WHY IS CHINA BUILDING A MILITARY BASE IN PAKISTAN, AMERICA’S NEWEST ENEMY? As the Trump administration announced plans this week to cut all security funding to Pakistan, Beijing revealed it would build an offshore naval base near a strategic Pakistani port. The naval base will be located in Gwadar Port, in the Pakistani province of Balochistan. Chinese military officials told the South China Morning Post that the new base was necessary because the current port, which caters mostly to merchant ships, is unable to supply the services and logistical support Chinese warships need. The project would mark China’s second foreign military base in the world, after a recent expansion in Africa. written BY CRISTINA MAZA Source : http://www.newsweek.com/china-building-military-base-pakistan-america-balochistan-772092 __________________________________________________________________________________________ Thanks You For Watching..... -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Site : https://worldofweapon.wordpress.com Facebook : http://www.facebook.com/worldofweapon16 Twitter : https://twitter.com/worldofweapon VK.com : https://vk.com/vk.worldofweapon Myspace : https://myspace.com/worldofweapon Tags:- defence news, news, world news, weapon, asia news, military news, military, event, military event, defense news,,defence update, defense update, military update china, military, news, military base, china military base, base, south china sea, china military news, china military power, djibouti, africa, china sea, china djibouti military, china military parade, china djibouti base, china military power 2017, chinese, army, politics, india vs china, china africa infrastructures, south china sea 2016, south china, china djibouti, china africa relations, the south china sea, military bases, navy, secret, breaking, united states, usa gwadar port, gwadar port pakistan, gwadar, cpec, pakistan, gwadar port full documentary 2016, china, gwadar port pakistan 2017, gwadar port documentary in urdu, gwadar port 2017, gwadar pakistan, gwadar port pakistan | full documentary | 2017, gwadar city, gwadar port importance, port, gwadar port becomes operational, pakistan gwadar port, gwadar port pakistan 2017 special and full documentary in urdu, gwadar port documentary, gwadar history chabahar port, pakistan, india, iran, chabahar port iran, india chabahar port, pak media on india, chabahar, gwadar port, pakistan on india, pakistani media on india, afghanistan, news, cpec, china, latest, pak media, modi, port, gawadar port, hassan rouhani, narendra modi, gwadar, zaid hamid, china pakistan economic corridor, make in india, pak media on india latest chabahar port, gwadar port, chabahar port vs gwadar port, pakistan, chabahar, port, cpec, chabahar port india, india, chabahar port news, port of chabahar, chabahar port latest news, india iran chabahar port, iran chabahar port, gwadar vs chabahar, chahbahar port, gwadar port pakistan, chabahar vs gwadar, jnpt port, pakistani media on india, pakistan vs india, gwadar, china, gawadar, latest, news, iran, pakistan army, pak media on india, usa, make in india, modi cpec, pakistani media on india, pak media on india, cpec india, india on cpec, pakistan on india, cpec pakistan, india cpec, china on india, why india is against cpec, chinese media on india, china pakistan economic corridor, cpec latest news, india pakistan, make in india, india iran chabahar port, modi, pakistan against india, india vs china, cpec failure, chabahar port, cpec news, cpec 2017, cpec in urdu, cpec route map, cpec route, india vs pakistan, cpec jobs, afghanistan

PYEONGTAEK, SOUTH KOREA — The U.S. has been working on one of its largest military overseas construction projects at Camp Humphreys in South Korea, located about 50 miles south of Seoul. Once the $11 billion expansion is finished, the installation will house a majority of the approximately 30,000 U.S. troops in South Korea, the Daily Beast reported. The 3,454 acre base is the size of a small city. A veterinary clinic, a dental clinic and a food court opened up in October. The massive complex has new headquarter buildings, an airstrip, firing ranges, barracks, motor pools, communications facilities, schools, day care centers, stores, churches and even a golf course, according to the Daily Beast. U.S. forces are spread across 174 bases in South Korea. Camp Humphreys will allow the U.S. to concentrate their forces there. The U.S. military plans to cut the number of bases in South Korea to just 96 by 2020. In the event of open war with North Korea, Camp Humphreys would give the U.S. forces the ability for rapid deployment to the front lines. ------------------------------------------------------------- TomoNews is your best source for real news. Philippines to reactivate Subic Bay as military facility The Philippines will station new fighter jets and two frigates at the former U.S. naval facility in Subic Bay from early next year, officials said, the first time the massive installation has functioned as a military base in 23 years.Using Subic Bay would allow the Philippine air force and navy to respond more effectively to Chinese moves in the disputed South China Sea, security experts said. Subic Bay's deep-water harbor lies on the western side of the main Philippine island of Luzon, opposite the South China Sea."The value of Subic as a military base was proven by the Americans. Chinese defense planners know that," said Rommel Banlaoi, a Philippine security expert. Once one of the biggest U.S. naval facilities in the world, Subic Bay was shut in 1992 after the Philippine Senate terminated a bases agreement with Washington at the end of the Cold War. Manila converted the facility, which was never home to the Philippine military, into an economic zone.Defense Undersecretary Pio Lorenzo Batino told Reuters the Philippine military signed an agreement in May with the zone's operator, the Subic Bay Metropolitan Authority, to use parts of the installation under a renewable 15-year lease.U.S. warships have called regularly at Subic Bay since 2000, but only to dock during exercises with the Philippine military or to use its commercial facilities for repairs and resupply. Officials said once Subic Bay was a military base again, the U.S. Navy could have much greater access to it under a year-old agreement that gives U.S. troops broad use of local military facilities, although that deal is on ice after it was challenged in the Philippine Supreme Court.Using Subic would be the latest Philippine military move to combat China's maritime ambitions.Besides beefing up security cooperation with the United States, Japan and Vietnam, the military plans to spend $20 billion over the next 13 years to modernize its armed forces, among the weakest in Southeast Asia. China, which claims nearly all of the South China Sea, said it was aware of reports of the arms buildup.

An interesting documentary about the world famous US Air Force bone yard for surplus or out dated aircraft. Davis–Monthan Air Force Base (DM AFB) (IATA: DMA, ICAO: KDMA, FAA LID: DMA) is a United States Air Force base located within the city limits approximately 5 miles (8.0 km) south-southeast of downtown Tucson, Arizona. It was established in 1925 as Davis-Monthan Landing Field. The host unit headquartered at Davis–Monthan is the 355th Fighter Wing assigned to Twelfth Air Force, part of Air Combat Command (ACC). The base is best known as the location of the Air Force Materiel Command's 309th Aerospace Maintenance and Regeneration Group (AMARG), the aircraft boneyard for all excess military and government aircraft. Overview Davis–Monthan Air Force Base is a key ACC installation. The 355th Fighter Wing (355 FW) is the host unit, providing medical, logistical, mission and operational support to all assigned units. This wing's combat mission is providing A-10 Thunderbolt II close air support and OA-10 forward air controllers to ground forces worldwide. The 355 FW provides initial and recurrent training to all U.S. Air Force A-10, OA-10 and EC-130 pilots and crews. The 355th is also the ACC's executive agent for INF and START treaty compliance. One of the wing's tenant units, the 55th Electronic Combat Group, is tasked to provide command, control and communications countermeasures in support of tactical forces with its EC-130H aircraft; and, employing the EC-130E aircraft, provide airborne command, control and communications capabilities for managing tactical air operations in war and other contingencies worldwide. Two other major tenants, the 563rd Rescue Group (structured under the 23d Wing, Moody Air Force Base) and 943rd Rescue Group (structured under the 920th Rescue Wing, Patrick Air Force Base), are tasked to provide combat search and rescue support worldwide. As the location of the Air Force Materiel Command's 309th Aerospace Maintenance and Regeneration Group (AMARG), Davis–Monthan Air Force Base is the sole aircraft boneyard for excess military and government aircraft. Tucson's dry climate and alkali soil made it an ideal location for aircraft storage and preservation. History The base was named in honor of World War I pilots Lieutenants Samuel H. Davis (1896–1921) and Oscar Monthan (1885–1924), both Tucson natives. Davis, who attended the University of Arizona prior to enlisting in the Army in 1917, died in a Florida aircraft accident in 1921. Monthan enlisted in the Army as a private in 1917, was commissioned as a ground officer in 1918, and later became a pilot; he was killed in the crash of a Martin bomber in Hawaii in 1924. Origins In 1919, the Tucson Chamber of Commerce aviation committee established the nation's first municipally owned airfield at the current site of the Tucson Rodeo Grounds. The rapid increase in aviation activities meant a move in 1927 to the site which is now Davis–Monthan Air Force Base. After the City of Tucson acquired land southeast of town for a runway in 1925, Charles Lindbergh, fresh from his nonstop crossing of the Atlantic Ocean, flew his "Spirit of St. Louis" to Tucson in 1927 to dedicate Davis-Monthan Field, then the largest municipal airport in the United States. Military presence at the field began when Sergeant Simpson relocated his fuel and service operation to the site on 6 October 1927. He kept a log containing names of the field's customers, including Lindbergh, Amelia Earhart, Benjamin Foulois, and Jimmy Doolittle. Doolittle, awarded the Medal of Honor for his 1942 Tokyo raid, was the first military customer at the field on 9 October 1927. The combination of civil and military operations worked well until the early 1940s, when military requirements began to require the relocation of civil aviation activities. World War II Davis-Monthan Airport became Tucson Army Air Field in 1940, as the United States prepared for World War II. The first assigned U.S. Army Air Corps units were the 1st Bomb Wing, 41st Bomb Group and 31st Air Base Group, activating on 30 April 1941 with Lieutenant Colonel Ames S. Albro Sr. as commanding officer. In its military role, the base became known as Davis-Monthan Army Air Field on 3 December 1941. Air Corps leaders utilize the airfield, sending Douglas B-18 Bolo, Consolidated B-24 Liberator and Boeing B-29 Superfortress bombers, for training and observation missions. Postwar years With the end of the war, operations at the base came to a virtual standstill. It was then the base was selected as a storage site for hundreds of decommissioned aircraft, with the activation of the 4105th Army Air Force Unit. The 4105th oversaw the storage of excess B-29s and C-47 "Gooney Birds." Tucson's low humidity and alkali soil made it an ideal location for aircraft storage and preservation, awaiting cannibalization or possible reuse — a mission that has continued to this day. Cold War

Shoigu in remarks carried by Russian news agencies also revealed that the military was also conducting talks with Algeria and Cyprus. He said that it was essential for the Russian navy to be able to call at their ports to service its ships. Shoigu said Russia was also talking to some of those countries asking them to allow long-range bombers to use their air bases for re-fuelling. President Vladimir Putin has launched a massive military modernization program and sought to demonstrate Russia's global reach by sending navy ships to the Mediterranean, Latin America and other areas. Russia according to Ria Novosti already has similar arrangements with Armenia, Tayikistán, Kirguizistán and Syria. Likewise in the Crimean peninsula of Ukraine, Russia has the outpost for its Black Sea fleet. The fugitive Ukranian former prime minister Viktor Yanukovich was a close ally of Russia and President Putin his main support.

Seven UK army sites will be axed as part of a major shake-up as soldiers return from Germany, it has been announced. Defence Secretary Philip Hammond said the changes would save £240m a year in running costs as soldiers move into "clusters" in key locations. Repatriating all troops from Germany will end Britain's long military history in the country, which dates back to the end of World War Two. Most of the 15,000 still serving there and their dependents will come home by 2016, ahead of schedule. The remainder, around 4,500, will return by 2019. The moves will primarily affect the RAF and Army. Returning forces will mainly be stationed around Salisbury Plain, Edinburgh and Leuchars, Catterick, Aldershot, Colchester, Stafford and the East Midlands. But several other sites will lose their military presence as the army shrinks. These include Claro Barracks in Ripon, North Yorkshire, Howe Barracks in Canterbury, Craigiehall Barracks in Edinburgh and Cawdor Brracks in Brawdy, Pembrokeshire. Parts of Redford Barracks in Edinburgh, Forthside Brracks in Stirling and Copthorne Barracks in Shrewsbury will also be available for disposal. Under the plans, almost £2bn will be invested in army housing and bases. Around £1bn of that will go on new houses for service families and accommodation for single soldiers. Another £800m will be spent on infrastructure and refurbishment of bases. Some 1,900 new homes will be built for military families and accommodation to house 7,800 single soldiers. Mr Hammond said the plans would give troops and their families greater stability. He also defended the decision to drop plans to double the size of the army in Scotland and said the changes would ensure Britain retains an adaptable, capable force. General Sir Peter Wall, Chief of the General Staff, said: "The plan provides an excellent springboard for operations overseas and it affords welcome certainty over where people will live." But shadow defence secretary Jim Murphy told MPs: "There will be real disappointment at the closures across the UK today - from Canterbury, Ripon, Shrewsbury and Brawdy, where historic bonds are now being broken." The decision not to send thousands more troops to Scotland was a "real blow" and "will not be forgotten", Mr Murphy added. The intention to carry out the changes was first announced in 2010 after the Strategic Defence Review. Further details were expected before Christmas but were delayed in light of the Autumn Statement because the Ministry of Defence had to re-examine the figures.

A great video about the worlds largest M1 Abrams Tank graveyard. The United States Armed Forces are the federal military forces of the United States. They consist of the Army, Navy, Marine Corps, Air Force, and Coast Guard. The United States has a strong tradition of civilian control of the military. The President of the United States is the military's overall head, and helps form military policy with the U.S. Department of Defense (DoD), a federal executive department, acting as the principal organ by which military policy is carried out. The DoD is headed by the Secretary of Defense, who is a civilian and Cabinet member. The Defense Secretary is second in the military's chain of command, just below the President, and serves as the principal assistant to the President in all DoD-related matters. To coordinate military action with diplomacy, the President has an advisory National Security Council headed by a National Security Advisor. Both the President and Secretary of Defense are advised by a seven-member Joint Chiefs of Staff, which includes the head of each of the Defense Department's service branches as well as the chief of the National Guard Bureau. Leadership is provided by the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff and the Vice Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff. The Commandant of the Coast Guard is not a member of the Joint Chiefs of Staff. All of the branches work together during operations and joint missions, under the Unified Combatant Commands, under the authority of the Secretary of Defense with the exception of the Coast Guard, which is under the administration of the Department of Homeland Security and receives its operational orders from the Secretary of Homeland Security. However, the Coast Guard may be transferred to the Department of the Navy by the President or Congress during a time of war. All five armed services are among the seven uniformed services of the United States, the two others being the U.S. Public Health Service Commissioned Corps (under the Department of Health and Human Services) and the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration Commissioned Officer Corps (under the Department of Commerce). From the time of its inception, the military played a decisive role in the history of the United States. A sense of national unity and identity was forged as a result of victory in the First Barbary War and the Second Barbary War. Even so, the Founders were suspicious of a permanent military force and not until the outbreak of World War II did a large standing army become officially established. The National Security Act of 1947, adopted following World War II and during the Cold War's onset, created the modern U.S. military framework; the Act merged previously Cabinet-level Department of War and the Department of the Navy into the National Military Establishment (renamed the Department of Defense in 1949), headed by the Secretary of Defense; and created the Department of the Air Force and National Security Council. The U.S. military is one of the largest militaries in terms of number of personnel. It draws its manpower from a large pool of paid volunteers; although conscription has been used in the past in various times of both war and peace, it has not been used since 1972. As of 2013, the United States spends about $554.2 billion annually to fund its military forces, and appropriates approximately $88.5 billion to fund Overseas Contingency Operations. Put together, the United States constitutes roughly 39 percent of the world's military expenditures. For the period 2010–14, SIPRI found that the United States was the world's biggest exporter of major arms, accounting for 31 per cent of global shares. The United States was also the world's eight largest importer of major weapons for the same period. The U.S. Armed Forces has significant capabilities in both defense and power projection thanks to its advanced and powerful equipment and its widespread deployment of force around the world. History Main article: Military history of the United States The history of the U.S. military dates to 1775, even before the Declaration of Independence marked the establishment of the United States. The Continental Army, Continental Navy, and Continental Marines were created in close succession by the Second Continental Congress in order to defend the new nation against the British Empire in the American Revolutionary War. These forces demobilized in 1784 after the Treaty of Paris ended the War for Independence. The Congress of the Confederation created the United States Army on 3 June 1784, and the United States Congress created the United States Navy on March 27, 1794, and the United States Marine Corps on July 11, 1798. All three services trace their origins to the founding of the Continental Army (on 14 June 1775), the Continental Navy (on 13 October 1775) and the Continental Marines (on 10 November 1775), respectively.

The U.S. Army's Top Secret Arctic City Under the Ice! "Camp Century" Restored Classified Film - In the late 1950s, during the height of the Cold War, the US military constructed a secret base in the Arctic for "research" purposes. Some theorists claim that it was actually used as a covert nuclear weapons storage &/or testing facility as part of Top Secret "Project Iceworm" with the ultimate objective of covertly placing medium-range missiles under the ice sheet -- close enough to strike the Soviet Union, while remaining hidden from the Danish government. Others have made even grander claims - that Camp Century was actually a weather manipulation experiment ... or a U.S. Military administered Alien / UFO base! The whole truth may never be known. This video is the actual declassified US ARMY FILM documenting the construction process. This video shows you that China Building Military Base on Afghan Tajik Border. China is building a military base for the Afghan armed forces in the province of Badakhshan, a senior Afghan military official has said. The plan, if it is realized, promises a deeper Chinese military involvement in Tajikistan, which is necessary as a supply corridor to Badakhshan. The plans for the new base were worked out during a visit last month by an Afghan defense delegation to Beijing, the official, General Dawlat Waziri, told the news site Fergana News. At that meeting, the two sides announced their intention to “deepen pragmatic cooperation in various fields including anti-terrorism operations, and push forward the state and military relations between the two countries.” China will supply everything the base needs, Waziri said, including "weapons, uniforms for soldiers, military equiment and everything else needed for its [the base's] functioning," Fergana reported. This is the latest move in Beijing's steadily increasing involvement in security issues on its western border. "China worries that Chinese Uighurs among the terrorists' ranks can cross into Chinese territory through Afghanistan and become a headache for the Chinese authorities," one Afghan security official told Fergana on condition of anonymity. For Central Asia, this has important implications because Tajijkistan appears to be an integral part of Chinese-Afghan military cooperation. Badakhshan shares a short (76-kilometer) border with China, but in a region impassable by vehicles. Badakhshan is most easily reached from China via Tajikistan's Pamir region, and some media have reported that Chinese military vehicles were using Tajikistan territory to transit to Badakhshan for military patrols. (A western diplomat in Central Asia has told The Bug Pit that those reports were credible.) China, Afghanistan, Tajikistan, and Pakistan (which also borders Badakhstan) are all members of a new Beijing-led security grouping, the Quadrilateral Cooperation and Coordination Mechanism, rolled out in 2016, to Russia's consternation. Also in 2016, China and Tajikistan held their first-ever joint bilateral military exercises in the part of Tajikistan bordering on Badakhshan. american aircraft carriers, china aircraft carrier, china carrier, china navy, china new aircraft carrier, china submarine, china vs us military, china vs usa military, chinese aircraft carrier, chinese navy, chinese navy news, chinese navy ships, chinese navy vs us navy, chinese submarines, new aircraft carrier, us vs china military, usa vs china military ====================================================================================================== DISCLAIMER: Each and every content used in this video is not imaginary. Protesters picketed Camp Schwab US Marine Base near Nago City, Thursday, as rallies against the relocation of the US Marine Corps Futenma Air Station to the area continue. Demonstrators chanted slogans against the plans and held placards decrying the US military presence as they lined the road leading to the marine base in Henoko. Over the next five years, a new facility will be built in the waters off the coast from Camp Schwab as part of the relocation of the Futenma Air Station to the Henoko area on the island of Okinawa. The move has been received with continuous opposition from locals and Okinawa Governor Takeshi Onaga. The protest comes after a resolution was passed by an Okinawa Prefectural Assembly committee on Tuesday demanding legal action against the base’s relocation. The entire assembly will vote on the issue on Friday, which could lead to legal action against Tokyo for pushing through the project. India has had a military cooperation agreement with the Seychelles since 2003 and the deal would give it use of the Assumption base for up to 30 years. Indian soldiers would be deployed on the island and help train Seychelles' troops. A plan for India to build a military base on an outlying Seychelles island has won favour among the archipelago nation's politicians, but some hostility from its own people. The base on Assumption Island is to be funded by India and shared by the two countries' militaries. The deal was struck in principle in 2015 during a visit to the Seychelles by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, but progress since has been slow. The government of the Seychelles, based in Victoria on Mahe Island 1,135 kilometres (705 miles) northeast of Assumption, says the base will help coastguards to patrol its 1.3 million square kilometre (500,000 square mile) exclusive economic zone for illegal fishing, drug trafficking and piracy. Currently, the remote coral island has a tin shack post office, an air strip and almost no people, it is less than seven kilometres long, has a high point just 30 metres (100 feet) above sea level and is covered in bird excrement. But its location lends it strategic importance for monitoring shipping in the Mozambique Channel. Small island, big investment India plans to invest $550 million (446 million euros) in building the base to help it ensure the safety of its vessels in the southern Indian Ocean. It also says the base will be a resource for other shipping nations. "Assumption is very close to the Mozambique Channel where much of the international trade is transiting, and not just for India but for other countries as well, and our interest is that our trading vessels are safe," said India's ambassador in Victoria, Ausaf Sayeed. India has had a military cooperation agreement with the Seychelles since 2003 and the deal would give it use of the Assumption base for up to 30 years. Indian soldiers would be deployed on the island and help train Seychelles' troops. But ratification of the 2015 agreement has been slow with a new, amended pact only signed between the two countries on January 27. "What we did in relation to the first agreement is to clarify some points that could give rise to litigation," said Frank Ally, the Seychelles' attorney general. He said these included a prohibition on any nuclear uses of the island or weapons storage. India is also not allowed to use Assumption in war. Seeking to allay fears the government has made available to the public some details of the classified defence agreement. Weekly protests Nevertheless, the project remains controversial with small weekly demonstrations in the capital. Indian presence in the Seychelles is a sensitive matter. Some fear an influx of Indian workers who, they say, might come to dominate the economy, while others consider a foreign power building a military base an affront to sovereignty and national pride. "The Seychelles can make its own military base, I am against any foreign military presence!" said Guilmert Corgat, a businessman in Victoria who attended a town hall meeting on the plan in late February. "If this deal is so good for the Seychelles, why don't we hold a referendum?" asked Alexia Amesbury, a lawyer. During the discussions foreign minister Barry Faure was forced to insist the government was not giving the island away, "because Assumption belongs to the Seychelles". Opponents of the plan also cite Assumption's relative proximity to Aldabra atoll, a UNESCO World Heritage Site that is home to the world's largest population of giant tortoises. Environmentalists worry about the possible impact of a large military presence so close to an ecosystem that has survived precisely because of the absence of people. Despite the dissenting voices, Sayeed remains positive that parliament will ratify the new agreement when it reopens this month. With the opposition, like the government, broadly in favour of the base, though against too many concessions to India, the diplomat's optimism may be well-founded. Mid shot, buildings STORYLINE: Kyrgyzstan's government has submitted a draft bill to parliament that would close a US base that is key to the American military campaign in Afghanistan. A Kyrgyz decision to end the US use of Manas, just outside the Central Asian nation's capital of Bishkek, could have potentially far-reaching consequences for US and NATO operations in Afghanistan. It would also mark a victory for Moscow in its battle for influence in what it considers its historic backyard. The move came a day after President Kurmanbek Bakiyev said the base would be closed, and shortly after after Russia agreed to provide Kyrgyzstan with 2 (b) billion US dollars in loans plus 150 (m) million US dollars in aid. The possibility poses a serious challenge to the new US administration and President Barack Obama's plan to send up to 30-thousand more American forces into Afghanistan this year. General David Petraeus, commander of US forces in Afghanistan and Iraq, said during a trip to Central Asia last month that Manas airbase would be key to plans to boost US troop presence in Afghanistan in the coming months. The lease deal obliges Kyrgyzstan to give the US 180 days notice to clear the base. The US Embassy in Kyrgyzstan said no formal notice had been delivered, and said talks on the issue would continue. The United States set up the Manas base in Kyrgyzstan and a base in neighbouring Uzbekistan after the September 2001 attacks on the US, to back operations in Afghanistan. Uzbekistan expelled US troops from the base on its territory in 2005 in a dispute over human rights issues, leaving Manas as the only US military facility in the immediate region. Meanwhile on Wednesday, in Moscow, President Dmitry Medvedev said seven former Soviet nations including Russia are set to form a joint rapid reaction force. Medvedev said Russia, Armenia, Belarus and four Central Asian nations - Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan - had reached the agreement to form a new security force during a summit of the Moscow-dominated Collective Security Treaty Organisation on Wednesday. The force would add a military dimension to the Moscow-dominated alliance, which so far has served mostly as a forum for consultations. (24 Jun 2000) English/Nat XFA A U-S Federal judge has refused to stop the American Navy's plans to resume bombing exercises this weekend on its training ground at Vieques in Puerto Rico. But protesters on Vieques who oppose the bombing have vowed to occupy the bombing zone during the exercises. Protests were held on Vieques Friday and despite tight security, protest leaders have gone to the area where the bombing will take place. Opposition to the military exercises has mounted since news was published of the U-S Navy's plans to mount its biggest exercise since April 1999 when a bombing accident killed a civilian on the range. Five warships will fire up to 600 rounds at the range and aircraft will drop up to 800 dummy bombs during five days of exercises. Protesters took to the streets after U-S District Judge Juan Perez Gimenez said Friday the exercises did not pose any danger to the people of Vieques But islanders say five decades of live bombing have caused environmental damage, stunted tourism, destroyed fishing grounds and led to a high cancer rate. There was tight security around the bombing zone which takes up about a third of Vieques. Soldiers and protesters kept watch on each other ahead of the military exercises which will begin this weekend. SOUNDBITE: (English) "Over here we have no weapons and not only is it a small island but we through civil disobedience have been trying to tell the world that they should put a stop to the genocide that it being carried out by the United state marines, navy and army, their forces. We have in many ways tried to communicate this message to President Clinton and to the people of the United States. They do not want to hear us. We will not be surprised if they start bombing but if they do they are going to be bombing with us inside the bombing zone." SUPER CAPTION: Miguel Villa, Resistence leader In May 223 protesters were forcibly removed from the Navy range by 300 U-S marshals and F-B-I agents. The U-S Navy says Vieques, a small island off the eastern tip of Puerto Rico, is vital to its national security. The Navy says it's the only place where the Atlantic Fleet can hold simultaneous air, land and sea training in exercises. The Russian military holds negotiations with the Egyptian authorities on rental of a Soviet military air base in the Egyptian town of Sidi Barrani. Restoration of the base will evidence a new stage of cooperation between the two countries as well as help to settle geopolitical tasks in the Middle East and the North of Africa. The talks on Russia’s participation in renewal of the Egyptian military facilities on the coast of the Mediterranean Sea are being held successfully. As a source in the foreign policy circles said, ‘in case both parties agree upon the terms, the base may start operating as early as in 2019. Cairo is ready to agree upon its rental by Moscow to solve major geopolitical tasks, which meet the interests of Egypt as well. According to agreements that have been already reached, Russia will deliver equipment by sea. Moreover, a permanent military contingent of Russia will be deployed’. Thus, Russia will return to Sidi Barrani after 45 years. Until 1972 the Soviet Navy used the base in this Egyptian town to monitor the US Navy. CHINA in Total SHOCK as INDIA gets New Military Base in OMAN . PM Modi's Oman visit Indian Navy can now access Duqm port . NEW DELHI The Indian Navy will now be able to use the facilities at Duqm port in Oman following the signing of a pact between the two countries, during Prime Minister Narendra Modi's visit, that will give India a foothold in its extended neighbourhood. The port will act as India's entry point for wider West Asia and Eastern Africa, a welcome development at a time when China has deployed strategic assets in the Indian Ocean Region, experts said. India's interest in Duqm port, which is merely at a 40-minute flight distance from Mumbai, has been necessitated by the fact that the Chinese navy has increased its activities in the western part of the Indian Ocean Region besides setting up a military base in Djibouti. Among eight agreements that were signed on Sunday during Modi's visit To Muscat was a memorandum of understanding (MoU) between the defence ministries of the two countries on the provision of facilities for the visit of Indian military vessels to Duqm port in terms of services and the use of the dry-dock for maintenance. Another MoU was signed between India's Institute for Defence Studies and Analyses and Oman's National Defense College. An Indo-Omani joint statement issued at the end of Modi's visit reflected growing maritime cooperation. "The two sides agreed to enhance cooperation to strengthen maritime security in the Gulf and the Indian Ocean regions, vital for the security and prosperity of both countries." Oman is strategically situated mid-way between India's western coast and Africa's eastern coast and has been an old maritime power in the region whose reach stretched from modern-day Pakistan to the eastern part of Africa. India is eyeing partnership with Oman as well as France for its strategic outreach in the western part of the Indian Ocean Region. "Oman is currently developing Duqm port along with a special economic zone as a regional economic hub. India has shown interest to participate in the Duqm port complex. This will give India greater access to West Asia where it has stepped up strategic and economic engagements," Oman's ambassador to India, Hamed Saif Al-Rawahi, had told ET ahead of PM Modi's visit. "There are the booming markets of the Indian subcontinent and East Africa that also fall within Duqm's convenient reach. Most of the ports on the west coast of India and east coast of Africa suffer perennial congestion problems, thereby opening up opportunities for Duqm as a transhipment centre catering to these markets," he had said. Oman is India's oldest defence partner in West Asia and an ally in its anti-piracy campaign. India had supplied rifles to Oman, which in turn had sent support for India's fleet of Hawk aircraft. During Manohar Parrikar's visit to Muscat as defence minister the two countries had agreed to work together on boosting defence, crime prevention at sea, maritime issues and a flight safety information exchange. India is also considering setting up defence production facilities in Oman. The Arab country has given berthing rights to Indian Navy vessels, which have been used for anti-piracy operations in the Gulf of Aden. In addition, the Indian Air Force has been holding joint exercises with its counterpart in Oman. Situated on the south-eastern seaboard of Oman, overlooking the Arabian Sea and the Indian Ocean, the Duqm port is rapidly transforming maritime landscape in West Asia. According to experts, it has the potential to develop into one of the region's largest ports in the long run. At the heart of its appeal, they said, is its strategic geopolitical location. Thank you for watching. Have a nice day! My channel: https://goo.gl/vCXdrM ABOUT: Australia's geopolitical tensions with China are set to escalate as it plans to build a new military base in Papua New Guinea that can also host American warships.Six weeks before he was overthrown in a Liberal Party leadership coup, former prime minister Malcolm Turnbull discussed with this PNG counterpart Peter O'Neill the idea of re-developing the Lombrum Naval Base on Manus Island. The political leaders met in Brisbane on July 11, with The Australian learning Mr O'Neill was 'very interested' in the idea and had even put his support in writing. The base, run by Australia for 25 years until PNG gained independence in 1975, would be capable of hosting Australian and American warships on Manus Island, where asylum seekers are sent for processing. The Australian Defence Force is understood to be conducting a scoping study of the area, with News Corp Australia reporting the former Turnbull government had wanted a deal signed with PNG before November's Asia-Pacific Economic Co-operation summit, which is being held in Port Moresby.Chinese President Xi Jinping is hosting a special APEC conference for regional leaders in the PNG capital. The idea of stationing Australian and American naval warships in the area is set to infuriate China, with Beijing in 2011 expressing diplomatic concern about U.S.marines being stationed in Darwin. While China is Australia's biggest two-way trading partner, Australia is suspicious about Chinese espionage activity, banning telecommunications firm Huawei from bidding for the National Broadband Network. In July, Mr Turnbull signed a deal for Australia to fund a $136 million internet cable between Australia, PNG and the Solomon Islands in a bid to stop Huawei from doing so.He attended the State of Origin with Mr O'Neill and Solomon Islands PM Rick Houenipwela as part of the diplomatic charm offensive, as the Queensland Maroons defeated the New South Wales Blues 18-12.Mr Turnbull's successor Prime Minister Scott Morrison was tight-lipped about the possible new naval base on Thursday.'The Pacific is a very high-priority area of strategic national security interest for Australia. We work very closely with all our Pacific partners,' he told the Seven Network.'But I'm not going to comment on speculation on national security issues, that would not be appropriate.

India Plans Purchasing Weapons To Protect Air Force Bases Across Country. India’s Defense Ministry issued a request for information (RFI) from arms manufacturers, aiming to beef up the Garud Commando Force, a special unit of the Indian Air Force (IAF). Suppliers will have to respond to the IAF by July 8. The RFIs suggest the IAF will recruit 8,000-10,000 more people for the Garud force to protect 54 IAF base stations. The terror attack on Pathankot air base last year forced India to provide advanced weapons and equipment to the IAF commandos. The request points to likely acquisition of 50-60 armored vehicles along with military equipment to protect its personnel during operations. The IAF needs a 5-meter-long vehicle with a crew capacity of six for its special forces. Among other specifications, the IAF has demanded a minimum 350-kilometer operating range with a speed of 100 kmph on a level highway. The vehicles will be designed in such a way that the Garud forces would be able to mount and fire a 5.56mm light machine gun. The IAF will also equip its commandos with 600 7.62mm rifles with sights and accessories and 200 40mm under-barrel grenade launcher compatible with it. Garud Commando Force will also receive approximate 1,800 sub-machine guns and 2,000 9mm pistols, according to the RFI issued by the Indian Air Force. air force aircraft, air force india, air force jobs, air force online, air force planes, iaf, iaf army, iaf online, indian air force, indian air force aircraft, indian air force fighter planes, indian air force planes, indian air force recruitment, indian air force strength, indian air force vacancy, indian aircraft, indian airforce com, indian fighter planes, indian force, indian military force, join indian air force, the indian air force ====================================================================================================== DISCLAIMER: Each and every content used in this video is not imaginary. CNN has reported that on Monday, Saudi Arabia, along with three other countries, cut diplomatic ties with Qatar. it called on its allies to cease all travel and transport with its neighbor. However, one of Saudi Arabia biggest allies, is the United States, which also happens to maintain its biggest concentration of military personnel in the Middle East at Qatar's Al Udeid Air Base. The sprawling base 20 miles southwest of the Qatari capital of Doha is home to some 11,000 US military personnel. The US Combined Air Operations Center (CAOC) at Al Udeid Air Base, Qatar, provides command and control of air power throughout Iraq, Syria, Afghanistan, and 17 other nations. The base, which boasts one of the longest runways in the Persian Gulf at 12,500 feet, is a strategically important facility that can accommodate up to 120 aircraft. In 2016, the base was used as staging ground to fly B-52 airstrikes against ISIS targets in Iraq and Syria. Early in the Afghanistan campaign, F-16 fighters and E-8C Joint Stars reconnaissance planes that monitor ground units were based there, along with refueling tankers. According to a 2014 congressional research paper by Middle Eastern specialist, Christopher M. Blanchard, Qatar invested over $1 billion to construct the air base during the 1990s, despite having only a small air force of its own at the time. This in turn, "facilitated gradually deeper cooperation with US military forces." http://www.cnn.com/2017/06/05/middleeast/qatar-us-largest-base-in-mideast/index.html http://www.wochit.com This video was produced by YT Wochit Vote It using http://wochit.com

Why is China anxious about Indian investment and possible military base in Sabang port in Indonesia? Indonesia permitted India to invest in Sabang port, which is located near the strategic and vital shipping channel – the Strait of Malacca. Does China feel threatened by Indian presence at the Sabang port with which it can control the Strait of Malacca? Indian PM Narendra Modi departed for a five-day visit to Indonesia, Malaysia and Singapore to consolidate India’s relations with three vital partners in Southeast Asia. PM Modi’s first stop will be Indonesia, the largest country in the region which has close maritime and trade links with India. One of the most important highlights of the visit could be the Indian access to the Sabang Island, which lies in close proximity to the Malacca Strait. Sabang Port and Strait of Malacca :: From an economic and strategic outlook, the Strait of Malacca is considered as one of the most important shipping lanes in the world. The Strait of Malacca is the primary shipping lane between the Indian and the Pacific Ocean which links major powers like China, Japan, India, South Korea, Malaysia etc. Close to 100,00 vessels pass through it every year making it the busiest strait in the world. As India is planning a strategic investment plan for Sabang port in Indonesia, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s forthcoming visit to Indonesia will be keenly observed by China. “Luhut Pandjaitan, Indonesia’s coordinating minister for maritime affairs, was quoted by the Indian Media – Hindustan Times that “the port’s 40-meter depth is suitable for all kinds of vessels, including submarines.” China Warns India on Military Ties with Indonesia :: Chinese Global Times in an editorial noted that China has always kept a positive outlook toward India’s overseas port investments, but that doesn’t mean Beijing will turn a blind eye on India’s military collaboration with Indonesia. The Chinese Media stated that – China’s extensive use of the Malacca Strait means its economic and energy security gets threatened if India builds a military base at Sabang port in Indonesia. The Global Times warned that If New Delhi actually planned to get military access to the strategic island of Sabang, it might get entangled in a conflict with China and will eventually regret its decision. The Chinese media indirectly hinted that Sri Lanka’s signed a 99-year lease agreement with China for the Hambantota port that gave Beijing a trade outpost in the Indian Ocean. China has heavily invested in ports near the Indian Ocean to boost international trade but none of the ports has been used for military missions. India’s investment in Sabag port in Indonesia is welcome, but if this collaboration is meant for military use, then China will take countermeasures which includes adopting similar policies in the Indian Ocean. Indian PM Modi’s visit to Indonesia will be closely monitored by China. Chinese Media concludes by stating that “Hopefully, India and Indonesia can steer clear of any military cooperation”, as India would not be interested to get involved in an arms race with China. South China Sea - China Alarming Construction Ready For Full Military Use China completed construction of several aircraft hangars, naval base, air base, missile defense facilities and radar on islands in South China Sea. According to US base think tank, China now able to deploy combat aircraft and mobile missile launchers to disputed islands at any time. Each of the islands has new aircraft hangers, capable of holding 24 military aircraft, as well as several larger hangars that can hold bombers or surveillance planes. The islands in the study are Subi, Mischief and Fiery Cross reefs that are part of the Spratly chain. This will allow Chinese military aircraft to operate over nearly the entire South China Sea. Lately, there is no reaction from the Trump’s administration on the territorial disputes in the South China Sea. South China Sea militarisation by China is a Trump’s administration concern, but the administration plan on pursuing a constructive relationship with China, which prevent it from taking any serious action against China. However, the administration stress the important of the Freedom of Navigation, as demonstrated by its show of force on the deployment of its most advanced Carrier Strike Group, including USS Carl Vinson (CVN 70) to patrol inside the South China Sea, within 12 nautical miles of China’s reclaimed reefs. This video shows you that With Strong Navy And Army Base, 'Andamans Should Be Developed As Commercial Hub'. The earliest archaeological evidence of Andaman and Nicobar Islands, which is one of the seven union territories of India, goes back about 2,200 years. Andaman and Nicobar Islands are a group of islands at the juncture of the Bay of Bengal and Andaman Sea. The territory is separated from Thailand and Myanmar by the Andaman Sea. The Andaman and Nicobar Command is the only Tri-service theater command of the Indian Armed Forces, based at Port Blair. ANDAMANS AS COMMERCIAL HUB Expressing confidence in the "adequate" security arrangements in the Andaman and Nicobar islands, a senior Indian Navy officer has said that the authorities should focus on developing the archipelago as a commercial hub. "We should look at developing Andaman and Nicobar commercially, specially (its capital) Port Blair as it is central to the islands. A lot of tourism related activities are happening already in the Andamans," Vice Admiral HCS Bisht, chief of the Eastern Naval Command, said at a workshop on Monday. The workshop on 'India's Maritime Connectivity: Importance of the Bay of Bengal' was organised by the Observer Research Foundation in the city. "The security arrangement in the island is in place. We have strong Navy and Army base in the islands. Adequate amount of surveillance and patrolling is done in the adjoining Indian Ocean region (IOR) by the Indian Navy, Army, Air Force and Coast Guard forces." "So, if Andaman and Nicobar is developed as a commercial hub in future, we would have the security arrangement to protect it," Bisht said. SINGAPORE AND ANDAMANS To buttress his point, the Vice Admiral referred to Singapore. He said the sovereign city-state which is also an archipelago, has seen immense development as a commercial hub in Southeast Asia. "The geographical location of the (Andaman and Nicobar) Islands provides it an excellent advantage. It can become a trans-shipment hub like Singapore in the future," Bisht said. "Singapore is a major port, where major ships come because of its geographical location and from there on smaller ships are used to carry the cargo around the region. From that point of view, the Andaman and Nicobar provides a much better geographical advantage," he explained. indian navy, indian navy ships, indian navy news, navy india, the indian navy, indian navy information, indian navy chief, indiannavy, indian navy submarines, indian navy latest news, indian navy strength, indian navy officer, indian navy army, indian navy aircraft carrier, india insurance, indian navy ships names, indian navy jobs, indian army navy, indian navy posts, indian submarines Source: https://goo.gl/9H4xmQ ====================================================================================================== DISCLAIMER: Each and every content used in this video is not imaginary. The Egyptian-Eritrean Military Axis Might Make The Horn Of Africa Crisis Explode Egypt’s purported military deployment to Eritrea is threatening to spark a multinational conflagration in the powder keg Horn of Africa region. This part of the world has always been tense and at risk of war, especially in the past few years ever since Ethiopia began constructing the Grand Renaissance Dam on the Blue Nile River. The Horn of Africa became a zone of competition in the “Gulf Cold War” following the GCC and Egypt’s campaign against Qatar last year, and it’s this combination of water wars and proxy wars that makes the region so volatile. The latest developments concern Egypt’s purported dispatch of troops to the western Eritrean base of Sawa near the Sudanese border, which in turn prompted Khartoum to recall its ambassador from Cairo, officially declare a “potential security threat from Egypt and Eritrea” in the area, and fortify the frontier. Egypt and Eritrea both deny that any troops were sent to Sawa, but some reports indicate that this move was actually in response to Turkey clinching a deal to develop the Sudanese island of Suakin near Port Sudan late last year which some observers suspect to be a front for secretly building a naval base in the Red Sea. Ankara and Cairo have been at odds with one another ever since President Sisi’s 2013 coup against pro-Turkish Muslim Brotherhood leader Mohammed Morsi and President Erdogan’s apparent sponsorship of this same organization that’s banned in Egypt and most of the GCC states. Both parties evidently have interests in the Horn of Africa and now seem to be countering one another in this strategic space. President Erdogan’s visit to Khartoum late last year was recently followed by Eritrean President Isaias Afwerki’s trip to Cairo last week where he met with his Egyptian counterpart and both leaders pledged to “support the security and stability in the region”, hinting that the rumors about the development of fast-moving military ties between the two allies in the War on Yemen might actually be true. If so, then this would be a very destabilizing event because of Eritrea’s history of supporting armed militants in the surrounding states, including the Al Shabaab terrorist group that resulted in the country’s ongoing sanctioning by the UNSC since 2009. Sudanese President Omar al-Bashir told his Russian counterpart in late November that the US wants to divide his country into five parts, and it appears as though he’s now convinced that Eritrea is tasked with executing this scenario just like it’s already trying to do against Ethiopia. Egypt, which has a serious bone to pick with Ethiopia over the Grand Renaissance Dam and is presently experiencing very strained relations with Sudan over this issue and Khartoum’s port deal with Ankara, likely sees a strategic opportunity to “kill three birds with one stone” by destabilizing its two regional rivals while establishing a military patronage relationship with an envisioned client state crucially located at the mouth of the Bab el Mandab chokepoint. Egypt and Eritrea are now aligning against Ethiopia and Sudan, with Saudi Arabia and the UAE supporting the former pair while Qatar and Turkey back the latter one. China has a naval base in nearby Djibouti while Russia was offered one in Port Sudan, so both multipolar Great Powers have a stake in the peaceful outcome of this developing crisis and could potentially help mediate a solution to it just like how Beijing suggested it could do last summer between Eritrea and Djibouti. subscribe: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC9IFRHTtYJFjhI5fBrLIJiQ Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/DNA997

China in Total Shock as India gets Military Base in Singapore . Navy gets access to Singapore’s Changi naval base . NEW DELHI : In a strategic move that is likely to irk China, India and Singapore signed a bilateral agreement that will allow Indian Navy ships logistical support, including refuelling, at Singapore’s Changi naval base located near the disputed South China Sea. Singapore also wants both sides to engage more activity in the Strait of Malacca through which China’s oil and natural gas imports pass. The agreement was announced during a joint press briefing on the second Defence Ministers’ Dialogue between India and Singapore, which ended here on Wednesday. Signing of the India-Singapore Bilateral Agreement for Navy Cooperation was the key development at the meeting, defence minister Nirmala Sitharaman said. It looks at increased cooperation in maritime security, joint exercises, temporary deployment from each other’s naval facilities and mutual logistics support. When asked about details of the pact, Singapore defence minister Ng Eng Hen said: “We will be comfortable and encourage Indian Navy ships to visit the Changi naval base more often. The naval agreement has provision for mutual logistics support. We will exercise and patrol in your waters as do in ours. We try to economise and support each other.” The base, which was opened in 2004, is located in the eastern part of Singapore. Furthermore, while recognising the Strait of Malacca and Indian Ocean as impor tant Sea Lanes of Communication (SLOCs), Ng said it “makes sense for countries to cooperate not only to establish maritime security but to maintain freedom of navigation. Because we know it is the lifeline for economies”. He said: “I think I speak on behalf of both countries. We want to see more participation and activity in both Strait of Malacca and Andaman Sea.” This would mean institutionalising mechanisms, where there are more bilateral and multilateral exchanges in these regions. The naval logistics agreement is the first for India with a country located east of Malacca. The nearest Indian base is in the Andaman and Nicobar Islands. The Changi base will therefore enhance the navy’s operational reach, keeping in mind that the navy from June this year began its Malacca patrol to protect the SLOCs. India has also conducted the SIMBEX exercise with Singapore at the naval base and in the South China Sea. Thanks for watching. Subscribe to our channel. Thanks for watching. For story suggestions please contact email@example.com The U.S. has been working on one of its largest military overseas construction projects at Camp Humphreys in South Korea, located about 50 miles south of Seoul. Once the $11 billion expansion is finished, the installation will house a majority of the approximately 30,000 U.S. troops in South Korea, the Daily Beast reported. The 3,454-acre base is the size of a small city. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Next Animation Studio’s News Direct service provides daily, high-quality, informative 3D news animations that fill in for missing footage and help viewers understand breaking news stories or in-depth features on science, technology, and health. Some credible witnesses have identified a Deep Underground Military Base at Dulce, New Mexico as the primary location of a Beyond-Black alien-human hybrid breeding program. This Dulce, New Mexico DUMB operates under authority of the USG but is under the actual day-to-day control of private offshore foreign defense contractors of the Secret Shadow Government (SSG). This Beyond-Black program is a joint venture between aliens and MJ-12, which is the core controlling group of the Secret Shadow Government. It is believed by some who have been “involved” and have been “allowed” to “leak information” that this secret alone is the initial reason for the SSG and the main reason for the creation of the US National Security State. Main link to article. http://www.veteranstoday.com/2013/08/04/secret-space-war-vii-joint-usgalien-hybrid-program/ Note: This admittedly is a very strange incredulous article for the most part and unless folks have already spent some time learning about the claimed secret space wars of the USG and the SSG, they are probably wasting their time reading this article.

Washington will not allow Europe, "or anyone else," to circumvent US sanctions against Iran - said John Bolton, an adviser to the US president for national security. While commenting on the EU plans of protection of European companies from US sanctions - John Bolton said that Washington intends to keep an eye on this EU initiative "which has not yet been established and has no date of creation" - RIA NEWS reports while citing Axios and the Associated Press. John Bolton assured that Washington will implement their sanctions against Iran ''aggressively and unshakably". He added that the international payment system SWIFT should "follow the example of companies that are already reviewing their relations with Iran." Russian Parliament voted in support of the amendment made by Vladimir Putin regarding the pension reform - it reduces the retirement age for women down to 60 years, Interfax reports. In the original draft of the bill, initiated by the Russian government, it was proposed to increase the retirement age for men by 5 years and for women by 8 years. Vladimir Putin proposed to make the increase equal - 5 years for all. The representatives of the secretariat of the 39th session of the UN Human Rights Council tried to prohibit the Russian human rights activists from saying the word "Crimea" during their report in the organization. This was reported by RIA NEWS with a reference to the head of the working group on international legal issues that permanently represent the Republic of Crimea under the Crimean President Alexander Molokhov. The Council Secretariat insisted that the Russian side won't use the word "Crimea" in their report - only ''the Autonomous Republic of Crimea'', and after a comma - ''Ukraine'', he explained. Later, the issue was resolved, but according to Alexander Molokhov - he didn't know whether or not he or his colleagues would be given the chance to speak, until the last moment. The construction of a US military base in Poland will require military counter-measures from Russia, the Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Alexander Grushko announced. Russia will need to do "military precautions that will reliably guarantee our security in the new conditions" - the diplomat explained. Alexander Grushko underlined that Russia "has various opportunities, including cheap ones, to enhance our security" - RIA NEWS reports. He reminded that 'Russia-NATO Founding Act' "directly prohibits the deployment of military forces on a permanent basis''. Thus, the construction of the new base will "destroy" the Russia-NATO act. James Mattis, the US Secretary of Defense, announced the nuclear threat from Russia as the main danger for the USA, TASS reports. He added that, to a lesser extent, the US are concerned about the nuclear threats from China and the DPRK. He explained that this issue is relevant, and therefore it is necessary to take appropriate measures. "We need the containment, because a nuclear war can't be won, thus it must never start in the first place" - added the head of the Pentagon.
