Who’s going to profit? (Other than, of course, the millions of people suffering and dying from cancer). The pomegranate extract video I opened with can be found here: Pomegranate vs. Placebo for Prostate Cancer (http://nutritionfacts.org/video/pomegranate-vs-placebo-for-prostate-cancer/). Dr. David Samadi - Prevent Prostate Cancer With Prostate Friendly Food

02:49
According to Dr. David Samadi, millions of men are taking multivitamins & prostate health supplements daily. However, natural food, fruits & vegetables is still the best available option. In this video Dr. Samadi explores the top food for prostate cancer prevention. • Tomatoes Lycopene, a powerful antioxidant found in tomatoes, may be beneficial in the prevention of prostate cancer and reducing tumor growth among men with prostate cancer. Studies have found that men who ate a lot of raw tomato and cooked tomato products were less likely to develop prostate cancer compared with men who rarely ate such foods. • Broccoli Several studies have demonstrated a lower chance of developing prostate cancer among men who eat large amounts of broccoli or other cruciferous vegetables. Could be due to one of the phytochemicals found in these vegetables, called sulforaphane, selectively targets and kills cancer cells while leaving normal prostate cells healthy and unaffected.Green tea • Green Tea Components of green tea such as catechin, EGCG and epicatechin are all being studied for their effects on health. There is some evidence to support that these polyphenolic compounds may prevent the development of prostate cancer. • Soybean Legumes such as beans, peanuts and lentils all contain biologically active plant compounds known as phytoestrogens. Isoflavones, a phytoestrogen, may contain cancer-fighting properties, which suppress tumor growth in prostate cancer cells. • Pomegranate Much like red wine or green tea, pomegranate is a rich source of antioxidants. In a small study investigators found that drinking 8oz of pomegranate juice delayed the rise in PSA levels and increased the doubling time from 15 months to 54 months. Compounds in pomegranate fruit may exclusively target the prostate cancer cells and destroy them. • Salmon Polyunsaturated fats, like omega-3s and omega-6s, are essential fatty acids found exclusively in the diet and not synthesized by the body. Having a balance of omega-3 and omega-6 fatty acids may help prevent the development and progression of prostate cancer. Unfortunately, the traditional Western diet has lot of omega-6 fatty acids, but minimal omega-3s. In a Swedish study which followed men for over 30 years, researchers reported that those men who ate no fish were two to three times more likely to develop prostate cancer than men who consumed large amounts of fish in their diet. To increase your omega-3 intake, try eating fatty fish found in cold waters such as salmon, herring, mackerel, sardines or trout. _________________________________________________________________ Dr. David Samadi is the Chairman of Urology & Robotics Surgery at Lenox Hill Hospital. I touched previously on the prostate cancer data in one of my oldest videos, Slowing the Growth of Cancer (http://nutritionfacts.org/video/slowing-the-growth-of-cancer-3). Other factors may play into the link between cancer and dairy consumption including industrial pollutants (Industrial Carcinogens in Animal Fat, http://nutritionfacts.org/video/industrial-carcinogens-in-animal-fat-2) and IGF-1 (How Plant-Based to Lower IGF-1?, http://nutritionfacts.org/video/how-plant-based-to-lower-igf-1/), but for more on the hormones in dairy see: • Hormones in Skim vs. Whole Milk (http://nutritionfacts.org/video/hormones-in-skim-vs-whole-milk/) • National Dairy Council on Acne and Milk (http://nutritionfacts.org/video/national-dairy-council-on-acne-and-milk/) • Dairy & Sexual Precocity (http://nutritionfacts.org/video/dairy-sexual-precocity/) • Dairy Hormonal Interference (http://nutritionfacts.org/video/dairy-hormonal-interference/) What about all the studies suggesting milk "does a body good"? DESCRIPTION: What happens when men with prostate cancer and prostatic intraepithelial neoplasia (PIN) are placed on a relatively low-fat diet supplemented with ground flaxseeds? Slowing the Growth of Cancer (http://nutritionfacts.org/video/slowing-the-growth-of-cancer-3/) is good, but how about Cancer Reversal Through Diet? 6 Foods For Prostate Health

04:01
Follow us on Twitter: @foods4health1 Recipes4Health: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC2bZhXBHIb51n1fE3VWPmcQ/videos To learn more about the health benefits of food, visit: http://www.benefitsoffood.blogspot.com The prostate serves several functions in the body and is an integral part of the male reproductive system. As men age, it is important that prostate health is maintained, especially since prostate cancer is one of the most common cancers in men. Eating a balanced diet can help to maintain overall health as we age, and more importantly, may also help to promote a health prostate. Lets discuss some foods that can help to boost the health of your prostate and enhance its overall functioning. 1. First, we have discussed the importance of antioxidants and how they can promote your overall health a number of different ways in many videos. This makes berries, such as strawberries, blueberries and raspberries especially important when it comes to the health of your prostate. They are loaded with health promoting antioxidants and are a great source of vitamin C. These healthy berries work to eliminate free radicals in the body and help to prevent any damage caused by them. This helps to maintain the health of our cells and also ease symptoms associated with benign prostatic hyperplasia, a more common prostate condition. As well, they can promote urination and reduce swelling. 2. Brazil nuts are also great for our prostate. They are a very good source of vitamin E, selenium and calcium. They are also packed with healthy fats that can lower cholesterol and keep our bodies healthy and functioning properly. Some initial studies suggest that the selenium found in brazil nuts can be beneficial for the health of our prostate, and may even help with prostate cancer. Try not to over eat brazil nuts however since they are high in calories and just one brazil nut has over 100 percent of the daily recommended value of selenium. 3. Fatty fish such as salmon can also help with prostate health. This is largely due to the presence of omega-3 fatty acids which is found in salmon. Unlike other fats, such as saturated and trans fats, omega-3s have been shown to actually help increase the health of the prostate and promote its proper functioning. As well, omega-3 fatty acids may even help to lower the risk of prostate cancer, likely due to the anti-inflammatory effects they contain. 4. Beans are not only a healthy alternative to processed meats and loaded with many different nutrients, but they are also beneficial for prostate health. It isn’t just the wide range of nutrients found in many types of beans that make them great for prostate health, but also their high amounts of fibre. Adequate fibre intake has been linked to prostate health promotion. As well, they are loaded with protein and make an excellent addition for anyone looking to eat a more balanced and healthy diet. 5. You can also try pomegranate juice to boost the overall health of your prostate. Like strawberries and blueberries, pomegranate is an excellent source of antioxidants and has even been described as a “miracle fruit” due to its ability to help fight oxidative stress. Preliminary research has found pomegranate to help reduce the risk of cancer, such as prostate cancer, while also promoting the health of our cells. 6. Lastly, often thought of as a refreshing fruit in the summer months, watermelon may actually be abel to help boost the overall health of the prostate. This is because it is an excellent source of both vitamin A and vitamin C. Perhaps even more important for prostate health, watermelon is a great source of lycopene, a great antioxidants that may help to lower the risk of prostate cancer. Due to these health promoting effects of lycopene, other foods such as tomatoes and pink grapefruit may also be healthy for our prostate. When it comes to prostate health and prostate cancer treatment and prevention, always discuss with your medical practitioner for further treatment and prevention plans. What is the Link Between Diet and Prostate Cancer?

07:05
There are a host of environmental causes of prostate cancer, and one of those issues is diet. It’s no secret that Americans are eating an increasingly poor diet, rife with trans-fats and sugars. When it comes to the relation between diet and prostate cancer, our parents were right: “you are what you eat.” Cancer is an inflammatory disease, and most junk foods and carbohydrate rich diets promote inflammation. But what do you really need to know? In this video, Dr. Bevan-Thomas discusses the link between prostate cancer and diet. Prostate Cancer Prevention - 7 Ways to Protect your prostate Naturally

03:40
Prostate cancer is the most common cancer and the second leading cause of cancer-related deaths among men in the United-States. The prostate is a walnut-sized gland behind the base of a man’s penis and below the urinary bladder. Its function is to make seminal fluid, which is the liquid in semen that protects, supports, and helps transport sperm. In this video will talk about some of the natural ways to reduce your risk of prostate-cancer. 1.Learn about personal risk factors. Some of the major personal risk factors for prostate cancer are age and family history. The risk of prostate cancer increases the older you get. Although approximately 75% of the cases of prostate-cancer have no pattern or order, about 20% of those with prostate-cancer have had cases of the disease in their family previously. More than 80% of prostate-cancers are diagnosed in men over the age of 65. 2.Exercise regularly. One great way to possibly reduce the risk of prostate-cancer is to exercise. Some studies even indicate that your risk of cancer decreases further the more vigorous you exercise. You should do aerobic-exercise at least 30 minutes per day for 5-6 days out of the week. 3.Have sex more often. Another way that you can reduce your risk of prostate-cancer is to have more sex. According to an Australian study, if you masturbate 3 or more times per week, you are 34% less likely to develop prostate-cancer by age 70. Along the same lines, sex also counts toward the total number of weekly ejaculations. • The finding could be explained by the flushing out of cancer-causing agents during ejaculation 3.Reduce the amount of fat you eat. You can reduce your risk of prostate-cancer by making dietary changes. In order to help lower your chance of getting prostate-cancer, you should eat a diet that is low in fat. According to numerous studies, there is an established link between a diet high in saturated-fat and the development of prostate-cancer. • In general, fats should not exceed 30% of total daily-caloric intake 4.Increase your soy intake. Increasing the consumption of soy products is another dietary option to consider to reduce the risk of prostate-cancer. Soy products contain isoflavones, which are natural compounds that act like estrogens. In laboratory tests, they have been proven to inhibit the growth of prostate-cancer cells. • Try to incorporate soy products such as soymilk, tempeh, miso, and tofu into your diet. 5.Brew green tea. Drinking green-tea may also reduce the risk of prostate-cancer. Brewed green-tea contains high levels of polyphenol compounds, particularly catechins, that may be protective against prostate-cancer. Try to brew yourself a cup with breakfast or lunch to help lower your risk of cancer 6.Increase natural vitamins and minerals. There are some supplements that will naturally help you fight prostate-cancer. Naturally occurring folate, a B vitamin, has been shown to reduce the risk of prostate-cancer. You should not take folic-acid, which is a synthetic form of folate, because it has been found to increase the risk of prostate-cancer. How to Help Prevent Prostate Cancer with a Healthy Diet

01:56
Watch more Healthy Eating videos: http://www.howcast.com/videos/432542-How-to-Help-Prevent-Prostate-Cancer-with-a-Healthy-Diet Although there is no sure way to prevent cancer, the right diet may help lower your risk. Step 1: Maintain a healthy body weight Maintain a healthy body weight by keeping your calories under control and eating moderate-sized portions. Overindulging on food can increase your risk for cancer. Step 2: Cut back on fat Cut back on saturated fats like the animal fat in red meat, and trans-fatty acids found in margarine and fried foods. Cultures that have higher prostate cancer rates tend to have more fat in their diet. Tip Eat more fresh fish, which has the beneficial omega-3 fatty acids. Step 3: Add fruits and vegetables Make fruits and vegetables a key part of your diet. Vegetables high in folate, like spinach, asparagus, and beans have been linked with preventing many types of cancer. Cruciferous foods like broccoli and cauliflower help in prostate cancer prevention. Step 4: Consume whole-grain foods Consume whole-grain foods such as brown rice and whole-wheat bread. Whole grains also provide your body with needed fiber. Step 5: Lower your intake of sweets and salts Lower your intake of sweets and salt. Once you get used to using less of these condiments, you won't miss them. Step 6: Drink alcohol in moderation Drink alcohol in moderation. Heavy drinking can increase the risk of aggressive prostate cancer. Limit yourself to two drinks a day. Step 7: Practice moderation Practice moderation in your diet. Don't eat or drink any of the recommended foods in excess. Keeping your diet diverse will help you live a healthy life. Did You Know? As of 2010, the National Institute of Health reported that African-American men are 60 percent more likely to develop prostate cancer than Caucasian men.

What Would I Eat If I Had Cancer?

05:31
Take Dr. Berg's Advanced Evaluation Quiz: http://bit.ly/EvalQuiz ***DOWNLOAD THIS RESEARCH DATA FROM THE WORLD HEALTH ORGANIZATION: https://www.iarc.fr/en/publications/pdfs-online/prev/handbook9/Handbook9_Cruciferous-Vegetables.pdf Your report will then be sent via email analyzing 104 potential symptoms, giving you a much deeper insight into the cause-effect relationship of your body issues. It's free and very enlightening. Dr. Berg talks about what he would eat if you have cancer. Cancer is dependent on sugar metabolism (glycolysis). The uptake of glucose is 10-12 times more for cancer cells than normal cell. Glucose increases tumor growth. High blood sugars can increase the risk of breast cancer. PET scans detect where cancers are due to the fact that they eat sugar. WHAT TO DO: 1. Avoid all sugars 2. Consume cruciferous 3. Consume all organic foods 4. Garlic is the #1 food for cancer in that studies show the most positive impact. 5. Get a good amount of vitamin D from the sun. Top 10 Cancer Causing Foods You Should Avoid

08:56
Cancer is an abnormal growth of cells. There are more than 100 types of cancer, including breast cancer, skin cancer, lung cancer, colon cancer, prostate cancer, and lymphoma. Possible signs and symptoms include a lump, abnormal bleeding, prolonged cough, unexplained weight loss and a change in bowel movements. Many cancers can be prevented by not smoking, maintaining a healthy weight, not drinking too much alcohol, eating plenty of vegetables, fruits and whole grains, not eating too much processed and red meat, and by avoiding many cancer causing foods that we have listed below. Microwave popcorn bags are lined with perfluorooctanoic acid, a compound that has been linked to various types of cancer, including liver, testicular and pancreatic cancer. Canned foods allow you to enjoy your favorite vegetables throughout the year. However, if you are concerned about your health, avoid canned food, especially canned tomatoes. The cans used to pack tomatoes and other foods are lined with a product called bisphenol A, BPA, an endocrine disruptor that may mimic or disrupt hormones and increase the risks for breast cancer, prostate cancer, early puberty, metabolic disorders, infertility, and several other problems. Farmed salmon is nowhere near as healthy as wild salmon, and eating farmed salmon puts you at a higher risk of developing cancer. Farm-raised fish are fed unnatural diets and contaminated with chemicals, antibiotics, pesticides and other known carcinogens found in materials like asbestos. Hydrogenated oils are vegetable oils, which cannot be naturally extracted like olive oil, soy or canola oil, they are chemically extracted from vegetables and is again chemically treated to change the smell and taste. This process turns unsaturated fat into a stable solid fat, resulting in trans fatty hydrogenated oil which is considered to be the worst type of fat and is known to cause cancer, heart disease, and immune system problems. Potato chips are deep-fried in temperatures above 120 degrees Celsius, which causes them to create a material called acrylamide, a well-known carcinogen found in cigarettes. Genetically modified foods (GMOs) are a rapidly growing industry and have made their way into the majority of our foods like corn, potatoes, grains and soybeans. Such food products are grown using harmful chemicals and, when consumed, can lead to immune system, brain and liver damage. Refined sugar, artificial sweeteners and fructose-rich sweeteners like high-fructose corn syrup are not good for your health. These products tend to rapidly spike insulin levels and feed the growth of cancer cells. Refined White flour contains excess carbohydrates that are not good for your health and even increase the risk of cancer. During the milling process, white flour is bleached with chlorine gas, which is highly toxic for the body. Processed meats such as ham, sausage and bacon have chemicals and preservatives like sodium nitrates, which make them bad for your health. In addition, processed meat contains excessive salt, which is also not good for you. Pickled and smoked foods are delicious but, at the same time, very harmful to the body. In fact, smoked meats that pick up tar from the smoking process cause extreme harm to your body. Plus, most pickled foods contain nitrates that turn into N-nitroso, which increases your risk of cancer.

The 5 biggest myths about diet and prostate cancer - Desiree Nielsen

02:11
Desiree Nielsen is Registered Dietitian based in Vancouver, B.C. She runs a private practice focusing on digestive health, plant-centred diets and anti-inflammatory nutrition. 1. [00:12] Diet causes prostate cancer: No, diet alone cannot bring on the prostate cancer diagnosis. 2. [00:22] Food has nothing to do with prostate cancer: Of course diet alone cannot cause or treat prostate cancer but food can play a great role in boosting your ability to thrive post diagnosis. 3. [00:32] Soy foods cause hormonal imbalance: This is not true. Eating whole traditional soy foods can yield great health benefits. 4. [00:54] Sugars feed cancer: While it is recommended to avoid added sugars, do not misinterpret it and miss good foods such as fruits, vegetables and whole grains that might slightly raise your blood sugar level. 5. [01:36] Miracle water!: If a product sounds too good to be true or promises too much, think twice before taking it on. You are far better off converting that energy and money into diet filled with whole foods. For more info visit http://ifiweretom.ubc.ca

Prostate Cancer: Diet

12:17
read more on the link : Researchers from Canada have found that having a diet of red meat, organ meats, soft drink and bottled water increased the risk of getting prostate cancer. They compared the diets of 80 men with prostate cancer, and 334 healthy men, and the diet just described more than doubled the risk of developing prostate cancer. So what prostate diet can reduce the risk of prostate cancer? Swedish researchers examined the diet of 1499 men with prostate cancer and 1130 men who were healthy, and they published their findings in the Cancer Causes and Control journal. They found that eating foods rich in phytoestrogens decreased the risk of prostate cancer. Phytoestrogens are plant molecules that have a weak estrogenic effect. They are made converted in the intestines from plant precursors by bacteria as they digest food. They are taken up by the same parts of the body that process the hormone estrogen. Interestingly, one of the treatments for prostate cancer by doctors involves using estrogens to reduce the level of testosterone in men with advanced prostate cancer. It does this indirectly, through its effect on the hypothalamus, as less luteinizing hormone releasing hormone is produced by the hypothalamus. This means not as much luteinizing hormone is released by the body, which suppresses the production of testosterone. High doses of estrogens for men can lead to cardiovascular complications. But phytoestrogens obtained from diet, in less quantities than a drug, and with a milder effect to start with, should not pose a problem. And researchers don't yet know what exactly causes phytoestrogens to have such a protective effect, whether it is similar to that of the estrogen treatment for advanced prostate cancers. And they don't know which phytoestrogens are the most active. So what phytoestrogen foods could you include in a diet for a healthy prostate? Soy beans and nuts are a good source. Soy and nuts contain a type of phytoestrogen called isoflavones, whilst berries and seeds contain lignans. Foods could include peanuts, sunflower seeds, peanuts, and berries. The only possible concerns with soy is that a study in mice found that male mice that had a type of heart disease that people also have, suffered heart failure when fed a soy based diet. Whether this extrapolates to the human population is yet to be established. But it may be wise for those me who have this particular genetic heart condition, dilated cardiomyopathy, to be cautious about soy products in their diet. But for other men, soy products could be good news. A meta analysis, which is a study of related studies, published in the International Journal of Cancer, found that diets high in soy lowered men's risk of prostate cancer by 30%. Another important mineral to consider for men is zinc. Zinc is used by men's bodies to make some of the male hormones, and for general prostate health. A deficiency in zinc can lead to problems with the testicles, the prostate, and the health of the sperm. Foods that are great sources of zinc include seeds like pumpkin, sesame, and sunflower; nuts like almonds, brazil, cashews and walnuts; and foods like lettuce, oats and onions. Raw onion is particularly suggested by Paul Bedson, a natural therapist. He also suggests vegetable juice made of equal parts of beetroot, carrot, and cucumber in cases where the prostate gland is enlarged. Cranberry juice, a cup drunk three times a day, is also recommended in this case. prostate, prostrate, cancer, prostate cancer, diagnosing prostate cancer, symptoms of prostate cancer, information on prostate cancer, prostate cancer treatment, mens cancer, men's cancer, PSA, psa, therapy, hormone, symptoms, prostatectomy, brachytherapy, cryosurgery, metastatic, 3D conformal, information, diet, research, radiation, radiotherapy, prevention, screening, localised, support, surgery, awareness, treatment, advanced, donation, symptom, bracytherapy, prostatic, gleason, tookit, Tool Kit, gleason score, biopsy, psa test, prostate gland, prostate specific antigen, HIFU, hifu, bisphosphonates, cryotherapy, health professionals, charity, men, campaigning, fundraising, gland, helpline, prostate cancer publications, prostate cancer booklets, diagnosed, palliative radiotherapy, chemotherapy, continence, events, fundraise, campaign, specialist nurses, african caribbean, prostate cancer charity, prostate cancer symptoms, trus, prostate problems, prostate cancer awareness month, prostate biopsy, gleason grading, DRE, BPH, prostatitis, localised prostate cancer, locally advanced prostate cancer, advanced prostate cancer, active surveillance, hormone therapy, high dose rate brachytherapy, bisphosphonates, palliative radiotherapy, clinical trials, HIFU,Prostate cancer, PSA,prostate cancer, oncology, medical animation, health app, educational, prostate cancer animated video, prostate cancer information, prostate cancer video

(All proceeds Dr. Greger receives from the sales of his books, DVDs, and speaking engagements go to support the 501c3 nonprofit that runs NutritionFacts.org.) DESCRIPTION: Choline may be the reason egg consumption is associated with prostate cancer progression and death. If you're a long-time follower and some of this sounds familiar, it's because I had to fast-track some of this choline information to offer background for my Dr. Oz Show appearance. A longer video that covers this can be found in Carnitine, Choline, Cancer and Cholesterol: The TMAO Connection (http://nutritionfacts.org/video/carnitine-choline-cancer-and-cholesterol-the-tmao-connection/). In my last video, Eggs and Choline: Something Fishy (http://nutritionfacts.org/video/eggs-and-choline-something-fishy), I talked about what trimethylamine might do to one's body odor. With regard to the prevention of prostate cancer progression, chicken and eggs may be the worst foods to eat, but what might be the best? See my recent video Prostate Cancer Survival: The A/V Ratio (http://nutritionfacts.org/video/prostate-cancer-survival-the-av-ratio). 9 Foods That Can Help Fight Prostate Cancer

07:21
9 Foods That Can Help Fight Prostate Cancer 1. Tomatoes Besides being delicious when consumed raw or cooked, tomatoes are filled with vitamins and minerals that can help limit cancer risk and fight the spread of cancer following a prostate cancer diagnosis. That’s partly because they’re a good source of the phytochemical known as lycopene, which is capable of fighting free radicals. If you’re not a fan of tomatoes, there are other ways to get your lycopene. Grapefruit, for example, contains lycopene in addition to other phytochemicals, such as limonin and beta carotene. 2. Grapes Grapes and grape by-products, such as grape juice, contain a type of phytochemical known as resveratrol, which has been shown to fight inflammation, reduce the risk of cancer, and help fight cancer following a diagnosis. Just keep in mind that grapes and grape juice contain a lot of sugar; in fact, some varieties of grape juice contain added sugars. Consuming too much sugar, whether natural or not, can present problems for people trying to maintain their weight. 3. Whole Grains Many of the fashionable diets out there discourage people from consuming carbohydrates, with bread being a major target for some fitness experts. But there’s nothing inherently wrong with eating bread, so long as it’s in moderation, and if the bread in the question is made from whole grains like barley, bulgar, kasha, millet, quinoa, etc. Many of these whole grain breads contain valuable vitamins and minerals, like magnesium, and are full of fiber, which can help keep our digestive system functioning as it should. Just try to buy freshly made bread rather than the highly processed stuff, which can contain too many preservatives and less fiber. 4. Apples You know what they say — an apple a day keeps the doctor away. That may not be entirely true, particularly if you’ve received a prostate cancer diagnosis, but there’s no denying that the apple is one healthy food. That’s because the typical apple is an excellent source of vitamins like vitamin A and vitamin C, in addition to fiber, which can help keep the digestive system functioning as it should. But apples also contain quercetin, a flavonoid that has been shown to fight inflammation and the progress of cancer. And, because it contains antioxidants, the apple can also help limit the risk of getting cancer in the first place. 5. Berries There are few foods more chock-full of cancer-fighting antioxidants than berries like raspberries, blueberries, blackberries, cranberries, and strawberries. All of these types of berries are good options if you’re looking for antioxidants that can help control free radicals and fight inflammation. Of course, berries are also an excellent source of vitamins like vitamin C and vitamin K, in addition to fiber. Keep in mind, however, that berries do contain a lot of sugar. Also, some types of berries, such as blueberries and blackberries, contain more cancer-fighting agents than strawberries or raspberries. 6. Fresh, Lean Protein 7. Water 8. Cruciferous Veggies 9. Good Morning America: Dr. Dean Ornish on Reversing Prostate Cancer

05:28
Twenty-nine thousand men die every year from prostate cancer. Dr. Ornish explains to Diane Sawyer how he and his colleagues examined the effects of intensive lifestyle changes on men with early stage prostate cancer after one year. After one year, none of the men in the experimental group underwent conventional treatments compared to six in the control group. Prostate Specific Antigen (PSA) decreased 4% in the experimental group compared to a 6% increase in the control group, and prostate cancer cell growth was inhibited almost eight times as much in the experimental group compared to the control group. These results indicate that intensive lifestyle changes may effect the progression of early low-grade prostate cancer. At the end of the interview, Sawyer says: "Well, this is big news this morning and I remember the skepticism that first greeted you when you talked about reversing heart disease, and then it proved to be the case." Stop chest pain. Halt the progression of disease in your body. Start feeling better by changing your life. For more information, call 1-877-888-3091 or visit http://undoitwithornish.com.

Top 12 Super Foods That Fight Breast Cancer

04:15
Breast cancer is a disease caused by our bodies cellular unbalance. It’s most commonly found in women. Early diagnosis is the best way to effectively treat breast cancer, so getting an annual mammogram is one of the best ways for women over 40 to prevent this disease. Aside from early diagnosis, keeping your cells balanced and free of harmful free radicals is the second best way to avoid this disease. So, here is a list of foods that contain chemical compounds that help slow the development of cancer. Green Tea Green tea is rich in polyphenols and catechins. These substances are antioxidants that protect our cells from DNA damage caused by free radicals. One cup of green tea per day is the recommended amount. Pomegranate juice Pomegranate juice also contains polyphenols. According to recent studies, pomegranate juice has the potential to be a preventative tool for certain types of cancer, including breast cancer. Blueberries, strawberries and black raspberries These fruits contain large quantities of polyphenols, that may contain anticancer properties. Furthermore, they are rich in antioxidants, such as vitamin C. You should eat from ¾ of a cup to 1 cup of fruit a day. Plums and peaches Studies indicate that the polyphenols found in plums and peaches can help prevent breast cancer cell formation and keep them from multiplying. Evidence suggest that polyphenols help kill cancerous cells, without harming healthy cells. Cruciferous vegetables These vegetables are normally rich in antioxidants (such as vitamins C, E and K) and fiber. The most popular cruciferous vegetables are: - Broccoli; - Cauliflower; - Brussel sprouts; - Arugula; - Cabbage. Green vegetables The greener the vegetable, the denser the nutrients. Green vegetables are normally rich in antioxidants and fibers, which makes them valuable tools against cancer. Carotenoids Carotenoids are found in red, orange, dark green and yellow fruits and vegetables. These foods are very rich in vitamin A, lutein, beta carotene and lycopene, all of which are effective against free radicals. Apigenin Apigenin is a flavonoid found in certain fruits, vegetables and herbs. As apigenin is an antioxidant, these foods may have anti-inflammatory properties as well. The most common sources of apignenin are: - Parsley; - Celery; - Chamomile; - Mint; - Spinach; - Licorice. Omega-3 Fatty Acids Found abundantly in cold water fish, omega-3 fatty acids are an essential nutrient for the functioning of your immune system. The most common sources of Omega-3 are: - Salmon; - Sardines; - Herring; - Fish oils, such as cod liver oil. Whole grains Whole foods also tend to be high in anticancer polyphenols, they usually include other essential nutrients such as fiber, magnesium and protein. Some examples of whole grains are: - Brown rice; - Oats; - Corn; - Barley. Peppers Both dehydrated and fresh peppers contain capsaicin. This component is a very powerful antioxidant in the fight against free radicals and it also has anticancer power. The hotter the pepper, the higher the concentration of capsaicin. Garlic Garlic is especially effective for people suffering from breast cancer that have a reaction with estrogen. Saffron Saffron has curcumin that helps decrease the toxic effects of certain breast cancer cells and can inhibit the growth of cancer cells. Always remember that breast cancer treatment should be overseen by a doctor, however, these tips may help to complement it, so talk to your doctor about these foods.
