In this video I show you what I have in my emergency prepping closet. I show you guys all of my survival gears, survival food, my bug out bag, my AR 15 and ammo, first aid kit, and all my other emergency and preparedness gear. I also talk about my prepping philosophy and my bug out plan vs my bug in plan. I dont prep for the zombie apocalypse, or for the Illuminati taking over the country or any global or even nation disaster. Instead, I prep for smaller, localized natural disasters such as Hurricane Katrina or Hurricane Sandy. I feel confident that I have enough freeze dried food and emergency supplies to last my family and I at least 2 months during a natural disaster. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ----------SUPPORT THE CHANNEL----------- Get Survival Know How Merchandise: http://www.zazzle.com/survival_know_how Amazon Store: http://astore.amazon.com/bugoutbro-20 BattlBox Affiliate Link http://bit.ly/BattlBox1 ------------------LET'S CONNECT!----------------- The Blog https://www.SurvivalKnowHow.net Like me on Facebook https://www.facebook.com/bugoutbrothers/ Follow me on Pinterest https://www.pinterest.com/SurvivalKnowHow/ Follow me on Google+ https://plus.google.com/u/0/b/101609939051770060309/+bugoutbrothers/posts/p/pub

300 is a rough estimate by watching...realistically it's probably more. The best part is...you don't notice it's there. You aren't always near home, but you are almost always near your vehicle, so why not make it a mobile emergency supply station? Granted...depending on where you live and individual risks, a GOOD security system is a must. Rather than have stuff sit in my basement, I TRIED to make the most comprehensive vehicle system I could, with the idea being I could get by EASILY with what is in the vehicle if I just jumped in it with nothing else. For about $75 and 3 hours of your time you can build a nice little garden that will be protected from grass and weeds, pests, and erosion. Not only will this be a fun project but it will teach you valuable skills, save you money in the long term, and provide an emergency or food shortage option for some food. If you live far away from a hardware store or don't want to cut the lumber, here is a kit you can order for about the same price: http://amzn.to/2q6NaSZ

A quick video on where I get my food grade buckets from. I prefer the Lowe's food grade buckets. Currently they have 2 of them in stock. However, as added protection I strongly recommend that you use a mylar bag to further protect your food supplies. These buckets are pure gold for preppers and great for shtf use. You can store food in them long term or use them to haul water or even make a bug out bucket or store ammunition.

This Video talks about how to store gas safely in your garage. This is NOT a video on how to store thousands of gallons but just enough (for a residential situation) to Bug Out or use your generator if you have to. The more gas you store the better, but be safe! I forgot to mention in this video that you SHOULD NOT fill your gas cans up all the way so that the gas can expand in a plastic container. That's why you should let the air out of the can every once in a while. Have a number of fire extinguishers close by as a precaution (not just because of the gas). While gas can be stored for a long period of time under the right circumstances be sure to change it out every 6 to 12 months for best results.

Correction I bought numerous items and misquoted the cost of the tank. It was $575. The $400 tank is the 300 gallon size. Sorry I think I need to go back to my thinking chair. A 500 gallon septic can be installed to use as a cache or a shelter. Other sizes 1000 and 1500 gallon could be used also. If you are developing your property but it will be some time before you start building put a septic tank in and store survival supplies in case you have to bug out to the property. Make sure you place heavy items in the tank so it doesnt work its way up to the surface. Yes they can pop up with a heavy rain if they have nothing in them.A 500 gallon septic can be installed to use as a cache or a shelter. Other sizes 1000 and 1500 gallon could be used also. 7 Ways to Immediately Secure Your Neighborhood after a Grid Down SHTF Event. 1. Close off main entrances to neighborhood with vehicles. 2. Establish moving ground patrols 24/7 with random patterns and time intervals. 3. Tree and roof top patrols. 4. Foxhole security guards. 5. Get names of everyone who lives in the community, let no one in without verification. 6. Cover border fence tops with cement and broken glass. 7. Have to consider sharing extra weapons to supply patrols with weaponry. We all need more ideas. If you have more please add them below, if you think of security ideas for other environments such as apartments or condos or city dwellers or rural dwellers please share those too. Make a plan now so that if anything does happen you can kick into gear right away. If you have no protection it doesn't matter what supplies you have. Minutes can matter. Okay, you bought a used shipping container, you’re going to dig a hole and bury it, all done right? I’m afraid not. Early in 2012 I built a storm shelter for my family. It's a twelve by twenty concrete block structure designed to be bermed over. Total cost was just over $3,000. I made a video to walk people through the process; I had never done anything with concrete before this project, so this video is designed to take a beginner and explain everything I had to learn in order to do this. Well, maybe not everything, but a lot - the important stuff. The version of the video here is only the first half. I'm selling the whole video, and plans, etc at my website: www.diystormshelter.com

Family Disaster Plan and Tornado Shelter on News Channel 2 WKRN on Feb. 4, 2013. Follow these basic steps to develop a family disaster plan: 1. Gather information about hazards. Contact your local National Weather Service office, emergency management or civil defense office, and American Red Cross chapter. Find out what type of disasters could occur and how you should respond. Learn your community's warning signals and evacuation plans. 2. Meet with your family to create a plan. Discuss the information you have gathered. Pick two places to meet: a spot outside your home for an emergency, such as fire, and a place away from your neighborhood in case you can't return home. Choose an out-of-state friend as your "family check-in contact" for everyone to call if the family gets separated. Discuss what you would do if advised to evacuate. 3. Implement your plan. ○ Post emergency telephone numbers by phones; ○ Install safety features in your house, such as smoke detectors and fire extinguishers; ○ Inspect your home for potential hazards (such as items that can move, fall, break, or catch fire) and correct them; ○ Have your family learn basic safety measures, such as CPR and first aid; how to use a fire extinguisher; and how and when to turn off water, gas, and electricity in your home; ○ Teach children how and when to call 911 or your local Emergency Medical Services number; ○ Keep enough supplies in your home to meet your needs for at least three days. Assemble a disaster supplies kit with items you may need in case of an evacuation. A disaster supplies kit should include: A 3-day supply of water (one gallon per person per day) and food that won't spoil, one change of clothing and footwear per person, one blanket or sleeping bag per person, a first-aid kit, including prescription medicines, emergency tools, including a battery-powered NOAA Weather Radio and a portable radio, flashlight, and plenty of extra batteries, an extra set of car keys and a credit card or cash and special items for infant, elderly, or disabled family members. Store these supplies in sturdy, easy-to-carry containers, such as backpacks or duffle bags. Keep important family documents in a waterproof container. Keep a smaller disaster supplies kit in the trunk of your car. 4. Practice and maintain your plan. Ask questions to make sure your family remembers meeting places, phone numbers, and safety rules. Conduct drills. Test your smoke detectors monthly and change the batteries at least once a year. Test and recharge your fire extinguisher(s) according to manufacturer's instructions. Replace stored water and food every six months. List of essential emergency preparedness items to keep in your shelter or in a designated location: • Dehydrated and packet snacks • Chocolate - soothes nerves • Weather Alert Radio • Wireless Weather Alert & Emergency Radio • Helmet • Large Glow Sticks • Whistle • inReach 2-way Satellite Communicator with GPS • Flashlight • Hand Sanitizer • Eva Jacket • Sleeping Bag • Blanket • Bottled Water • Steel-Toed Boots/ Hiking Boots • Pants • T-Shirt • Backpack • Toys • Kleenex • Medicine/ Medical Kit National Storm Shelters offers you an affordable solution for tornado security. Blueprints to build a dog house by: http://www.downloadwoodplansonline.info/ If you’re someone who treats your canine companion as a member of the family, you want the best for your dog. This includes the food you offer, the toys you buy, and the shelter provided when your dog ventures outside. Spoiling your dog with their very own pooch palace can protect them from inclement weather and offer a practical retreat when necessary. Find out why you should build a dog house and take away a couple of tips when you start construction. Benefits of Building a Dog House A major benefit of constructing your own dog house is designing and implementing specific needs your canine might have. These houses can protect your pooch from the outside elements, including hot or cold temperatures, due to their insulating matter. They can also give an area for dogs to rest after running around outside. What to Consider Before Building 1. Determine the Size of Your Dog House An important piece to consider when you build a dog house is that it must fit your dog. If your dog is a puppy, consider that your beloved canine will grow. You don’t want to spend time and money constructing a dog house to have your dog outgrow it in just a few months. However, avoid making the dog house too large since a smaller house can be warmed with your dog’s natural body heat during the winter months. Your dog needs enough space to get inside the house, turn around, and lay down. Think of the space as the size of a crate you would use for your pet indoors. Dogs prefer spaces that are cozy, not open or airy. A good size would have the height of your dog plus 9 inches, the length of your dog plus 18 inches, and the width of your dog plus 12 inches. 2. Know Your Pet’s Habits You know your dog’s behavior the best. Does your pooch like to keep tabs on his surroundings? If so, build a dog house with a flat roof instead of one with an overhang or eaves to ensure full visibility. Does your dog pant a lot or have a tendency to over-heat? Then be sure to avoid shingles for their roof, as they can attract and hold heat from the summer sun. Instead, use an exterior plywood panel as a roof and treat it with a nontoxic stain, such as linseed oil. Whatever your pooch’s preferences are, building the best house for your dog means paying attention to all their creature comforts, and planning for them accordingly. 3. Consider the Weather Putting a door on the dog house can give your dog extra warmth in the winter. The Pennsylvania Emergency Management Agency urges owners to not leave puppies, smaller dogs, or older dogs outside when temperatures fall below 40 degrees Fahrenheit. However, during summer, remove the dog house door to increase ventilation. Unlike people, dogs don’t care if they need to duck to enter their house, so you can build the door smaller than their total height. Place the door off-center to the front of the house. That way your dog has more privacy and more protection from severe weather. If you want the door to close, use magnetized flaps since these let your pet get in and out easily while keeping the inside warm. You should also place the house off the ground to prevent water from entering on the rainiest of days. In addition, the raised floor will keep the interior warmer during the cold months. Think about having a floor that slopes toward the door opening, as this can help the melted snow and rain water collected on your dog’s coat drain out of the house. Tip: To give proper ventilation, drill several nickel-sized holes on the side of the house’s walls. This gives the hot air a place to escape in the summer and the interior a chance to dry out in the winter. 4. Find an Ideal Location If possible, place your dog house in the coolest, shadiest part of your yard. The more time your dog house spends in the shade, the longer it lasts. Try to situate the house against a wall of your house or garage to protect it from the wind. For houses that have doors, place the doorway east to protect the house from approaching storms. 5. Narrow Down Your Materials The cheaper and more lightweight choice is building a plastic dog house. These types are easier to transport, don’t rot, and don’t need refinishing. They’re also the easier option to clean since all you need to do is wipe or hose them down. The more popular option is the wooden dog house due to its insulation and better protection against the outside elements. These types of houses tend to look like a real home with their square design on the front and back along with rectangular sides. Often, these types of dog houses have shingles atop a triangular-shaped roof. Wood can withstand high temperatures and humidity as well as insulate your dog when temperatures dip. Most wooden dog houses use cedar, pine, or fir wood in construction. Blueprints to build a dog house by: http://www.downloadwoodplansonline.info/

Order The Easy Cellar & Special Discount: https://tinyurl.com/Easy-Cellar-Discount Here's what you'll discover in the "Easy Cellar" Program: - First of all, we made this blueprint as simple as possible so that it would be a no-brainer. Just like me, you'll have Jerry on your side telling you exactly what to do until you finish your backyard Easy Cellar. You'll have unlimited access to our videos, our plans, and our instructions...and you can call Jerry to ask him anything about your project as part of our program. - Just imagine the exact spot in your backyard where you will soon have your old-fashioned root cellar. When stepping down those stairs, the cold air will take you back in time at least 100 years, when every house in America had one to store everything our great-grandparents grew or bartered for. It kept everything from spoiling without electricity, and it will do the same for you. You'll have fresh, healthy food right off the shelf to feed your whole family. Not to mention that it will look so cool that all your friends will bombard you with questions about it. - The Easy Cellar was specifically designed to be hidden away from prying eyes or looters. So even if you're outnumbered and surrounded with nowhere to run, you'll always have this secret place to go to, where nobody will find you. So how will you feel, when five looters are ravaging your house, to be able to observe them safely while tucked away in your concealed bunker? And even if FEMA comes for your supplies to redistribute them, they can't steal supplies they don't know are there...because your cellar will be invisible. - The Easy Cellar will serve as a perfect storm shelter too. You and your family can always take cover there, even from F5 tornadoes or category 5 hurricanes. After these catastrophic events that tear down houses and cause weeks of blackouts, you won't have to sleep on the floor of some high school or stadium, crammed in with thousands of other empty stomachs. Instead, you'll still eat delicious food three times a day and stay safe all thanks to your Easy Cellar. - I will also show you exactly what to store in your Easy Cellar so you can have everything you need to stay inside for three months. That's right, if you don't want to leave or it's dangerous to go outside, you and your family can outlast any crisis from the inside. - You'll learn how I made my own odorless toilet and reliable sink in less than 60 minutes. I personally tested my Easy Cellar: For one week, I closed myself inside just to see if I needed anything else. Believe me, sometimes no TV can be a good thing. I had my radio with me though. It was one of the most relaxing and carefree weeks I've ever had. I would have stayed longer, but I didn't want to diminish my food reserves for nothing. - You'll also discover how to use an ingenious method to safely store large quantities of water-a method that was used by our great-grandparents too. You see, with no direct sunlight and the cellars' low temperature, water doesn't spoil easily. But using this method will keep your water fresh almost forever. Along the prepping journey I have had my share of fumbles. Learning from these fumbles allows me to grow. You know what they say " Mistakes are not bad if you learn something from them" :) Mistake #1: Not repackaging food properly for the long haul. Getting good deals on any food only serves a purpose if you can get that food to last a long time. Even though I have repackaged a lot of food, I do see some that still needs repackaging. That repackaging will come in the form of ziplock mylar bags with oxygen absorbers or vacuusealed bags or vacuusealed mason jars. If I am going to invest the money to buy it, it has to last. :) Mistake #2: Avoiding the skill I know I need to learn better: Gardening Having a well stocked garden and the skills to maximize harvest yield can make the difference between life and death in any SHTF situation. Mistake #3: Not having a solid local prepper community network. I am on the fence about this one. Torn between not wanting to reveal to my neighbors what I am doing it and why I am doing it vs knowing full well the chances of survival are greater in a group. OK, those are my 3 right now. I will be examining these and reconsidering my strategies on all 3 fronts over the next year. I know I have more, this is just the tip of the iceberg ;) Please feel free to share what areas in prepping you may have made mistakes in, after looking back and seeing how things went.
