In 2008 a group of friends and myself decided that we were going to do a senior prank at the end of the year. At Tantasqua Region High School in 2007 the seniors left a mess behind as they dug up the lawn, wrote 2007 and filled it with cement. We were not looking to damage any school property and were just hoping for a few laughs from our fellow students. The prank consisted of building a giant "For Sale" sign and placing it in front of the school and at the same time using window paint to write 08 all around the building. We had informed the principle that we were going to do this but when we woke up later that day and took the bus to school all of the prank had been removed. This was extremely frustrating so we decided to plan another prank. This is that story. For a few articles: http://www.telegram.com/article/20080520/NEWS/805200478 or Google: Tantasqua Duck Prank. Rockland County, NY - Tensions are again running high in the East Ramapo School District after police were summoned to the Grandview Elementary School in Monsey today to respond to complaints of trespassing by Orthodox Jewish families. Newsday reports (http://bit.ly/OCd4t2) that local parents say they are justifiably concerned about Jewish strangers accessing the public school and using it as a shortcut to their homes or synagogues during the Jewish holidays. Today marked the first time security guards and parent volunteers were stationed at the school to prevent families from cutting through the premises. Security will be in place for the remainder of the Sukkot holiday. "My number one concern is the children's safety outside when they're at recess," said Grandview Principal Patricia Smith. "It is a concern when our children are outside and having people other than the school personnel being outside. In this day and age, when we don't know who's who, it worries me." Ignoring the "no trespassing" sign posted in front of the school, religious Jews continued to cross the playground, resulting in a shouting match between the guards and members of the Jewish community. "At the end of the day, there's no trespassing," said Cassandra Edwards, a parent volunteer. "You can walk to the front of the building and you can read it. If it says no trespassing, then all we want is for people to respect that." But Esti Grossberger defended use of the shortcut, saying it shortened the walk between her and her parents' home by half. "They're camping out and attacking us like wolves," Grossberger said of the school district. "Why would you do this in the rain when you know we don't drive on the holidays? Seriously? You're not getting rid of the Jews." One parent volunteer said she was called an anti-Semite when she politely asked a group of Jews not to walk through the playground and to find a different route instead. As the argument between the guards and the religious Jews continued to escalate, police were called to the school and a report was taken. No arrests were made. Security officers have also been posted at Lime Klin Elementary School in Suffern, Ramapo High School and Kakiat Middle School in Spring Valley, and Elmwood Elementary School in Monsey. Joel Klein, the East Ramapo School Superintendent said the district is working on a plan to resolve the trespassing issue, which may include putting up fencing and additional signage.

Seniors, it's time to enroll in college. The goal of College Decision Day is to recognize high school seniors for their postsecondary plans and encourage younger students and families to prepare early for postsecondary education. "Every 15 Minutes" is a two-day program focusing on high school juniors and seniors, which challenges them to think about drinking, driving, personal safety, and the responsibility of making mature decisions. Along with alcohol-related crashes, it focuses on the impact that their decisions would have on family and friends. The Every 15 Minutes program starts months in advance of the actual presentation, in fact the very first program at a school will take about one-year to plan and prepare. This includes all of the involved agencies, the hospital, court, lawyers, judge, coroner/funeral home, students, parents and school administrators. Student participants are selected to cover the full spectrum of the student body, thus, the audience will be able to relate to at least one of the participants on the crash day.

My friend and I decided to plan the best school prank ever for our senior year. School pranks are a tradition during Peddie Week, the week where Blair Academy and their rival, the Peddie School, compete in various athletic events for the Kelley-Potter Cup. After two months of planning, testing, and applying everything we've learned in AP Physics, this is what we came up with. We took off from our local airport in a Cessna 172 and dropped a bunch of rubber chickens attached to parachutes after we won the Girls Varsity Soccer game. And yes, everything we did was legal. If you have doubts, check FAR parts 91.15 and 121.657. Shout out to Christopher Reilly for being an awesome bombardier and co-conspirator.

A group of seniors (SES) from Weston Ranch High Schools class of 2012 in Stockton,Ca got together to do the greatest senior prank the school has ever witnessed. This went down the night of March 6, and 7. It took a couple of meetings and recon to plan, but a total of three hours to execute, from midnight to around 3ish, and the school was generous enough to leave a gate open for us.
