You don’t want those extra pounds, so in this video I’ll show you how to keep belly fat under control by starving your fat cells, without starving yourself. Menopause changes two things: 1. It change where fat is stored on your body (i.e. more gets deposited in your midsection and less in your lower body). 2. It changes where estrogen is produced. The ovaries no longer make estrogen, but your fat cells do, so higher body fat% is not frowned upon by your post-menopausal body. Cortisol is another hormone that is not automatically thought about with menopause, but it contributes to belly fat. Think of cortisol as the stress hormone, physical or emotional stress, even a lack of sleep causes an increased release of cortisol. Bottom Line: you have to work with your body during and after menopause to get it to do what you want. The trick is to starve your fat cells without starving yourself. Menopause encourages weight gain, and it can start as early as your 30's. In this video, Dr. Becky explains how changes in your hormones encourage weight gain in your lower body when you’re in your thirties and forties. And, how those same hormones cause weight gain in the belly in your fifties and beyond. Hormones and Weight Gain Progesterone is a hormone that is primarily produced by your ovaries after ovulation. Estrogen is produced by your ovaries all month long, but can also be produced by your fat cells. You can enter early perimenopause in your 30’s. In this stage, it’s not unusual to skip ovulation a few times a year. The missed ovulation means there is less progesterone produced, which leads to a condition called estrogen dominance. A symptom of estrogen dominance is weight gain in the hips and thighs. Menopause and Belly Fat As you age, your period becomes increasingly irregular, and then stops when you reach menopause. At and beyond menopause, both estrogen and progesterone are low. Your body tries to get more estrogen from your fat cells by encouraging fat production. My 57-year old Wife, Karen Used This Simple 12-Minute Protocol To Get in the Best Shape of Her Life: http://gl12.net/ytfightmenopausebelly I'm going to introduce you to three exercises that are specifically designed to reactivate declining fat loss hormones for people in their 40s, 50s, or 60s. So if you're over 35 years old, stop by, pay close attention, because these three exercises are specifically designed to help you quickly lose belly fat. And what I'm going to do is I'm going to give you modifications for all three of these exercises, which are a part of a system I've created called the Over 40 Ab Solution. And this is the same exact system my wife Karen and I have used for over 10 years to look years younger than our real age. People always ask us how we look so much younger than our real age. My wife is actually 11 years older than me she's 57. I'm 46, we have four beautiful grandkids, and the movements that I'm going to introduce you to here in a second that are part of our system that you'll find at the link around this video, is how my wife was able to get rid of her menopause belly. About 10 years ago when we first met, she was diagnosed with colorectal cancer and this forced her into early menopause. And she accumulated a ton of upper belly fat. So the three movements I'm going to show you right now is how she flattened her belly. So these three exercises are number one-- the burpee. I'm going to give you a modification of the burpee to make it easy no matter what age you are. I'm also going to show you a lunge and a couple of variations of one just for beginners, intermediate, and advanced. And I'm also going to show you a couple of variations of what we call a mountain climber. Now, when these three exercises are performed in a strategic sequence with strategic rest periods and strategic intensity levels, it only takes 12 minutes per day to reactivate your declining fat loss hormones, and help you quickly lose more belly fat. Now, when you do this for 30 to 60 seconds, timed. You're not going to count reps, you're just going to time it for 30 to 60 seconds. Going as hard as you can go for your personal condition. Now, there are a couple more things I want to share about my system. So again, when these three exercises are done in a strategic sequence, you'll get all kinds of benefits, hormonally, to help you quickly lose belly fat.

Allow it to cool for 2-3 minutes, till broccoli and carrots become tender 14. Add the tofu along with the soy sauce in the bowl 15. Stir this well 16. Cook for 2 more minutes 17. Once done, season it with pepper 18. The answer is YES. The adrenals are normally supposed to help counter a drop in blood sugar and when you do intermittent fasting with adrenal issues, you could have a hard time because of the drop in blood sugars. The hormone called cortisol is what is called a glucocorticoid, which is a glucose regulating hormone. So the adrenals are definitely connected to blood sugars. Cortisol if too high can mobilize more sugar and even turn your body protein into sugar thus raising your insulin and even causes insulin resistance or diabetes. So in other words, if your cortisol is high, chances are you could also have high insulin. This means you need to do things to lower insulin – ketogenic diet and intermittent fasting! Here are some tips: 1. Take electrolytes to increase potassium and other minerals 2. B vitamins (nutritional yeast) 3. Sea salt - the adrenals need more sodium, because they lose more. 4. Trace minerals, esp, chromium and zinc. 5. More protein 6. Omega 3 (Krill is great) 7. Take long walks 8. Go slow - go at this gradually and eventually you'll be in full keto adaptation and no longer running only on glucose (avoid the blood sugar swings). Hi guys, in this video we are going to talk about is it safe for a menopausal women with adrenal fatigue to do ketogenic diet and intermittent fasting. There are some confusion about this things are floating out there that says it is dangerous and don’t do ketogenic diet and intermittent fasting if your adrenals are stressed especially if you are going through menopause but it is the exact thing that you need to do but you need to do it correctly. The problem is that when you get into your 40’s to 60’s, the adrenal gland takes over and backs up the ovary so you actually put more stress on the adrenal gland so what happens it has a hard time countering this drop in blood sugar as you go longer between three meals when you do intermittent fasting. The blood sugars are not able to rebound like you should so you feel dizzy and weak and all of the sudden you eat and feel better and then you think that you would need to eat more frequently, No. It just means that we need to strengthen the adrenals and tweaks some things because here is the main issue, with adrenal fatigue you are going to have higher levels of cortisol. Cortisol, another name for cortisol is called glucocorticoid – that is a glucose releasing hormones. When cortisol is high, you are going to release more glucose which is more sugar and increase more insulin. Adrenal problems in general have higher problems in insulin and we are trying to fix that because the insulin is going to create the insulin resistance and keep people from losing weight. So if you are trying to lose weight and you are menopausal and stuck, you need to do ketogenic diet and intermittent fasting but you want to do it more gradually. Now, a lot of women tell me how they struggle with their weight throughout menopause. They tend to find that they put weight on around their stomach and that the old diets that used to work stop working. There are actually reasons to explain why this happens, and I'm going to be going through that with you today. Now, as we women get older, we do drop in our female hormones, being estrogen and progesterone. Those are the hormones that give us that hourglass shape, but as we age, these hormones drop, and we tend to, unfortunately, gain weight around our stomach. Although it's really unfortunate, there are still some things that you can do to help. So what are the three things to avoid if you want to lose weight throughout menopause? Number one, stay away from any of the old diets that you used to use. Often when you cut your calories very low, like most typical diets do, you break down your muscle tissue. This can lead to a drop in your metabolism, and then you'll start putting on more weight, and it will usually go straight to your stomach. What you need is an individualized and tailored approach to your nutrition that considers your age and your lifestyle. A one size fits all fad diet is not going to help you out at this stage of your life. The second thing to avoid is eliminating food groups. You want to eat from all of the food groups. This is a time when you need to have dairy because calcium absorption can be low, and this can put you at risk of osteoporosis. You don't want to go cutting out carbohydrates, which can affect your thyroid, or any gimmicky type of diet. Thirdly, walking alone is not going to be enough, so if you're not adding in any resistance training in the form of using weights, resistance bands, or body weight exercises, you are going to be prone to putting on weight because your metabolism has dropped.
