If you’re watching this video, you’re already aware of how important it is to incorporate infographics into your marketing strategy. Infographics are easily adaptable, consumable, and unique. They are also simple and affordable to create with tools like Easel.ly. Let’s talk about how you can make your marketing campaign a real success with infographics! 1. Be Consistent! Branded Visuals Are Important When you’re creating infographics, keep your style guide handy. This means that you’re going to want to use the logos, fonts, colors, and icon style that your graphic designer used in creating your logos and other templates. If you didn’t have a graphic designer, that’s perfectly fine! Create your own style guide based on your logo, colors, and fonts. Stay consistent with these, but have fun when creating diverse content. Not everything has to use the same template (that can get boring!). 2. Diversify Your Marketing Potential With infographics, you’re not limited to one piece of content per media type. Consider breaking up your infographic into smaller consumable sections and insert these relevant sections in emails, brochures, ebooks, presentations, or as a screen capture in a video. I look at them, heart racing a bit, trying to figure out what to do. Do I give them the money? Any normal person would do that. Or do I do something unexpected? I chose the Antifragile way. I pretended not to speak English. It confused them for 2 seconds and then I did something much different. I nonchalantly walked up to a house and rang the doorbell, pretending it was my house. Now immediately they left, seeing their mistakes. Would I recommend this approach to you? No! Unless you are insane like me. It’s just an example of Antifragility. Not following a process. Mind you my process might have been life or death, but I like those odds. Let's talk Education If you look at your education system today. What are some words that pop into your mind? Over Priced, Horrible curriculum. A system designed to create work slaves How many people do you know that think their degree or diploma will guarantee them a job? Too many! Remember what I said above. The Educational system is a fragile ecosystem. JOB = Just over broke So, what are you supposed to do? I have created the antifragile equation of life. It draws inspiration from three sources: Nassim Taleb Joseph Campbell Fractal geometry. What you are about to learn will transform your life. I have been using this formula to teach countless entrepreneurs and mentees on mastering life and getting shit done! The Antifragile Equation (A x L x A) to the power of (R) R= Repeat A = Adaptability How do you apply this? We will use the educational system again. By now you can tell I have a hatred for our modern day educational brain washing, manipulative system. Let’s jump right in. You remember from above. You couldn’t get a job? You went to school. You spent 100k, but no job, no future. Instead of bitching and being fragile you apply the formula. A = Adaptable You realize there is no job, instead of bitching, you pause...and think. What is my next move? You look beyond your educational training, and you look into different avenues. Because at the end of the day, life is a game of survival. Remember what Darwin said? The adaptably is more or less a mindset shift. Once you realize you need to evolve and change. This will open you up for the next step in the equation. Remember...You MUST be aware of your situation. The term adaptability can also be interchanged with awareness on the conscience front. You + Obstacle (No job) + (Holy shit. I need to do something different) Equals = Entering the Adaptability Mind Frame Next comes the L = Learn. Below is rough outline of what I would do to become Antifragile. Look for different jobs outside you education: The world is yours. Approach jobs that you want and love. Not jobs that your stupid degree or paper tells you too! Seek out jobs in an unconventional way. Everyone sends resumes. You must be different to survive. I like the saying. Your works speaks for itself. So, if you see a company you like, find out how you can deliver more value too them. Example. You can redesign their website or fix their marketing or branding and give them your work for FREE! Now tell me…who will get the job? Some punk who just came out of college or YOU the guy that spent 3 weeks creating an epic redesign of their site? Bottom line… become indispensable, become unique. Don’t be like the rest of the Schmucks. Start your own job. Why rely on companies to feed you? Create your future and take charge. Hell, I have started two companies for online coaching: Both for under 500 bucks! And both can feed multiple families! Seek new education: Now, before you ask me “Ameer, I thought you hate education": Wrong! I Iove education. Education is the foundation of growth. What I don’t like is our system. So when I say seek new education I mean self-empowerment. Read a book a day. INVEST in yourself. Go to workshops. Your education never stops. A= Apply This step is critical! I have seen many who are really good at the first two, but never make it to the apply step. So let’s recap the formula and your journey to become Antifragile... In the mid 2000s, the Royal Norwegian Navy was looking to select a new anti-ship missile (ASM) to equip their ships. They looked at all foreign offerings, didn’t find any missile satisfactory, and instead drew up their own set of requirements. The requirements were: to meet the challenges of a future (up to 2040) ship-to-ship combat environment; to have a high probability of penetrating enemy air defense and countermeasures; to be effective in confined and open waters; and to be easily adaptable to different platforms. From these requirements, Kongsberg Defense drew up the NSM, or Nytt sjømålsmissil. The name “Naval Strike Missile” was only attached later for English marketing purposes. The philosophy behind the design was to create a subsonic, small, agile missile that would be hard to observe, as opposed to a larger, supersonic missile. For reference, the NSM is only four-meters long. This is half the length of the Russian P-800 and P-700 missiles. The Russian missiles also use active radar homing in the terminal phase. This can alert a ship that it is being targeted. In contrast, the NSM uses a passive infrared (IR) sensor to home in on its target. Passive IR seeker technology for ASMs was pioneered by Kongsberg on the earlier Penguin anti-ship missile. In addition to each individual missile being low observable and agile to avoid shipborne anti-missile defenses, the NSM is designed to work with an advanced mission planning system. This system leverages the strengths of the NSM (the agility, terrain following flight and low altitude) to create precise attack plans with multiple missiles arriving on the same target at the same time. Such saturation attacks are very hard to defend against. Terminal accuracy of the NSM is said to be less than two feet from the aim point to the impact point, so specific systems and areas on a ship can be incorporated into these attack plans to achieve desired disabling results. Another selling point of the NSM is its ability to recognize a ship’s class through the seeker. This ability is called autonomous target recognition (ATR). It allows the missile to engage the correct aim point for maximum damage and provide intelligence to the launching ship. Upon hitting the target, the effect of the NSM is determined by the programmable fuze. It can be programmed to detonate after penetration, allowing the titanium warhead casing to burrow into a target for maximum damage. There is also a steel grid within the warhead casing, to create a fragmentation effect for additional damage.

At Start-Up Chile this event happens twice a year at the conclusion of each generation of entrepreneurs. For the Start-Up Chile team, the lead up was calm as they took a seasoned approach to an event that many staff members have orchestrated over again. They welcomed familiar industry faces and alumni from previous generations. The room filled and Director of Acceleration and Start-Up Experience Patricia Hansen began to invite each start-up to the stage to present their enterprise. Businesses ranged from healthcare, logistics, courier services, e-commerce, website generation, workplace safety, crime prevention and education. Each entrepreneur dove in by expressing their personal story. Most had experienced the problem first-hand and it sparked the entrepreneurial grit needed to grow a business from the ground up. As a judge, I expect they are looking for a startups feasibility, viability and desirability within a given market. They are also looking for the classic entrepreneurial DNA possessed by successful entrepreneurs. Those who are inherently resourceful and adaptable to demanding conditions. In addition to personal characteristics, experience in sales, reputable advisory boards, and traction proved important factors in choosing a winner for Demo Day. We've already taken Griffin on three airplane trips in his young 6 month-old life. While traveling with little ones takes a little more planning and patience, it can be done. Here are the top tips for traveling with babies that I've learned along the way. 1. Book flights outside of the "witching hour." With young babies, the later the date, the more fussy they become. I learned the hard way not to book a flight in the 3 to 7 p.m. window. It is much easier to take morning flights because babies are better rested, happier and therefore more adaptable. 2. Reserve a window seat. This gives you privacy for nursing or feeding and contains a "wall" (the window) to lean against which helps with a squirmy baby. You are also in charge of the amount of light coming in through window shade, which helps when trying to get a baby to nap. An added bonus, some babies also like to look out windows... a nice diversion! 3. Go to gate early and see if you can be seated next to an empty seat. If the plane isn't full, most airline attendants will let you move to a seat next to an empty seat. This is a HUGE score. We brought Griffin's car seat onboard and strapped him in the empty seat between Mike and I. He fell asleep easily because he's in his own space and familiar with being in there for naps. 4. Bring a travel companion. If possible, be sure a husband, companion, friend or family member comes with you. This will allow you to take bathroom breaks and help you lug around all of the baby gear. In fact, I would seriously consider not traveling if you have to go alone. 5. Be prepared to nurse, nurse, nurse. Wear an easy access top and bra so baby can nurse liberally throughout flight, especially during take off. I also brought along a pacifier, which Griffin only gets in special occasions, as another tool to help soothe him during the flight. 6. Bring toys. Just a few of his/her favorites that pack well and aren't horribly loud. Again, this brings some of the familiar to the foreign environment. They are also a great way to entertain baby during long flights. 7. Pack for plane. Bring along a little bag filled with a few toys, pacifier (if you use), extra diapers, wipes, changing and burp cloths, a change of clothes and an extra sweatshirt and blanket. Babies like to touch everything and put things in their mouths so the wipes are critical to keep the germs at bay. While I'm not a germaphob, planes are filled with new exposures to the baby that could prove harmful, especially if they are not vaccinated. Extra clothes and diapers are obviously important in case there is a diaper blowout. Fun times. 8. Bring a baby carrier. My personal favorite is the Ergo carrier. If you don't have an extra seat for the car seat, you can use the carrier to rock your baby to sleep. I find that it worked much better than trying to create a bed on the airline tray! 9. If you can, wait till baby is 6 months. We went to California when Griffin was 4 months and I found that was a tough age. He was "awake" enough to be restless and bored but he was also young enough to be a hot mess if he missed a nap. By 6 months, babies sleep cycles are more ingrained and they are more resilient. If they miss a nap, they can roll with it better making for a better traveling experience all around. I even think 0-4 weeks would be better than 2-4 months since babies are still in that newborn "haze" and can sleep pretty much anywhere. 10. Be gentle with yourself and baby. Despite your best efforts, sometimes babies just need to cry on a plane. Griffin went "code red" for twenty minutes on his first flight and all I could do was rock him and patiently wait for him to pass out in exhaustion. I was getting the evil eye for all those around me. I felt like a terrible mother. It was hard. But it's gonna happen. They are babies and airplanes are very stimulating, and at times, uncomfortable places. Roll with it and try to even find the humor in the situation. It will be over before you know it. BTW, on the return flight, Griffin didn't make a peep and everyone was commenting on what an angel baby I had. LOL! Pregnant? While the missile itself is very lethal, the other half of the NSM’s success in the European export market is its ability to be adapted to a wide variety of platforms. In Norwegian service, the NSM is mounted on Skjold-class corvettes, which are very small ships. In Polish service, the NSM is mounted on heavy trucks. Raytheon has also mounted the NSM on the Heavy Expanded Mobility Tactical Truck (HEMTT) in demonstrations for the U.S. military. A demonstration of this capability (referred to as a cross-domain fire) will occur during RIMPAC 2018. The small profile of the launchers for NSM allows for a military to easily integrate the missile onto their existing truck fleet. In the mid 2000s, the Royal Norwegian Navy was looking to select a new anti-ship missile (ASM) to equip their ships. They looked at all foreign offerings, didn’t find any missile satisfactory, and instead drew up their own set of requirements. The requirements were: to meet the challenges of a future (up to 2040) ship-to-ship combat environment; to have a high probability of penetrating enemy air defense and countermeasures; to be effective in confined and open waters; and to be easily adaptable to different platforms. From these requirements, Kongsberg Defense drew up the NSM, or Nytt sjømålsmissil. The name “Naval Strike Missile” was only attached later for English marketing purposes. The philosophy behind the design was to create a subsonic, small, agile missile that would be hard to observe, as opposed to a larger, supersonic missile. For reference, the NSM is only four-meters long. This is half the length of the Russian P-800 and P-700 missiles. The Russian missiles also use active radar homing in the terminal phase. This can alert a ship that it is being targeted. In contrast, the NSM uses a passive infrared (IR) sensor to home in on its target. Passive IR seeker technology for ASMs was pioneered by Kongsberg on the earlier Penguin anti-ship missile. In addition to each individual missile being low observable and agile to avoid shipborne anti-missile defenses, the NSM is designed to work with an advanced mission planning system. This system leverages the strengths of the NSM (the agility, terrain following flight and low altitude) to create precise attack plans with multiple missiles arriving on the same target at the same time. Such saturation attacks are very hard to defend against. Terminal accuracy of the NSM is said to be less than two feet from the aim point to the impact point, so specific systems and areas on a ship can be incorporated into these attack plans to achieve desired disabling results. Another selling point of the NSM is its ability to recognize a ship’s class through the seeker. This ability is called autonomous target recognition (ATR). It allows the missile to engage the correct aim point for maximum damage and provide intelligence to the launching ship.
