The quality initiatives in school education sector, thus, necessitate focusing on school, its performance and improvement. In a major step towards comprehensive school evaluation as central to improving quality of school education in India, National Programme on School Standards and Evaluation has been initiated by National University of Educational Planning and Administration (NUEPA), under the aegis of Union Ministry of Human Resource Development. NPSSE visualizes ‘School Evaluation’ as the means and ‘School Improvement’ as the goal. It refers to evaluating the individual school and its performance in a holistic and continuous manner leading to school improvement in an incremental manner. The major objectives of NPSSE are to develop a technically sound conceptual framework, methodology, instrument, and process of school evaluation to suit the diversity of Indian schools; to develop a critical mass of human resource for adaptation and contextualization of the school evaluation framework and practices across states. The programme envisions reaching 1,6 million schools in the country through a compressive system of school evaluation. As part of this endeavour , the School Standards and Evaluation Framework(SSEF) has been developed as an instrument for evaluating school performance. This will enable the school to evaluate its performance against the well-defined criteria in a focused and strategic manner. The SSE framework comprises seven ‘Key Domains’ as the significant criteria for evaluating performance of schools. The Framework has been developed through a participatory and mutual consensus approach on 'How to evaluate diversified Indian schools for Incremental Improvement ’.The SSEF has the flexibility that makes it eminently suitable for adaptation, contextualization and translation in state- specific languages. It has been designed as a strategic instrument for both self and external evaluation. Both the evaluation processes are complementary to each other and ensure that the two approaches work in synergy for the improvement of the school as a whole. As part of the SSEF, a ‘School Evaluation Dashboard-e Samiksha’ has been developed to facilitate each school to provide consolidated evaluation report, including areas prioritized for improvement. The School Evaluation Dashboard is developed both in print and digitized format. The School Evaluation Dashboard, obtained from each school, will be consolidated at cluster, block, district, state and national -level for identifying school- specific needs and common areas of intervention to improve school performance. A web-portal and Mobile App on School Standards and Evaluation are in the process of development. In order to translate the objectives of NPSSE to institutionalize ‘School Evaluation for Improvement’, a strong operational plan has been formulated to extend support to each state. .A dedicated Unit at NUEPA is leading this programme under the guidance of National Technical Group (NTG) and in strong collaboration with the states. connect me on - https://youtu.be/M_nYOJiHheU For More Video Pls Subscribe : https://www.youtube.com/onlineeducationguruji Category Education License Standard YouTube License

While it is almost impossible to say a single nation’s schools are the best in the world, one country that consistently performs extremely well on the Program for International Student Assessment (PISA) exams for math, reading and science, may come as a surprise to many. Finland, a tiny nation of 5.5 million people, consistently makes the top 5 performers across those categories, making it the top educational performer in Europe and one of the strongest in the world. (Singapore, Japan, and South Korea are also strong performers, and China did not submit consolidated results for the most recent test.) Finland?! http://www.engvid.com The paragraph is the most important unit of a well-written essay. The paragraph has a specific structure and standards that make it effective and enjoyable to read. In this writing lesson we will look at how to construct good paragraphs and improve writing with better flow and clarity. After the lesson, take the quiz: http://www.engvid.com/writing-skills-paragraph/ TRANSCRIPT Hi, welcome again to www.engvid.com. I'm Adam. Today's lesson is about the paragraph. It's a writing lesson, and I want to show people what a paragraph is and how to construct one, what to do, what not to do so you can write very clear, very tight paragraphs. This is especially important for IELTS, TOEFL, SAT students but everybody has to follow the exact same rules. Now before I even begin, I must say that I'm talking mostly about academic writing or even business writing. Creative writing like novels or short stories, anything fiction, you can do anything you want. Only always remember: somebody has to read what you wrote so it has to be clear. But academic essays, for example, certain rules you have to follow; you have to be very careful about them. So let's begin. In terms of like the actual way a paragraph looks: you have to indent or skip a line. So let me just make sure you understand what an indent is. This is an indent, the first line a little bit pushed in or you can make sure you skip a line between paragraphs. But don't do both. If you skip a line, don't indent. Okay? That's the main thing. Now, that's in terms of the way it looks. In terms of content -- and this, I can't stress this enough -- very, very, very important: one central idea in one paragraph. Okay? I've seen many people, I've seen many essays where you start a paragraph talking about one thing, and then you go off on a tangent and talk about something completely unrelated. So for example: if you start a paragraph and you're talking about apples, continue to talk about apples. If you go to oranges, that's maybe okay because you're still talking about fruit. But if you start with apples, go to oranges, go to bananas, and then end up with monkeys in space there's a bit of a problem; the reader has no idea what you're talking about. One paragraph, one central idea. Now, make sure that you tell the reader what this central idea is. This is your thesis statement. Okay? It's a very general sentence. All it does is introduce the topic of the paragraph, nothing else. All the details comes after. So speaking of details, we'll talk about details in detail, but all other ideas, all the other sentences, all your sentences with the details must directly relate back to the main idea. So let's say here is your thesis statement; very general, every sentence after must relate back to that thesis statement. Okay? You can't go off to another idea. Everything must support this, must talk about the same topic. Very important. Okay? How long should your paragraph be? Technically, a paragraph could be one sentence, but in an academic essay that rarely happens. But it could be any length you want, as long as you're still on that one topic, as long as you still have things to write and things to say about that topic, say it. If you have four sentences, fine; if you have 10 sentences, also okay. Again, for IELTS, TOEFL, SAT students: four, five sentences should be your limit. You can't be too long because you don't have time and you're going to start making mistakes. So now, the details. Very important to have lots of details. Why is this topic important to your overall idea of your essay? Not only tell me what is the topic, what is the thesis statement of the paragraph, make sure you explain to me why this is important to the general idea of the essay. Give me your reasons. Now, why is it important? And then reasons, why you think what you're saying supports this idea. Examples, always use examples because giving me the reasons is okay; examples make me see exactly what you're trying to say. Very easy for me to understand what you're trying to say. Now, in terms of flow, in terms of the way the reader can approach the paragraph, you have to have bridges. What is, what do bridges mean? Basically, when you have one idea in this sentence, you must connect it to the next sentence, you must connect it to the next sentence. Every sentence must have a link to the next sentence. This creates flow, makes it much easier to read and understand, and it keeps you on the one topic. Now, key terms. If you're talking about something specific and you have to use a key term, use it as many times as you need to. Otherwise, avoid repetition. Try not to use the same word more than once in one paragraph. Okay? For example: if you're using the word "moreover" in the paragraph, don't use it, don't use "moreover" again -- use "in addition to", use "furthermore", "another", etc. Try to avoid using one word more than once, especially in the same paragraph.

10 Tips to Improve Your Reading Comprehension 1. "Never read a book without a pen in your hand." ~ Benjamin Franklin - That's great advice whether you write in your books or take notes in a notebook. Personally, I write, scribble, highlight, argue and draw symbols in all my books. 2. Read a whole paragraph / section BEFORE you stop to highlight or take a note. Don't stop right when you see something interesting; keep reading to get the "big picture" or context of what stood out to you. Then "reread" when you make your notes. 3. Read important sections out loud. A person reads much slower when you read out loud than when you read silently, but studies show that if you read out loud, you tend to retain things better because you're engaging multiple senses (hearing and seeing). 4. Read silently with quick "check-marks." There are times when you should read silently and simply use a pencil to "check" sections in the margins you want to go back and reread later. This will help you get through a book quicker without being distracted by stopping to highlight or write. 5. Explain what you read. When you finish a chapter / section of a book, take a break and "think" about what you've read and, in your mind, "explain it" to someone. See if you can structure your thoughts so as to be able to repeat back to someone what you've read. This is a great exercise. I do this A LOT when I read - and actually "talk through it" out loud to myself walking around my office or in the car. 6. Learn to "X-ray" a book by reviewing the Table of Contents and only reading the sections / chapters that will be benefit you. And don't feel like you have to read an entire book. 7. Pay attention to summary words - "therefore" or "as a result" or "in conclusion." When you see a summary / conclusion word, make sure you understand the author's points and argument that has led to his conclusion. 8. Circle / Underline key words in a sentence. 9. Mark words you don't know - and look them up! If you have a Kindle this is much easier. Looking up words you don't know increases your understanding of the author's intent, but it also increases your vocabulary! 10. You should read How to Read a Book by Mortimer Adler and Charles Van Doren. This is a "must read" book! You can get a great price on it at Amazon or WTSBooks.com.

Digital media capture + development by steerdigitalmedia.com In January 2010, the Rhode Island Department of Education (RIDE) identified Central Falls High School (CFHS) as one of the state’s persistently lowest-achieving schools. Though the Central Falls School District had been in state-administered corrective action since 2002, student achievement at CFHS had remained among the lowest in the state. According to RIDE’s Protocol for Interventions: Persistently Lowest-Achieving Schools, local education agencies with one or more persistently low-achieving school are required to choose from one of the four “turnaround” models that are designed to radically alter conditions in the school and provide students with enhanced educational opportunities.1 After consideration of the options, the Central Falls School District (CFSD) and the Central Falls Teachers Union (CFTU) chose to adopt the Transformation Model to improve CFHS.2 Specifically, this model called for: Replacement of the school leader Rigorous, transparent, and equitable evaluation systems for teachers A commitment to consistent use of data to drive decision-making, revisions to reform strategies, and approaches to instruction Operational flexibility for administrators, allowing for extended learning time, unfettered use of school/district resources, and creative use of instructional time available within the school day with the ability to revise that use based on results, etc. Appointment of a turnaround officer or turnaround office to oversee the reform efforts of the Local Education Agency (LEA) During the summer of 2010, leadership in Central Falls developed an action plan which incorporated the elements described above, and began immediate implementation of the 1 Please see RIDE’s Protocol for Interventions: Persistently Lowest-Achieving Schools for complete definitions of the four models. sos.ri.gov/documents/archives/regdocs/released/pdf/DESE/6266.pdf 2 Further description regarding the selection of the Transformation model can be found in the First Year Transformation Report (September, 2011). 2 Transformation model. This study by Brown University details the Transformation process, highlighting the successes, challenges, areas for improvement, and future directions. The Central Falls High School Transformation Study For three years, the Education Alliance (EA) and the Annenberg Institute for School Reform (AISR) at Brown University have collaborated to evaluate the Transformation process at CFHS. The overarching focus of the study was the progress CFHS has made toward the three strategic goals named in the action plan: Increase the graduation rate and decrease the dropout rate. Improve student proficiency in mathematics and maintain improvement in English language arts (ELA) proficiency. Improve the culture and climate of the school. The final report details the third Transformation year at CFHS and also highlights three-year trends across data sources. An overview of the various participants and methods utilized in the evaluation will be provided in Section I of the report. Sections II – IV will describe the progress CFHS has made toward each of the three strategic goals during the Transformation. Finally, Sections V and VI summarize the findings and offer recommendations for continued improvement. The Year 3 Report provides a follow-up to the findings reported in the Year 1 Report (September 2011) and the Year 2 Report (August 2012). Together, these three reports provide a comprehensive overview of the collective lessons learned in the Transformation of Central Falls High School.

08 common Interview question and answers - Job Interview Skills 1. "Tell me a little about yourself." You should take this opportunity to show your communication skills by speaking clearly and concisely in an organized manner. Because there is no right or wrong answer for this question, it is important to appear friendly. 2. "What are your strengths?" This is a popular interview question. They want to know what you think of yourself. Although this is a general question, there is a wrong and right answer. The wrong answer is a generic answer saying you are organized and friendly. Although it will not hurt you during the interview, it will certainly not help you either. Answer this question based on the type of job you are applying for. 3. "What are your weaknesses?" For this answer, you should display a weakness that can be seen as a strength. There are many types of answers that will work. Some answers will be good answers for certain jobs, while the same answer will be a bad answer for a different job. Select an answer that will work for the position you are applying for. 4. "Where do you see yourself in five years?" This question primarily depends on where you are in your career. A person with 5 years of experience will have different goals than a person with no work experience. This question is asked to see how serious a candidate is about his or her career. Some people might not know their goals, and some people might have goals of becoming rich and retiring early. Those are incorrect answers for this question. The type of answer you want to give is an ambitious answer that shows you really love your career. A good interviewer will read between the lines and find out if a person is going to be a hard worker or just a mediocre one. Being descriptive and shooting for a big goal is something interviewers want to hear. 5. "What do you know about our company?" A typical job interview question, asked to find out how much company research you have conducted, is "What do you know about this company?" Prepare in advance, and in a word, research, so you can provide relevant and current information about your prospective employer to the interviewer. 6. "Are you good at dealing with change?" Dealing with change is common in the work place. A simple yes will not be sufficient to impress the interviewer. This is another type of question where everyone will have similar answers. Of course everyone is going to claim being excellent dealing with change. You got to communicate that you are really good at dealing with change. 7. "Do you work well under pressure?" In most cases, the best answer to this question is answering yes. Working well under pressure is a good trait to have. However, I think if you answer that you work the same with pressure and without pressure, the interviewer will be more impressed. However, you will need to explain in words why this is better. 8. "How do you make important decisions?" There are many ways to answer this question, and if you have a reasonable method of making decisions, it will probably be sufficient. One answer I thought of included not being afraid of asking your manager. You can follow up by saying even the best needs mentoring, and you always want to improve. So basically, this could work as an answer, but depending on the job, you might have a better shot with an answer like my example.

Join me at http://www.DrMariaChurch.com/drmariatv/ where the discussion continues. A Native American proverb illustrates the concept, “Tell me and I’ll forget. Show me, and I may not remember. Involve me, and I’ll understand.” Once we identify the needs of the people and address those needs, then learning occurs and the outcome is performance. As we teach, we must remember that we are not transmitting information—we are transforming lives. That may sound a bit dramatic, but that is exactly what good teaching does; it transforms. Transformation comes about through many different forms: motivation, persuasion, mobilization, influence, and of course miracles. Today I present my TEACH acronym in today’s video. Get 6 pack abs year round by following this diet plan http://athleanx.com/x/diet-plan-for-a-six-pack You’ve probably heard that 6 pack abs are obtained through a proper diet, that abs are made in the kitchen. You’d be right. That said, getting abs still remains rather elusive to many and certainly being able to maintain them year round is even harder. Not any more. In this video, I show you a 5 step plan for how to get a 6 pack that you can use to start getting your abs to show fast. Despite the fact that many are aware of the importance of proper nutrition when it comes to getting abs, it is still a mighty struggle to get them. It usually comes down to the methods those people are using to try and get them in the first place. Crash diet plans and temporary deprivation based tactics are not going to cut it long term if you want to get and keep your abs. Anything that forces you to feel as if you’re missing out or be deprived of what you really want is only going to be a temporary solution at best. As soon as you get tired of not having what you want, you’ll quickly give in and lose your ability to keep your hard earned abs. That said, the 5 step formula for getting a 6 pack starts with cutting out the obvious crap foods from your diet. You should know pretty quickly what these are. It’s the cakes, sweets, alcohol, fatty salad dressings, etc that just scream problems the minute you eat them. You know what they are and that means you know they should be gone, so do it. There’s never been a better time than now to start making the changes that are going to dramatically help you in your pursuit of your abs. Next step is to start eating more often. Yep, despite what keyboard scientists who read a few articles on google scholar want you to believe, there are far more important reasons to be eating more frequently throughout the day than whether or not this is maximally anabolic. I cover these for you in the video. Next up, you’re going to want to take another pass through that diet of yours. On this second time through, you’re going to want to remove the less obvious items that aren’t helping you as best they can to get your 6 pack abs. For me, I lay out three perfect examples. I thought these foods were healthy but I was only partially right. How they were being prepared was making all the difference in me seeing my abs consistently…or not. Moving on, you now want to eat more of the good foods you swapped in. This helps you to maintain and continue to build new muscle. Too often, people who take out the offending foods will free up many calories in their diet. If you don’t replace them with good foods you’ll likely wind up not supporting your muscle growth and be skinny without enough muscle mass. Finally, where the etching in of those abs can happen, supplementation. Use high quality supplements to fine tune your efforts and really take your results to the next level. If you’re looking for the latest in sports nutrition to assist your ab getting goals, be sure to head to http://athleanrx.com or head to http://athleanx.com if you want a meal my meal diet plan for getting abs. Developed by the National University of Educational Planning and Administration (NUEPA), it aims to enable schools to evaluate their performance in a more focused and strategic manner and facilitate them to make professional judgments for improvement. The programme’s objective is to establish and refer to an agreed set of standards and to provide clear pathways for each school for self evaluation, by focussing on key performance domains and their core standards for school evaluation. The structure of the Framework is simple yet flexible and lends itself to both self and external evaluation. A web portal for the framework has been launched by Hon’ble HRM on 7.11.2015 which will enable all schools to engage in self-evaluation in the 7 key domains under the Framework. The results of the evaluations will be available on a public platform along with the school report card. Present Status: A detailed Action Plan has been developed to institutionalise Shaala Siddhi by the respective States and UTs with the support of MHRD and NUEPA. As part of generating awareness for critical engagement of States to ensure effective implementation of the programme, sessions on Shaala Siddhi were made part of other training programmes of NUEPA All States/ UTs in consultation with NUEPA are visiting and accessing online Framework of National programme on School Standards and Evaluation and other documents. Anxiety is one of most prevalent mental health disorders, with 1 out of 14 people around the world being likely affected. Leading up to conditions such as depression, increased risk for suicide, disability and requirement of high health services, very few people who often need treatment actually receive it. In her talk “How to cope with anxiety”, Olivia Remes of the University of Cambridge will share her vision on anxiety and will unravel ways to treat and manage this health disorder. Arguing that treatments such as psychotherapy and medication exist and often result in poor outcome and high rates of relapses, she will emphasise the importance of harnessing strength in ourselves as we modify our problem-coping mechanisms. Olivia will stress that by allowing ourselves to believe that what happens in life is comprehensive, meaningful, and manageable, one can significantly improve their risk of developing anxiety disorders. Mayor Muriel Bowser announces the release of DC’s draft strategic plan to improve the workforce system. She also announces important changes to the Workforce Investment Council (WIC). “This morning, we released a blueprint for a coordinated, accessible, world-class workforce development system,” said Mayor Muriel Bowser. “In a city as prosperous as ours, everyone deserves a fair shot. And by improving our workforce development system, we are putting more District residents on their pathway to the middle class.” The Bowser Administration is committed to improving employment services and supports for DC residents. That includes overhauling the city’s workforce development system to better equip residents for the jobs of today and tomorrow. The DC Works Plan has a twofold purpose: 1) to comply with the federal Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA), and 2) to lay out a strategic vision and plan for the District. WIOA is a federal law that outlines how workforce programs are delivered nationwide. Each state must create its own plan, and DC is using the WIOA process to create an innovative, comprehensive plan to move the city forward. DC’s State Plan to comply with WIOA lays out specific strategies and operational components for overall workforce system improvements. There is special attention paid to high-growth industries and youth programs to support residents – today, and in the years to come. Mayor Bowser also celebrated the appointment of Odie Donald as executive director of the WIC, and the transfer of this agency to the Deputy Mayor for Greater Economic Opportunity Cluster. The WIC office has moved to the Mayor’s East of the River Office and will provide additional oversight to the city’s workforce system. To learn more about the WIC and the DC Works plan, visit: http://dcworks.dc.gov To read the fact sheet, visit: http://dcworks.dc.gov/sites/default/files/dc/sites/dcworks/publication/attachments/DCWorksFactSheet.pdf
