Finger Jam "Jammed Finger" is a term that refers to the many injuries of the ligaments and soft tissue around the small joints of the fingers. Jammed fingers are very common in ball handling sports or activities where there is a high degree of catching objects. Finger jams occur when a blunt force is applied to a joint of the finger. The force is generally directly into the tip of the finger and combined with hyperextension of the joint. Ligaments and other soft tissue surrounding the joint are stretched or torn resulting in significant pain. Swelling, bruising, and loss of motion typically accompanies the pain. Bonus movement with band, 2 x 15 I have created this rehab program because just like many other people, I think that it can be very unmotivating and frustrating to do the conventional knee rehabilitation movements. The problem is not the movements themselves, but if they are experienced as inefficient, frustrating and boring, you won't do them and you won't have any progress with your healing process either. These exercises are created in collaboration with several physiotherapists, sports physicians, and foot therapists. I am not a doctor, but I have suffered from knee pains and have four years personal experience in this area. My pains were especially on the medialis area, the inner side of the knee and also my knee(s) were somewhat turned inwards because of muscle imbalance. I had strong overpronation in my ankles, over-bending joints and muscle imbalance in my thighs and butt. (other side of butt and thigh were weaker because in many sports I have done, one support leg or side of the body is used more than the other. Although exercise is very healthy, many sports are more or less one-sided and unbalanced, cp. tennis, gymnastics, skating and many more.) What I have done is that I have molded the most effective rehab movements from my numerous consultations with health care and physical education professionals and put them into this efficient package. I have also used my experience from ballet, pilates and yoga to increase the efficiency of the movements. You can do this as a warm-up before your real workout, as the program is quite intense when done correctly. This way rehabilitation feels more efficient and has more meaning and you will be more motivated to do it. You will also quite quickly feel the strengthening of these support areas. This program holistically trains all the important muscles that support knees, namely ankles, thighs, shins and gluteus maximus, medius and minimus. It is also a good routine for injury prevention. I have gone through this program myself and it has helped me immensely and it has almost eliminated my knee pains. Do this program 4-5 times a week until 3 months, then 2-3 times a week until 6-12 months. I wish you good luck with your progress! :) My sincere intention with this video is to help people who have suffered from similar pains. I was lucky enough in my home country to consult several physiotherapists, sports physicians and foot therapists almost free of charge so I am giving this out for free for everybody as a small equalizing act.

Anatomically the infraspinatus is found on the back, attaching inferiorly along the spine of the shoulder blade, also known as the scapula, out to the humeral head where it turns into a tendon. Just below this tendon, the infraspinatus bursa is found. The infraspinatus is part of the rotator cuff muscle group of the shoulders. Other muscles that make up the rotator cuff: Supraspinatus Teres Minor Subscapularis More about the function of the Infraspinatus and who gets a strain of the Infraspinatus? The main function of the infraspinatus is external rotation and stabilization of the shoulder joint along with elevation and depression of the shoulder. The first muscle susceptible to a tear within the rotator cuff muscles is the supraspinatus and following is the infraspinatus. An infraspinatus tear is generally due to an overuse injury that has been putting stress on the shoulder joint and leading to instability and joint laxity. Baseball players and volleyball players are known to have this injury due to the constant overheard motion. Other repetitive stress motion injuries of the infraspinatus can be from driving with the arm held stretched out on top of the wheel or reaching back persistently with a computer mouse. Symptoms of an infraspinatus tear: Pain radiating into the neck and upper back areas and down into biceps Inability to raise the arm above head because of stiffness and feeling numb Weakness in the shoulder Discomfort with sleep when rolling onto side How can an Infraspinatus Strain present and how can it be treated? When observing the shoulder for motion, the patient may experience pain through the range of motion, also known as the arc of pain, which is a positive indicator of a tear. Muscle weakness will come secondary to shoulder pain and you may also observe abnormal motion of the scapula. If a tear is concluded, scar tissue will be built up along the tendon and around the infraspinatus bursa causing a catching or grinding motion of the shoulder. The degree of a rotator cuff tear is difficult to determine without imaging. Some patients may present will decreased range of motion and in a great amount of pain, and some patients may have no pain and have limited range of motion. The first source of imaging is X-ray, however it will not be able to show any soft tissue damage but it will help rule out other conditions. An x-ray will tell you if there is any joint degeneration, impingement from an osseous structure, or arthritis in the joint. Possible treatments for an infraspinatus tear: RICE (rest, ice, compress, elevate) Surgery based on the severity of the tear to reattach the muscle tendon Steroid injections Non-Steroidal Anti-Inflammatory medications Addressing the scar tissue formation in the shoulder joint Stretching Rehabilitative strengthening exercises Addressing the scar tissue and rehabilitation of the shoulder is very important, avoidance of this can lead to further conditions such as frozen shoulder. Warm up of the muscles is important before beginning any strengthening protocol and can be done with stretching such as the doorway stretch or threading the needle yoga pose. Exercises to strengthen the muscles associated with an infraspinatus tear: Resistance band- external rotation motion Face pulls Approximately 6-8 weeks of treatment will be needed, depending on the severity of the injury, to decrease the pain and strengthen the muscles.
