How to: Measure Blood Pressure

04:09
An introductory video explaining how to manually measure blood pressure. In this video, we are sharing with you the auscultatory method of determining systolic and diastolic arterial pressures. The cuff is placed above the antecubital artery and the cuff is above the upper arm. The stethoscope is placed near the antecubital artery and no sound will be hear when there is enough pressure to close off the artery. When the pressure is slowly released, the sound of blood jetting through the vessel by the vibrations of the wall is called the Korotkoff sounds. The first sound is also the systolic pressure. The diastolic pressure is when a muffled quality occurs. Please note that the sound is often overestimated because sound can still be heard even after deflation of the cuff. This method is not 100% accurate but will give values within the 10% range. This information was written in the Textbook of Medical Physiology by Guyton and Hall. **Disclaimer: we are not medical professionals.

How to measure blood pressure-bp measurement. In this video I am going to show how You can measure Blood Pressure at home By bp machine(sphygmomanometer). Follow the steps as shown in videos. Blood pressure is a lateral pressure exerted by blood on blood vessels. The normal systolic pressure is 120 and diastolic pressure is 80. SP/DP= 120/80 But this value vary on several factors like age, sex, diet etc. If You want to know your blood pressure add 100 to your age this will be your systolic pressure. For example- If your age is 45 then your sp is 100+45=145mm of hg. _____________________ ________ Watch the video till end._________________________ DON’T FORGET TO SUBSCRIBE AND LIKE If you have any query mail me - biomedtopic@gmail.com For more visit- http://scientechinstitute.blogspot.in Thanks for watching Watch more video: Diabetes- https://youtu.be/acTI_Jy42uE Colorblind test-- https://youtu.be/6OMyfw2XNOw How to focus on study- https://youtu.be/_xYA0qKSDZk Structure of Heart - https://youtu.be/BO7w_YITC3U How to check blood group at home - https://youtu.be/BHpzzr3GeFM Chromosomal Aneuploidy video- https://youtu.be/u_0GDER173A DNA structure - https://youtu.be/eb5PPWFZzxI Malaria disease- https://youtu.be/WMYVjt-iutQ Learn Pedigree analysis- https://youtu.be/7q-kLsHumdA Microscope - https://youtu.be/NCOz2bYm-44 How to measure blood pressure- https://youtu.be/O2aRNrrqV0I Sphygmomanometer- https://youtu.be/lcOUwSoI8bo How to check sugar at home- https://youtu.be/VfCflRrllAo ¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬_____________________________________________________________________ Follow me on social website: YOUTUBE - http://www.youtube.com/c/scientechbiology FACEBOOK- https://www.facebook.com/ScientechInstitute2011 Instagram- https://www.instagram.com/satyendra_scientechbiology/ TWITTER- https://twitter.com/ScientechBiolo1 GOOGLE +- https://plus.google.com/u/0/107477652068065743054 https://www.facebook.com/scientechbiology -~-~~-~~~-~~-~- Please watch: "A to Z fruits and their importance-Food value of fruits-Nutrition" https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JALCpDhAsXo -~-~~-~~~-~~-~- _____________________ ________ Watch the video till end._________________________ DON’T FORGET TO SUBSCRIBE AND LIKE If you have any query mail me - biomedtopic@gmail.com For more visit- http://scientechinstitute.blogspot.in Thanks for watching Watch more video: contribute- http://www.youtube.com/timedtext_cs_panel?tab=2&c=UCH8C3uC0fapVBx4xb_GgrtA Facts about human body- https://youtu.be/6vh4d0DppZQ Knock knee- https://youtu.be/5N_MWj6gkwM Importance of Fruits- https://youtu.be/JALCpDhAsXo Life under Microscope- https://youtu.be/sGD-C7akhuI Diabetes- https://youtu.be/acTI_Jy42uE Colorblind test-- https://youtu.be/6OMyfw2XNOw How to focus on study- https://youtu.be/_xYA0qKSDZk Structure of Heart - https://youtu.be/BO7w_YITC3U How to check blood group at home - https://youtu.be/BHpzzr3GeFM Chromosomal Aneuploidy video- https://youtu.be/u_0GDER173A DNA structure - https://youtu.be/eb5PPWFZzxI Malaria disease- https://youtu.be/WMYVjt-iutQ Learn Pedigree analysis- https://youtu.be/7q-kLsHumdA Microscope - https://youtu.be/NCOz2bYm-44 How to measure blood pressure- https://youtu.be/O2aRNrrqV0I Sphygmomanometer- https://youtu.be/lcOUwSoI8bo How to check sugar at home- https://youtu.be/VfCflRrllAo ¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬_____________________________________________________________________ Follow me on social website: YOUTUBE - http://www.youtube.com/c/scientechbiology FACEBOOK- https://www.facebook.com/ScientechInstitute2011 Instagram- https://www.instagram.com/satyendra_scientechbiology/ TWITTER- https://twitter.com/ScientechBiolo1 GOOGLE +- https://plus.google.com/u/0/107477652068065743054 https://www.facebook.com/scientechbiology

How Blood Pressure Works Animation - Understanding Blood Pressure Measurement Monitor Readings Video

01:44
Normal blood pressure is important for proper blood flow to the body’s organs and tissues. The force of the blood on the walls of the arteries is called blood pressure. Blood pressure is measured both as the heart contracts, which is called systole, and as it relaxes, which is called diastole. Normal blood pressure is considered to be a systolic blood pressure of 115 millimeters of mercury a diastolic pressure of 70 millimeters of mercury (stated as "115 over 70"). If an individual were to have a consistent blood pressure reading of 140 over 90, he would be evaluated for having high blood pressure. If left untreated, high blood pressure can damage important organs, such as the brain and kidneys, as well as lead to a stroke. High blood pressure is a common disease in which blood flows through blood vessels (arteries) at higher than normal pressures. Measuring Blood Pressure Blood pressure is the force of blood pushing against the walls of the arteries as the heart pumps blood. High blood pressure, sometimes called hypertension, happens when this force is too high. Health care workers check blood pressure readings the same way for children, teens, and adults. They use a gauge, stethoscope or electronic sensor, and a blood pressure cuff. With this equipment, they measure: Systolic Pressure: blood pressure when the heart beats while pumping blood Diastolic Pressure: blood pressure when the heart is at rest between beats Health care workers write blood pressure numbers with the systolic number above the diastolic number. For example: 118/76 mmHg People read "118 over 76" millimeters of mercury. Normal Blood Pressure: Normal blood pressure for adults is defined as a systolic pressure below 120 mmHg and a diastolic pressure below 80 mmHg. It is normal for blood pressures to change when you sleep, wake up, or are excited or nervous. When you are active, it is normal for your blood pressure to increase. However, once the activity stops, your blood pressure returns to your normal baseline range. Blood pressure normally rises with age and body size. Newborn babies often have very low blood pressure numbers that are considered normal for babies, while older teens have numbers similar to adults. Abnormal Blood Pressure Abnormal increases in blood pressure are defined as having blood pressures higher than 120/80 mmHg. The following table outlines and defines high blood pressure severity levels. The ranges in the table are blood pressure guides for adults who do not have any short-term serious illnesses. People with diabetes or chronic kidney disease should keep their blood pressure below 130/80 mmHg. Although blood pressure increases seen in prehypertension are less than those used to diagnose high blood pressure, prehypertension can progress to high blood pressure and should be taken seriously. Over time, consistently high blood pressure weakens and damages your blood vessels, which can lead to complications. Types of High Blood Pressure There are two main types of high blood pressure: primary and secondary high blood pressure. Primary High Blood Pressure Primary, or essential, high blood pressure is the most common type of high blood pressure. This type of high blood pressure tends to develop over years as a person ages. Secondary High Blood Pressure Secondary high blood pressure is caused by another medical condition or use of certain medicines. This type usually resolves after the cause is treated or removed. Blood pressure (BP) is the pressure exerted by circulating blood upon the walls of blood vessels. When used without further specification, "blood pressure" usually refers to the arterial pressure in the systemic circulation. It is usually measured at a person's upper arm. Blood pressure is usually expressed in terms of the systolic (maximum) pressure over diastolic (minimum) pressure and is measured in millimeters of mercury (mm Hg). It is one of the vital signs along with respiratory rate, heart rate, oxygen saturation, and body temperature. Normal resting blood pressure in an adult is approximately 120/80 mm Hg. Blood pressure varies depending on situation, activity, and disease states. It is regulated by the nervous and endocrine systems. Blood pressure that is low due to a disease state is called hypotension, and pressure that is consistently high is hypertension. Both have many causes which can range from mild to severe. Both may be of sudden onset or of long duration. Long term hypertension is a risk factor for many diseases, including kidney failure, heart disease, and stroke. Long term hypertension is more common than long term hypotension in Western countries. Long term hypertension often goes undetected because of infrequent monitoring and the absence of symptoms. Physiology: During each heartbeat, blood pressure varies between a maximum (systolic) and a minimum (diastolic) pressure. Q. What blood pressure should I have? What is normal blood pressure?

Learn blood pressure measurement by conventional mercury device

03:09
Mercury device The most common indirect methods are auscultation and oscillometry  Brachial artery is the most common measurement site (close to heart, convenient measurement)  The occlusive cuff is inflated until the pressure is above systolic pressure and then is slowly bled off (2 to 3 mmHg/s). When the systolic peaks are higher than the occlusive pressure, the blood spurts under the cuff and causes a palpable pulse known as Korotkoff’s sounds. The manometer pressure at the first detection of the pulse indicates the systolic pressure, 􀜲􀯌. The cuff pressure is further released and Korotkoff’s sounds continue until the brachial artery opens completely and the turbulence stops. The silence returns when the cuff is at the diastolic pressure 􀜲􀮽.  Blood pressure estimated is based on effects of laminar flow vs. turbulent flow  The occlusive cuff should be of a correct size in order to transmit the pressure to the artery evenly and thus to obtain accurate results  The cuff should be placed at the heart level in order to minimize the hydrostatic effects.

How To Lower Blood Pressure Quickly - Quick Natural Way To Lower Your BP

03:45
http://BPgoLow.com/Virgina-Sturms-Natural-Solutions-To-High-BP How to lower blood pressure quickly when you find its shot up - soak your feet in warm water. You will get almost immediate but temporary relief. I was so luck I knew about this solution when I had my own emergency, the day my BP shot way too high. A megadose of a supplement I took (Vit B12) backfired. If you're ever in such a quandary, what do you do - call your doctor, go to the ER? Yes, please do that. For me, I soaked my feet in warm water. I'm not recommending this as a substitute for proper medical treatment. I'm just saying this is what I did myself, and it worked for me. One day, before leaving home, my BP was 171/113. They say high BP (hypertension) is a "silent disease", but it does whisper softly. I felt it. It was an uncomfortable feeling, a strong sense of "something isn't right". For some it may be a slight headachy feeling, or a tightness in the head, or dizziness. If you stop and think, you can feel it if ever your BP shoots way too high. If ever it does, you'll then be searching for answers as to how to lower blood pressure quickly, like I was. Soaking your feet can significantly reduce blood pressure. You don't need to add add anything to the water. Just plain hot tap water will do. Nothing fancy. It's the heating of the feet that does it. Why does it work? I don't know. It's a curious physiological reaction you can use to your own advantage. I made this video because if ever you need to know how to lower your blood pressure quickly, this is one natural, quick and easy solution. My BP was dropped from about 170/100 down to 140/80, rising a bit thereafter, but not as high as it was before the feet soaking treatment. What a RELIEF!!! I hope you find this video on lowering blood pressure quickly helpful to you. Good luck with managing your hypertension. Once you know how to lower your blood pressure quickly, and get your BP down to safer levels, if you need to find other more permanent solutions for natural BP reduction, please go to http://BPgoLow.com/Virgina-Sturms-Natural-Solutions-To-High-BP

☝️ 3 Pressure Points That’ll Instantly Lower Your Blood Pressure Naturally

05:23
How I Lowered My Dad’s Blood Pressure by 23% In Just A Few days - NO Drugs or Diets: 👉http://drsam.co/yt/LongTermLowBP Or you can watch this video: http://drsam.co/yt/WorstFoodForBP ======================================= ☝️ 3 Pressure Points That’ll Instantly Lower Your Blood Pressure Naturally ======================================= Lowering high blood pressure is a very important topic not only for avoiding a heart attack or stroke, but simply for a longer life. And personally speaking, this is very important for me because I have a family history of high blood pressure, which has typically lead to strokes on my dad’s side of the family and heart attacks on my mom’s. The good news is that there are lots of simple ways to lower high blood pressure, naturally. And today I’m going reveal 3 simple pressure points on your body, that will instantly lower your blood pressure. Something important that I want to bring to your attention about today’s topic is that these solutions are for instant results, NOT long-term solutions … which I’ll get to at the end of today’s video. So if you’re feeling stressed or your blood pressure is rising, you can almost instantly and quickly use today’s 3 pressure points to lower your blood pressure and help avoid anything bad from happening. If nothing else, you’ll get instant relief and relaxation. Acupressure Point LI4 LI 4, which stands for “Large Intestine 4”, is an extremely useful acupressure point that is extensively used to treat chronic pain, acute stress and various types of diseases along with treatment for high blood pressure. This point is situated in the webbing between the forefinger and the thumb… right in the middle as you see here. It calms and balances blood flow throughout the body and clears stagnation. As an added benefit, it also boosts your immunity. The most effective way to apply pressure to LI 4 is to slide your thumb along the webbing until you reach the junction of the thumb and index finger bones. How to apply acupressure? Begin by moving your thumb in a small circular rubbing motion over LI 4 for a few seconds. Then you can apply gentle to moderate thumb pressure depending on how sensitive the area feels. If there is any pain, it should be a “good hurt,” not severe or uncomfortable. You can hold the point as long as you are comfortable, up to several minutes. I typically suggest about 20-30 seconds, then take a few second break and then repeat as often as you’d like. PC 6 PC 6 or Pericardium 6 is yet another important acupressure point for treating high blood pressure. It soothes and helps the heart and circulatory system in their proper functioning. This point is also known as the Inner Gate, and it is located on the inner forearm, approximately three finger-widths away from the wrist crease as you see here. This point can be stimulated by applying firm pressure to the point using your index finger or thumb. Again, apply pressure for about 20-30 seconds, then take a break and repeat as needed. G20 The G20 is below the base of your skull, in the hollows on both sides of the neck, between the two vertical neck muscles. Putting pressure here lowers your blood pressure, reduces headaches and stress by relaxing your nervous system. Use your thumbs, fingers, or knuckles to gradually apply pressure into the hollows of your skull. Close your eyes as you tilt your head back slowly. Take long, slow deep breaths as you hold for two to three minutes. Direct the pressure slowly and firmly into the center of your head. Other Acupressure Points Now, there are lots of other acupressure points -- on your feet, arms, legs, and so forth. I picked these 3 areas for lowering your blood pressure because you can do them any where, any place -- they’re easy to access. It’s just your hand, forearm/wrist and the back of your head. Easy access, you can do it yourself and you’ll get fast relief. ======================================== Thank you for watching. Please feel free to comment, like or share with your friends. High and Low Blood Pressure Symptoms and Precautions in Hindi

14:19
Best HeartBeat and Blood Pressure measuring mobile app | In Hindi

09:20
http://www.techbulu.com/ Today many people are suffering from high blood pressure and sugar. The only thing to reduce the impact of high bp and diabetes is to continuously monitor the blood pressure and monitor. Now a days we get the bp measure machines and in earlier days the old machine in which we have to pump the air to measure the blood pressure used to monitor and it was difficult to use by a normal person if he don’t know properly how to use. As technology advanced the machines which now are available are easy to use to check bp by just one click. However as mobile phones came there it has provided a useful small mechanism by just putting your finger on mobile camera to check your blood pressure, oxigen level etc. It's very useful in cases in which you don’t have to carry the bp measure machine. Honestly measuring bp using mobile phone is not accurate as measuring manually by using old machine but sometimes it's very useful if nothing is there to help you out. The app which I am going to tell you can use to measure or monitor bp will also provide many useful information and also you can keep a record of sugar levels if you want many things are there and many things are provided in the app which no other app can provide. You can test your eyes share your data with anyone and even can get your emotions what you are feeling. In my video I am going to tell you how to install the app, how to use it properly. OMRON Automatic Blood Pressure Monitor

02:15
This is not, in any way, sponsored. I just happen to have bought this product and thought I'd give my thoughts on owning an automatic blood pressure monitor. Read more reviews here: https://goo.gl/wo4OSH Blood Pressure Monitoring Automatically Health is Wealth Everybody knows the famous saying “Health is Wealth” and for today’s culture, you either prioritize it or die trying. According to the Heart Foundation, cardiovascular disease (CVD) is a major cause of death in Australia and attributed to 45,053 in 2014 likely resulting to an Australian dying every 12 minutes. I am worried of having a heart, stroke, or blood vessel disease which is why I am making sure I check what I eat and what I do. I currently don’t have any issues with my blood pressure or cholesterol levels but I thought of my parents and how old age could affect their cardiovascular health. There are many risk factors involved for one to get a CVD and I believe my parents has a few of them. One is high blood pressure, being overweight and obese, and physical inactivity due to old age. Here is a PDF copy of the Australian Heart Disease Statistics of 2014. One thing you can do to help monitor your cardiovascular health is with your blood pressure. Unfortunately, not everybody knows how to take a blood pressure and especially for older people who live on their own it is especially hard. You can’t take a blood pressure on your own using a manual blood pressure cuff and you would also need someone who has had training like a nurse or anybody in the practice of health services. That’s where the automatic blood pressure monitors come in. Whether you’re alone or you’re with somebody else who also doesn’t know how to take blood pressures. I was just in Costco today and saw this blood pressure monitor – The OMRON Automatic Blood Pressure Monitor. There are other brands out there but this is the only one I’ve got. OMRON Automatic Blood Pressure Monitor is a product of OMRON HEALTHCARE Co., Ltd., Japan. The core component for OMRON blood pressure monitors, which is the Pressure Sensor, is produced in Japan. It’s very easy to use an automatic blood pressure monitor. You just need to put the arm cuff around your preferred arm and make sure that it is neither too tight or loose. The OMRON automatic blood pressure monitor has an indicator to tell you whether the cuff is too tight or loose. If it is perfectly fit around the arm, the symbol “OK” will be visible. Once the cuff is wrapped around the arm, you just need to press the start button on the device. Be ready though as the cuff will inflate really tight for a few seconds. All you have to do now is wait for the reading to appear. A blood pressure reading under 120/80mmHg is considered optimal. It requires a cuff, a bulb to inflate cuff, a valve to control pressure and a stethoscope to listen to the korotkoff sound. There are two types of sphygmomanometers. a) Digital:- It is very easy to use, gives accurate reading and is applicable to all sort of patients. b) Manometric:- Although it is old fashioned, it is very precised. Now, in some places, some devices that use mercury have been banned but aneroid type is still in use. While measuring blood pressure using this device you have to wrap the cuff around your upper arm or your doctor you will do the same for you. Remember your cuff should be placed around the upper arm at roughly the same vertical height as your heart. Thereafter you have to inflate the cuff by squeezing the rubber bulb. When the cuff is inflated well and truly as per the requirement then you need to release the pressure of the cuff very slowly while listening through the stethoscope. With the release of the pressure your blood will start to pulse in your artery making a whooshing sound. The pressure at which you hear the sound for the first time is called the systolic pressure. The pressure at which you hear the last sound is known as the diastolic pressure .Your blood pressure is basically measured in millimeters of mercury. Now after getting the measurement, you will have to decide whether it is normal or not. For this, I tell you, 120/80 mmHg is considered to be normal in adults. But, be mindful of the fact that normal blood pressure varies from person to person depending upon a variety of factors. This is how sphygmomanometer gives your blood pressure reading using a cuff, valve, bulb and stethoscope. Please like our facebook page http://www.facebook.com/tutorvista
