Some people can experience post-withdrawal symptoms of Lexapro (Escitalopram, Cipralexa). Apparently, i am one of them. I think people should know about this, so this substance should not be taken lightly. This article explains what I am talking about based on research: https://www.everydayhealth.com/columns/therese-borchard-sanity-break/is-it-withdrawal-or-depression-relapse/ Also, if you suffer from insomnia, this should really help: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YjJGfDHCaBU

This is a video explaining what happened when I went from 150 mg of Wellbutrin, up to 300mg daily. These experiences occurred when I was not on my anxiety medications. So if you are taking an anxiety medication along with Wellbutrin, it may offset these types of side affects. It's really hard to explain it clearly, so I apologize if my video is confusing. Thanks for watching.

All about my experience while stopping Zoloft! So thankful that I've been able to stop taking Sertraline, but the withdrawal symptoms are a bit of a roller coaster. If you are having the same results, just hang in there! It will definitely be worth it in the end!:) Keep in mind that this is my experience only and that you may not have the same results. I am not a doctor and this video is based on my opinions and no medical facts. Ask your doctor about the side effects and do not make any decisions based off of this video.

I've seen a lot of other videos on the topic of quitting the SSRI antidepressant Zoloft (sertraline) but not many on successfully getting through the withdrawals and coming through the other side safely. I hope this video is reassuring to anyone out there who is going through the same dilemma. If you have any question please feel free to ask/ or share your own experience. I'll explain what led me to do this and I hope it isn't too rambling. I have been taking Zoloft since 2011 and just recently have been told that manufacturing of the drug has ceased until Jan 2016. I don't know about the rest of the world but in Australia it has become like something out of Mad Max, with people trying to track down the last supplies. I tried the generic brand which I have been told is exactly the same. But after a month of this I began feeling more depressed/ sad than I ever have and began suffering from insomnia and blurred vision. The last straw for me was when I told my doctor of these changes and all I got in return was a cocky-bullshit answer that I must be imagining these changes. ''Yeah, well doc, I don't really want to imagine wanting to killing myself everyday, so politely go fuck yourself''. So I tried tappering off them from 100mg to 25mg (maybe to steep) and started noticing the withdrawals after a day. After a few days of this I stopped them completely and the dizziness became a constant thing. Week 2 brought with it the numbness and brain zaps. With week 3 came the insomnia/ aching joints. At about a month of stopping nearly all the signs have gone away. I may notice the dizziness if I move or look too quickly but you get used to doing things slow. So this video is just me telling you the withdrawal symptoms I experienced. It is not advised to just completely stop any antidepressant but I figured I was worse on the generic so I wanted to stop more than anything. I want to try and see what I am normal for a few months. The most important thing is being in the right headspace to do such a thing. Only try and go off them if you think you are ready. In my situation I have realised that most of the time if I feel anxious it is because of my surroundings and not what is going on in my head. Also avoid people who make you feel terrible. The world is made up of mainly idiots so it is more likely they have a problem and you don't. At least you have made the steps to help yourself. If I ever relapse into really bad depression/anxiety like I know that I can always go back on Zoloft. By then I think Pfizer would have mined the ''missing ingredients'' they need to make Zoloft from Mars.

Facebook Group for victims, not open to the public, but available if you have had a similar event: https://www.facebook.com/groups/241028905999497/ Severe adverse reaction to one 10mg pill of Lexapro (escitalopram) almost 5 years ago. I am attempting to share my experiences, thoughts and opinions about SSRI drugs and what happened to me. I live in Kentucky, United States. Please comment or send an email to discuss this issue. Lexapro, has ruined my life. One 10mg pill severely damaged my brain. 8 hours after taking the pill, I entered into a world of a neurological nightmare. I am afraid this happens more often than we know. I could have very easily been placed in a psyche-ward or accidentally killed myself the first few days after taking that pill. Then, no one would be able to tell my story. What happened........ After suffering a chronic sleep disorder for decades, I couldn't get more than 4 hours of sleep a night so I went to the doctor for some medical help. September 23rd 2006: The doctor prescribed Lexapro (10mg). So I took this pill having been reassured by frequent television adverstisements that it was safe. My doctor also acted as if these pills were harmless. I took the pill and went to sleep about noon. 8 hours later I woke to the most awful, strange, powerful inner sensations. I was also filled with a feeling of dread or horror. I had never experienced anything like this before and I couldn't believe it. It felt as if my brain was dying...... I jumped out of bed and ran around my house.... I couldn't stop moving or the sensations would get worse. Sheer horror! The symptoms: Many are similar to Serotonin Syndrome. Waves of nervous energy flowing through my body like painful electric shocks Inner tremor Mania Extreme pressure in head Couldn't lay down flat Extreme panic and fear...dread Sensations of my brain and body burning or sizzling, buzzing Intense disconnected feeling from reality High Fever (103) Flu-like symptoms Terrible headache Extreme nausea Waves of sensations throughout my body and skin Visual hallucinations Visual impairments Dizzy spells Unable to exercise much unable to tolerate caffeine, alcohol and other vitamins or medicines Akathisia (inability to stop moving) Panic Showering would hurt my skin Unable to lay down Dizziness Loud ringing in the ears (High frequency) Racing and violent thoughts BRAIN ZAPS (Immediate equilibrium interruption or disruption) Racing, uncontrollable thoughts unable to control emotions Inability to focus Unable to listen to music Unable to listen to music High fever Flu-like symptoms (exactly like the flu) Profuse sweating Unable to distinguish TV from reality Felt like being out of reality Anxiety Depression (due to circumstances) Hyper-sensitivity to almost everything Screaming upon waking I really didn't think I was going to survive. It has been over 4 years since then and I have had to deal with some of these symptoms, in varying degrees, since then. I made slow progress over the years but unfortunately I haven't recovered completely. Plus, since then I have been having unexplained strokes.

💪⚡ Try Online Counseling: http://tryonlinetherapy.com/johnniejune If you are struggling with anxiety, depression or any other mental illness consider online counseling with a licensed professional at BetterHelp. It’s far cheaper and more convenient than in-person counseling. Believe me, you are worth it. Depression and anxiety are two things that I have dealt with for most of my (almost) 22 years. However, after many tries, I found the right antidepressant for me....Zoloft! Comment below if you have ever used Zoloft [Sertraline] and let me know how it affected you.

I was prescribed Paxil about 6.5-7 months ago. Regardless of what the doctor had told me, there are side effects and they are not pleasant. Since beginning Paxil, I had decided to get off of this drug and so far not so good. I do not feel that my problems warranted this prescription and I was ignorant and naïve and now ... I am so filled with rage over the makers of this poison and the doctors that hand it out like candy.

This is a video I did when I first attempted to quit Effexor.. it is real and not fake... pretty scary! My Horrible Nightmares - Recorded Live - Effexor Medication Withdrawal & Brain Zaps https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NqoV_... Info on not taking Venafaxine and the possible adverse side effects Venlafaxine is a widely used serotonin- and norepinephrine-reuptake inhibitor-type antidepressant that causes serious adverse effects in at least 5% of cases. Serious withdrawal symptoms may occur within hours of cessation or reduction of the usual dosage and may affect motor and coordination skills to such a degree that patients should be explicitly urged either to adhere to a strict medication routine or not to drive a car. Recent clinical evidence about withdrawal symptoms is presented that may indicate incidents in noradrenergic activity irrespective of dosage. Serotonin, Noradrenaline Withdrawal Venlafaxine hydrochloride (Effexor, Dobupal) is a phenylethylamine-derivative antidepressant and anxiolytic agent that acts as a serotonin- and noradrenaline-reuptake inhibitor (SNRI). It is used primarily in major depressive disorder, with labeled uses including generalized anxiety disorder and social phobia. Nonlabeled uses include depressive symptom remission, obsessive-compulsive disorder, and chronic pain syndromes. Most selective serotonin-reuptake inhibitors (SSRI) and SSNRIs are reported to cause serious adverse effects in approximately 5% of patients, according to its manufacturer. Venlafaxine is no exception. Among the adverse effects are a number of withdrawal symptoms that form "discontinuance syndromes," sometimes mistakenly identified with what Sternbach in 1991 proposed as the "serotonin syndrome". Venlafaxine's half-life is only 4 hours. Its primary metabolite, O-desmethylvenlafaxine, has a half-life of 10 hours. In the past 10 years, a number of clinical reports of severe venlafaxine withdrawal symptoms have been published, and for the most part these effects are duly reflected in generally available information. Widely consulted drug information services, such as Medscape DrugInfo, American Hospital Formulary Service Drug Information, and First DataBank, list the following withdrawal symptoms as "serious": agitation, anorexia, anxiety, confusion, impaired coordination, diarrhea, dizziness, dry mouth, dysphoric mood, fasciculation, fatigue, headaches, hypomania, insomnia, nausea, nervousness, nightmares, sensory disturbances (including shock-like electrical sensations), somnolence, sweating, tremor, vertigo, and vomiting. Recent Case Histories: Withdrawal Effects Are Not Dose-Dependent Case 1: Standard Dose. Female, white, age 35, no other pathologies, diagnosed for major depressive disorder with anger attacks. Treated with extended-release venlafaxine 150 mg for 4 months with concurrent psychotherapy, with positive results: Beck's Depression Inventory score reduced from 38 to 14; functionality restored. The patient ran out of medication on a Thursday and could not get in touch with her doctor until the next Monday. On Friday, only 12 hours after the usual time of taking the medication, she felt a noticeable change in mood, dizziness, and nausea. She experienced a sensation in her head as if electrical discharges "popped" and could not concentrate to the extent that she was unable to drive her car back from where she had gone. By Friday evening (18 hours after cessation), the "popping" in her head had become worse and she vomited after dinner. Depression symptoms reappeared acutely, and she could not stop crying. At first, she did not equate these symptoms to the missed dose of venlafaxine, but thought she might have contracted the flu. However, the symptoms continued and intensified over the weekend and only reduced when, on Monday, she started again on venlafaxine. She was inadvertently given the lower dose of 75 mg, which did not quite restore her mood to the previous level, although the "electrical popping" sensation in her head stopped and the nausea was reduced. Case 2: High Dose. (Provided by J. Garcia Campayo, MD, PhD, Dept of Psychiatry, Miguel Servet Hospital, University of Zaragoza, Spain) Female, white, age 43, first diagnosis of major depressive disorder of moderate intensity; maternal history of depressive disorder. Successfully treated with 225 mg of venlafaxine (75-75-75) for 12 months with no adverse effects. The patient decided she could do without the medication and stopped taking it abruptly. Withdrawal effects appeared within a day and included headaches, dizziness, and instability, with a sense of losing balance (although she did not actually fall down), sense of sparks and electrical discharges in her head, and intense anxiety. When treatment at the original level was reinstated and progressively reduced over a period of 2 weeks, the symptoms disappeared. If you have taken antidepressant medication like Zoloft, Prozac or Lexapro to name a few, you may have experienced bizarre or intense dreams. This very disturbing, it does not mean the medication is making you worse. Antidepressants suppress the REM stage of sleep which is the stage where you dream. The effect of this suppression is that you can get REM rebound where you experience very intense dreams. Changing medication may help as the effect may not manifest as much with the different medication. Sertraline is an antidepressant in the SSRI class. It’s used for depression, anxiety, panic disorder, OCD, and a number of other conditions. After entering the market in the early 1990s, sertraline became one of the most popular antidepressants. The drug is used in adults, adolescents, and children. There might be greater concerns and lower efficacy in young people. If you take either of these two antidepressants together with an amphetamine, watch out. You can significantly become overdosed on the amphetamine through drug interactions. Often the interaction can unpredictably occur several months later. The patient becomes toxic to the amphetamine, angry, irrational, can't sleep, can't eat, or can become dangerously destructive - even psychotic. The Adderall/Vyvanse/amphetamine often gets blamed. The Prozac and the Paxil are the problems due to inhibiting the metabolism. To listen on iTunes, click here: For iTunes, click here: https://itunes.apple.com/gb/podcast/lets-talk-withdrawal-truth-about-antidepressant-drugs/id1212789850?mt=2 This week, we talk to Claire who shares her powerful story of being prescribed antidepressants at the age of 16 and her experiences of trying to withdraw. She describes how she tapered gradually over 2 years but went on to experience SSRI discontinuation syndrome. In this episode we discuss: How Claire was prescribed an antidepressant at a very early age. How she was told lies about a chemical imbalance to justify treatment and that she would need the drugs for life. That there was nothing by way of follow up after the antidepressant was prescribed unless Claire initiated a conversation with her doctors. That several antidepressants stopped working, forcing Claire to change medications. That several attempts to withdraw ended in failure because she was advised to withdraw too quickly and that reinstating a full dose was the only solution. That Claire felt trapped and like a prisoner, thinking she was stuck on the drugs for life and was she ever going to be able to get off them. That a very slow taper over two years was the only way for Claire to be able to tolerate the significant, widespread and very unpleasant physical and psychological effects of withdrawal. That Claire had to fight with doctors to get a liquid version of her medication which was the only way she could taper slowly. Claire's experience of SSRI discontinuation syndrome. That Facebook communities provided vital support to fill the gaping hole in mainstream medicines understanding and knowledge of prescribed drug dependance and withdrawal. Being told by doctors that Claire's experiences were not real and that she should be "over it in a few weeks" That mainstream medicine makes incorrect and dangerous assumptions about the length and severity of antidepressant withdrawal. http://bodyhealthsoul.com/ | Common Methods of Depression Treatment-With their Side-Effects and Possible Withdrawal Symptoms Alright, we previously just went through the “Definition” of depression from the 2 sides of the Medical Fraternity. One side saying it’s a chemical imbalance and a ‘mental disorder’ and the other side saying (which I tend to agree with) that Depression is an emotional encumbrance as a result of external factors. But, let’s go over the common methods of treating depression, from the medical standpoint AND their alleged side effects. Folks, the usual method for dealing with depression is often times prescription meds or drugs, but like I have stated in several of my videos, MOST forms of medication do not deal with the ROOT CAUSE OF AN ISSUE but more so the SYMPTOMS. So what happens is a patient often times has to depend on medication for a long period of time. So, who really is profiting from this whole chain of events? Obviously it’s the maker of the drugs! IN FACT if you go to the website of one of the popular anti-depressant drugs, whose name I’m withholding for legal reasons it says: What is the most important information I should know about THIS PARTICULAR ANTI-DEPRESSANT® The response is-THIS DRUG and other antidepressant medicines may cause serious side effects, including: Suicidal thoughts or actions: THIS DRUG and other antidepressant medicines may increase suicidal thoughts or actions in some children, teenagers, or young adults within the first few months of treatment or when the dose is changed. So, in other words, what I am gathering from this is the side-effects of some of these popular anti-depressants are actually the same symptoms of depression! How contradictory and odd is that. Then, when some people are actually made aware of some of the side effects of these drugs, they panic naturally (like they should) and want to STOP using these drugs. But this leads to withdrawal symptoms. Well, let’s discuss this more in this video shall we? Side effects of taking medication are written everywhere, with warning signs, etc but many do not talk about the WITHDRAWAL effects of some of these medications. These withdrawal effects can be shocking, dangerous, and at times life threatening. Here is my experience with Effexor XR withdrawal, as well as Ativan, and other meds I have tried. I have found that the longer I am on a medication, as well as higher the dosage, the worse the withdrawal symptoms. This is only my experience, to let you know that this does occur, and creating awareness. Please consult a doctor, or professional if you are experiencing withdrawal symptoms. Mental disorder diagnosis is a FRAUD. There is NO diagnostic scientific test for any “mental disorder” (Depression, ADHD, Etc.) “The Therapeutic State” is an alliance between psychiatry and the government to control people. Psychology has become a referral source for psychiatry, which is in partnership with Big-Pharma. SSRI's are KNOWN to induce violent behavior (Homicide, Suicide, Hallucinations, Aggressiveness, Agitation.) Read the BLACK WARNING LABEL. These drugs are being prescribed liked candy.
