We are eating below our calorie maintenance level and often the foods can be quite bland and boring. Herbs and spices can add flavour and taste to boring meals like chicken and brown rice. Even more importantly, these flavourful foods can actually help to loss weight and promote fat burning by the body. Lets discuss some herbs and spices that can help to melt away belly fat Cayenne is a strong spice that warms the body when we eat it. This is important for weight loss. Cayenne raises the temperature of the body and can help to boost metabolism. It has even been shown that adding this spice to your meals can actually help to burn calories after each meal. Try adding this spice to soups, dressings and dips. Turmeric can also help the body to burn fat due to its amazing active ingredient curcumin. Like cayenne, turmeric increases the temperature of our bodies when we eat it and can boost our metabolism, leading to calories being burnt and weight loss. Turmeric also has a wealth of health benefits and is packed with vitamins and minerals. Only a little bit of cumin can go a long way as it is quite strong. The high potassium content of coconut water has led researchers to investigate the potential benefits for reducing cardiovascular disease risk. Cranberries It is the high levels of the specific substance proanthocyanidins (PACs) that are found in cranberries that helps the body’s immune function to ward off illness and disease.
