How much vitamin C is too much? One thing to remember is that if you have been taking the right forms of vitamin C, there has been no one who has come down with vitamin C toxicity, no adverse health claim has been accepted by all natural and allopathic health professionals, no child has been hospitalized because of vitamin C overdose, like other forms of synthetic drugs. ==================================== Support Us On Patreon: http://bit.ly/2wFag54 ==================================== The fact is we have to look at what time of vitamin C we are talking about. We can’t just generalize all vitamin C in one group and say well taking too much vitamin C is not good for you. Are we talking about synthetic forms of vitamin c, are we talking about fruit based vitamin C, like acerola, kiwi and oranges, are we talking about vitamin c supplementations that come with other additives and preservatives? In today’s over-toxify world, with its pesticides, aluminum , GMOs, plastics and the rest of it taking high doses of a powerful anti-oxidant like vitamin C on a daily bases not only is NOT harmful but is absolutely essential. We can group vitamin c into 3 different categories. I will go over them and leave the links in the description for you guys to check out. ==== 1. Oral Vitamin C in Pure Powder ===== Sodium Ascorbate: http://amzn.to/1U5wTsJ Ascorbic Acid: http://amzn.to/1pA5d2E Almost all of vitamin C supplements will have about 20% absorption at best. There are two forms of vitamin C that have been extensively researched and have enough clinical evidence to prove that they absolutely safe with no harmful side effects when taken in oral forms. And these are Asocrbic acid and Sodium ascorbate, which I recommend.... and you will have no health problems with them. You see, vitamin c in general is a water soluble supplement that means your guts can only retain a certain amount at a given time. If you take too much of it at one time it will just pass through your guts as loose stool which is medically called “vitamin C flush”. Everyone has a different vitamin C flush. Someone may hit flush at 5 Hitting vitamin C flush is not a bad thing, actually Dr. Thomas Levy (one of the world’s leading Vitamin C researcher) says that is not necessary a bad thing, it’s actually a good thing. He recommends people hit vitamin C flush a couple of times a week to clean out their guts. Basically you want to take either Ascorbic Acid or Sodium Ascorbate in pure powder form with no additives, colors or sweeteners. Just look at the back of the product and make sure that it’s just that. The products I use are usually from Now foods, which I found to be relatively of quality. I personally recommend Sodium asocrobate over Ascorbic Asci, simply because it an alkaline form of vitamin C, and it lasts in the blood stream about 3 times longer. Start with a couple of grams in water or a juice and build up after a few hours or day by day until you hid vitamin C flush. Don’t worry nothing will happen, you will just a get a semi-loose to loose stool or bowel movement. After you find out what flush amount simply cut back a gram or 2 and keep having your mega doses of vitamin c everyday and your body will thank you for it and you will be happier and healthier. ==== IV vitamin C ==== This is great form of vitamin C for anyone who is suffering from a chronic condition including cancer patients, heart patients, people with diabetes etc. For this form of vitamin C, the recommendation is to go see a naturopath or a medical personal who is certified to administer IV. ==== Liposomal Vitamin C === http://amzn.to/1Uj4GgS By far the best form of vitamin C is Liposomal encapsulated Vitamin C. This is a 21st century technology of turning water soluble vitamin C in to fat soluble, which has gained a lot of attention. Basically, by encapsulating water soluble vitamin C molecules in lipid (or fat) molecules, it has given us the ability to take vitamin C orally and have an amazing absorption of nearly 99%. ==== Vitamin C Safety ==== http://lpi.oregonstate.edu/mic/vitamins/vitamin-C ==== SUBSCRIBE HERE ==== https://goo.gl/RzVkxo ========================= Other inquires: different types of vitamin C, different vitamin c, different vitamin c supplements, different kinds of vitamin c, Best Type of Vitamin C, What is the Best Vitamin C, Best Form of Vitamin C, How Much Vitamin C is Too Much, Most Bioavailable Form of Vitamin C, Signs of Too Much Vitamin C, Can Too Much Vitamin C Be Harmful, How Much Vitamin C is Needed Daily, How Much Vitamin C Can I Take, Adult How Much Vitamin C A Day, Vitamin C Overdose Side Effects How much vitamin C Dr. Levy recommends

Now I'm not saying that you need to go out and take massive amounts of Vitamin C but what I do want to do is explain how Vitamin C is created in the body in most animals and how it's not created in humans, and if you understand this process and you understand the enzymatic process in which Vitamin C is created, it gives you a better understanding of how you may want to be potentially supplementing Vitamin C. If you haven't already, make sure you hit that subscribe button on my channel and also if you haven't already turn on notifications so you can make sure you know whenever I go live or whenever I post a new video. Let's get straight down to the facts on how the body works. Most people think of Vitamin C as this immune boosting vitamin or supplement that you take to help prevent you from getting sick, but the reality is, it's more than that. It's an electron donor, and what I mean by that is Vitamin C, also known as ascorbic acid, has an extra electron. It has an ability to donate over to free radicals within the body to ultimately neutralize them. You see, free radicals are the oxidative stress that is running around through your body. When we have Vitamin C in the equation, we have this extra electron that can be donated over to a free radical to ultimately render it useless, meaning we can stop those free radicals right in their tracks. Here's the interesting thing. Animals have a natural ability to create Vitamin C. Humans do not. You see, animals create Vitamin C or ascorbic acid in their livers through the combination of four different enzymes. What happens is when they're under stress or when they're under any kind of interesting situation where they have to have a big surge of Vitamin C to combat free radicals, their body will create more. If an animal is under stress, its liver or kidneys creates more Vitamin C to ultimately combat it. So we have sort of this evolutionary proof that Vitamin C does have an effect on neutralizing bad things within the body. The problem is, humans lack the ability to create that Vitamin C. If you look back at the old times, we look back at the Mayflower and Christopher Columbus and all of that stuff, people contracted scurvy. Well, the way that they contracted it was because it was a deficiency in Vitamin C because they weren't able to get it from exogenous sources. They weren't able to eat fruits and veggies when they were on ships, so therefore, they became Vitamin C deficient because their bodies couldn't synthesize it and manufacture it on their own. Now we're running into a similar situation because a lot of our fruits and vegetables are void of the nutrients that we need to get adequate amounts of Vitamin C. So of course we take Vitamin C supplements, no big deal, right? Then that leads us into megadosing Vitamin C because a lot of people have been asking me, Vitamin C, can we take it in megadoses to ultimately combat cancer, to ultimately combat illness, and what is the effect of taking it in extreme doses? Well, we have to take a look again at how it works in the animal world. You see, in the animal world, their livers are gonna produce enough Vitamin C to combat a stressful situation that is ebbing and flowing throughout the course of the day, meaning they might have a baseline level of ascorbic acid that they're making, then they get stressed out so their body creates more. Humans, we have to rely on taking it exogenously, and it's all because we lack that enzyme known as gulonolactone oxidase. Without gulonolactone oxidase, we cannot create Vitamin C. So if we take massive amounts of Vitamin C at one point in time, we are basically simulating an animal only creating extra Vitamin C at one point in time, when in reality, we need to be able to have surges of Vitamin C throughout the course of the day. 1) Blanchard J , et al. Reduce Stress and Burn Fat with Vitamin C- Thomas DeLauer Vitamin C is just one of the many BASIC vitamins that doesn't get enough attention, learn more at http://www.ThomasDeLauer.com We're always told that you can take vitamin C when you're sick or when you got a cold or when you've got the flu and it's going to help you fight the illness and get over it quicker, but no one's ever really looking outside the box and looking at what other uses we can use vitamin C for, at least in the business world for those of us that are living a high-stress life and are trying to balance work, family, health, and all that. First, let's take a little look at what vitamin C does and exactly why it can be a benefit to you in this particular case. Before I dive into vitamin C, I have to talk a little bit about cortisol, which I talk about in a lot of my videos. I talk about how cortisol stimulates the release of adrenaline, epinephrine, norepinephrine, all those hormones and those basically neurotransmitters that are going to make you in that fight or flight response. They're going to make you have to fight for something or run away and basically not be able to focus on the work that really needs to be focused on. Well, what vitamin C does is it actually blunts the cortisol, or more so, it blunts the effect of cortisol on the body. Simply by taking some vitamin C in a mega dose, your body can fight the cortisol and b in a better position to make executive decisions and to make the right progress in the gym and at home and in the kitchen. When it comes down to psychology and how you feel and how your stress levels are and how you can focus, there's even been a study out of Germany that took 1,000 test subjects, 500 of them, they were given a placebo, and the other 500 we're given high doses of vitamin C. Well, all 1,000 of those participants or those subjects were going into a public speaking arrangement. They were going into a position where they were going to be speaking in front of a lot of people, something that was going to be unnerving and stressful. The test subjects that took the vitamin C had markedly lower serum cortisol levels than the others. Now the other interesting thing is those that took vitamin C also had about a 30% reduction in their heart rate. What this means is that vitamin C had a direct correlation with reducing cortisol and reducing stress. What does this mean to you and what can you do? Simply put, mega dose some vitamin C. Take 500 milligrams with every meal, and don't worry about overdosing on it because vitamin C is water-soluble and whatever your body doesn't use, your kidneys are just going to excrete out. If you can keep a constant flow of vitamin C through the body, you're going to constantly be reducing that carbon footprint that cortisol is leaving on your body, and let's face it, as someone that's working all the time, someone that's focusing on business, someone that's trying to juggle all aspects of life, you are constantly stressed, and if you can combat it with a little bit of vitamin C, you're going to be more focused in the office, able to focus on what needs to be focused on to get the job done and to get paid. You're going to have more energy, more energy in the gym, more energy to focus on what needs to be done in the gym. You're going to feel better and not stressed out so you're going to make better decisions at home in the kitchen. Most of all, you're going to have that sense of well-being that's going to skyrocket you into a new level of success where you feel confident, feel good about yourself, and never having to focus on that multitasking mode where you can't get the job done. It has other names such as ascorbic acid and has been called the most popular supplement in the world. It is essential because humans can not synthesize vitamin C and must obtain it from their diet. I'm just going to briefly summarize the things I think are worth knowing about vitamin C. Everything I'm going to say is evidence based with research to back it up. It is well known as a vitamin supplement taken to prevent the common cold. I looked up the data for this. A 2013 meta-analysis of 29 trials (n = 11,306) showed a small but significant 8 percent reduction in the duration of cold symptoms in adults regularly taking vitamin C supplements (at least 200 mg/day). In the general population it does not reduce the risk of developing a cold or getting sick. It does appear to have a protective effect in highly active individuals. In other words, the evidence is not strong that vitamin C is dramatically helpful in preventing or treating the common cold in most people. Vitamin C has not been shown to reduce the risk of developing cancer, cardiovascular disease or coronary heart disease, cataracts or macular degeneration SOURCES citric fruits, kiwi fruits, apples, vegetables, potatoes, leafy greens, and fortified cereals RECOMMENDED DAILY ALLOWANCE Males 90 mg/day Females 75 mg/day Should not exceed 2000 mg/day Vitamin C, also known as ascorbate, ascorbic acid, dehydroascorbic acid. It is a well known antioxidant. It has been associated with the common cold (acute coryza, adenovirus), head cold, nasopharyngitis, rhinopharyngitis, rhinovirus, scurvy, URI or upper respiratory infection. It is used by bodybuilders and weight lifters as a recovery supplement, it may help boost the immune system, helps with collagen synthesis, muscle building.

Vitamin-C is probably one of the most talked about vitamins around, yet almost one third of Americans aren’t consuming enough! A potent antioxidant, Vitamin-C known to fight free radicals in the body and plays a vital role in overall health. Concerned you might be Vitamin-C deficient? Here are some signs you should be watching for: 1.Slow Wound Healing If you notice your cuts and scrapes are slow to heal, have a closer look at your diet. As Vitamin-C is essential to the formation of collagen in the skin – a new connective tissue that binds a healing wound, a lack will lead to slow healing. Along with playing a role in collagen formation in healing wounds, Vitamin-C acts as a powerful antioxidant and immune-system booster – both of which encourage faster healing. 2.Dry or Splitting Hair and Nails A shiny head of hair and strong nails can often be a good indicator of a balanced-diet. Likewise, a lackluster mane that is dry and splitting may highlight a problem. Because hair is a non-essential tissue, nutrients such as Vitamin-C are sent to more important organs and tissues first, before making their way to the hair. So if you have less than ideal levels of the vitamin, you may find your hair is suffering. Furthermore, Vitamin-C is vital for the absorption of iron – a deficiency of which can cause chronic hair loss and slow hair growth, along with brittle and concave nails. 3.Swollen and Painful Joints Pain and swelling of the joints caused by inflammatory arthritis may be another sign you need to overhaul your diet. A 2004 study, conducted in Great-Britain, found that people who had low levels of Vitamin-C were 3-times more likely to develop rheumatoid arthritis than those whose diets included foods rich in the vitamin. 4.Swollen, Bleeding or Inflamed Gums Oral-health problems, like swollen or bleeding gums or recurrent mouth ulcers, are often linked to suboptimal levels of Vitamin-C. Again, collagen is important as it supports the gums. It’s estimated that gums turn over at least 20% of their collagen every day, meaning regular hits of Vitamin-C are vital for good teeth and gums. Low levels of the vitamin are linked with an increased risk of gum-disease which can range from simple gum inflammation to major soft tissue damage! 5.Poor Immune Function The immune-system, our body’s protection against infection and disease, is strongly influenced by the intake of nutrients, particularly Vitamin-C. Several cells in our immune-system need the vitamin to perform their tasks so naturally a deficiency leads to a reduced resistance against certain pathogens. Getting enough Vitamin-C means that our immune system will be in tip-top shape to reduce the risk, severity and duration of certain infectious diseases. The National Institutes of Health Office of Dietary Supplements recommends that men over the age of 18 get 90-mg of Vitamin-C a day from their diet, while women need 75-mg. Foods contain high levels of Vitamin-C are Sweet red pepper, Orange juice, Grapefruit juice, Kiwifruit, broccoli And strawberries. The RDA for vitamin C is enough to prevent scurvy, but not enough to prevent heart attacks, strokes, cancer and many infectious diseases. According to the Linus Pauling Institute, we should raise the RDA from 70 mg in women and 90 mg in men to 200 mg per day. While we could get 200 mg per day in our diets, few of us consume 5-9 servings of fruits and vegetables a day. In addition we live in a sea of toxins that lead to considerable free radical stress, and we don't have the antioxidant reserves we need to neutralize them. The actual amount of vitamin C we need depends on our situation, which can include infections, cancer, toxic exposures, stress, insufficient sleep, diet, smoking and many other lifestyle factors. The amount we need varies from a low of 200 mg per day to more than 100,000 mg per day (100 grams). The concept of bowel tolerance is discussed as is the use of intravenous vitamin C. Do you know how to take your vitamins and supplements? Timing is everything when it comes to taking your vitamins and supplements, so we've put together a guide to help you maximize the powerful health benefits that come from taking them at the right time. Read more about this on our blog: http://blog.professionalsupplementcenter.com/the-best-time-to-take-nutritional-supplements/ Morning: -Probiotics - Probiotics are best taken in the morning on an empty stomach. • When the stomach is empty, digestive activity is quiet and stomach acid and pH balance are relatively low, increasing the chances for the helpful microorganisms to thrive. -Iron - Iron is best absorbed in the morning on an empty stomach. • Caffeine, dairy and calcium can negatively affect absorption, so it's best to avoid these for several hours after taking iron. -Multivitamins - Take multivitamins with your first meal. In the morning! • As multivitamins contain both water and fat soluble vitamins, be sure to include some healthy fats with your meal for optimal absorption. -B-Complex vitamins - Taking B vitamins with breakfast helps to boost your metabolism and convert your food into energy, which can be used throughout the day. -Vitamin C- Vitamin C is best taken in the morning to support the immune system and boost energy levels. • Vitamin C is a water soluble vitamin that lasts only a few hours in the blood stream, so if your formula recommends more than 1 tablet per day, take it in divided doses with meals to get the full benefit. Noon: -CoQ10 - CoQ10 is best taken at lunch time with a meal that contains dietary fats. • Avoid taking CoQ10 late in the day so it doesn't disturb your sleep. -Vitamin D - Vitamin D is best taken with a meal that contains dietary fats. • It's possible that Vitamin D can negatively affect sleep, so lunch time is a good time to get your Vitamin D. -Iodine - Iodine is not stored in the body, so regular intake is needed. kelp tablets taken with lunch may boost midday energy levels. -Vitamin K - Vitamin K is best absorbed along with dietary fats and ideally should be taken during the middle of the day. • Avoid taking vitamin K if you are taking Coumadin or any anticoagulant prescription drug, as Vitamin K can interfere with the effects of the medication. Night: - Fish oil - Important to support many aspects of health, fish oil is best taken with a main meal like dinner to aid absorption. -Calcium - Calcium aids nerve transmission and muscle function. To get the full benefit, take calcium in the evening along with magnesium. -Magnesium - Magnesium has a calming effect on the muscles and nervous system and may aid restful sleep. • Magnesium works synergistically with calcium, so take these together either as individual supplements or in a combined formula. In addition: -Digestive Enzymes - Digestive enzymes can be taken with any meal or within 30 minutes of your meal. Unless you have serious digestive issues, they don't necessarily need to be taken with light meals or snacks, but can be very beneficial for optimal breakdown and absorption of nutrients when taken with main meals. -Fiber - Fiber supplements may be taken either first thing in the morning or before bed. Be sure to take fiber with a full glass of water and get plenty of water during the day. Fiber can delay or reduce the absorption of certain medications so always check with your healthcare provider before taking. 15 Grams Liposomal Vitamin C for Me It has been alleged, perhaps even proven, that vitamin C supplementation beyond the normal recommended daily allowance (RDA) can be vastly supportive of overall good health and longevity. Most species in the animal kingdom will produce their own vitamin C in their bodies as an essential hormone. This is true of cats, dogs, mice and most species and without the internal production of vitamin C, all these species of animals would have greatly shortened life spans. Humans only have 3 of the 4 essential enzymes to produce vitamin C in the body internally. Sometime in the past humans have switched off the gene for gulonolactone oxidase (GLO) enzyme and thus has greatly shorten the normal lifespan of humans. It may be that the Bible, that some say embellishes facts, may be historically dead on accurate when the recorded lifespan of Noah was 950 years. Descendents after Noah, had decreased life spans with succeeding generations. Shem lived to 600 years, then Arphaxad lived to 438 and the generations later to Abraham who lived to 175 years. On to the time of Moses who lived to 120 years. This would correlate to the slow mutation and switching off of the gulonolactone oxidase (GLO) gene. Actually a small percentage of humans can still manufacture a small amount of vitamin C in the body. This further indicates that this may likely have been a normal human capability many centuries ago, as it exists presently in most of the animal kingdom. Currently humans still have the GLO gene but it is non-functioning. Scientists have estimated that with the switching back on of the GLO gene human may again live to be hundreds of years old. Some may think this could have negative social and medical implications but on the flip side it could be a major boon to prosperity due the vast amount of knowledge, experience and skills an older productive generation would possess. But aside from gene therapy, it may be that vitamin C supplementation could have some beneficial anti-aging effects on it's own. Studies have shown that vitamin C slows down the shortening of the telomeres on the DNA by over 50%. Telomeres protect the ends of the DNA and help preserve vital DNA information during cellular division. Another benefit of vitamin C is collagen production. Not only is collagen a major component of the skin, but it is present throughout the body in the tendons, ligaments and all connective tissue. Vitamin C also plays a major role as an anti-inflammatory. In the case of cigarette smokers, large amounts of vitamin C become depleted in the body from smoking cigarettes and this is a major reason for early aging and wrinkles in the face. Cigarette smokers could greatly benefit with additional vitamin C supplementation. In some ways extra vitamin C supplementation could provide some of the same benefits as hormone replacement therapy but at greatly reduced cost. 10 Warning Signs of Vitamin C Deficiency - Symptoms of Vitamin C Deficiency Diseases Vitamin C cannot be made by the human body and so is an essential component of the diet. It is needed for the health and repair of various tissues in your body, including skin, bone, teeth and cartilage. Persistent lack of vitamin C in your diet can lead to a condition called scurvy. Symptoms of scurvy include easy bruising, easy bleeding and joint and muscle pains. Vitamin C deficiency can be treated with supplements of vitamin C and a diet rich in vitamin C. What is vitamin C? Vitamins are a group of substances needed in small amounts by the body to maintain health. Vitamin C is also called ascorbic acid. It cannot be made by the human body and so is an essential component of your diet. Vitamin C is needed to make a substance called collagen which is required for the health and repair of various tissues in the body, including: • Skin • Bone • Cartilage • Ligaments and tendons • Blood vessel walls • Teeth There are various foods that are rich in vitamin C, including: • Citrus fruits like oranges, grapefruit, limes and lemons. • Berries such as blackcurrants, strawberries, raspberries, blueberries and cranberries. • Cantaloupe melon and watermelon. • Kiwi fruit. • Vegetables such as spinach, green and red peppers, tomatoes, cauliflower, cabbage, broccoli, Brussels sprouts and potatoes. What is vitamin C deficiency? Deficiency, or a lack, of vitamin C in your body happens because of a lack of sufficient amounts of vitamin C in your diet. Over time, a lack of vitamin C means that new collagen cannot be formed. This causes various tissues in your body to start to break down and the health and repair of your body become affected. Persistent (chronic) vitamin C deficiency, usually over a period of around three months or more, can lead to an illness known as scurvy. #vitamincdeficiency, #vitaminc, #deficiency, #healthcare, naturalcures, homeremedy, ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Disclaimer: The materials and the information contained on Healthy Community channel are provided for general and educational purposes only and do not constitute any legal, medical or other professional advice on any subject matter. How To Take Iron Tablet Properly | How To Reduce Iron Tablet Side Effects | Iron Supplements For Best Absorption | Iron Vitamin C | Ferrous Sulphate Hey guys! This weeks video is about how to take an iron supplement so you can get the most out of it and how to reduce the side effects associated with them. Iron supplements are prescribed or recommended when when your anaemic or at risk of developing anaemia because the iron stores in your body are low. Symptoms of iron deficiency anaemia can include: • Tiredness and lack of energy • Shortness of breath • Noticeable heartbeats (heart palpitations) • Pale skin HOW TO TAKE YOUR IRON SUPPLEMENT: To help get the best absorption of your iron supplement you should take it on an empty stomach (preferably one hour before a meal or two hours after) with a drink containing vitamin C, such as a glass of orange juice or another juice drink with added vitamin C. Absorption of iron from the gut is reduced by food, tea and milk, so these should be avoided for one hour before and after taking the iron supplement. The precise instructions for when to take your supplements will be discussed with you by the healthcare professional who prescribes them. The only factor that improves the absorption of iron is vitamin C. This is why we recommend that you take your iron supplement with a drink containing vitamin C. HOW DO IRON SUPPLEMENTS WORK: Iron is needed for the production of haemoglobin, which is an essential ingredient in red blood cells. Haemoglobin is very important as it carries oxygen from the lungs to the rest of the body. If you don’t have enough iron, you can develop anaemia, which means that you aren’t making enough red blood cells to carry oxygen around your body. You may become breathless, tired and have a lack of energy, your skin may become pale and you may have palpitations (noticeable heartbeats). COMMON SIDE EFFECTS: The following side effects are common, • Stomach upset • Nausea (feeling sick) • Stomach ache • Diarrhoea • Constipation These usually improve as your body gets used to the iron supplements. If the side effects continue to be a problem for you, contact the healthcare professional who prescribed the iron supplements and discuss the possible options I have recommended in the video with them. Iron supplements can also make your stools look darker in colour. This is completely harmless. IRON SUPPLEMENT INTERACTIONS: Some medicines are not suitable for people with certain conditions, and sometimes a medicine may only be used if extra care is taken. For these reasons, before you start taking an iron supplement it is important that your doctor or pharmacist knows: • If you are taking any other medicines. This includes any medicines you are taking which are available to buy without a prescription, as well as herbal and complementary medicines. • If you have ever had an allergic reaction to a medicine. Link to iron supplement interactions, this link is for ferrous sulphate a commonly prescribed iron supplement. If you are taking a different iron supplement, on the same page you can search the name of it and click interactions - https://bnf.nice.org.uk/interaction/ferrous-sulfate-2.html IMPORTANT INFORMATION ABOUT ALL MEDICINES: Never take more than the prescribed dose. If you suspect that you or someone else might have taken an overdose of this medicine, go to the accident and emergency department of your local hospital. Take the container with you, even if it is empty. This medicine is for you. Never give it to other people even if their condition appears to be the same as yours. If you are having an operation or any dental treatment, tell the person carrying out the treatment which medicines you are taking. If you have any questions about this medicine ask your pharmacist. How to Get the Most out of Vitamin Supplements- Thomas DeLauer: When should you take your vitamins? To learn more about how I can help you, head to http://www.ThomasDeLauer.com Many factors play a role on how available vitamins and supplements are when you take them. Fat-Soluble Vitamins: Vitamins A, D, E and K- These are stored in the liver and fat stores in your body, so you do not need to consume these every day. They are easy to get from food as they are not easily broken down by heat when cooking. These are the most important vitamins to eat with food, as the name implies, they are only absorbed and used by the body in the presence of fat. These vitamins dissolve in fat and are then delivered to the bloodstream for use in the body. Not much fat is needed, but if taking a supplement, or even eating fruits and veggies, but sure to have some fat added. If you make a healthy smoothie, add some almond butter or you favorite oil, such as macadamia nut oil. When eating salads, do not use fat-free salad dressings! Olive oil and lemon juice are great options. Be careful if you supplement these vitamins and be sure to check with your doctor if you feel you may need to do so. These vitamins are only needed in small quantities and can build up to a dangerous level if too many are taken. Vitamin D is the main fat-soluble vitamin in the US where deficiencies are common. This is due to inadequate exposure to sunlight. Fortified foods and supplements can help. Try to obtain 5-15 minutes of direct sunlight twice per week to avoid a deficiency, and if this is not possible then talk to your doctor about supplementation. Water-Soluble Vitamins: Vitamin C and B-complex vitamins are water soluble vitamins that you need to be sure to include in your diet daily. Unlike fat-soluble vitamins, these vitamins are not stored in your adipose tissue or liver and are in essence washed from your body daily. Food storage and preparation are important when making sure to get sufficient quantities of these vitamins. Deficiencies are uncommon, however vegans do not have a natural source of vitamin B12 and usually need to supplement. While deficiencies are not common, it is still important to consume daily for bodily functioning. As these vitamins dissolve in water, you do not need to take these with foods, although you can if you want to. Minerals: Calcium and Magnesium (2,4) - These are best taken with food and good to take at night. Calcium is linked to improved sleep due to its muscle relaxing abilities and magnesium has calming effects on the nervous and musculoskeletal systems. Zinc (2,4) - Take with or after meals to avoid stomach upset. Do not take with dairy as calcium hampers absorption. Also avoid taking with iron as large quantities of iron can also hurt your body’s ability to absorb zinc. Avoid taking excess zinc, which can lead to anemia through suppression of copper absorption. Iron (4) - Best to take on an empty stomach. Avoid taking with zinc, calcium and vitamin E as these can decrease absorption. If you have a sensitive stomach you may not do well when taking iron on an empty stomach. If so, take with a light meal. Probiotics (4) - Best to take 30 minutes before a meal as this is when digestive enzymes, bile salts and stomach acid are at low levels. These levels peak after a meal, so this is the worst time to take a probiotic. Fiber (2) - Be sure to separate taking fiber from other nutritional supplements as fiber can hamper mineral absorption. Fish Oil (4) – Fish Oil is best to take with food and with your multivitamin, or other fat-soluble vitamins, if you take them. The fat in the food that you eat can help to aid in digestion and absorption. As fats take a long time for your body to digest, it is best not to take fish oil pills or eat a fatty meal pre-workout. This can cause digestive upset. Multivitamins: As these contain both water- and fat-soluble vitamins, take with plenty of water and some food with fat in it, but try not to take with dairy as this can reduce your absorption of zinc. Natural vs Synthetic Ascorbic Acid Natural and synthetic L-ascorbic acid are chemically identical, and there are no known difference in their biological activity. The possibility that the bioavailability of L-ascorbic acid from natural sources might differ from that of synthetic ascorbic acid was investigated in at least two human studies, and no clinically significant differences were observed. Ascorbic Deficiency The following problems should be expected with increased incidence with severe depletion of ascorbate: disorders of the immune system such as secondary infections, rheumatoid arthritis and other collagen diseases, allergic reactions to drugs, foods and other substances, chronic infections such as herpes, or sequelae of acute infections such as Guillain-Barre and Reye's syndromes, rheumatic fever, or scarlet fever, disorders of the blood coagulation mechanisms such as hemorrhage, heart attacks, strokes, hemorrhoids and other vascular thrombosis; failure to cope properly with stresses due to suppression of the adrenal functions such as phlebitis, other inflammatory disorders, asthma and other allergies; problems of disordered collagen formation such as impaired ability to heal, excessive scarring, bed sores, varicose veins, hernias, stretch marks, wrinkles, perhaps even wear of cartilage or degeneration of spinal discs; impaired function of the nervous system such as malaise, decreased pain tolerance, and cancer from suppressed immune system and carcinogens not detoxified, etc. Note: I am not saying that ascorbate depletion is the only cause of the disorders, but I am pointing out that disorders of the systems would certainly predispose to the diseases and that these systems are known to be dependent upon ascorbate for their proper function. Not only is there the theoretical probability that these types of complications associated with infections or stresses could result from ascorbate depletion, but there was a conspicuous decrease in the expected occurrence of complications in the thousands of patients treated with oral tolerance doses or intravenous doses of ascorbate. This impression of marked decrease in these problems is shared by physicians experienced with the use of ascorbate such as Klenner and KaloKerinos. Successful Dosing For very severe illness, the dose he used was large and the most effective route was intravenous, but the intramuscular route was satisfactory. He gave at least 350 mg per kilogram of body weight (a 70 kg man is 150 pounds; thus 70 x 350 = 24,500 mg). This amount was put in 500cc of sterile water, usually dextrose, saline or Ringer's solution. It was diluted so that there was at least 18cc of diluent to each gram of C. Maintenance Doses Maintenance doses are established by the patient taking bowel tolerance doses 6 times a day for at least a week. He observes if there is any unexpected benefit such as clearing of sinuses, decrease in allergies, increase in energy, etc. Should any chronic problem be benefited, then the dose is decreased to the minimum amount producing the effect. Otherwise, a dose such as 4 to 10 grams a day divided in 3-4 doses is recommended. Patients who take ascorbate in large amounts over a long period of time should probably supplement with vitamin A and multiple mineral preparation. How to make Sodium Ascorbate Sodium Ascorbate is a buffered form of Vitamin C that consists of 90% Ascorbic Acid bound to 10% Sodium. This is the optimal form of Vitamin C for intravenous injection. So, if you have 100 grams of ascorbic acid then you would need 10 grams of baking soda, then add distilled water--so your ratio is 9:1. When adding water this mixture will begin to fizz. Mix gently until fizzing stops. What you have left is sodium ascorbate. Formula -8 grams of Ascorbic Acid -500mgs of potassium bicarb -sodium bicarbonate -magnesium citrate -30 mgs of zinc Generally, the ratios are almost 100-160:10 or thereabouts This will allow for better uptake of the minerals and the buffered C

This is especially true for “endurance” exercises such as running, jogging, biking, etc. Even though lifting weights can actually INCREASE your testosterone levels, for many people this is temporary. Afterwards, there is a big drop in testosterone. So, why does this happen? Well, there are lots of reasons. Lower blood sugar due to glucose depletion in your muscles, increases your cortisol levels and can cause a decrease in testosterone. Stress on your nervous system (CNS) due to an exhaustive or overly strenuous workout, increases your cortisol and will cause a decrease in your testosterone. Not eating well, being depleted of proteins, fats and carbohydrates, causes stress on your body and again, raises your cortisol and decreases your testosterone. As you see - the common problem is STRESS and the increase in your cortisol hormone. There are 3 ways to fix this problem and reduce this from happening: Make sure you have enough food in your body, before AND after exercise. This means have a good, light meal about an hour or two before exercise. And make sure to eat carbs and protein soon after your workout, to replenish your empty glucose and protein levels. Keep your workouts short. No more than 30-45 minutes. No more than 3-4x weekly. Don’t kill yourself. You should leave the gym feeling GOOD and refreshed. Not as if you just got done wrestling Kingkong and you’re dead tired. Take vitamins and herbs after your workout, that are clinically proven to reduce cortisol and increase your testosterone. And one of the simplest ways to do this is to take Vitamin C. Recent research shows that taking about 500 mgs of Vitamin C, before AND after your workout,1 can Decrease your stress hormone, cortisol. Dramatically reduce the drop in testosterone levels. Improve sperm count and the desire to have sex. There have been many other clinical studies showing how powerful Vitamin C is at reducing stress. Combined with other ingredients that boost your testosterone, and you have a winning formula. Personally, here’s what I’ve been doing for years. An hour before exercise: I have a light meal, maybe a protein shake. I take 1000 mgs of Buffered Vitamin C 2 pills of AlphaViril to boost my testosterone. 30-60 minutes after my workout: I have another meal, carbs + protein. More calories. I take more Vitamin C, this time 2000 mgs And I take another 2-3 pills of AlphaViril to decrease my negative hormones and boost my testosterone even further. You can find out more about how AlphaViril works, by clicking the special link to a bonus video about it. Combined with high dose Vitamin C, even 500 mgs before and after your workout, the combination makes dramatic improvements in your testosterone, muscle mass, fat loss and sex drive. Give it a try and let me know how it works for you. ======================================== Thank you for watching. Please feel free to comment, like or share with your friends. www.livingherbalfarmacy.com www.naturalherbalfarmacy.com In thebook, New Dynamics of Preventive Medicine, 1974, Dr. Pauling is quoted as to the truth of what ascorbic acid is--contrary to what most people believe. He writes: "It is worthwhile to take pure crystalline ascorbic acid. It is made from glucose (corn sugar). What is called rose hips vitamin C is same pure crystalline ascorbic acid with a pinch of rose hips powder added. It is almost impossible to buy ascorbic acid from a natural source. The rose hip and aserolebarus ascorbic acid is out of the same barrel from Hoffman-LaRoche, as the others, but with a pinch of rose hip powder." All they need to do is add Hydrochloric or sulphuric acid. Then ya have ascorbic acid. Original research of ascorbic acid was from Red Peppers. Szent-Györgyi and his research fellow Joseph Svirbely found that "hexuronic acid" was actually the thus far unidentified antiscorbutic factor, known as vitamin C. After Walter Norman Haworth had determined the structure of vitamin C, and in honour of its antiscorbutic properties, it was given the formal chemical name of L-ascorbic acid. In some experiments they used paprika as the source for their vitamin C. Also during this time, Szent-Györgyi continued his work on cellular respiration, identifying fumaric acid and other steps in what would become known as the Krebs cycle. In Szeged he also met Zoltán Bay, physicist, who became his personal friend and partner in research on matters of bio-physics. In 1937, he received the Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine "for his discoveries in connection with the biological combustion process with special reference to vitamin C and the catalysis of fumaric acid Study finds fake vitamin C may change your DNA http://haydeninstitute.com/diet-nutrition-blog/ascorbic-acid-synthetic-vitamin-c-may-damage-dna

The benefits of Vitamin C and what is the liposomal Vitamin C dosage? Liposomal vitamin C is the most effective way to deliver Vitamin C into your cells. Liposomes are a revolution in medicine and nutritional delivery. Hands down liposomes beat oral supplements and intravenous infusion. The cell wall is made of a lipid (fat). Both oral vitamin C and IV vitamin C are carried in the blood which is aqueous (water based). Water does not pass through lipids well but liposomal Vitamin C consists of lipid balls with Vitamin C hidden inside so they can pass easily through the cell (lipid) walls to deliver their pay load. One of the most important things to consider when using Vitamin C as a vitamin supplement or a therapeutic tool is: Are you receiving a sufficient dose to get the therapeutic effect? The truth is that most people do not get enough vitamin C. Why you may you not be getting enough Vitamin C - Your diet is really poor and the food you eat is old and now something that only used to be fresh food. - You are stressed and living a life that makes you tired with a lowered immune system, so your body is using all the Vitamin C so you don’t collapse - You are sick, your gut is overrun with unwanted bacteria - Your immune system is collapsing - Your skin, bones, liver and every other organ is living on borrowed time. - You are just not absorbing enough Vitamin C to make the repairs happen in your body and your body is suffering from severe oxidative stress. If you take Vitamin C as an oral supplement, you are only able to take maybe 3 or 4 gms after which you begin to experience loose stools. From that 4 gms most of it will pass through your gut so your cells may only get perhaps less than 1 gm. Receiving Vitamin C a via IV infusion is generally very expensive as a doctor or nurse needs to facilitate the infusion. Therapeutic doses may be anything from 25 to 100 gms intravenously. Add to that the transport cost and time off work and you may be looking at nearly $1000 per infusion when you add up all the costs. In addition, it might not be something that you are able to do every day which, if you are quite ill, you may need to do if you have chosen Vitamin C as a therapeutic tool. Very high doses of Vitamin C are being taken by people who are experiencing cancer, liver malfunction, skin disorders and immune overwhelm by mysterious bacteria and viruses. Gram for gram the delivery of liposomal Vitamin C into your cells far surpasses every other form of delivery. With liposomal Vitamin C you are able to deliver around 12 gms in liposomes per day which is equivalent to around 100 gms delivered intravenously. With those high levels of Vitamin C being delivered into your cells, your body can begin to repair and renew. There is also the added benefit that you can self-administer large doses of Vitamin C daily at home for a low cost. Add to this you are able to manufacture your own liposomal Vitamin C at home which brings the cost down even further and allows you to access the incredible healing effects of Vitamin C. The Math: 1 cup water (for lecithin mixture) + 1/2 cup water (for ascorbic acid mixture) + 3 tablespoons of lecithin (0.1875 cups) + 1 tablespoon of ascorbic acid (0.0625 cups, or 14.78676 grams) = 1.75 cups total volume of the mixture 0.0625 cups of ascorbic acid to 1.75 cups total volume means the mixture contains 3.6% ascorbic acid. You could also think of it as a ratio of 1 to 28. 1 tablespoon of the mixture contains 0.5281 grams of ascorbic acid. With an 80% absorption rate, your body will use about 0.42248 of those 0.5281 grams. 0.422 grams = 422 MG, more than 7 times the recommended dose from Health Canada and FDA. --------------------- RECIPE: Add 1 level tablespoon ascorbic acid (about $20 for a pound) to 1/2 cup distilled water. Blend for 1 minute in a blender. Add 3 level tablespoons of non-GMO soy lecithin or sunflower lecithin (about 1 dollar per ounce) to 1 cup distilled water. Lecithin may be granular or liquid. Blend for 1 minute in a blender. Pour both solutions into ultrasonic cleaner (about $35) for 6 minutes, stirring frequently with wooden spoon. Refrigerate. -------------- The Science: An ultrasonic cleaner vibrates liquid with high frequency sound (25 kHz - 150 kHz). The high frequency vibrations encapsulates, or coats vitamin C particles in a layer of lipid material (liposomes) allowing for easy absorption through cell walls. The encapsulation also protects the ascorbic acid from being destroyed by stomach acid. --------- Absorption Facts: 1,000 mg (1 gram) vitamin C tablet or capsule: Absorption 20% = 200 mg into blood stream 1,000 mg Liposomal Vitamin C (1 tbsp Liposomal Encapsulated C): Absorption 80% + = 800 mg + into blood stream In other words, 1 gram of liposomal encapsulated vitamin C (LEC) is equal to 4 grams + worth of regular vitamin C pills. --------- Vitamin C Facts: LEC is even more effective than ascorbic acid injections for absorption into cells. There is no toxic dose of vitamin C. Both FDA and Health Canada recommend 60 mg of vitamin C per day, which is about the content of 1 orange. Of that 60 MG, you will absorb 12 MG (20%) and the rest will be destroyed by stomach acid. With one tablespoon of LEC, you absorb about 422 MG. Since high doses of vitamin C can cause digestive problems, note that LE is an efficient and safe way to take high doses of vitamin C. You can spend $30 to $60 for 2 ounces of ready made LEC if you want, or you can make it yourself for in minutes for pennies. Mega-dosing on vitamin C has been known to cure everything from colds to cancer.
