Plant Growth Experiment
This is an experiment to determine what effect human supplements of mega vitamins and minerals has on plants. See: http://auldaney.blogspot.com conducted an experiment many years ago and found that fertilizer made plants grown larger and more full. This experiment was done over about a month, it produced negative results with fertilizer, however I believe I used too much. It made the plant grow long vertically. When I used that same pot the spider plant turned black. However, I found that the one with only water, the Control did better. The one with the human supplements was dramatic. The plant grew wider, with larger leaves. This supports my theory that there was more elements in the soil before the Flood of Noah, when plants, humans, and animals grew larger, were healthier, and live 10 times as long. This fact is also supported by the fact that dinosaurs, which us creation scientists believe lived with man before the Flood, had almost no diseases according to secular paleopathology research. Wounds and broken bones were found, but only two minor cases of arthritis.

Vitamin Supplements, Gluten Free and Buckwheat Diets: The Good, The Bad and The Deadly
In this video, I tackle three pretty common questions. Most people take some sort of vitamin supplement. It's a common question asked when fasting or eating LCHF as well. So how much benefit are we really getting from them? Gluten-Free is a very popular and mainstream diet and way of life for many. But if you don't have a disorder that requires restricting gluten then are you benefiting from this diet? And the buckwheat diet is also pretty popular now and many people consider it a "Superfood". Is this grain truly of any benefit in losing weight and preventing T2D? Vitamin D - Improve Cognitive Performance and Mood (but Don't Take Too Much)
READ MORE HERE: https://goo.gl/oFZtmU Instagram: http://bit.ly/2n7nXqo Facebook: http://bit.ly/2mQbtl4 When someone tells you that getting sunlight is good for your health, they aren’t lying. The primary benefit of sunlight is vitamin D. Often referred to as “the sunlight vitamin”, it is currently one of the most underutilized nutritional supplements for cognitive and physical health. The majority of people in the western world live in regions where sunlight is inconsistent during many months of the year. Because of this, supplementation (whether via fish products or pure vitamin D supplements) is often advised. The benefits of vitamin D are plenty, but the brain is one of the biggest benefactors. Studies show increased cognitive abilities with adequate vitamin D, there is evidence vitamin D regulates serotonin and thus influences anxiety and depression. Benefits of Vitamin D The benefits of vitamin D range from enhancing cognitive performance to reducing neurological decline and even supporting healthier mood (reducing symptoms of anxiety and depression). One animal study showed that long-term treatment of vitamin D could help slow the rate of decline in the hippocampus (where memories are stored) showing promising neuroprotective effects. This may be one of the correlations between vitamin D and neurodegenerative diseases, such as Alzheimer’s disease and Parkinson’s. Some studies show that vitamin D supplementation could reduce symptoms of Alzheimer’s disease and there is an inverse relationship between serum vitamin D and risk of Alzheimer’s disease. The same inverse relationship exists with Parkinson’s disease. Unfortunately, when adults were tested (who had sufficient vitamin D levels), the addition of 5000 IU of vitamin D failed to influence any cognitive indicators]. Therefore, some could conclude that vitamin D is a liability when one is deficient, but is not necessarily much of a cognitive asset in high quantities. Of course, one of the main benefits of vitamin D is related to mood and particularly anxiety and depression. One study showed that depressed adults deficient in vitamin D were able to decrease symptoms by 42%. There seems to be ample evidence against this hypothesis as well, but recent research shows a potential mechanism for improved mood and reduced anxiety. In a 2014 dated study, Dr. Rhonda Patrick showed that vitamin D is required for regulating serotonin. While her study focused on how this might help reduce symptoms of autism, it is nevertheless interesting given the context of mood and reduced anxiety.

Cathcart Lecture on Titrating Vitamin C to Bowel Tolerance
A method of utilizing vitamin C in amounts just short of the doses which produce diarrhea is described (TITRATING TO BOWEL TOLERANCE). The amount of oral ascorbic acid tolerated by a patient without producing diarrhea increases somewhat proportionately to the stress or toxicity of his disease. Bowel tolerance doses of ascorbic acid ameliorate the acute symptoms of many diseases. Lesser doses often have little effect on acute symptoms but assist the body in handling the stress of disease and may reduce the morbidity of the disease. However, if doses of ascorbate are not provided to satisfy this potential draw on the nutrient, first local tissues involved in the disease, then the blood, and then the body in general become deplete of ascorbate (ANASCORBEMIA and ACUTE INDUCED SCURVY). The patient is thereby put at risk for complications of metabolic processes known to be dependent upon ascorbate. This video supports this paper http://vitamincfoundation.org/www.orthomed.com/titrate.htm

Does time work differently in different languages? - Hopi Time
Whorf ignited a controversy when he claimed the Hopi don't speak or think about time the way Europeans do. Malotki wrote 600 pages to prove him wrong. Come explore Sapir-Whorf and Hopi Time! Do speakers of different languages have different concepts of time? Subscribe for language: https://www.youtube.com/subscription_center?add_user=NativLang Be my patron: https://www.patreon.com/user?u=584038 ~ BRIEFLY ~ After years of studying Hopi, one linguist wrote a whole book focusing on just one thing about the language: it's full of ways of talking about time. Of all things, why time? Decades earlier, Whorf studied Hopi. Building on his mentor Sapir's ideas about language, thought and culture, he drew a provocative conclusion. Comparing Hopi to European languages, he told us that the Hopi have a vastly different notion of "time". To simplify, the Hopi think about time differently because they speak Hopi. Hopi became the poster child for linguistic relativity or "Sapir-Whorf", the idea that language shapes your thoughts or even determines how you think about time. Watch as the big fish claims about Hopi time grow. See why Malotki and other detractors dismiss them. Then explore the resurgence Whorfian ideas about language from curious cases of fieldwork on the ground and results from the lab. Finally, meet the curious case of Yucatec, a tenseless language. In the end, we'll see that languages do talk about time differently, but getting people to act as if they have fundamentally different concepts of time. ~ CREDITS ~ Art, narration, animation and some of the music by Josh from NativLang Sources for claims and credits for imgs, music and sfx: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1Jo0LZ6rcLpXfmd7yekZDCce_cGLA9T6PZa6rsXIDFmI/

Vitamin D not flu shots
Another influenza season is beginning, and the U.S. Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) will strongly urge Americans to get a flu shot. In fact, the CDC mounts a well-orchestrated campaign each season to generate interest and demand for flu shots. But a recent study published in the October issue of the Archives of Pediatric & Adolescent Medicine found that vaccinating young children against the flu appeared to have no impact on flu-related hospitalizations or doctor visits during two recent flu seasons. At first glance, the data did suggest that children between the ages of 6 months and 5 years derived some protection from vaccination in these years. But after adjusting for potentially relevant variables, the researchers concluded that "significant influenza vaccine effectiveness could not be demonstrated for any season, age, or setting" examined. Additionally, a Group Health study found that flu shots do not protect elderly people against developing pneumonia -- the primary cause of death resulting as a complication of the flu. Others have questioned whether there is any mortality benefit with influenza vaccination. Vaccination coverage among the elderly increased from 15 percent in 1980 to 65 percent now, but there has been no decrease in deaths from influenza or pneumonia. There is some evidence that flu shots cause Alzheimers disease, most likely as a result of combining mercury with aluminum and formaldehyde. Mercury in vaccines has also been implicated as a cause of autism. Three other serious adverse reactions to the flu vaccine are joint inflammation and arthritis, anaphylactic shock (and other life-threatening allergic reactions), and Guillain-Barré syndrome, a paralytic autoimmune disease. One credible hypothesis that explains the seasonal nature of flu is that influenza is a vitamin D deficiency disease. Vitamin D levels in your blood fall to their lowest point during flu seasons. Unable to be protected by the bodys own antibiotics (antimicrobial peptides) that are released by vitamin D, a person with a low vitamin D blood level is more vulnerable to contracting colds, influenza, and other respiratory infections. Studies show that children with rickets, a vitamin D-deficient skeletal disorder, suffer from frequent respiratory infections, and children exposed to sunlight are less likely to get a cold. The increased number of deaths that occur in winter, largely from pneumonia and cardiovascular diseases, are most likely due to vitamin D deficiency. Unfortunately, now, for the first time, flu vaccination is also being pushed for virtually all children -- not just those under 5. This is a huge change. Previously, flu vaccine was recommended only for youngsters under 5, who can become dangerously ill from influenza. This year, the government is recommending that children from age 6 months to 18 years be vaccinated, expanding inoculations to 30 million more school-age children. The government argues that while older children seldom get as sick as the younger ones, it's a bigger population that catches flu at higher rates, so the change should cut missed school, and parents' missed work when they catch the illness from their children. Of course, this policy ignores the fact that a systematic review of 51 studies involving 260,000 children age 6 to 23 months found no evidence that the flu vaccine is any more effective than a placebo. THE ONLY REAL WAY TO HEAL, Markus Rothkranz Truth about Health

This is the real Markus Rothkranz message. Listen closely, this is one of the most important lessons for healing anything. Behind the Curtain is a life saving message- the REAL truth about healing. No matter what health condition you may have, the only one that can really heal you is YOU, because you must ultimately make the decisions what goes into your body, mind and life. The Markus quote "There is no magic pill or magic herb" has been taken so out of context and misunderstood. It means you can't heal anything by simply "taking something" if you KEEP DOING WHAT CAUSED THE PROBLEM in the first place! The herbs etc are what help clean you up and get things back on track, but the first step is to stop doing what caused the problem! Otherwise its like trying to put out a fire with water while at the same time pouring gasoline on the fire. Sure water works fine at putting out fire, ...but only when the fire isn't being fed by highly combustible fuel. The same goes for the human body and lifestyle. This is the important message that must be understood in order to heal anything. Milk is bad for you. The countries with the highest rates of osteoporosis are the ones where people drink the most milk and have the most calcium in their diets. The connection between calcium consumption and bone health is actually very weak, and the connection between dairy consumption and bone health is almost nonexistent.” http://saveourbones.com/osteoporosis-milk-myth/ High cow’s milk intake is associated with increased risk for bone fractures as well as death, according to a recent study in the British Medical Journal. Among women, those who consumed three or more glasses of milk per day had a 60 percent increased risk for developing a hip fracture and a 16 percent increased risk for developing any bone fracture. http://ajcn.nutrition.org/content/89/5/1638S.full Studies also indicate that when it comes to preventing osteoporosis, milk may actually increase women’s risk of getting the disease. Instead of promoting bone health, animal protein in dairy products can have a calcium-leaching effect. Prof. T. Colin Campbell, professor of nutritional biochemistry at Cornell University, puts it this way: “The association between the intake of animal protein and fracture rates appears to be as strong as that between cigarette smoking and lung cancer.” http://www.medscape.com/viewarticle/834247_5 A higher consumption of milk in women and men is not accompanied by a lower risk of fracture and instead may be associated with a higher rate of death. Consequently, there may be a link between the lactose and galactose content of milk and risk as suggested in our hypothesis, although causality needs be tested using experimental study designs. Our results may question the validity of recommendations to consume high amounts of milk to prevent fragility fractures.[3,71,72] http://ajcn.nutrition.org/content/89/5/1638S.full Vegetarians will most likely have healthier outcomes for a host of chronic diseases by limiting or avoiding milk and other dairy products. All nutrients found in milk are readily available in healthier foods from plant sources. Bones are better served by attending to calcium balance and focusing efforts on increasing fruit and vegetable intakes, limiting animal protein, exercising regularly, getting adequate sunshine or supplemental vitamin D, and getting ≈500 mg Ca/d from plant sources Stop eating processed foods: https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/27733404 http://www.health.harvard.edu/family-health-guide/what-you-eat-can-fuel-or-cool-inflammation-a-key-driver-of-heart-disease-diabetes-and-other-chronic-conditions The more fruits and vegetables you eat, the lower the burden of inflammation. http://www.health.harvard.edu/healthbeat/avoid-these-foods-for-a-healthier-heart

Why do we sleep? | Russell Foster
Russell Foster is a circadian neuroscientist: He studies the sleep cycles of the brain. And he asks: What do we know about sleep? Not a lot, it turns out, for something we do with one-third of our lives. In this talk, Foster shares three popular theories about why we sleep, busts some myths about how much sleep we need at different ages -- and hints at some bold new uses of sleep as a predictor of mental health. Vitamin D as a Modifier of Genomic Function and Phenotypic expression During Pregnancy
Presented at: Clinical Diagnostics & Research 2017 Presented by: Bruce Hollis, PhD - Professor, Pediatrics, Biochemistry and Molecular Biology, Director of Pediatric Nutritional Sciences, Medical University of South Carolina Speaker Biography: Bruce W. Hollis, Ph.D. received his B.Sc. and M.Sc. from the Ohio State University and subsequently his Ph.D. from the University of Guelph in 1979. Dr. Hollis then completed an Endocrine Fellowship at The Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine in 1982. Dr. Hollis was then Appointed Assistant Professor of Nutrition at Case Western and remained there until 1986 when he moved to The Medical University of South Carolina where to he is Professor of Pediatrics, Biochemistry and Molecular Biology. He is also Director of Pediatric Nutritional Sciences. Dr. Hollis has studied vitamin D metabolism and nutrition for the past 35 years and has been an NIH grant recipient for the past 30 years. His current work focuses on the vitamin D requirements during pregnancy and lactation. Dr. Hollis has in excess of 200 peer reviewed articles in this area of investigation. Webinar: Vitamin D as a Modifier of Genomic Function and Phenotypic expression During Pregnancy Webinar abstract: Pregnancy represents a time of rapid bodily change, which include physical proportions, physiology and responsibility. Arguably, nothing during these times changes more than the requirement and metabolism of vitamin D, although from current Institute of Medicine (IOM) recommendations one would never surmise this fact. Do the current recommendations for the requirements of vitamin D during these critical time periods reflect emerging data? Sadly, no. The minimal recommendations by the IOM and the zero recommendation by The World Health Organization (WHO), which was echoed by a recent Cochrane Review, stating that there are simply no requirement for vitamin D during pregnancy, are contrary to expanding published data (later reviewed in this chapter) that suggest otherwise. Why these recommendations continue to be made remains unclear, but clearly not recognizing a problem exists suggests that one does not need to address the “problem.” During these dramatic times of physiologic change, the roles of vitamin D in the pregnant versus, for example, the lactating woman are quite different. In the pregnant women, we believe the primary role of vitamin D to be an immunomodulatory – rather than a calcium-regulating factor, although, it would also retain that function. Further, vitamin D inadequacy in early life is clearly an instance of the “Barker Hypothesis”. This theory states that certain adult-onset diseases might have their roots in nutritional insults sustained in the perinatal period (either in utero or in the early months of infancy or both). Clearly, conditions associated with vitamin D deficiency such as asthma, multiple sclerosis and other neurological disorders would qualify. If one is reading this review to relive the past 50 years of vitamin D recommendations during pregnancy, we suggest you read other recent publications for history in this area. However, if the reader is interested in gaining new insight into the vitamin D requirements and function during pregnancy supported by recent data, we suggest you read on. Also, with regard to randomized controlled trials (RCT’s) for vitamin D, they are largely doomed to fail. The reasons for this are many and specific cases of this failure will be presented. Good Fats, Bad Fats: Separating Fact From Fiction
This is a an eighteen-minute clip from my 2011 Wise Traditions lecture, "Good Fats, Bad Fats: Separating Fact From Fiction." You can purchase the full 85-minute lecture here: http://www.fleetwoodonsite.com/product_info.php?products_id=10838#.Ub97bOsd4jo This clip presents an analysis of the six randomized controlled trials testing the effect on heart disease of substituting polyunsaturated vegetable oils (oils rich in polyunsaturated fatty acids or PUFAs) for traditional animal fats and tropical oils. It includes a few laughs. The full lecture deals with several other fat-related topics, including the myth that arachidonic acid is inflammatory, and the myth recently promoted by the USDA that "solid fats" are empty calories that reduce nutrient density. Natural Hair Loss Treatments
For more information regarding HAIR LOSS : http://45115dyc-n2ven16g2j8hjri1j.hop.clickbank.net/ FACEBOOK : https://www.facebook.com/endpur.healthyliving Natural Hair Loss Treatments : Natural hair loss treatment is a wonderful option for those suffering with any sort of hair loss. Treating hair loss naturally is becoming a trend for treating hair problems and todays media plays a vital role in popularizing the trend. However, there are several critics too, which argues that the treatment of hair problems can not be done naturally and natural supplementation to hairs is not possible. Most of the people and specially those suffering with hair loss either have to believe the hypothesis or have to reject and in either case one has to either gain or loss something. Generally people looking for hair loss treatment options ends up with biased and distorted reports which does not serve the purpose. So if you are the one suffering with hair loss then you have to find best possible solution for treatment, be it natural treatment or medication or something else. Since your food plays a vital role in making up your body and performing different bodily tasks, this is very important for you to analyze your food for the proteins and vitamin contents. You also can choose on hair loss food to treat your hair loss naturally. Natural hair loss food supplements are gaining popularity these days. However, there are no significant proofs available to support the logic if a food supplement helps in treating hair problems or not. Since the food you eat imparts to your overall body health and hair are part of your body, you have to look for the following key supplements in your food, assuming the fact that the problem of your hair loss may be the cause of nutrients in your diet: Vitamin A Vitamin A is very vital in maintaining your body and hair health. This also works with silica and zinc to avert clogging and drying of the sebaceous gland. Sebaceous gland produces a fluid named sebum which is very important in producing lubricants for the hair follicles. Due to deficiency of vitamin A your scalp become thick and dry which causes dandruff filled hair and ultimately hair loss. Bad air, extremely bright light, some cholesterol drugs, laxative and aspirins, etc often causes hair problems. Alcohols are deficient in vitamin A. Consumption of vitamin A more than 25000 IU per day regularly for nine months also causes hair loss. To fulfill the vitamin A of your body, you have to consume food items like; fish oil, fortified milk, liver, red / yellow spinach and oranges. Vitamin B6, B12, Folic Acid All of these three vitamins are very important in maintaining level of hemoglobin in blood. Hemoglobin ensures the supply of oxygen from lungs to tissues of the body. So, if your body is deficient in these three vitamins then your hair skin will suffer. All of these three vitamins i.e. vitamin B6, B12 and folic acid, works together so that you must have of each one to fulfill the need of these vitamins in your body. To ensure the supply of enough vitamin B to your body, you have to consume foods like liver, fish, chicken, pork, soybeans and kidney, etc. Vitamin C Vitamin C ensures the health of collagen in your body. Collagen is necessary to hold your body tissues tightly. The deficiency of vitamin C in your body can cause split ends and hair breakages. To ensure the enough supply of vitamin C in your body, you consume foods, like; fresh peppers, citrus fruits, melons berries, potatoes, tomatoes and leafy green vegetables, etc. Vitamin E Vitamin E in your body is responsible for healthy blood circulation and supply of oxygen to the scalps. Vitamin E deficiency is normally due to inability of body to absorb oils and fats. To ensure the sufficient supply of vitamin E in your body, you have to consume foods like leafy green vegetables, nuts, grains, vegetable oils, and ready to eat cereals, etc. Music by : httpwww.danosongs.com

Dark Skin Pigmentation Linked to Vitamin D Deficiency
Most people believe that having darker skin color is a good thing because dark skin color protects against the harmful effects of the sun’s ultra violet rays. However, it has its own disadvantage too: Dark skin pigmentation increases a person’s risk for vitamin D deficiency and seasonal affective disorder, a type of depression, reveals a new study published September 2014 by Medical Hypothesis. A World Without Cancer - The Story of Vitamin B17
This 1974 documentary by G. Edward Griffin explains the hypothesis that cancer is a "deficiency disease" that is brought about by the absence of Nitrilocides from Vitamin B-17 in people's diets, and it shows evidence that a related medical treatment known as Laetrile is able to often cure cancers that have already started. Various issues are discussed including an explanation of the theory, evidence of the treatment being effective including case histories, and an explanation of ulterior motives causing the medical establishment to inappropriately be opposed to such treatment.

A power packed solution to weight loss. Exercise, lots of water, minimize stress, eat natural uncooked foods would sum it up, and it is not difficult. A few fundamentals are required such as getting 8-10 hours of sleep, avoiding all sugar, be around those who love you as much as possible, and following the “16/8 hour” fasting plan. Cortisol is a death hormone..from Stress https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC2680862/ Abstract. Conclusion…. A simulation of the effects of acute increases in plasma Cortisol over time produced a decrease in hippocampal activity of 30% and atrophy of 20% by age 90 years. While a chronic elevation of Cortisol levels produced a greater decline in hippocampal activity; 40% and greater loss in hippocampal volume 25% – suggesting a chronic elevation in Cortisol may be more detrimental in this system rather than an acute elevation…. If you don’t get enough sleep you will gain weight https://academic.microsoft.com/#/detail/1969312874 Abstract. The recent obesity epidemic has been accompanied by a parallel growth in chronic sleep deprivation. Physiologic studies suggest sleep deprivation may influence weight through effects on appetite, physical activity, and/or thermoregulation. This work reviews the literature regarding short sleep duration as an independent risk factor for obesity and weight gain. Those who slept more retained more muscle https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC4860870/ Abstract. Conclusion. These findings support the hypothesis of a link between sleep and muscle mass. A no fat diet is not good for you…some fats are healthy and needed http://www.health.harvard.edu/staying-healthy/the-truth-about-fats-bad-and-good Your body needs some fat from food. It's a major source of energy. It helps you absorb some vitamins and minerals. Fat is needed to build cell membranes, the vital exterior of each cell, and the sheaths surrounding nerves. It is essential for blood clotting, muscle movement, and inflammation. For long-term health, some fats are better than others. Good fats include monounsaturated and polyunsaturated fats. Sugar is toxic to your liver http://www.journal-of-hepatology.eu/article/S0168-8278(08)00164-5/abstract?cc=y= While the rise in non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD) parallels the increase in obesity and diabetes, a significant increase in dietary fructose consumption in industrialized countries has also occurred. The increased consumption of high fructose corn syrup, primarily in the form of soft drinks, is linked with complications of the insulin resistance syndrome. Furthermore, the hepatic metabolism of fructose favors de novo lipogenesis and ATP depletion. We hypothesize that increased fructose consumption contributes to the development of NAFLD. Take magnesium for stress http://europepmc.org/abstract/med/1844561 Abstract. Mg deficiency increases susceptibility to the physiologic damage produced by stress, and Mg administration has a protective effect; studies on noise stress and noise-induced hearing loss are taken as an example. It’s incorrect to utilize the notion that “calories in versus calories out” is the way to manage weight. https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC506782/ Abstract. Conclusion. A review of simple thermodynamic principles shows that weight change on isocaloric diets is not expected to be independent of path metabolism of macronutrients and indeed such a general principle would be a violation of the second law…. The second law of thermodynamics says that variation of efficiency for different metabolic pathways is to be expected. Thus, ironically the dictum that a "calorie is a calorie" violates the second law of thermodynamics, as a matter of principle…. http://europepmc.org/abstract/med/7305667 https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/23719144 http://journals.plos.org/plosone/article?id=10.1371/journal.pone.0117959 https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC1931610/ https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC2880768/ https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/21750519 http://www.cnn.com/2009/HEALTH/expert.q.a/04/10/water.losing.weight.jampolis/ http://www.medscape.org/viewarticle/502825 https://www.researchgate.net/publication/51106123_Sleep_and_muscle_recovery_Endocrinological_and_molecular_basis_for_a_new_and_promising_hypothesis http://www.webmd.com/diet/sleep-and-weight-loss#1 https://academic.microsoft.com/#/detail/2068527329 https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC3268124/

The Evolution of Diverse Vitamin D Requirements
Whites have higher 25(OH)D than every other racial group, and the conventional explanation is that light skin evolved to allow sufficient vitamin D synthesis far away from the equator. In episode 24, I explain why these differences may relate to genetics of vitamin D metabolism that have nothing to do with skin color and may reflect a lower average need for 25(OH)D rather than a lower average ability to get enough. But "average" is the key word and when it comes to using this information on a practical level we need to look beyond racial categories and treat each person as an individual. In this episode, you'll find all of the following and more: should I offer online nutrition classes?; this will start of sounding like it's about racial groups, but it's really about individuals; blacks in America have lower 25 (OH)D than whites; the conventional hypothesis explains this as dark skin being poorly adapted to these latitudes; genetic evidence suggests light skin began evolving long after the migration from Africa; aggregate global 25(OH)D data do not support the conventional hypothesis; Caucasians have higher average 25 (OH)D than non-Caucasians at every latitude; Caucasians have higher average 25 (OH)D at temperate latitudes than non-Caucasians have at equatorial latitudes; blacks in America have higher bone mineral content than whites; calcitriol dominance favors getting calcium from our food, while PTH dominance favors getting calcium from our bones; genetic variation in the 1-hydoxylase can account for the difference in 25(OH)D between blacks and whites in America, but this has nothing to do with skin color or racial groups in the way we have socially defined them; calcium intake could influence how the genetic variation translates into 25(OH)D; this does not affect white 25 (OH)D, and it could be related to calcium intake; ancestral calcium intake could have mediated selective pressure on the relevant genes; blacks in the United States have higher average calcitriol and a higher average calcitriol-to-PTH ratio than whites; similar differences between Inuit and Danes: lower 25(OH)D, higher calcitriol, and lower PTH; a traditional diet raises 25(OH)D, raises calcitriol further, and suppresses PTH further; Asians have lower 25 (OH)D than whites in Hawaii; the references ranges may in effect be applying average white requirements to drive recommendations for everyone; the Maasai and Hadza have higher 25 (OH)D, but this may be due to higher calcium intakes, and/or higher ancestral calcium intakes that influenced their genetics; non-whites are probably adapted to lower 25 (OH)D than whites on average, but it is individual genetics rather than racial groups that are relevant; 25 (OH)D + calcitriol can be summed for a biological activity index; PTH should be in the lower half of the reference range; magnesium deficiency could confound the PTH measurement, but it probably has to be extreme.

Cultured and Fermented Foods- questions answered
cultured and fermented foods, what exactly they are, the benefits of consuming them and what the difference is between fermented foods and moldy food. An interesting informative interview. Learn about fermentation, and why cultured foods are so important to our gut health, probiotics and gut bacteria. What are the best fermented foods? How does it affect the immune system? What about kimchee or kefir or sauerkraut. How to make kimchee. How to make kefir, like water kefir or milk kefir. By Markus Rothkranz and James Sloane. They are acidic. They are very good for the body’s flora…stomach acid…which controls most of the body’s immune system. Also, there is a misconception that Alkaline kills off pathogens and Acids promote them. It’s just the opposite; pathogens are kept in check by the acids, not Alkalines. Acids also produce 80% of the body’s Serotonins. Serotonins do more than just make you feel good as they also help control blood pressure. Fermented foods preserve, protect and assist the body in maintaining its good health. Stomach acids kill off pathogens https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC1635176/ Abstract. Gastric acid may provide an important host defense by killing ingested pathogens. For example, normal gastric acidity kills more than 99.9% of several gram-negative bacilli within 30 min, and vegetative cells of Clostridium difficile are killed within 5 to 30 min upon exposure to pH 2 to 3 buffers. You get good benefits from a healthy flora; one important thing it produces is peroxide https://www.sciencedaily.com/releases/2008/01/080102134129.htm When the immune system is activated in response to bacteria, large amounts of hydrogen peroxide are produced by certain cells to fight the infection…. Fermented foods are really good https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC4303846/ Abstract. The expansive use of, and benefits gained from, fermented foods support their greater inclusion in Food Guides around the world. They have long been a part of the human diet, and with further supplementation of probiotic microbes in some cases, they offer nutritional and health attributes worthy of recommendation of regular consumption. Most live cultured yogurts are not live… http://etd.lsu.edu/docs/available/etd-11132013-134216/unrestricted/Song_thesis.pdf Abstract. Commercial yogurt powder has to go through drying process which kills the yogurt culture, so the health benefit of the yogurt culture bacteria are lost. Also, upon reconstitution commercial yogurt powder does not taste like yogurt, it is sour and off flavored. The hypothesis of this study was that yogurt cultured milk powder would have better culture bacterial counts, better physico-chemical and sensory characteristics than commercial yogurt powder currently available. Can you eat mold? There are some molds that are very toxic and there are some that are beneficial. https://www.fsis.usda.gov/wps/portal/fsis/topics/food-safety-education/get-answers/food-safety-fact-sheets/safe-food-handling/molds-on-food-are-they-dangerous_/ct_index Some molds cause allergic reactions and respiratory problems. And a few molds, in the right conditions, produce "mycotoxins," poisonous substances that can make you sick. Molds are used to make certain kinds of cheeses and can be on the surface of cheese or be developed internally. Blue veined cheese such as Roquefort, blue, Gorgonzola, and Stilton are created by the introduction of P. roqueforti or Penicillium roqueforti spores. Cheeses such as Brie and Camembert have white surface molds. Other cheeses have both an internal and a surface mold. The molds used to manufacture these cheeses are safe to eat. HEALTHY NATURAL PET FOOD- What to feed your dog to be healthy
Best diet for dogs -Markus Rothkranz interviews Dr. Ruza Bogdanovich, author of "Love your Pet, Let Nature be the Vet". Raw food is the food pets are designed for and should have to help them heal and live healthy long lives. http://www.MarkusNews.com A great vide for natural pet care and what to feed your dog or cat. What are the best natural dog food or natural cat food? Is it healthy to have a vegan dog or vegan cat? How about vegetarian dog or vegetarian cat? How do you heal cats naturally or healing dogs naturally? Learn about holistic pet care and what is a healthy dog diet that helps pet detox and natural cures. http://www.MarkusNews.com The best way to keep animals healthy is to keep them as natural as possible. They perform better in the outdoors. They need to walk on the dirt to benefit from the microbes. They need the sunlight just like we do. Your pet should eat as much raw foods as possible, stay away from Kibbles and certainly stay away from sugar. These guidelines have been proven to be effective. If you love your pet you will consider them. Raw food is best, including raw bones which don’t splinter, ….but a food with no corn or grain of any kind and meat as the first ingredient and raw vegetables is better than most. http://www.petmd.com/dog/nutrition/evr_dg_the_best_food_for_dogs?page=2 Veterinary nutrition specialist Dan Carey, currently works in Research and Development at The Iams Company: Look at the dog food labels. In the GUARANTEED ANALYSIS look for the Protein content to be at least 30 percent, the Fat to be at least 18 percent, preservatives to be via Vitamin E and/or C and look for Omega Fatty Acid to be present. Supplementation can be harmful, especially calcium supplementation to a pregnant bitch. If a good quality dog food is being fed no special supplementation should be needed. If a supplement is required to make the dog look or feel better or whelp healthier pups, you should instead change the food. http://jn.nutrition.org/content/136/7/1927S.full Abstract. Conclusion. When feeding, domestic cats and domestic dogs both display the legacy of their origins in the Carnivora. This is especially true for cats, where narrow nutritional requirements have resulted in the retention of much of the behavioral repertoire of their wild ancestor, including hunting, but also sexual behavior. Pets need to walk on the dirt to acquire microbes and other bacteria. https://thewholedog.com/sbo-probiotics-for-pets/ Dr. Jeannie Thomason, VND Soil Based Organisms have always been a natural part of our animal’s flora. When wild or feral dogs, wolves, even horses and birds, eat from the ground they are naturally getting soil based organisms on whatever they are eating on the ground; and of course they are teaming with micro flora and bacteria that were in turn found to be protecting and nourishing the grasses and plants. These same micro flora and bacteria proved to have a profound probiotic effect in the animal’s intestinal tract. Doctor recommends not vaccinate your pets https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/16220670 Abstract.CONCLUSIONS AND CLINICAL RELEVANCE: Young adult small-breed neutered dogs that received multiple vaccines per office visit were at greatest risk of a VAAE within 72 hours after vaccination. These factors should be considered in risk assessment and risk communication with clients regarding vaccination. You should keep sugar away from your pets https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC2235907/ Abstract….The evidence supports the hypothesis that under certain circumstances rats can become sugar dependent.
