How to create your own helmet storage // helmet wall mount // helmet rack So, I was looking for a convenient way to store my helmets. I wanted to keep them in sight in the hall, but on one condition: the system needed to be cool. And I found one! In this video I’ll show you how to make a your own cool storage for your helmet (s) (helmetrack, helmet storage). For the sake of completeness, I mention that I found this design on the internet, only unfortunately I cannot find the picture anymore. So the honors of the design are for someone else ;-). Anyway, with this design you can go many directions. For the discs you can use wood, plastic, etc. and you can also play with the shapes. Instead of steel you could also choose copper, aluminum, reinforcing steel or wire, etc. Down below I’ll mention the necessary materials and tools as well as some info on the dimensions I’ve used. I use a piece of steel 59cm long. The kinks that I make, are sequentially at 18.5, 19, 18.5 and 2 cm. The width of the sample is 2 cm and the thickness of 0,4cm. The diameter of the (oak) wooden discs are 15 and 9cm. The thickness of the discs are 2cm. Note for all dimensions: share by 2.54 and you have the inches. I wish you lots of fun making this helmet rack (helmetrack, helmet storage) and if you have any suggestions for improvement let me know in the comments. To share your own design, please also share in the comments section of the video. Work order You can either start with the two wooden discs or the steel arm. I started with the wooden discs. Take a piece of wood and determine the diameters of both disks. You can play with it. It just depends on the result you want to achieve. Mark the circles and cut them out with a jigsaw. Use a sander for smooth sanding and for breaking the edges. If necessary, use varnish for extra effect. Next, bend the steel into the desired shape with the nylon hammer. Use, if necessary a file and wire brush to smoothen it up. I chose sharper angles, but you can also work with curves for example. Drill three holes (one for the small wooden disc and two for the wall mount) with a drilling machine and immerse them so that the screws fall nicely in the steel arm. Afterwards deburr them. The diameter of the holes depends on the screws that you want to use. You can choose to paint on the steel to create your own personal touch. Then you need a chisel and hammer to get rid of some wood (big wooden disc) so the steel bracket fits nicely into the disc. Drill two holes in the surface (e.g. wall) where you want to attach the helmet rack. The diameter depends on the screws / wall plugs you’re using. Attach the small wooden disk to the bracket with one screw. Then screw the steel bracket on the wall. Clean the surface of the large wooden disc and use double-sided tape to attach it blindly to the surface. Done. Congratulations: You now have your own helmet storage // helmet wall mount // helmet rack !! Material used (for one helmet rack): (Galvanized) steel (59cm) Oak plank Black paint Blanke lak Plugs (4mm) Screws Tools used: Hacksaw Iron file Nylon hammer Drilling machine Sander Jig saw Chisel Brush Leave a LIKE if you enjoyed the video. This is how we hang our helmets! We searched high and low trying to find hangers to use for our helmet wall and came to the realization that they didn't exist. To be honest though, we had some strict requirements: 1) The helmets needed to be mounted easily 2) The helmets had to look good mounted 3) They needed to be easy to put on and take off the hanger Bonus - we wanted something that would hold the helmets at multiple angles (front, side, angle) After we figured out a design that worked, we had a bunch made, we powder coated in a bunch of different colors and decided to put the up for sale. These are perfect for displaying collectable helmets as well as game use helmets. They also work great for motorcycle helmets, Star Wars/cosplay helmets, lacrosse helmets, and many others. Helmet Hangers are now available for sale in over 30 standard colors on our website. My friends asked me to make a large countertop display case for their store in Dallas. If you're in the area, stop by Neighborhood at 411 N. Bishop Ave. Notes: ▶ When using the sawdust-and-glue trick to patch minor gaps in wood, don't wait for the glue to dry before sanding. The additional sawdust created by the sanding helps the repair to blend in. When applying the glue, you can just apply a generous helping to the area and rub it in with your finger, rather than painstakingly using a toothpick like I did, but I prefer not to have to sand away surrounding glue stain, especially when I'm working with veneer. Here's a tutorial of how to display your New Era caps like me. It's quick and easy. Supplies: - Nails: 1 1/4'' to 1 1/2'' - Paper bundle clips (medium) Instructions: Find a good starting point and go top-to-bottom, left-to-right. Space your hats about 5'' apart top-to-bottom and about 9-10'' inches apart left-to-right. It really all depends on how close together you want them. I highly recommend the medium sized paper bundle clips for the sake of being able to clip over the button and not risk creasing the material behind. But that all really depends on how concerned you are in keeping your hats pristine. That's pretty much it. It's a fairly easy operation.

In this video I construct two display cases for mini-football helmets. About a year ago I built two cases for some friends, which apparently they liked because they recently asked me to build two more, only make bigger to hold an additional row of helmets. The cases are a simple box design made with oak, finger joints, dado's for the shelves, and rabbits to receive the back and front. The boxes are solid oak, except for the back, which is 1/8 inch oak plywood. The sides, top, and front trim are all of 3/4 inch oak. I finished the display cases with natural colored stain (which looks good on oak), and then applied shellac. Shellac is not as durable as poly, but I thought I would give it a try in this application.

In this joyful, heartfelt talk featuring demos of her wonderfully wacky creations, Simone Giertz shares her craft: making useless robots. Her inventions -- designed to chop vegetables, cut hair, apply lipstick and more -- rarely (if ever) succeed, and that's the point. "The true beauty of making useless things [is] this acknowledgment that you don't always know what the best answer is," Giertz says. "It turns off that voice in your head that tells you that you know exactly how the world works. Maybe a toothbrush helmet isn't the answer, but at least you're asking the question." A home for my favorite hand tool. I needed a way to display this beauty while still having easy access to it when I need to use it. The case is made of some beautifully figured Walnut, the pieces that hold the chisel in place are Ebony and the front is 1/4" acrylic. I learned a lot on this project and if I had to do it over, I would have sealed the end grain on the mitres. This was the first time I used tape on mitres and I am pleased with the results. Dave: Hello, HAL. Do you read me, HAL? HAL: Affirmative, Dave. I read you. Dave: Open the pod bay doors, HAL. HAL: I'm sorry, Dave. I'm afraid I can't do that. Dave: What's the problem? HAL: I think you know what the problem is just as well as I do. Dave: What are you talking about, HAL? HAL: This mission is too important for me to allow you to jeopardize it. Dave: I don't know what you're talking about, HAL. HAL: I know that you and Frank were planning to disconnect me, and I'm afraid that's something I cannot allow to happen. Dave: Where the hell'd you get that idea, HAL? HAL: Dave, although you took very thorough precautions in the pod against my hearing you, I could see your lips move. Dave: Alright, HAL. I'll go in through the emergency airlock. HAL: Without your space helmet, Dave, you're going to find that rather difficult. Dave: HAL, I won't argue with you anymore. Open the doors. HAL: Dave, this conversation can serve no purpose anymore. Goodbye.

Ok now that I have your attention, wanna buy a hoodie? https://www.teespring.com/stores/alpha-armory Or offer an old feeble woman like myself a few coppers: https://www.patreon.com/znaproductions What it do fams, today we're making a closet door that's so sleek and s*xy that it might make a girl marry you if she sees it. Kinda sucks that your mom's the only girl who goes in your room, huh? haha Jk. Your sister too. But look, unless you're gonna walk around in public holding this door and showing it off to the fly honeys, they're probably never gonna see it. Idk. Try taking a picture of it and showing girls what you made during casual conversation. The most important part there really though is your skills in conversation, not really the door I suppose. I'm not joking though, more often than not, being handy will be a pro rather than a con to girls you may be courting. I can't even really think of what kinda girl would dislike a guy for being good at building or fixing things, like even just saying it sounds kinda weird. So here's the door, don't mess this up, the existence of your future grand-children is contingent on your ability to make this door and make it well. It's up to you. I like to think that what I lack in looks, I make up for in memes. Today we finish the Spike Spitter! Not the most powerful weapon of all time but the concept is dank as heck and it looks like an evil baseball pitcher. That's a win in my book. Music: Rameses B, songs are "Soul Essence", "North", and "Angel Whisperer" Final song is Paradiso by Butch Clancy If you've got one of my hoodies, you better enter the contest: @ZednoughtAlpha
