The Bentley Love Your Melon crew really had all hands on deck for this challenge. With our entire crew in presence and all of the volunteers we have accumulated over the semester, we made a huge impact on our campus. We had 3 parts to the challenge, storming our dining hall, hosting a s'mores making event to "learn s'more about LYM" and having an online raffle for a beanie for following us on social media. From 7-8 we stormed our dining hall at one of the busiest times for people to eat dinner (after the last class of the day) and gave out business cards we created with special instructions to select bentley at checkout and LYM bracelets. We also used this time to tell people to "come learn s'more about LYM". We hosted a s'mores making event outside our student center in a firepit with tons of s'mores supplies and crew members to talk about Love Your Melon. We reached about 200 people with this initiative! For the s'more event, we created a facebook event which we also had our entire crew share to invite all of their friends at Bentley to come make s'mores and learn more. During this timeframe we also had a facebook raffle for a beanie going for anyone who liked our facebook and instagram page and commented on our facebook post! This was a great way for our facebook page to get more likes and instagram to get more follows - over 50 today alone! We used the time by the firepits to tell people about the challenge and spread the word about LYM and Cyber Monday for the last few hours. Students were so receptive and we even had people who had already purchased items come by to support and talk to others about why they purchased a hat. We had about 100 people at our "learn s'more about LYM" event. We had so many family member's and friends from other schools even wanting to be involved and we allowed them to enter the raffle and encouraged them to buy a hat today! We were so excited because so many people already told us they knew about Cyber Monday from our posts and many even said they were planning on purchasing hats. Today was hands down our crew's largest impact on the campus and for a school of just about 4,000 people, we had a huge turnout!

After 18 months of bargaining, the faculty at University of Illinois at Chicago (UIC) is headed for a two-day strike on Tuesday, February 18th and Wednesday, February 19th. UIC professors did not want it to come to this, but the trustees' proposals continue to short change both faculty and students. UIC administration continues to hike tuition to the point it has amassed hundreds of millions in profits each year and more than a billion dollars in reserves, yet refuses to pay professors what they're worth. Many members of the faculty who teach first-year students only make $30,000 a year! Please join us at a number of events organized by UIC faculty to bring attention to their issues. Picketing: 9 a.m.- 4 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 18 & Wednesday, Feb.19. Warming stations will be available both days. Rally: 10 a.m. -- 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, Feb 18. Same location as picketing. Speakers will include faculty leaders, students, campus workers and community organizations. Overpass Light Brigade banner: 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday over the Racine/290 overpass. Participants will display LED lights with a message of solidarity for striking faculty to evening commuters. Demonstration: 7 p.m., Tuesday, Feb. 18 outside the Battle of the Deans basketball shootout at the UIC Pavilion. Faculty hope that a strong showing of support will convince the administration to settle the contract soon, with minimal disruption to students, as opposed to the possibility of a strike near the end of the semester. Logistics: Picketing will be mainly around the lecture centers on the East Campus, but we will dispersing to the main classroom and administration buildings at certain times. If you are unfamiliar with the area, there is easy access through Student Center East at 750 South Halsted (just below Harrison). Enter the east side of the building, walk through to the west side, and you'll be on the lecture quad. There is parking right across Halsted in the Taylor Street Garage (access via Taylor and Polk, just off Halsted). Student Center East is also 1 block south of the UIC/Halsted Blue Line stop (take the far east exit). Rally will be held on the lecture quad on the East Campus. West Campus picketers will have Public Health as a center. Go to the SPHPI building at 1603 W. Taylor Street. That's where you'll get your signs and further directions. To warm up, plan on going into the hospital lobby. Strike headquarters and designated warming station will be at The Jane Addams Hull House during the day. The Hull House is located at 800 S. Halsted, Chicago, IL 60607. Food, coffee, and restrooms will be available from 9:00-4:00 at Hull House for those taking breaks from picketing. Labor films will also be playing continuously throughout the day. At night, strike headquarters will be located at the IFT office at 850 W. Jackson, Suite 220, Chicago, IL 60607. If you get lost or have questions, call Nick Christen at 217-303-6456, Joyce Lieberman at 312-590-1588 or Dawn Tefft at 414-962-3443. Donations: The Jane Addams Hull House is volunteering the dining hall for our warming station. Coffee and snacks will be available. Food donations are appreciated and can be sent directly to the Hull House located at 800 S. Halsted, Chicago, IL 60607. Any monetary donations can be sent to the IFT office at 850 W. Jackson, Suite 220, Chicago, IL 60607. Messages of support: Please wear blue on the days of the strike. Graduate students and other campus workers who must cross the picket line to work can wear blue armbands in solidarity. If you want to write a public statement of support to be published on our website, email it to firstname.lastname@example.org Twitter messages of support can be tweeted with the hashtag #UICStrike. If you want to write the administration and let them know UIC United Faculty deserve a fair contract, send an email to UI President Robert A. For an operator, it can be very overwhelming to think about seizing opportunities to grow a business from single unit to multi-unit operations, all while maintaining or improving their brand identity. You may ask yourself: How can I focus on business development while keeping up with my day-to-day responsibilities to my current customers and employees? On a previous episode of “On Foodable Weekly,” we spoke to restaurateur Sam Fox, from Fox Restaurant Concepts in Phoenix, about the hurdles to conquer when it comes to restaurant expansion. In today’s episode, we traveled to Nashville, Tenn., to chat with Matthew Bodnar, a partner at Fresh Hospitality, a company that helps scale chef-driven concepts into multi-unit businesses with self-sustainable and profitable business models. We sat down with Bodnar at Cochon Butcher, a concept in its early stages of scaling by Fresh Hospitality. Bodnar explains Fresh’s mission is to help entrepreneurs grow. This is my summer dorm room at FSU! I haven't had the chance to make a video on here in a while because I have literally been so busy! FSU has been amazing and I am so glad I picked it in the end! The people are great, the campus is beautiful, and there is always something going on, so you are always busy. I'm here for summer right now, staying Reynolds, so I am only taking two classes, so the workload there has been super light. More information: Dorm Life- Living on campus is an excellent experience; you meet so many people through social events hosted by the halls and just being around so many residents. No matter where you are living, you will befriend people in other halls, don't even think that you won't! The suite style dorms, as I said, are very spacious, and customizable in that you can add a lot and move things around. I am in a double, but I have been in a triple and a single and they have about the same share of a room (i.e. you aren't getting jipped with a triple, however you are sharing with two people so you might feel like it, and singles do, of course, look like they have slightly more room, but its all roughly equal.) The walls are a bit thin, no matter where you go, so you do hear the people in the hall and vice versa. The RAs tend to be super friendly, and they will hang out sometimes. Every floor has a kitchen and bathroom that you can use (suite or community - suite has just one tub/shower, toilet, and sink. I have not been in a community dorm yet so I cannot give much information there). All halls have a laundry room, rec room, lounge, and desk area where your RAs sit. You can rent cleaning supplies, kitchen supplies, games, etc. so its very useful. Dining - I had a block meal plan, so the number of times I could go to Suwanne or Fresh Foods was limited, but I have A LOT of excess meals. Unlimited is great if you like to stop in for a snack, but if you have food in your room, you will be okay. You can pay with flex bucks to get into the halls. The other options are great to, really all of the on campus food is great, versatile, and convenient. You can get by without a meal plan, but it really depends on how you eat and how often you eat. Either way, you get a lot of options if you will eat anything. The staff can be a bit... anal? They don't like when you sneak food out and you will get yelled at if you just grab the slice of pizza or cookies with your hands... Just be clean okay? Other than that, they're really nice and often funny! Ms. Killings will tell you that she loves you and you will feel special! Campus - I come from Florida, like most FSU students, and hills were new to me. It makes walking a bit more tedious but, hey, no Freshman 15 that way! Its gorgeous walking around campus, I will often wander around between classes and get to know the area more. Every Wednesday is Market Wednesday and students set up booths to sell things. Its really awesome and should definitely be checked out! Everything, for the most part, is brick, so keep that in mind when describing a building. Landis is beautiful to lay out and chill. A lot of activities take place out there and its basically the center point of campus. Beware of crazed bikers and long/penny/skateboarders because they sometimes creep up on you. Just be aware of your surroundings and don't go out by yourself at night (guy or girl) its very... dark and sketchy no matter where you are. The Union is another center point of campus and has food places, UPS, Club Downunder bowling, and paint-a-pot (the last two are the best places to spend an evening or afternoon!). If you have any questions about what I said or anything else, just comment below or message me!

If you have not visited Moore Athletics Center you are missing out a lot of Florida State Athletics history. This facility is actually much much bigger than just the entrance where the showcases are. At the main entrance you will be able to see all three FSU National Championship Trophies as well as baseball, soccer and other athletic achievements. Lucky for me; we beat Auburn in the National Championship game in 2013, the year I graduated from FSU as an Arts and Sciences student. I was able to visit and see our trophies many times. Take a look at what the main entrance looks like. You can look around since it is 360 video. The technology is kind of new so nevermind my face. It stitched just fine around the showcases. Enjoy the 360 video and please subscribe to my channel for more: http://goo.gl/Md7pyf The Coyle E. Moore Athletic Center is located on the north side of the beautiful University Center at Doak S. Campbell Stadium and is the hub of life for FSU's 400-plus student-athletes. It is home to the Athletics Administration and support staff and houses the Executive Staff, Business Office, Computer Information Services, Coaches' Video, Seminole Productions, College of Communication faculty offices and student edit rooms, Academic Support, Student Services, Compliance, Sports Information, Digital Media, Marketing and Promotions, Facilities and Event Management, classrooms, a dining facility with a full service kitchen, and a mailroom. Initially built in the 1950's as a football field house, the original infrastructure of the athletic center plumbing, sewage, and air-conditioning had become inadequate to the demands placed upon it by far more student-athletes and staff than it was designed for. In 2004, the Moore Building underwent an overhaul makeover to match the rest of the University Center with a more efficient floor plan to allow for more room for growth. The new facility caters to the student athlete's needs by housing an impressive dining hall, a 15,000 square foot training and rehab facility, and a more than 8,000 square foot tutorial and study hall space. A multi-purpose theatre for team meetings, press conferences, and symposiums is also located on the first floor of the Moore Athletic Center. The main level showcases Florida State's talented student-athletes with wall-to-wall vibrant memories of historic Seminole seasons and athletic achievements, including the 1993, 1999 and 2013 football national championships. In an effort to enhance the studies of Florida State students, there is also a designated space for athletic-training curriculum and a studio provided for the College of Communication students to gain hands on experience producing work for Seminole athletics. .
