes dialysis, medications, and kidney transplant. Nursing interventions for chronic renal failure include diet implementation, monitoring fluid status, vital signs, administering medications per physician order, monitoring electrolyte levels etc. Quiz on Chronic Kidney Disease: http://www.registerednursern.com/chronic-kidney-disease-nclex-practice-questions/ Notes: http://www.registerednursern.com/chronic-kidney-disease-nclex-review/ More Renal Lectures: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLQrdx7rRsKfXkfh1nWrtxLcRTrohj41su Subscribe: http://www.youtube.com/subscription_center?add_user=registerednursern Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/RegisteredNurseRNs/ Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/registerednursern_com/ Nursing School Supplies: http://www.registerednursern.com/the-ultimate-list-of-nursing-medical-supplies-and-items-a-new-nurse-student-nurse-needs-to-buy/ Visit our website RegisteredNurseRN.com for free quizzes, nursing care plans, salary information, job search, and much more: http://www.registerednursern.com Check out other Videos: https://www.youtube.com/user/RegisteredNurseRN/videos All of our videos in a playlist: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pAhHxt663pU&list=PLQrdx7rRsKfXMveRcN4df0bad3ugEaQnk

Questions & Answers 227 05:03 - Johny - I have been watching your youtube videos in hope to find an answer to my Cardiac Neurosis and it seems as there are none on that topic. Please if it is not asking too much, make a video or include me in your Q&A. What herbs can I take to heal this? 12:06 - Amon -- I am a 25-year-old male with an active lifestyle. I have been on the quest to fixing my own issues and need a solution. I constantly have to cough up mucus from my throat whenever I finish eating and have clogged sinuses whenever I eat certain foods, which has been a nightmare for the past year. I believe I am lactose intolerant and try to remove all dairy products out of my diet, but somehow I cannot stop this constant phlegm. 21:40 - Dr. Paula -- I would really appreciate your opinion of the Carey Reams Biological Theory of Ionization. Carey Reams was a contemporary of Bernard Jensen. Reams was really an agrarian who believed that the human body was terrain, much like soil, and needed to be in balance minerally in order to elicit perfect health. This was accomplished by analyzing the urine and saliva for PH, nitrogen content, sugar content, dissolved solids, and can be quite complicated. 36:41 - Pras -- I am a 29-year-old male from United Kingdom, with the help of your teachings and herbs/gland formulas, I have fully recovered from lifelong "chronic asthma and eczema". Wooohoo! I was on daily albuterol inhalers and used steroids cream daily. Now I am on no medications at all. 45:30 - Aaron -- Thank you so much for what you do everyday. My family and I have learned so much over the last couple of years and attribute that to you and your teaching. Everything I've learned myself is because my wife found you in her quest to find her own health and healing, which is why I write to you today. First I would like to give you a little bit of history on our specific situation. I am in the army, and have been for almost 14 years now. I have deployed 4 times in the past, and the requirement to be away from my family never slows down, which has given me my own set of issues dealing with constant stress. And, as you can imagine, eating healthy in the army is not an easy task. The idea of processed and packaged food was invented by the military to be able to feed the soldiers during WWII, and they haven't slowed one bit. Neither has the training. Because of that, we struggle immensely. This stress is what my main concern is. As the military is slowly being degraded, I find it harder and harder to separate myself and leave the stress on base. So I bring it home....every single day. This stress and constantly being apart has taken its toll on our marriage to the point where there isn't much of a relationship anymore as much as there are two people living together, which creates its own stress, and it all snowballs from there. These are the things I want to fix. This all compounds the deep depression and anxiety issues my wife is battling now. Its to the point that she is never relaxed, her nerves are always pinging from even the smallest amount of stress, which these days can also trigger a migraine headache for her. Reading your book, and listening to your videos we know there are some adrenal / parathyroid issues, on top of the standard kidney issues with stagnant lymph in the head and neck area. However, I'm worried that there will not be any real healing as long as the stress is constant, and that we're wasting time buying and taking the herbs. She has been on the fab 4 for a while (as much as our income will allow) along with a short time of some glandulars. Her diet is pretty good, but not as good as it could be. Mornings are usually started with a warm cup of distilled water with fresh lemon juice and a little syrup to sweeten it. The rest of the day is fruit, and a salad for dinner (dinner is usually where we usually slip up and eat something we shouldn't). With that, what would you recommend for her to help ease some of this so she can continue to get healthy? Also, I would like to know about giving a glandular to children. Our son is 11 years old and has been taking herbs for about a year now. Knowing now that my wife and I weren't the healthiest when he was born tells me he may need the same glandular kick that we do, but we worry about giving him more than his body can handle. Thank you so much for everything you've done for people like us. You've given us so much priceless information and a ticket to a better life that could never be repaid. Your staff is awesome too. I've called down there several times to get advice, and it's hard these days to find people that actually want to help.

9 Early Signs of Liver Damage 1. Nausea and Vomiting Many people ignore nausea and vomiting as it is usually not considered to be a serious medical problem. If nausea and vomiting occur separately or together without any known reason, such as motion sickness, dizziness, a migraine, food poisoning, early pregnancy, anxiety and depression, it can be due to a kidney or liver problem. People suffering from liver damage often have a persistent feeling of nausea. This arises due to the liver’s diminished ability to process and eliminate toxins. Changes in metabolism and digestion also cause nausea and vomiting. Constant feelings of nausea or vomiting can wreak havoc on your health and should be investigated thoroughly by a doctor. 2. General Weakness and Tiredness Constant feeling of fatigue and tiredness can also be a tell-tale sign of improper liver functioning. It is the liver that breaks down food to release energy required for performing daily tasks. When the liver is not in good condition, your body needs to work harder in order to survive and hence needs more rest. Plus, fatigue and weakness are likely to worsen due to an increase in toxic products in the blood, which the damaged liver is not able to eliminate properly. If the feelings of weakness and tiredness are present along with any other symptoms mentioned in this article, consult your doctor for a diagnosis. 3. Loss of Appetite Loss of appetite is also one of the early signs that your liver is not working properly. If you experience loss of appetite along with any other symptoms mentioned here, make an appointment with your doctor immediately as it could be a sign of chronic liver disease, hepatitis or kidney failure. People with liver damage may not feel like eating anything, due to the problem with bile production. Bile helps break down fats so that they can be digested. When food is not digested properly, it often leads to loss of appetite and even severe weight loss. Significant changes in appetite can also make a person weak and tired, which can further hinder recovery. 4. Digestive Issues The liver plays an active role in the digestion process through the production of bile. Bile helps process the nutrients absorbed from the small intestine and plays an important role in digesting fat. Thus, if the liver begins to malfunction, it can result in digestive problems like diarrhea and indigestion. Abnormalities in bile production can also lead to gallstones, abdominal bloating, constipation, irritable bowel syndrome and intolerance to fatty foods and alcohol. When the damage is severe, it can cause severe abdominal pain that often sends people to the doctor. 5. Fluid Retention Early liver damage can also lead to fluid retention that causes swelling in the feet and ankles. This is also related to ascites and portal hypertention. Also, liver damage affects liver function and causes changes in the secretion of fluid-regulation chemicals. Other possible causes of fluid retention are a hormonal imbalance in the body, kidney-related problems, heart disease and a problem with the lymphatic system. Hence, it is important to consult a doctor for proper diagnosis. 6. Changes in Urine Color If you are drinking enough fluid and your urine has a darker color, it may be an indication of a liver problem. Dark-colored urine can look orange, amber or brown. The change in urine color occurs due to an increased level of bilirubin in the bloodstream. This happens when the liver is unable to eliminate bilirubin via excretion through the kidneys. 7. Changes in Stool Color Changes in stool color may also indicate liver trouble. A well-functioning liver releases bile into the stool, giving it the normal brown color. 8. Yellowing of Skin One of the early signs of liver damage is jaundice, where yellowing of the skin, eyes, tongue and fingernails or fingertips is noticeable. Jaundice is caused by a buildup of bilirubin in the blood and body tissue that the liver normally would get rid of along with old red blood cells. Bilirubin is a yellow pigment that is formed by the breakdown of dead red blood cells in the liver. 9. Changes in the Abdominal Area Changes in the abdominal area is another possible sign of a malfunctioning liver. You may experience pain or cramping in the lower abdominal area as well as swelling. This can quickly lead to the feeling of bloating. Medically, these symptoms relate to the problem known as ascites. Doctors and scientists have not yet found what causes chronic fatigue syndrome. Infections and other medical and biological events are among the many possible triggers, but with no certain cause this disease is difficult to diagnose. A systematic approach to evaluating people with persistent symptoms combined with new diagnostic criteria offers hope for more accurate and faster diagnosis. I’ve had this problem for over a year now. 36:42 – Envoyé – My son Jonathan was a very successful and bright guy before his inner ear surgery. He had an inner ear surgery in March 2013 and had a pulmonary embolism. He has now scars into the cerebellum and suffer from a cerebellum symptom. 44:40 – Florence – I have a query regarding scar tissue and stretch marks. I have them on my hips, breast, etc. If I started detoxing, could I expect them to get eaten up and if so, how long mat that take? 56:50 - Dawn - My name is Dawn.. Now 46 years of age. Iv now watched all of your YouTube videos in amazement and shared them with many... Some history... It all connects.. Mother always anxious when i was a child. I had my first panic attacks from age 13 after Tonsils removed. Lots of antibiotics and sore throats. Ear infections and water infections.. Mother was born with 2 kidneys but one was shrunk and tiny. She went on to develop, wait for it, over active thyroid, pernicious anemia, angina, auto immune defficiency depression and now high blood preasure. Whilst carrying my brother she lost all off her teeth to no calcium. In fact they removed them at the same time as her C section under general anesthetic as doctor told her she was very ill whilst anesthetized. 1:21:33 - Hasan – I’ve been on medication for my thyroid and my diabetes since age 11 years. He isn’t an alcoholic but there is history of hepatitis b somewhere in the past which is not active now. We went for its treatment in many higher centres in india...but got no diagnosis or treatment yet. In December 2015 he also got severe septicemia because of repeated fluid removal and he was in hospital for like 6 months in icu. Also underwent a liver biopsy n mri and it shows only Nash and splenomegaly and slight sequalea of portal hypertension. Sir right now the only major major problem is Ascites which isn’t getting treated with any means ...no diuretic is working either. Also is albumin level is quite low 1:37:53 – Tina - I’m writing to you because of my older sister who is 27 years old and has been diagnosed with a tumor of the adrenal glands. The tumor seems to be non-functional and neither surgery nor chemo would be an option (according to the oncologists it’s a carcinoma). Her lymph nodes of the neck also became swollen by the end of October 2016 and they’re still swollen today, but haven’t changed in size. Besides of the tumor, my sister is doing amazing and feeling great (probably due to all the supplements she is taking). She doesn’t seem to be sick at all. We also started our own natural cancer treatment in summer 2016. It all looked good until the lymph nodes became swollen (the tumor even stagnated in the beginning of October 2016). I’m starting to think that the lymph nodes just might be clogged).

Today I'm discussing another very popular IV that I do at my office, and this is intravenous glutathione. This is a sulfur containing compound that is known for being the master antioxidant in the body and detoxifier. Glutathione is very poorly absorbed from the intestines, and it must be taken intravenously to achieve high levels in the body. If you can't do it intravenously, glutathione can be raised in the blood by eating cruciferous vegetables, such as broccoli, cauliflower, collards, or by taking the sulfur bearing compounds alpha lipoic acid and NAC, N-acetyl cysteine. Patients seek me for glutathione for various conditions. The most popular has been from the book published on it about using glutathione for treating Parkinson's disease. I've treated numerous Parkinson's patients over the years, and I've seen many benefits, including less tremor, more mobility, and even a patient who could leave assisted living and go live on their own. Glutathione can also help improve immunity, help treat other chronic diseases that are made worse by oxidative stress, such as hepatitis. So if you can't take it as an IV, I would encourage you to take those supplements if you suffer from Parkinson's disease. If you'd like to come see me as a patient, I encourage you to make an appointment. It's a very affordable treatment, and I do IV glutathione daily at my office. Visit us to learn more about IV Glutathione http://www.dradrianmd.com/store/pc/IV-Therapy-d8.htm Glutathione has become increasingly popular thanks to the work of Dr. David Perlmutter, a neurologist who has had great success treating Parkinson's disease. Glutathione (GSH) is a tripeptide meaning it contains 3 amino acids including cysteine. The supplement NAC supplements cysteine and increases glutathione. It is an antioxidant and prevents cellular damage from ROS (reactive oxygen species) such as free radicals and peroxides. Glutathione also maintains other antioxidants, including vitamins C and E, in their active or reduced forms. It is vital for the proper synthesis and repair of DNA, and numerous other critical biochemical pathways affecting every system of the body including the nervous and immune systems and liver function. Glutathione improves the liver's ability to remove countless toxins including heavy metals. Considering its central and multifaceted role in biology, it is no wonder that most every health condition can be improved by this compound. Unfortunately, glutathione is poorly if at all absorbed through the GI tract making IV glutathione administration the only way to effectively raise glutathione levels to disease reversing levels. Regular consumption of Brassica family vegetables which are high in cysteine and supplementation with NAC and lipoic acid can elevate GSH. In our office, we have witnessed many patients enjoy an improvement in Parkinson's symptoms including less tremor, less rigidity and more functionality. We offer Glutathione as an additional small bag tagged onto the end of IV C or chelation therapy. Dr. Adrian J. Hohenwarter Your Partner in Helping you to Heal Yourself.

Childhood trauma isn’t something you just get over as you grow up. Pediatrician Nadine Burke Harris explains that the repeated stress of abuse, neglect and parents struggling with mental health or substance abuse issues has real, tangible effects on the development of the brain. This unfolds across a lifetime, to the point where those who’ve experienced high levels of trauma are at triple the risk for heart disease and lung cancer. An impassioned plea for pediatric medicine to confront the prevention and treatment of trauma, head-on. FACTS ABOUT GOJI BERRIES: Contain 19 amino acids -- the building blocks of protein -- including all eight that are essential for life. Contain 21 trace minerals, including germanium, an anti-cancer trace mineral rarely found in foods. Goji Juice contains approximately 124 ppm of organic Germanium. Germanium has been demonstrated to have anti-cancer activity. Japanese studies indicate that organic Germanium is effective in treating liver cancer, lung cancer, uterine cancer, cervical cancer, and testicular cancer when combined with other drugs. It has been found to induce the production in human beings of g-interferon. Interferon can depress and even kill cancer cells. Germanium possesses the power to take over the hydrogen ion from cancer cells. Losing hydrogen ions can cause depression and even death to cancer cells. Contains more protein than whole wheat (13 percent in the form of amino acids) Contains a complete spectrum of antioxidant carotenoids, including beta-carotene a better source than even carrots!) and zeaxanthin (protects the eyes). Goji berries are the richest source of carotenoids of all known foods. Contains Vitamin C at higher levels than even those found in oranges. Contains B-complex vitamins, necessary for converting food into energy. Contains Vitamin E (very rarely found in fruits, only in grains and seeds). Contains an anti-inflammatory agent called Beta-Sitosterol. Beta-Sitosterol also lowers cholesterol and has been used to treat sexual impotence and prostate enlargement. Contains essential fatty acids, which are required for the body's production of hormones and for the smooth functioning of the brain and nervous system, INCLUDING OMEGA 3 which is essential for excellent health and not readily available in most foods. Contains a compound called Cyperone that benefits the heart and blood pressure, alleviates menstrual discomfort, and has been used in the treatment of cervical cancer. Contains a powerful anti-fungal and anti-bacterial compound called Solavetivone. Contains a natural compound that is active against all major types of leukaemia called Physalin,. It has been shown to increase splenic natural killer cell activity in normal and tumour-bearing mice, with broad-spectrum anti-cancer effect. It has also been used as a treatment for hepatitis B. Contains Betaine, which is used by the liver to produce choline, a compound that calms nervousness, enhances memory, promotes muscle growth, and protects against fatty liver disease. Betaine also provides methyl groups in the body's energy reactions and can help reduce levels of homocysteine, a prime risk factor in heart disease. It also protects DNA. Containes polysaccharides which have been demonstrated to strongly fortify the immune system. In Mongolia it is commonly used by first trimester mothers to prevent morning sickness. It is a gentle and soothing fruit that is loaded with available vitality. Contains super high levels of antioxidants. What is an antioxidant? Just like rust on a car, oxidation can cause damage to cells by producing what are called "free radicals". Some people believe that free radicals are a major cause of aging. Antioxidants help prevent oxidation. Many people believe that antioxidants increase immune function and decrease aging. Goji juice has proven its amazing results on the following health conditions: dengue, Gouty Arthritis, diabetes, Myoma, Anemia, Chronic Dry Cough, Insomnia, Hemorrhoid (almoranas), Goiter, Sexual Performance Problem, Lupus, Cancer (breast, lung, ovarian, cervical, colon, prostate, leukemia, etc.), Allergies, Side effects of chemotheraphy & radiation, Asthma, High blood/ high choelsterol, Psoriasis, Schizophrenia/ meningitis, Pimples, Stroke/ heart diseases, Cataract, Fibromyalgia (chronic muscle pain), Gallstones, Headaches & dizziness, Toothache, Menopausal symptoms, Memory Loss, Morning sickness, Infertility, Kidney Problem, Liver Disease, Food Poisoning and manymore. The social life of bacteria: collapse of a culture Air date: Wednesday, January 20, 2016, 3:00:00 PM Category: WALS - Wednesday Afternoon Lectures Runtime: 01:06:52 Description: Wednesday Afternoon Lecture Series Dr. Greenberg is interested in how and why individual cells communicate with each other. In particular, he has studied the bacterial communication system—called quorum sensing—and how it controls cooperation in groups of bacteria. In his lecture, he will focus on a human pathogen, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, which uses a transcription factor called LasR to activate dozens of genes in response to the LasI-produced quorum-sensing signal 3OC12-HSL. The most overrepresented LasR-controlled genes code for the synthesis of exoproducts. Exoproducts are common goods that are made by individuals and shared within the group. Members of quorum-sensing groups are thus thought of as cooperators. Quorum-sensing cooperators, however, are susceptible to invasion by social cheaters—LasR mutants that benefit from cooperator-derived common goods without incurring a production cost. Greenberg will discuss three questions related to this bacterial social activity: 1) If social cheaters have a fitness advantage over cooperators, then how can cooperation be evolutionarily stable (Darwin’s dilemma)? He will describe one molecular mechanism that restrains cheating; 2) Why do cooperators and cheaters reach an equilibrium and co-exist with each other in some situations? He will describe how cooperators police cheaters; and 3) Can we manipulate conditions to induce a breakdown in cooperation and a catastrophic population crash? He will show that this crash can occur when the cost of cooperation is increased or when policing is eliminated. He will discuss the implications of this sociobiology view of P. aeruginosa population ecology in the context of chronic infections and general cell-cell interactions. Underactive Thyroid Treatment With 5 Natural Herbs Hypothyroidism, also known as underactive thyroid or low thyroid, refers to a condition in which the thyroid gland is not able to make enough hormones to keep the body running normally. While you cannot control hereditary and some environmental factors, you can still lower your risk of an underactive thyroid by making healthy diet and lifestyle choices. A well-planned diet can help prevent many cancers. To treat your underactive thyroid, medications are needed. Treatment of hypothyroidism with synthetic thyroid hormones is a simple, safe and effective option. However, certain foods can also help improve thyroid health and boost the effectiveness of your metabolism. Here's a list of some of the best foods and herbs to eat if your goal is to prevent and cure an underactive thyroid. 01:02 Brazil Nuts. 02:05 Coconut Oil. 03:09 Yogurt 04:07 Salmon 05:06 Seaweed Selenium is an important mineral for proper thyroid functioning. It protects the thyroid from inflammatory by products of hormone production. A 2015 study published in The Journal of Clinical Endocrinology & Metabolism notes that low selenium is associated with increased risk of thyroid disease. Moreover, increased selenium intake may reduce this risk. The best source of selenium is Brazil nuts. A 2008 study published in the American Journal of Clinical Nutrition states that eating two Brazil nuts on a daily basis is effective for increasing selenium status. Coconut oil contains healthy medium-chain fatty acids that help people suffering from hypothyroidism. These fatty acids stimulate thyroid hormone production as well as keep the gland functioning normally. Furthermore, coconut oil promotes weight loss and reduces cholesterol levels, two common issues related to underactive thyroid. Yogurt is also good for your thyroid health, due to its high vitamin D content. In fact, vitamin D deficiency is linked to Hashimoto’s disease, one of the most common causes of hypothyroidism. A 2013 study published in Endocrine Practice reports that vitamin D has a potential role in development of Hashimoto’s disease and/or its progression to hypothyroidism. Salmon is one of the best fish that you can eat for your thyroid health and metabolism. It also boasts significant anti-inflammatory properties, due to its rich omega-3 fatty acid content. Numerous studies document the health benefits of salmon. A 2010 study published in The Journal of Nutritional Biochemistry suggests that fatty acids signal thyroid cells in the liver to burn more fat. A 2014 study published in Acta Physiologica Hungarica reports that omega-3 fatty acids could be useful as a neuro-protective agent against cognitive impairment due to hypothyroidism. To help your thyroid gland function properly, iodine is necessary. Iodine attaches to the amino acid tyrosine to form thyroxin, which is essential for your thyroid to function properly. An inadequate level of iodine in the body inhibits the production of metabolism-regulating thyroid hormones. To get your daily dose of iodine without increasing your salt intake, seaweed is one of the best options. This sea vegetable is also packed with other nutrients, including calcium, fiber, protein, phosphorus, magnesium, selenium, manganese, iron and vitamins A, B, C, E and K. Well, If you experience any of the following 5 Common Signs of thyroid that I mentioned above, you should not ignore it. It’s important to tell your health care provider to have them checked by your doctor. So that the cause can be found and treated, if needed. Being proactive can lead to earlier treatment and a better outlook. Thank you for watching "Underactive Thyroid Treatment" Early Detection Could Save Your Life Longer. Liver is one of the busiestpody. It works tirelessly to detoxify blood, produce the bile needed for the digestion of fat, and also store essential vitamins, minerals and iron. The liver also makes proteins important for blood clotting and other functions. Liver serves as the body’s primary site of detoxification, metabolizing harmful external substances such as alcohol, drugs, and toxic chemicals; breaking down excess insulin, estrogen, and other hormones. Improving liver function helps give the whole body a reboot. Important functions of liver Destruction of old red blood cells. Processing nutrients absorbed by the intestines. An unhealthy diet and poor lifestyle can overload the liver. When the liver is overworked and overloaded, it can’t process toxins and fat in an efficient way. There are many foods that can help to cleanse and rejuvenate the liver naturally by stimulating its natural ability to clean toxic waste from the body. Here are the best 11 liver-cleansing super foods: 1. Garlic Garlic contains allicin and selenium, two natural compounds that play an integral role in the protection of the liver from damage. Garlic contains numerous sulfur-containing compounds that has the ability to activate liver enzymes responsible for expelling toxins from the body. Garlic also helps to reduce cholesterol. Eat 2 to 3 raw garlic cloves everyday instead of processed garlic or powder. 2. Grapefruit Grapefruit is high in vitamin C and glutathione antioxidants, it helps to increase natural cleansing processes of the liver. Grapefruit contains over 70mg of glutathione, which assists the liver in the production of detox enzymes. Glutathione help in several processes in the body, tissue building and repair, production of proteins and strengthening immune system. Drink a small amount of freshly squeezed grapefruit juice for a few days. 3. Turmeric The main active ingredient in turmeric is curcumin, which is a powerful antioxidant and anti-inflammatory. Turmeric increases natural bile production, helps for regeneration of damaged liver cells and aids in keeping the body toxin-free. Turmeric also reduces joint pain, is an effective anti-depressant, aids in digestion, helps to restore a healthy blood sugar balance, and supports healthy liver tissue and liver metabolism[ 1]. Include Turmeric in your food or take Turmeric capsules for two week. 4. Avocados Avocados are rich in glutathione, a compound that is necessary for the liver to cleanse harmful toxins and function properly. Avocados also helps to reduce low-density lipoproteins or “bad” cholesterol(LDL) and increase high-density lipoproteins or “good” cholesterol(HDL). Eat 2 or 3 avocados every week for the liver cleansing. 5. Lemons Warm lemon water is a great way to detox your liver, it produces more enzymes in response to water with lemon than to any other food. Lemon contain very high amounts of vitamin C and antioxidant D-Limonene, which helps to produce enzymes for digestion and helps mineral absorption by the liver. Also D-limonene is a powerful cancer fighting antioxidant. Drinking warm lemon water in the morning helps stimulate the liver. You can add honey for a taste but not sugar. 6. Apples Apples contain high amount of pectin which helps to release toxins from the digestive tract. This in turn prevents liver to handle toxic load during the cleansing process. Pectin has been shown to reduce blood cholesterol(LDL) levels. 7. Green Tea Green Tea beverage is full of antioxidants known as catechins, a compound which assist liver function. Drinking green tea daily can help body to flush out toxins. Catechins in tea stimulate lipid catabolism in the liver which prevents fat accumulation in the liver.
