Dissected Black Lung, Lung Disease and Coal Power

02:00
According to the United Mine Workers Of America, black lung is contracted by “prolonged breathing of coal mine dust.” It is an incurable, yet preventable disease. In 1969, the U.S. Congress implemented coal industry reforms to help eradicate the disease, which has since fallen from inflicting 7.7 percent of coal miners between 1968-1980 to 2.6 during the first decade of this century. China now finds itself at an earlier junction in this story, as coal production has surged but health and safety reforms and oversight are lagging. A 2013 study by Shantou University Medical College in southern China found that about six percent of Chinese coal workers had black lung between 2001 and 2011. Lung cancer caused by PG&E burning coal.

08:28
Burning by PG&E coal is the major cause of lung cancer. Can we power the whole state of California, 100% on solar & renewables? Germany claims they will be at 50% national power by 2022, from Solar, when they are going to shut down all their nukes. If Germany can do it, can California? We are now in the solar age. This is the dawning of the age of Aquarius. The economy of scale says we can power the whole world if we install enough solar panels, in an area the size of France. That area can be found on the roofs of 50% of the private homes of each nation. China now claims they will achieve 100% solar power by 2050. Can California do better? How does the Germany economy keep growing while the US is lost? In 1990 Germany passed a new Feed in Tariff law, which inspired home owners to get involved in installing solar panels on their roofs. The law guaranteed a premium payment for harvesting solar & feeding it onto the grid. This created a new type of world market based on solar energy. This created a 100 new types of jobs and products. Suddenly German glass makers were selling twice as much glass because solar makers were making these new solar cells. And they were making more than had ever been made before in history. Surprisingly, German steel maker were suddenly selling twice as much new steel to wind mill makers, as they had been selling to auto manufactures. It was shocking to Germans. This one new product, the solar cell was suddenly driving their whole economy in a positive direction. One element pushed another, creating a whole new enthusiasm for solar, steel wind mills and renewable energy. Once it dawned on 15% of the Germans that they really could power the whole state of Germany with solar, this excitement for a whole new type of science and economic created a massive growth of JOBS. Workers also realized that by installing solar panels on their roofs, and so DECENTRALIZE utilities, they could now take over the utility sector of the economy. They could democratically eliminate the centralized greedy utilities. Using the new Feed In Tariff law, Germany has created 400,000 new jobs in the last 4 years. If you are reading this, and do not realize that we can really power all of Germany, all of Japan, all of China, and all of California with just solar power, you may not realize this quantum level shift that is happening. This shift is what is making the German economy the strongest in the world. Much stronger than the US economy. Could the US copy this shift to solar? Yes. China is doing the same thing. Japan is doing the same thing. France is ignoring the great leap forward towards solar that Germany has made. France is about to have a nuclear meltdown, in 2013, that will destroy their economy, just like the meltdown in Japan nearly destroyed their land, their spirit, their water, their tourist industry and their economy. It doesn't have to be that way. If you realize what I am talking about, don't tell anyone, just go to Costco and buy 4 solar panels and put them on your roof. Get some skin in the game. German workers have created the biggest economic structural change in the whole world, since the start of the original industrial age. China realizes this. China is copying Germany and moving rapidly into the solar age. Way ahead of the US. Don't tell the President we are being left in the dust. How does this new FIT law ethically inspire people? If people feel their efforts can never change this power structure we have in America, they lose hope. Look at all the truly hopeless people voting for Obama, again, even tho they know he will just stab them in the back once again. Sad. However, those of us who now know we can close down all the nukes, no matter who is President, just by installing solar panels on all our homes, we become excited. We see positive change is possible. Not from voting, but from solar. We have real hope, based on real life experience done in Germany for the past 20 years. We know our work installing solar can shut down all the nukes in the world. We know we can stop the keystone pipeline with solar panels. We know we can stop the oil war, save the climate, and save the future for our children. Even if some of our children don't know this, we older thinkers know this. The FIT creates exactly the kind of mobilization of the working class the world needs to create real change. The FIT inspires homeowners to install solar panels so they can harvest solar power and so take over the role of becoming the new form of a mass based utilities, totally replacing PG&E and all the big centralized utilities. Here comes the sun. When I say "Solar", I mean all renewables, because all forms of energy come from the sun.

[English] MAKNA Getting to know Lung Cancer

08:56
Lung cancer is an uncontrolled growth of abnormal cells in the lungs, producing a growth called a tumour. Cancerous tumours, called malignant tumours, can spread to invade and damage nearby tissues and organs. Eventually, it may spread through the lymph channels or bloodstream to form new tumors in other parts of the body. Presently, lung cancer is the second cause of cancer deaths in Malaysia. In fact, 95% of lung cancer patients die within 5 years of diagnosis. 90% of lung cancer is a result of cigarette smoking. The occurrence of lung cancer is also high among non-smokers who are exposed to second-hand smoke. Tobacco smoke contains some 4,000 different chemicals, of which many are extremely damaging to cells. Over time, these cells can turn cancerous. The more a person smokes, the higher the risk of getting cancer - not just lung cancer, but mouth, throat, esophagus, larynx, bladder, kidney, cervical or pancreatic cancer. There is also increasing evidence that second-hand smoke contributes to lung cancer in non-smokers. Workers who are exposed to high levels of radon, a radioactive gas, also have an increased risk of developing lung cancer. Other occupational exposures that have been associated with lung cancer include processing of steel, nickel, chrome, coal gas and asbestos. Lung cancer usually does not have any symptoms when it first develops. Doctors sometimes only discover lung cancer after an individual has a chest X-ray for another medical reason. The most common symptoms are: - Persistent cough - Shortness of breath - Bloodstained phlegm - Loss of weight and appetite - Chest pain - Hoarseness of voice - Repeated bouts of pneumonia or bronchitis =================================== MAKNA (Majlis Kanser Nasional) or National Cancer Council is a not-for-profit mainly tasked to pool and utilise every effort, expertise and welfare from every faction of society to fight cancer and to reduce the pain, suffering and morbidity that cancer patients often experience. It aims to provide curative care and preventive care, cancer research and support services to cancer patients and their families, high-risk groups and the general public in Malaysia and the region. Together with ordinary Malaysians from all walks of life, MAKNA hopes to inspire extraordinary change and give people affected by cancer renewed hope in life. MAKNA is registered under the Registrar of Societies Malaysia on 10 November 1994 and was officially launched on 30 March 1995. It was founded by Dato' Mohd Farid Ariffin in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Operation of lung cancer

09:57
The deadliest form of cancer in the U.S., involving cells that originate in the bronchi or lung. The term includes four cell types: squamous cell (epidermoid) carcinoma, adenocarcinoma, large cell (anaplastic) cancer, and small cell (oat cell) cancer. INCIDENCE In 2013, the National Cancer Institute (NCI) estimated that more than 228,000 people would be diagnosed with lung cancer and that about 159,500 would die of the disease. It is the second most common cancer in both men and women. CAUSES The vast majority are caused by carcinogens in tobacco smoke, including secondhand smoke. Other risks include exposure to carcinogenic industrial and air pollutants (asbestos, uranium, arsenic, nickel, chromium, iron oxides, coal dust, and radioactive dusts), concentrations of radon gas, and familial susceptibility. SYMPTOMS AND SIGNS Symptoms may include persistent cough, chest pain, dyspnea, weight loss, or hemoptysis. Changes in normal respiratory patterns or hoarseness, as well as pneumonia, bronchitis, epigastric pain, symptoms of brain metastasis, arm or shoulder pain, or swelling of the upper body are other possible signs. DIAGNOSIS Diagnostic tests include a chest x-ray, computed tomography (CT) scan, cytological sputum analysis, and bronchoscopy. Other tests include needle biopsy, magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), thoracentesis, thoracotomy, mediastinoscopy, or pulmonary function tests. TREATMENT Treatment includes lung surgery, radiation therapy, and chemotherapy (including epidermal growth factor receptor blockers) often provided serially or in combination. PROGNOSIS People with localized lung cancer have an approx. 5-year survival of 50%. People with widely metastatic lung cancer have a 5-year survival of less than 5%. PATIENT CARE Staging determines the extent of the disease and aids in planning treatment and predicting the prognosis. Lung cancer is relatively difficult to cure but much easier to prevent. Children and adolescents should be discouraged from smoking tobacco products, and current smokers should be assisted in their efforts to quit, e.g., through referrals to local branches of the American Cancer Society (ACS), smoking-cessation programs, individual counseling, or group therapy. SCREENING AND PUBLIC HEALTH Chest x-rays do not show small, early cancers, but computed tomography (CT) scanning can be used to screen people who have a long history of smoking and evidence of emphysema. In this high-risk group, screening detects the disease in its early stages when it is most likely to be curable. Smokers over the age of 55 who undergo annual lung cancer screening with low-dose CT scans have improved survival relative to those who do not. However, the public health costs of mass screening are high compared with the cost of encouraging smokers to quit or teaching teenagers not to start smoking. How Smoking 30 PACKS of Cigarettes Wrecks Your Lungs ● You Must See This !

Visually shows what is going in your body * The average smoker smokes one pack a day. 30 packs a month (Google) * The smoke was not held in the glass chamber which many commenters have suggested. Exhale hose clearly shown at 0:15 * It doesn't matter if the machine smoked all the cigarettes in a day, week, month or year, it's the same amount of smoke out of 600 cigarettes, the results would be the same. * if all the smoke had been blown back through the cotton, the results would have been even worse! * The smoke was drawn through and around the cotton, catching some, not all, of the chemicals and tar (evident by the accumulation in the hoses) and into the pump and exhaled. * The machine was set to smoke each cigarette at the same pace each time. * 30 packs x 20 per pack = 600 cigarettes were smoked * Each cigarette was smoked 3/4 of the way to reflect real world smoking allowing a quarter of it to just burn away while talking or thinking. * It took 3 days for the machine to smoke all of the cigarettes. * The chamber was cleared of smoke between each and every cigarette allowing air to enter. * Scenes were sped up and time lapsed to be able to see the visual change in colour occur. * The black stuff is called tar. Heavy accumulation of tar in the hoses showed up after only 10 packs. Tar from the next 20 packs overflowed and got sucked into the pump. It eventually ruined the pump. * With actual smoking, you also blow the smoke out past all of the same organs twice. * Lungs do self clean to take care of dust and debris from normal breathing in the environment. They weren't meant to be overwhelmed on an hourly basis by smoke from a burning object for life. * The smell of the tar and cotton balls at the end was vile. I felt quite ill afterwards. Can't imagine how a smoker feels on a daily basis. * To all parents and adults. Do your part to give kids a healthy life and prevent youngsters from taking up these bad habits. Never let kids see you smoke, vape or have a joint. Remember, out of sight, out of mind MUSIC BY Joakim Karud, Luvly http://youtube.com/joakimkarud

Pollution in China: Villagers are dying from cancer, over 60% have liver or lung cancer

01:20
In Hunan, located in central China, a village known to locals as “The Widows’ Village” is dying from cancer. Over 60% of the village residents suffer from one form of cancer or another. There are just over 200 families living in the village, but 10% of working age males have died from cancer in the last 10 years. This is because on one side of the village is a metal smelting factory, on the other side of the village is a chemical factory, and on yet another side is a coal processing factory. The village is usually blanketed in a low hanging dark cloud of pollution, on particularly bad days, residents must seal their doors and windows to keep out the dust and pollution. The villagers have petitioned the government to move the factories, but their pleas and requests have been ignored. Over 60% of the residents suffer from cancer, the most common cancers being liver or lung cancer. The youngest resident to die from cancer was just 32 years old. Many couples also suffer from cancer, their own fates and their children’s fates are unknown and held in the balance because of the disease. One resident demanded: “Do all the men need to die before the government will pay attention to us?” Then again, the government could just be trying to wait them out. If everyone dies there will be no one petitioning the factories to move. ------------------------------------------------------------- Welcome to TomoNews, where we animate the most entertaining news on the internets. What we need in Port Augusta to replace dirty coal

04:54
CSP+ (Concentrated Solar Thermal Power plus Molten Salt Storage) is a technology Australia must start building right now and the best place to start is Port Augusta, a very hot, dry town, which is shutting down two dirty coal-fired power plants. Joy Baluch, Port Augusta's mayor, died in May this year, 16 years after her non-smoking husband, who died of lung cancer, which she attributed to the pollution of the dirty coal-fired power stations. Ms Baluch campaigned hard for the coal-fired power stations to be replaced by CSP+: "The piercing hot sun will go from obstacle to energy." If you're Australian, please sign the Repower Port Augusta campaign at www.communityrun.org/p/rpa. The 110MW Crescent Dunes CSP+ plant being constructed by SolarReserve and shown in this video will cost about $1 billion while the 20MW Gemasolar plant built in 2011 in Spain (see www.tiny.cc/0jahy) cost $416 million - Crescent Dunes is more than 5 times the size of Gemasolar while only slightly over double the cost. But the technology, however, is still in its infancy so cost will reduce significantly as more of it goes into the ground. Currently, there over 200 CSP projects (mostly not with storage) either in planning, development, construction or built in the world. To see them go to www.csptoday.com and click the Global Tracker button. Taichung air pollution prompts Johnny Chiang to call for “coal-free nation” schedule

02:05
World Lung Cancer Day is coming up tomorrow, and legislators from across the political spectrum are turning their attention to the air pollution crisis in Taichung. KMT Legislator Johnny Chiang has called for "a schedule for a coal-free nation," while the DPP''s Liu Chien-kuo has highlighted Taiwan''s worsening ranking in the Global Climate Risk Index published by independent lobbyist Germanwatch. KMT Legislator Johnny Chiang called a press conference with four lung cancer patients, on the eve of World Lung Cancer Day, to accuse Taichung’s air pollution crisis of causing an increase in lung cancer cases. Chiang proposed a change to the Greenhouse Gas Reduction and Management Act.Johnny ChiangKMT LegislatorWe have a schedule for a nuclear-free nation. We should also have a schedule for a coal-free nation. Today the maximum compensation people living near power plants can receive is NT$1,000. What can you actually do with NT$1,000? Are our lungs really only worth NT$1,000?Lin Chia-lungTaichung MayorThere are some elected representatives who have kind of jumped on the bandwagon, as we say. But we haven’t seen the KMT prioritize this problem in the past.Taichung’s Mayor Lin Chia-lung responded to Chiang on a political talk show, saying while in office he has been actively tackling air pollution. He said his government rejected the application of Taichung Power Plant to renew the license for nine of its coal-fired generators, because it failed to mention plans to reduce the use of coal or the emission of atmospheric pollutants. Others in the DPP, including Yunlin legislator Liu Chien-kuo, are also calling on the government to quickly reduce carbon emissions and coal usage.Liu Chien-kuoDPP LegislatorIn the Global Climate Risk Index, last year Taiwan was 51st. We’ve shot up to seventh this year.In recent weeks, Taiwan has entered the smoggy season, with the arrival of the northeast monsoon. It seems to also be prime pollution sound bite season, as politicians try to work out what to do about fossil-fuel emissions.

In addition to exposure to toxic compounds in the environment, we're often unknowingly exposed to toxics that we consume. This program will explore exposure to toxics, how they impact our risk of cancer, and the research that our Institute has under way to address them. SPEAKER George D. Black lungs matter

00:44
Black Lung, or more formally known as coal workers’ pneumoconiosis is an irreversible occupational health hazard caused due to inhaling of coal ash and deposition of coal dust in lungs leading to inflammation and scarring of the lung tissue. Thus, we chose Black Lung as our topic of the interactive museum exhibit, which in later stages can result in lung cancer.

Black Lung Disease Coal Dust Occupational Disease 1980 MSHA

02:04
In the last decade, over 10,000 miners have died of coal workers' pneumoconiosis, or what is commonly called black lung disease.1 Black lung disease, which is caused by inhaling coal mine dust, results in scarring of the lungs and emphysema, shortness of breath, disability, and premature death. While the prevalence of black lung disease had decreased by about 90% from 1969 to 1995 following the enactment of the Coal Mine Health and Safety Act, the downward trend of this disease in coal miners has stopped. Since 1995, the prevalence of black lung cases has more than doubled. Many current underground miners (some as young as in their 30s) are developing severe and advanced cases. Identification of advanced cases among miners under age 50 is of particular concern, as they were exposed to coal-mine dust in the years after implementation of the disease prevention measures mandated by the 1969 federal legislation. An increased risk of pneumoconiosis has also been associated with work in certain mining jobs, in smaller mines, in several geographic areas, and among contract miners. For more information, go to the NIOSH Science Blog at http://www.cdc.gov/niosh/blog/nsb081808_blacklung.html . This is clipped from the 1980 Mine Safety and Health Administration (MSHA) film, Coal Dust: Hazards and Controls.

What is ROLLING COAL? What does ROLLING COAL mean? ROLLING CALL meaning, definition & explanation

03:19
What is ROLLING COAL? What does ROLLING COAL mean? ROLLING CALL meaning - ROLLING COAL definition - ROLLING COAL explanation. Source: Wikipedia.org article, adapted under https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/3.0/ license. SUBSCRIBE to our Google Earth flights channel - https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC6UuCPh7GrXznZi0Hz2YQnQ Rolling coal is the practice of modifying a diesel engine to increase the amount of fuel entering the engine in order to emit an under-aspirated sooty exhaust that visibly pollutes the air. It also may include the intentional removal of the particulate filter. Practitioners often additionally modify their vehicles by installing smoke switches and smoke stacks. Modifications to a vehicle to enable rolling coal may cost from $200 to $5,000. Rolling coal is a form of conspicuous air pollution, for entertainment or for protest. Some drivers intentionally trigger coal rolling in the presence of hybrid vehicles (when it is nicknamed "Prius repellent") to taunt their drivers, who are perceived as being environmentally motivated in their vehicle choice. Coal rolling may also be triggered at foreign cars, bicyclists, protesters, and pedestrians. Practitioners cite "American freedom" and "a stand against rampant environmentalism" as reasons for coal rolling. Health risks associated with rolling coal include respiratory issues. The American Cancer Society has linked exposure to diesel exhaust to lung cancer. A more actionable concern is road traffic safety violations, as the black smoke can intentionally impair visibility, risking motor vehicle crashes. In July 2014, the United States Environmental Protection Agency stated that the practice was illegal, as it violated the Clean Air Act which prohibits the manufacturing, sale, and installation "of a part for a motor vehicle that bypasses, defeats, or renders inoperative any emission control device prohibits anyone from tampering with an emission control device on a motor vehicle by removing it or making it inoperable prior to or after the sale or delivery to the buyer." In March 2015, Illinois General Assembly representative Will Guzzardi published a bill proposing to impose a $5,000 fine on anyone who removes or alters their vehicle's EPA emissions equipment. Guzzardi has made it clear that "The fine would come on top of any penalties enforced by the current law that prohibits emissions tampering." In May 2015, New Jersey Governor Chris Christie signed a bill into law prohibiting the retrofitting of diesel-powered vehicles to increase particulate emissions for the purpose of coal rolling. Those found in violation are subject to a fine by the state's Department of Environmental Protection. The bill was introduced by state Assemblyman Tim Eustace after a pickup truck blasted smoke at Eustace's Nissan Leaf while driving on the New Jersey Turnpike. In Colorado and Maryland, proposed bans failed in 2016 but were passed in 2017.

ERKAN YILDIRIM, md, fetcs (goguscerrahisi.com.tr) (LUNG CANCER)

04:15
(http://www.goguscerrahisi.com.tr/linkler/akciger_kanseri.html) Lung cancer is cancer that starts in the lungs. The lungs are located in the chest. When you breathe, air goes through your nose, down your windpipe (trachea), and into the lungs, where it spreads through tubes called bronchi. Most lung cancer begins in the cells that line these tubes. There are two main types of lung cancer: • Non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) is the most common type of lung cancer. • Small cell lung cancer makes up about 20% of all lung cancer cases. If the lung cancer is made up of both types, it is called mixed small cell/large cell cancer. If the cancer started somewhere else in the body and spread to the lungs, it is called metastatic cancer to the lung. Causes, incidence, and risk factors Lung cancer is the deadliest type of cancer for both men and women. Each year, more people die of lung cancer than of breast, colon, and prostate cancers combined. Lung cancer is more common in older adults. It is rare in people under age 45. Cigarette smoking is the leading cause of lung cancer. The more cigarettes you smoke per day and the earlier you started smoking, the greater your risk for lung cancer. There is no evidence that smoking low-tar cigarettes lowers the risk. However, lung cancer has occurred in people who have never smoked. Secondhand smoke (breathing the smoke of others) increases your risk for lung cancer. According to the American Cancer Society, an estimated 3,000 nonsmoking adults will die each year from lung cancer related to breathing secondhand smoke. The following may also increase your risk for lung cancer: • Asbestos • Exposure to cancer-causing chemicals such as uranium, beryllium, vinyl chloride, nickel chromates, coal products, mustard gas, chloromethyl ethers, gasoline, and diesel exhaust • Family history of lung cancer • High levels of air pollution • High levels of arsenic in drinking water • Radiation therapy to the lungs • Radon gas Symptoms Early lung cancer may not cause any symptoms. Symptoms depend on the type of cancer you have, but may include: • Chest pain • Cough that doesn't go away • Coughing up blood • Fatigue • Losing weight without trying • Loss of appetite • Shortness of breath • Wheezing Other symptoms that may also occur with lung cancer, often in the late stages: • Bone pain or tenderness • Eyelid drooping • Facial paralysis • Hoarseness or changing voice • Joint pain • Nail problems • Shoulder pain • Swallowing difficulty • Swelling of the face or arms • Weakness These symptoms can also be due to other, less serious conditions, so it is important to talk to your health care provider.
Respiratory microbiomes and lung cancer from mining communities

06:00
Prof Luis Mur talks to ecancer at the Microbiome in Cancer and Beyond 2017 meeting about lung cancer and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) which is particularly relevant to the mining districts of Wales. This is vital since early detection rates are as low as 5 %. With assistance from the NHS, various samples are being collected to understand the biology of each microbiome, their relationship with lung cancer, and potential issues such as antibiotic resistance. Highly influential metabolites are identified and further studied with relation to the microbiome; these include short fatty acids, amides and sugars. Dr Mur also describes the variation in between the upper and lower respiratory tracts, and how their relationships with lung cancer and COPD. Dr Mur specialises in deriving drugs from natural sources, mainly due to some adverse effects and resistance arising from synthetic drugs. This future of this research looks very promising.

Message to ILWU Local 10 & the West Oakland Community: Oakland's Historic Vote on Coal

04:12
Brothers and Sisters: On June 27th, 2016 the Oakland City Council took a historical vote to ban coal from the Port of Oakland. This is a victory for Local 10 and the West Oakland community. Local 10’s position on the issue was the right position, as the evidence of the health impacts of coal was so overwhelming. The union and its' many allies defeated all of the arguments of the pro-coal contingent by challenging them on their false claim of mitigation, by exposing their falsities of covered coal cars and debunking their claim of jobs for the community. The truth of the jobs that were being promised to community members were jobs that they either weren’t eligible for, or jobs whose numbers were overly inflated. If in doubt regarding the impacts of coal, please see what coal contains below. Mercury: Nervous system damage; developmental defects, reduced IQ and mental retardation. Chromium: Stomach & intestinal ulcers, anemia, stomach cancer, lung cancer, asthma. Selenium: Neurological effects, impaired vision, paralysis, death. Lead: Brain swelling, kidney disease, cardiovascular problems, nervous system damage and death; Especially harmful to children. Arsenic: Nervous system damage, cardiovascular issues, urinary tract cancer, lung cancer, skin cancer. Boron: Damage to the testes, intestines, liver, kidneys and brain; death. Molybdenum: Infertility Your health and safety is more valuable than all of the commodities in the Port Oakland put together. Give yourselves a hand for standing strong for what is good for our workforce and our community. In Solidarity, Derrick H. Muhammad ILWU Local 10, Secretary-Treasurer

5 Amazing Herbs That Can Lower Your Risk Of Cancer

01:27
Title: 5 Amazing Herbs That Can Lower Your Risk Of Cancer Many herbs are rich in bioactive compounds with antioxidant properties. They have the potential to inhibit the growth of cancer cells or induce cancer cell death. Herbs with anticancer properties include thyme, rosemary, sage, parsley, and curry leaves. Holy basil, brahmi, ashwagandha, sanjeevani, and guduchi also fall in this category. Consult your doctor before using herbal remedies as they may interfere with certain cancer therapies. Here are the 5 amazing herbs to lower the risk of cancer. 1)Thyme: This aromatic member of the mint family doubles up as a natural cancer fighter. As one study found, thyme essential oil was toxic to lung carcinoma, prostate carcinoma, and breast cancer cells. Carvacrol, a prominent compound in thyme, may be responsible for this anticancer activity. 2)Rosemary: Rosemary, widely used in Spanish, French, and Italian cooking, has a reputation as a memory booster. Research indicates that it can help fight cancer as well. This herb contains beneficial compounds such as carnosic acid and rosmarinic acid which inhibit cancer cells such as those of small cell lung carcinoma, prostate carcinoma, liver carcinoma, chronic myeloid leukemia, breast adenocarcinoma, and prostate adenocarcinoma. 3)Sage: Sage is known for its minty flavor and pungent aroma but turns out it can pack in a punch against cancer. This herb has been found to induce cell death and reduce growth in melanoma cells, colon carcinoma cells, and hepatoma cells. Sage basically has many bioactive compounds with beneficial effects. Ursolic acid, a compound present in it, has been found to be particularly effective at fighting cancer. 4)Parsley: Parsley is another commonly used herb with anti-cancer properties. Myristicin present in it has been found to inhibit cancer induced by benzo [a] pyrene, a compound commonly found in foods such as grilled meats, tobacco smoke, and coal tar. Animal studies show that myristicin could inhibit lung tumor formation by 65% and forestomach tumor formation by 31%. 5)Ashwagandha: Ashwagandha is an antioxidant herb with cancer-fighting potential. Active components like withaferin, withanolide, withanoside, and withanone present in this herb have been found effective against different kinds of cancer. Withaferin A, in particular, can inhibit breast cancer and B-cell lymphoma. Toxic skies - air pollutants are classed as one of the leading causes of cancer

A report published by The International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC) announced, for the... euronews, the most watched news channel in Europe Subscribe for your daily dose of international news, curated and explained:http://eurone.ws/10ZCK4a Euronews is available in 13 other languages: http://eurone.ws/17moBCU http://www.euronews.com/2013/10/24/toxic-skies-air-pollutants-are-classed-as-one-of-the-leading-causes-of-cancer A report published by The International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC) announced, for the first time, that air pollution causes lung cancer. It puts air pollution in the same category as tobacco smoke, UV radiation and plutonium. Previously only specific components of air pollution, such as diesel exhausts, were implicated in cancers. Sources of air pollution include car exhausts, power stations and factories - as well as heating in people's homes. The World Health Organisation said the classification should act as a strong message to governments to take action. According to the Deputy Head of International Agency for Research of Cancer (IARC) Dana Loomis, the agency was tasked with evaluating the quality of today's air. The group reviewed thousands of studies on air's composition, and after examining decades worth of data, the IARC announced that both air pollution and "particulate matter" are now Group 1 carcinogens. He said: "There is a concentration of high pollution through Asia, but also in Africa, which may be surprising. In China and in India, much of what we see is due to coal burning - it's industry and all the industrial development that's taking place in those countries. `"Here in northern Africa of course it's mostly desert with few people, and the particulate pollution that we see there is from wind-blown desert dust - so it's quite different in character from the pollution that's coming from industry." The agency said the most recent data suggested 223,000 deaths from lung cancer around the world were caused by air pollution. Polycyclic Aromatic Hydrocarbons (PAHs) & Exposure Risks

03:41
Polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons, commonly referred to as PAHs, are a group of chemicals that are formed during the incomplete burning of coal, oil and gas, garbage, or other organic substances like tobacco or charbroiled meat. PAHs are often found as a mixture containing two or more of these compounds. Some PAHs are also manufactured. These pure PAHs usually exist as colorless, white or pale yellow-green solids. PAHs are found in coal tar, crude oil, creosote and roofing tar, and a few are also used in medicines or to make dyes, plastics and pesticides. These chemicals have been found in at least 600 of the 1,430 National Priorities List sites identified by the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA). People can be exposed to PAHs by: • Breathing air containing the chemicals in the workplace of coking, coal-tar, and asphalt production plants; smokehouses; and municipal trash incineration facilities. • Breathing air containing PAHs from cigarette smoke, wood smoke, vehicle exhausts, asphalt roads or agricultural burn smoke. • Coming in contact with air, water or soil near hazardous waste sites. • Eating grilled or charred meats; contaminated cereals, flour, bread, vegetables, fruits, meats; and processed or pickled foods. • Drinking contaminated water or milk. • Nursing infants of mothers living near hazardous waste sites may be exposed to PAHs through their mother's milk. The Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) has determined that some PAHs may reasonably be expected to be carcinogens. Some people who have breathed or touched mixtures of PAHs and other chemicals for long periods of time have developed cancer. Some PAHs have caused cancer in laboratory animals when they breathed air containing them (lung cancer), ingested them in food (stomach cancer), or had them applied to their skin (skin cancer). These are just a few things to know about PAHs, to learn more about this or other indoor air quality, environmental, health and safety issues, please visits the websites shown in the video.

GEOENGINEERING Finger Lakes NY Feb 12, 2014- Massive Chemical Warfare Attack

07:38
Geoengineering, often referred to as Chemtrails, for the primary purposes of causing severe bodily injury & premature death with malice by the globalist regime, our military & United Nations . the new world order - geoengineering is democide /eugenics being practiced on the American people & population of the planet. There is NO DOUBT this is being done, there are millions of pictures & films of the crimes taking place.& testing has been done on animals, whales, the air, soil, rain, snow, water sources, hair samples world wide to confirm the findings of all the heavy metals found in chemtrails. Geoengineering involves large aircraft constantly spraying tiny particles of aluminum barium, strontium amongst many other harmful toxins, into the air/atmosphere also rat poisoning has been found along with molds & virus's. All people and animals then inhale these toxins while breathing, without informed consent. The toxins also poison the soil and fresh water sources. All Shills & misinformants will not be tolerated & will be blocked & deleted from this page- anyone trying to 'debunk' that geoengineering is taking place is a blatant LIAR or just plain ignorant to the facts. It is well known and documented that long-term exposure to air pollution consisting of particulate matter significantly increases the risk of dying from lung cancer and heart disease. Over many years, the danger of breathing soot-filled air is comparable to the health risks associated with long-term exposure to second-hand smoke. In 2010 alone, 1,200,000 Chinese were killed by particulate air pollution. The principle dangers of inhaling particulate matter applies to smoke and second-hand smoke causing lung cancer; coal miner's lung (anthracosis), a lung disease due to inhalation of coal dust; and baker's lung, inhaling flour and other allergens causes severe asthma. These dangers can be avoided, while Geoengineering particulate fallout can not On a massive scale Geoengineering will likely result in massive democide of the population if not stopped completely. . During the 20th Century (1900s) alone, government power was used to murder approximately 262,000,000 people. It appears that history is repeating itself with improved technology. Secondary purposes of Geoengineering include controlling the climate/weather for warfare and profits, and destroying the natural world while furthering the transhumanist/synthetic biology agenda. The evidence indicates that Geoengineering is an essential element of the elite's End game move to depopulate the planet. The public must be educated and the stratospheric spraying stopped immediately. rapidly developing industry called geo-engineering, driven by scientists, corporations, and governments intent on changing global climate, controlling the weather, and altering the chemical composition of soil and water — all supposedly for the betterment of mankind. Although officials insist that these programs are only in the discussion phase, evidence is abundant that they have been underway since about 1990 — and the effect has been devastating to crops, wildlife, and human health. We are being sprayed with toxic substances without our consent and, to add insult to injury, they are lying to us about it. www.globalskywatch.com www.geoengineeringwatch.org actress Brittany Murphy tested positive for all of these chemicals in her hair analysis when her father did a 2nd autopsy on her. WHY Did the coroner LIE the first time about these chemicals being found in her body or was testing for these heavy metals not done ? . http://www.ibtimes.com/brittany-murphy-death-case-update-poisoning-evidence-could-reopen-investigation-experts-say-1476328 here are outstanding sources for information on GEOENGINEERING: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5yZhh2leRJA&list=HL1392261797 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jHm0XhtDyZA&list=HL1392261797 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ymF6YkVJ-RY&list=HL1392261797 Chemtrails: What In The World Are They Spraying? http://www.prisonplanet.com/chemtrails-what-in-the-world-are-they-spraying.html Chemtrails: http://educate-yourself.org/ct/ PLEASE CALL YOUR REPRESENTATIVES TODAY-TELL THEM TO STOP ALL GEOENGINEERING PROGRAMS NOW-YOU NEVER CONSENTED TO BEING POISONED http://www.senate.gov/general/contact_information/senators_cfm.cfm

Part of the National Population Health Grid-mapping Project. Note the two lines of high values--Appalachia down to the Smokies, and along the Rocky Mountains. The Florida peak is a curiosity in need of explanation. IP images and Independent Prevalence images defined: these measure a weighted prevalence of disease in a given region (in this case zip codes) or grid cell, by weighing prevalence using a kernel density calculation. With kernel density, diseases, cases and other metrics closely clustered together spatially within a denser population setting are assigned higher weights than expected according to the basic addition equations.
