Blood in the sputum means, it can be the first sign, it can be simple, trivial thing. Sometimes you get a bronchitis or viral infection also, we get blood in the sputum. It can be as trivial as it. So in our country, when we have blood in the sputum and it might be a mild amount of streaky hemoptysis, or it is called as hemoptysis, coughing of blood. So this can be because of any coagulation abnormality if you are taking any drugs like ecospirin or any other drugs. If you are stopping the drug, it is enough. Sometimes, it can be a really serious matter. So in our country in a young patients, it can be tuberculosis, and any pneumonias, we can get a rusty sputum and sometimes in a smokers, in elderlies, rust can be a first feature of lung cancer and there are other many causes for , real causes for blood in the sputum. Usually we just go, look out for associated symptoms in blood in the sputum, if they have fever, chest pain and cough of short duration, it might be pneumonia. So if it is subacute history, means its long duration, and they have associated cough, evening rise of temperature, night sweats, and they are exposed to a TB patients, they are staying in an overcrowded place, it can be a first manifestation of TB, which requires further evaluation. So in terms of cancer, we need to do further testing. X-ray is the first test we do and blood test and blood grouping. Sometimes it can be massive hemoptysis, more than 500 ml coughing out heavily and the BP can go down, they can end up in an emergency. They almost require like intubation on ventilation also and correction with blood. There are also some emergency procedures, if there are somebody is bleeding, they might require a surgical removal of a part of the lung. It can be fungal infection, because of the immunosuppressed host and can be because of bronchiectasis is also one of the cause. We do something called as bronchial artery embolization. Even that might be a reason for blocking the airways where blood supply to particular region is affected. That can be reduce the blood in the sputum. So we have to know the cause for the blood in the sputum. Sometimes w arrest, we localize the area of the bleeding, if it is in the right lung, left ling, we intubate and secure the separate lung and then go for a surgery because this is really an emergency. So this is a commonest ominous sign. It might be a premonitory symptom for anything big happening. So that’s the hemoptysis that we should never neglect. So sometimes it requires some massive amount of blood transfusions and admission. So any blood in the sputum should not be neglected.

According to a research, almost 40% of patients suffering from cancer were diagnosed when the cancer has evolved in the late 3rd stage, meaning it has already made big progress. This is as it is because lung cancer shows no symptoms and it is hard to notice it in its early stages. Fortunately, there are 7 signs that indicate lung cancer and can help you in diagnosing it before it is too late. 1. Persistent Cough Pay attention to the way you cough. If the cough is gone after one or two weeks, it means you have caught a regular cough due to a respiratory infection or a cold. However, if you suffer from the same cough even after two weeks it might indicate to lung cancer. If you cough out mucus it is mandatory to visit your doctor and make the relevant tests on your lungs and chest, for example: x-rays. If there are some other changes in your cough, such as: cough with hoarse sound, cough with blood or extreme mucus, then you must not waste anymore time and visit your doctor. 2. Being out of Breath Shortness of breath is another lung cancer symptom and it is caused because of two possible things: the first is there is probably a fluid accumulated in your chest as a result of a lung tumor; the second is there is narrowing (blockage) of the airways. Therefore, if due to some daily actions you feel shortness of breath, which did not make you feel like it before, such as bringing groceries, climbing up stairs or some other actions, then it is strongly recommended to visit your doctor. 3. Pain in the chest, back or shoulders Even though pain caused in the above mentioned areas is not often connected with lung cancer, it may be caused as a result of metastasis on the chests, lungs, or enlargement of the lymph nodes or the ribs. It does not matter if you feel healthy, strong, constant or dull, what matters is that you must visit your doctor in order to make sure what is going on with your health condition. 4. Whistling/Wheezing If you notice a wheezing or whistling sound while you breathe, pay a visit to your doctor. However, you must not panic because all those sounds appear when airways are constricted or inflamed. The sounds may be a sign of something easily curable. If the sounds are prolonged then you should visit your doctor for sure. 5. Weight Drop When having lung cancer, you may experience sudden weight drop. This is due to cancer cells using body’s energy that has been obtained from food. 6. Pain in the bones If you are feeling severe pain in the bones or any other part of your back during any time of the day or night, then you need to pay attention to this serious symptom and consult with a doctor. 7. Continuous headache If you are constantly feeling headache then you might be dealing with lung cancer that had spread to the brain. However, headache occurrence may not always be linked with metastases in the brain. This headache may be caused because the lung tumor presses the main vein that transfers blood from the upper part to your heart. How to be able to diagnose lung cancer at early stage? Since x-rays cannot discover lung cancer on time, there are CT scans (computed tomography) which can help in the process of discovering the sneaky disease on time and reducing the possibility of death when dealing with lung cancer. To sum everything up, you should not wait for any kind of sign to occur in order to go to the doctor, make an x-ray or do a CT scan. Any person between 55 and 80 years of age and the ones who have been active smokers in the last 15 years should make the tests as soon as possible in order to prevent lung cancer. I decided since i hacked some an amazing loogie of black shit that id record it again and talk about it briefly as last time it was kinda of orange and i havent eaten anything yet so here it is. The real video lol. With real black phlegm and nothing but! Its clear it's just ashes making its way into my lung and leaf bits. Also its very obvious its the brown tar that eventually turns black we all know as resin. If you smoke you are your own pipe. Therefore it gets clogged and dirty lol. It does come flying out for me because my body puts phlegm around it, im guessing vaping can loosen it and hot showers always make me cough a loogie up lol. So here again more disgusting shit for you guys to go "OH NOEZ" over and stop your bullshit smoking that you know isnt helping you get higher or save money. Get to vaping! I know i do! Ill admit this however as im not completely smoke free. I like to smoke my harvest when it comes around as it so delicious i worked so hard on it and its truly for nostalgia of what it used to be like so i can remember good times. I started vaping to save money but now its a health thing. I certainly have saved thousands of dollars with how much i have stashed in e juice, and how much it can prevent me from buying new bud every month not to mention im growing my own herb so i wont even need to buy any if i wanted some. But currently my home grow stash is out lmao. I over did it last time as it was the strongest best herb I have ever tried and totally right down my alley in the medicinal world, and well i decided this is my first good harvest, im going to abuse it as this may be my only opportunity to really experience what its like to have more than an ounce of top shelf. Needless to say i smoked way too much and went back to shake (which now for sure im promising i will never do anymore as its pointless, barely gets me medicated ill end up hurting myself instead of saving money) and will now resort to only buying mid grades to top shelf (whatever tastes good) Now of course my advice is quit smoking weed and whatever else you smoke altogether. But i know its tough and it is for me as well, because it just tastes so much better lol. I think if i buy a herb attachment to vape herb budlets in my mod i will get that amazing flavor back. Lately i have been "dripping" into my tank atomizer and using it like an RDA/RBA and its been working wonders on the flavor and smoothness of the hit. Ill make a video of that maybe. But i think its self explanatory but ill get bored today im sure and want to explain lol. Heres to top shelf joints for nostalgia and vaping for a healthy lung. Which i gotta say despite all my smoking every since i started my lungs have been healthier than they were as a kid! I think its because it opens my airways, cannabis is good for asthma. However its clear tar happens but it isnt causing me asthmatic symptoms. Vape one! Peace

If you start seeing blood in the mucus there is not much a thing to be panicked. A lot of times we induce this blood by our own actions. Either by clearing the throat forcefully, clearing mucus all the time and spitting it out or using instruments like tongue cleaner or brush to scrape the tongue and injuring the tissues. If you go on clearing the throat and spitting it out, looking at the mucus whether it is blood stained or not, there is no stopping of the blood. Basically after getting injured the blood stops forming clots and if you remove those clots it will again start bleeding and you will continue to see blood in the mucus. Mucus whatever colour, thickness is not abnormal and it is as important as saliva in your mouth. Even if there is lot of mucus in the throat it is not going to hurt you anyways. So leave the mucus alone, let the clot be around so that the blood will stop and the healing will happen. Stop forcefully clearing and spitting out the mucus, stop using tongue cleaners or brush over the tongue. These are not really required. Body has its own mechanisms to take care of whatever deposits are happening around the tongue. Even in spite of all this if you still feel that the mucus is still there and containing blood then consult a specialist, an ENT doctor or pulmonologist and clear the doubt. Let them examine, see if something is abnormal, may be get the mucus testing also and we will come to a conclusion.

Lung cancers consists of Small Cell Carcinoma, Sqamous Cell Carcinoma, Adenocarcinoma and Large Cell Carcinoma. We will be reviewing Epidemiology, Pathology Pathophysiology, Clinical Signs and Symptoms, Investigations and Treatment/Management of Lung Cancer. EPIDEMIOLOGY OF LUNG CANCER Adenocarcinoma is the most common right now and is the most common. It is the third most common cancer and is the most common cause of cancer death. RISK FACTORS OF LUNG CANCER Smoking, Asbestos, Radiation, Arsenic Chromium, Nickel. Genetics, Scar Formation (Wegeners, Fibrosis, Scleroderma) Air pollution, HIV. CLINICAL SIGNS AND SYMPTOMS OF LUNG CANCER Pulmonary Symptoms, most common is cough, Hemoptysis (which ca lead to asphyxia) Chest Pain (dull achy), Dyspnea (secondary to pneumonia, atelectasis, lymphatic tumor spread, pleural effusion and pneumothorax), hoarsenes (when laryngeal nerve involved), pleural effusion (serous, serosangiounous, bloody) which may be caused by metastasis into pleural fluid. Super Vena Cava Syndrome occurs when central tumor invades SVC which causes red, edematous face, prominent veins throughout the body and this is more common in small cell lung cancer. Pancoast tumor is a lung cancer located in the apex of the lungs. Pancoast tumor may lead to thoracic outlet syndrome (pain weakness in arm and hand). Horner Syndrome causes miosis, anhydrosis and ptosis (MAP) and this is more common in Non Small Cell Lung Cancer. Paraneoplastic syndromes are due to hypercalcemia (PTHrP) bone mets, calcitriol release, cytokine. SIADH causes increase water absorption leading to dilution hyponatremia, cerebral edema, anorexia, nausea vomiting. Resolves with chemo and treatment. Lambert Eaton Myasthenic Syndrome (LEMS) is a condition with auto-antibodies of the calcium channels in the Neuromuscular Junction. Proximal Muscle weakness and rising and standing. Hematologic derangements such as anemia, leukocytosis, thrombocytosis and hypercoagulability. Hypertrophic osteoarthropathy may lead to digital clubbing, periositis, Arthralgia, Cushings due to release of Ectopic ACTH. Metastasis symptoms occur when metastasis of lung cancer to liver, adrenal gland, Lung, Spine, Brain. Screen with PET-CT. INVESTIGATIONS FOR LUNG CANCER X-Ray may show a coin lesion. First step in management is to look at a previous x-ray and look for a sign of lung cancer on the old x-ray. Cytology of the sputum, bronchoscopy, and percutaneous. CT Scan and PET CT Small Cell Lung Cancer Oat cells look like small cells with little cytoplasm. All are of neuroendocrine origin (feyrter cells) on bronchus. Small Cell Lung Cancer is found central and has limited stage (Lung and 1 lymph node) Extended stage is spread beyond the lungs. Usually has early metastasis. May release ACTH, SIAD, Lambert eaton myasthenic syndrome. Adenocarcinoma Mucin and TTF-1 Positive type of Lung Cancer. Graded from low grade to high grade. Bronchoalverolar carcionma is in situ carcinoma and has better prognosis. Most common in Non-Smokers (BAC) Squamous Cell Lung Cancer Irritation of bronchus causing metaplasia, then dysplasia, then carcinoma in situ and finally lung cancer. Also associated with Keratin pearls and cavitation from central necrosis. Goes into hilar nodes and gets late metastasis. Asymptomatic and can be deteetd with sputum cytology. Large Cell Lung Cancer Lots of cytoplasm, unknown origin and is a waste basket column. Peripheral and has late metastasis and can use cancer. TREATMENT OF LUNG CANCER Small Cell Lung Cancer metastasizes early on and therefore surgery is not an option. Cisplatin, Carboplatin and vincristin is also used. Responds very well to chemotherapy. Prophylactic cranial irradiation (PCI) to prevent brain metastasis. Surgery is possible if the tumor is very small and no metastsis Non Small Cell Lung Cancer is not responsive to chemotherapy or radiotherapy so surgery is the only option.

Ask Doctors - Get Video Answers in HINDI Subscribe to - https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCS1y5nTRddMYnozjN9iw0mA for HINDI videos Bloody mucus or mucus from the secretions in nose is an indication that there is something happening inside the nose, either in the form of injury or infections where the tissues are damaged and the blood vessels are damaged and there is some source of blood for, somewhere. Most commonly this bloody mucus happens in people who are cleaning their nose forcefully, or vigorously. Some of us have the habit of blowing the nose to clean every morning we do it religiously or forcefully. Over a period of time the tissues get battered so much that they get damaged and there will be a blood tinge in the mucus if there are no other symptoms like blocked nose or headaches or the mucus itself is being coloured or thick, smelly, then we just need basic investigations that this is just a simple injury related blood, not anything else there are other situations where we have some diseases happening in the nose it can be some diseases like common cold to most dangerous tumours in the nose. So if you have any blood or bloody mucus from the nose, we should look at the inside of the nostrils and a bit of the sinuses as well. The bests way is to get to an ENT specialist and have a check-up with him and they will do an endoscopy to visualise the inside of the nostrils and locate the side of the injury or the source of blood. This we are almost 90% where it is coming from after why it is bleeding the other thing we have to do is a CT scan if the sinus which gives a detailed information about the nasal cavity and the sinuses and we can easily locate the issue and appropriate treatment will be initiated if we locate. If we look at the simplest form of the injury, the first thing is to stop injuring the nose. So stop blowing the nose forcefully. Mucus is a part of the nose, the nasal cavity and your throat. By removing it we are not helping the body. Sometimes when you are having an infection or some allergies, then there will be a little excess mucus. So please leave a little bit mucus behind, even your nose block is not mucus. So when we blow out the mucus you get a relief of only a few seconds because nose block is caused by tissues that are swollen and congested. So you take appropriate medicines and do some steam and nose will open up rather than forcefully blowing it and causing injury to yourself. When you have an infection or allergic episode then you are already struggling with it and injury will make things worse for you.
Mucus is a viscous material produced by the mucous layer of your windpipe. Made from proteins water, antibodies, and dissolved salts, it should be clear in a healthy person. Its job is to lubricate your throat and nose. In addition, mucus helps shield your lungs from bacteria, dust, exhaust fumes, viruses, cigarette smoke, and other intruders. Mucus also contains important elements of the immune system (like the white blood cells) which kill any bothersome trespassers it catches. However, infection or some other type of disorder causes mucus to thicken up and start accumulating in your throat. You start coughing because it irritates your windpipe and you need to get rid of it. Yellow Mucus Meaning Yellow mucus hints that the immune cells are starting to work at the site of the infection or another type of inflammatory insult. White blood cells, also called leukocytes, are the cells of the immune system which are responsible for fighting germs. As they continue to fight the infection, they get picked up by the mucus, giving it a yellowish tinge. Green Mucus Meaning Green mucus is the direct result of dead neutrophils, a type of white blood cell most active in inflammatory and infectious responses, within the sputum. When neutrophils die and burst, they release a green pigment known as verdoperoxidase. Brown Mucus Meaning The color brown usually means old blood. You usually see this color after your phlegm appears pink or red. White Mucus Meaning Coughing up white phlegm means there is no pus or blood in it. Also, this type of mucus may signal that you have a bacterial infection in your airways which could require antibiotics, according to Harvard Medical School. Ways To Clear Mucus Faster If you’re dealing with a persistent cough, you likely have a buildup of mucus in your chest. Left untreated, it may lead to additional complications. There are many methods to expel mucus faster. Let us take a look at some of them: Drinking sufficient liquids, particularly warm ones, can help your mucus flow. Moreover, water can loosen your congestion by helping your mucus move. Blow Your Nose Properly - Clear only one nostril at a time, blowing gently since blowing too hard can lead to small openings in the sinus areas and can force bacteria and irritants further back into the body. Lemon is an excellent ingredient for loosening phlegm and mucus. More importantly, lemon’s antibacterial property and high vitamin C content boost the body’s resistance to infections. Gargling with salt water is a simple and easy home remedy that can help to kill mucus-causing infections in your upper airways and throat. Thank you. The commonest cause of a very thick mucus which is black in colour along with soreness in the throat and cold and cough is because of regular smoking. If you are a regular smoker, you take in a lot of carbon with chemicals, this gets deposited in the lung and in the process of healing itself the body tries to remove these carbon particles and the chemicals. So it starts pushing it out of the lungs. So it comes to the throat and it starts irritating the throat leading to inflammation, chemical induced inflammation causing soreness not as bad as what we would have during infection, but not as bad as tonsillitis or pharyngitis, but it makes you constantly clear the throat. Constant clearing will lead to this thick mucus which is back in color because of the presence of carbon particles in it. rare cause could be some bleeding inside the respiratory tract maybe because of a past infection or because of a tuberculosis or some other lung infection, there has been some other bleed inside the lungs which got stored inside in the form of blackish colour or at some point if you are coughing, it can get dislodged and come in contact with the mucus and give a black colour. If there is a constant black color excess in quantity for a long time, it is better to consult a doctor and get the problem sorted out.

Mucus is actually a lubricant that acts like a moisturiser on the throat. So if you see mucus in your spit, you may not need to worry much in most of cases. Generally, dry throat gets irritated and therefore, the throat needs mucus to keep it wet. But wait, brown mucus means something. It means something is wrong inside as mucus generally doesn't have any colour to it. It is better to visit the doctor if you spit brown mucus. Gargle warm salt water to cleanse the mucus and keep yourself hydrated by drinking lots of water. And here are some reasons why you have your phlegm brown in colour. Reason #1 Those who experience nasal bleeding because of a condition called nasal polyps tend to spit brown mucus. Visit a doctor if that is the case. Reason #2 Even pollution can be one reason. When you breathe in contaminated air, your phlegm tends to be darker. That is because your body is trying to throw away the dust particles through your phlegm. Reason #3 Even acid reflux could turn your phlegm into a different colour due to the food that you have eaten. Undigested food and mucus could make you feel vomit or spit brown mucus. Reason #4 If you have the habit of smoking, the tar and several other substances present in the smoke accumulate in the lung passage. That could cause brown mucus. Try to quit smoking as your respiratory system will take a severe blow if you contaminate it with tons of chemicals. Reason #5 Lung infections could also cause brownish phlegm. When bacteria get trapped, the colour of mucus could change. Reason #6 Even bronchitis and lung cancer could also show symptoms like brown phlegm. Therefore, it is better to get yourself diagnosed by a doctor if you observe coughing and brown phlegm. Reason #7 Even alcohol can cause infections in the respiratory tract. When lungs and throat suffer inflammation, you may observe your mucus turning brown in colour. Video URL : https://youtu.be/L64IFBncQGs

Among all four of the most common cancers lung, colorectal, breast, and prostate death rates are dropping, the American Cancer Society (ACS) reports. But while better screening methods and treatments are saving lives, some forms of cancer remain terribly lethal. Lung cancer can spread to nearly any region of the body, but the most common areas are the lymph nodes, liver, bones, brain, and adrenal glands. How do you know you have lung cancer? and What is the first sign of cancer? Fever is rarely an early sign of cancer but may be if a person has a blood cancer, such as leukemia or lymphoma. Some cancers may also cause unusual bleeding. For instance, colon or rectal cancer might cause bloody stools, while blood in the urine may be a sign of prostate or bladder cancer. Most lung cancers do not cause any symptoms until they have spread, but some people with early lung cancer do have symptoms. If you go to your doctor when you first notice symptoms, your cancer might be diagnosed at an earlier stage, when treatment is more likely to be effective. The most common symptoms of lung cancer are: • A cough that does not go away or gets worse https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=duAbd8fx7Ck • Coughing up blood or rust-colored sputum (spit or phlegm) • Chest pain that is often worse with deep breathing, coughing, or laughing • Hoarseness • Weight loss and loss of appetite • Shortness of breath https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xlZKcQja6_0 • Feeling tired or weak https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3nR6WKFrSJo&t=81s • New onset of wheezing If lung cancer spreads to distant organs, it may cause: • Bone pain (like pain in the back or hips) • Nervous system changes (such as headache, weakness or numbness of an arm or leg, dizziness, balance problems, or seizures), from cancer spread to the brain or spinal cord • Yellowing of the skin and eyes (jaundice), from cancer spread to the liver • Lumps near the surface of the body, due to cancer spreading to the skin or to lymph nodes (collections of immune system cells), such as those in the neck or above the collarbone Most of these symptoms are more likely to be caused by something other than lung cancer. Still, if you have any of these problems, it’s important to see your doctor right away so the cause can be found and treated, if needed. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bwOC7rN94Hc&t=94s Some lung cancers can cause syndromes, which are groups of very specific symptoms. subscribe to my channel awareness and precautions video
