How I survived terminal cancer w/ alternative cancer treatments

35:47
What really happens when someone has cancer therapy and they get home? What do their friends and family say? What happens when they try to eat an organic diet when no one else at home is? What happens when the whole family wants to go to Burger King and you stay home? Rick Hill knows what this is like and more because he underwent alternative cancer therapy 38 years ago after being diagnosed with stage three, high-grade embryonal cell carcinoma (cancer of the lymph system). Hill tells it like it is in this engaging video and offers real solutions to long term health. Most of all, he challenges cancer survivors to find a meaningful crusade in their life once returning home to make their life count. "After all," Rick says, "we didn't survive terminal cancer to make daisy chains..." For a while she had had migraines and double vision but she never thought it could be the symptoms of a brain tumor. With no hope for survival her and her mum decided to look for alternative treatments. Luckily they across the raw food diet 80/10/10 style at Arnolds Way, and it meant that Megan totally changed her diet to a raw vegan diet with low fat and lots of fruit. Today, four years later, the tumor has disappeared and she feels great. ----------------------------------- ABOUT FRUITY LOUISE ----------------------------------- Louise aka FruityLou is a Danish coach, speaker, author, television journalist and event maker. She used to be really ill herself but got well through a diet and lifestyle change. She has written the two most comprehensive books on natural healing and the 80/10/10 raw food diet published in Scandinavia. On top of that she has also written three e-books in Danish where her first one, the 'Get started Guide' has been translated into English - http://fruitylou.com/get-started-guide. Louise is a certified coach with years of experience helping people improve their health through mental and dietary changes. She is the organizer of the international and longest running 80/10/10 fruit festival in the world - the Fresh Food Festival http://www.freshfoodfestival.com As a speaker she has spoken on several stages both in Scandinavia and abroad including the Fresh Food Festival of course. As a journalist she has interviewed some of the most knowledgeable pioneers within the 80/10/10 / HCLF movement and she constantly work to keep herself updated with the latest information. ----------------------- LOUISE'S STORY ----------------------- For many years Louise suffered from both adrenal fatigue, liver problems, gout, low hormone production, anxiety attacks, depression, insomnia, low back pain, PMS, brain fog and about 30 other symptoms. Amongst others the doctor told her she had so severe cell and DNA damage that she was close to cancer and that she probably could not get pregnant either. Being a television journalist she knew that she had to research to find a new solution. She promised herself that if she ever got well she would use it in a positive way to help others and luckily she did. In 2009 she came across a super healthy diet and lifestyle that became the turning point in her entire life and in only a few years she healed herself naturally without any treatment or medication. Today she feels better than ever and she has dedicated her life to inspire and help others get their life and happiness back too. Thousands of people around the globe have already followed her inspirational tips and her 'Get started Guide' has been downloaded more than 2500 times. Intravenous Vitamin C for Terminal Cancer Patients

05:43
Studies in the 70’s appeared to show an extraordinary survival gain in terminal cancer patients with vitamin C, a simple, relatively nontoxic therapy. Subscribe to Dr. Greger’s free nutrition newsletter at https://www.nutritionfacts.org/subscribe and get a free recipe from his new HOW NOT TO DIE COOKBOOK. (All proceeds Dr. Greger receives from the sales of his books, DVDs, and speaking engagements go to support the 501c3 nonprofit that runs NutritionFacts.org.) Welcome to IV Vitamin C and cancer week on NutritionFacts.org! Sorry for the cliffhangers, but all will be revealed. It’s too important of a topic to not take a serious dive into, and so a single video could never do it justice. Stay tuned for Vitamin C Supplements for Terminal Cancer Patients (http://nutritionfacts.org/video/vitamin-c-supplements-for-terminal-cancer-patients) and The Role of Vitamin C in the Treatment of Terminal Cancer (http://nutritionfacts.org/video/the-role-of-vitamin-C-in-the-treatment-of-terminal-cancer). You’ll notice I sometimes take slight departures from just covering strictly nutrition topics (like my Do Antidepressant Drugs Really Work? http://nutritionfacts.org/video/do-antidepressant-drugs-really-work/ video). I don’t seek such topics out, but just run across them in my nutrition research and can’t help but get sucked down the rabbit hole. I really wish there were other sites like this that would do evidence-based reviews of these important topics. In fact, there should be a dozen more just on nutrition! LifestyleFacts.org (http://www.lifestylefacts.org/) is one attempt at covering other lifestyle medicine topics, and I know Dr. Mark Faries (http://fitnesspudding.com/) is considering doing something with ExerciseFacts.org. To facilitate this movement to provide us all with free, unbiased, science-based resources, I’d be happy to share the nitty gritty inner workings of NutritionFacts.org, in terms of how to get journal access, how to create the videos, etc. In fact, if there’s enough interest I may even do like a day-long seminar or something, but it would be limited to those who are seriously interested—it’s no small undertaking! More videos on cancer survival can be found here: • Cholesterol Feeds Breast Cancer Cells (http://nutritionfacts.org/video/Cholesterol-Feeds-Breast-Cancer-Cells) • Breast Cancer Survival Vegetable (http://nutritionfacts.org/video/breast-cancer-survival-vegetable/) • BRCA Breast Cancer Genes and Soy (http://nutritionfacts.org/video/brca-breast-cancer-genes-and-soy/) • Prostate Cancer Survival: The A/V Ratio (http://nutritionfacts.org/video/prostate-cancer-survival-the-av-ratio/) • Starving Cancer with Methionine Restriction (http://nutritionfacts.org/video/starving-cancer-with-methionine-restriction/) • Anti-Angiogenesis: Cutting Off Tumor Supply Lines (http://nutritionfacts.org/video/anti-angiogenesis-cutting-off-tumor-supply-lines/) Have a question for Dr. Greger about this video? Leave it in the comment section at http://nutritionfacts.org/video/intravenous-vitamin-c-for-terminal-cancer-patients and he'll try to answer it! http://www.NutritionFacts.org • Facebook: http://www.facebook.com/NutritionFacts.org • Twitter: http://www.twitter.com/nutrition_facts • Podcast: http://nutritionfacts.org/audio/ • Subscribe: http://http://nutritionfacts.org/subscribe/ • Donate: http://www.NutritionFacts.org/donate

How to make diseases disappear | Rangan Chatterjee | TEDxLiverpool

18:29
Can you actually make a disease disappear? Dr Rangan Chatterjee thinks you can. Often referred to as the doctor of the future, Rangan is changing the way that we look at illness and how medicine will be practised in years to come. He highlighted his methods in the groundbreaking BBC TV show, Doctor In The House, gaining him much acclaim from patients, his contemporaries and the media. Rangan’s 15 years of clinical experience in the NHS includes internal medicine, immunology and general practice. A pioneer in the emerging field of progressive medicine, he also uses techniques from other disciplines he has studied including movement kinetics and functional medicine. His own journey of learning was accelerated when family members fell ill and now Rangan is helping people to take control of their health by addressing the root causes of their illnesses, something which is often not achieved in 21st century health care, evidenced by a steady increase in the rates of chronic disease. Rangan is a super-generalist, looking at as many factors as possible which can create wellness or illness. His talk is testament to how our thinking around the concept of disease needs to change to help form a map for future healthcare. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at http://ted.com/tedx

The Disturbing Reasons Hollywood Likes to Make Villains Resemble Cancer Patients

04:29
A couple of years ago, when my best friend was being treated for terminal cancer, he was rewatching the "Star Wars" movies with his wife for the last time. They got to the scene where Darth Vader finally takes his helmet off. And my friend turned to his wife and said, “Why do all Villains looks like fucking cancer patients?” He was onto something: Voldemort, Gollum, Count Orlok, Dr. Evil. And this phenomenon is bigger than just cancer: A ridiculous percentage of movie villains appear to have some kind of sickness or disability. In this episode of Watch Smarter, I explain why—and what we can we do about it. —Shon Arieh-Lerer

How Do I React To My Best Friend Being Diagnosed with Cancer? | Kristien Hemmerechts | TEDxHilversum

And then the diagnosis hit her hard: breast cancer. But not just her, Belgian author Kristien Hemmerechts, it also impacted her friends, family and fans. But in a different way than she expected. Quickly she found out that it is a binary world out there: those of the healthy people and those who have cancer. This translates in the awkward situations, and Kristien feels we can all learn from her experience. And then the diagnosis hit her hard: breast cancer. But not just her, Belgian author Kristien Hemmerechts, it also hit her friends and family and students* and neighbours and fans and other people who know her. But in a different way than she expected. Quickly she found out that it is a binary world out there: those of the healthy people and those who have cancer. She discovered that people found it very difficult to cope with the situation. More difficult than she expected. “The unclearness of the situation has to do with it”, she says. “You do not look ill, you do not act ill. You do not feel ill. But there is a devastating disease in your body at work and you are terrified.” When Kristien lost two sons, reactions were warm. “We can all relate to that. And the response is accordingly.” Her mentally ill sister always told her: “Kristien, you have no idea what it feels like to have a mental illness”. Gyuricza - What terminal cancer taught me about art /HUN, Eng Sub/

04:59
I became a painter after doing art therapy, trying to cope w/loosing a loved one. I lost my mother in 2009. I miss you. Stay. That's what mothers say when their sons and daughters go away, they say stay. My mother said go. She loved life so much, started hosting cancer in her body. I wasn't there when her life was leaking out on the white floor in the hospital, blossoming like roses in the snow. Our relationship was an anthem composed of words like "gotta go". So we went. And sent our regards on postcards from other places we'd been with stories about all the things we'd seen, that's how it was with you and I; why say good bye when we could still write. But then it took your hands. We should've practiced our goodbyes. I was somewhere, in the middle of nowhere watching the sun rise over a stop sign with a girl. Running back home 'cause I gotta play nurse. Gotta figure out which pill alleviates which pain, which part of your brain is being used for a boxing bag as your body became a never ending game of freeze tag, taking place in an empty playground. I was left looking for your limbs in a lost and found, and I couldn't set you free. So we just sat there. Our heads bent towards each other like flowers in the small hours of the morning, while light wandered in like a warning that time is passing and you right along with it, Bit by bit every day. And all I could say is if I could I would paint you some way out of this, but my gift is useless. And you said no. Paint me a picture to make me happy. So I paint. Move brush move, Paint me a bedroom where cures make love to our cancers... But my mother just motions to a bottle full of answers and says "help me go". And now I know something of how a piano must feel when it looks at the fireplace to see sheet music being used for kindling, Smoke signalling the end of some song that I thought it would take too long to learn. Now I just sit here watching you burn away all those notes I never had a chance to play, to hear the music of what you had to say. I count out the pills just to see if I can do it. I can't even get halfway through it before I turn back into your son and say Stay. I could hook up my heart to your ears, and let my tears be your morphine drip because maybe it's easier to let you slip away than it is to say goodbye. So I hold my breath. Because in the count down to death the question of "why" melts into "when". How much time do we have left, because if I knew what I know now then... Move brush move, paint me a mountain. Because headstones are not big enough. My mother says stop it, Paint me a picture to make me happy. So I Paint. Stay. She smiles and says, "gotta go". I know. Goodbye." While most people are aware of breast cancer, many forget to take the steps to have a plan to detect the disease in its early stages. I encourage all to take action. http://www.cancer.gov/types/breast Painted by: Gyuricza www.gyuriczart.com If you have any questions, suggestions, or if you want to order a painting, i read my emails frequently: gyuriczart@gmail.com Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/gyuriczart Twitter: https://twitter.com/ggyuricz If you would like to support me and buy something right away, you can also find me on saatchi: www.saatchiart.com/gyuricza.gergely

Terminal Illness?

24:30
Embracing death is a key to living life. How would you live if you knew you were going to die soon? Facing the possibility of a terminal illness, I'm in love with the fact that I can't control when I will die, and I'm excited about the immensity of what I can control. I choose to not subscribe to others' expectations, because I have experienced again and again that when I follow what feels true for me, I prove my own infinite possibility. A "terminal" diagnosis can be the opportunity to live life more fully than ever, to prove our invincibility, if we choose it. The Role of Vitamin C in the Treatment of Terminal Cancer

What can we conclude about the role of IV vitamin C after 33 years of trials involving at least 1,600 patients? Subscribe to Dr. Greger’s free nutrition newsletter at https://www.nutritionfacts.org/subscribe and get a free recipe from his new HOW NOT TO DIE COOKBOOK. (All proceeds Dr. Greger receives from the sales of his books, DVDs, and speaking engagements go to support the 501c3 nonprofit that runs NutritionFacts.org.) If you missed the first two videos in this series, for the complete saga, see Intravenous Vitamin C for Terminal Cancer Patients (http://nutritionfacts.org/video/intravenous-vitamin-c-for-terminal-cancer-patients) and Vitamin C Supplements for Terminal Cancer Patients (http://nutritionfacts.org/video/vitamin-c-supplements-for-terminal-cancer-patients). I discuss the conundrum of what do to about funding research of non-patentable natural treatments in Plants as Intellectual Property – Patently Wrong? (http://nutritionfacts.org/video/plants-as-intellectual-property-patently-wrong/). On one hand, we want therapies to be accessible, but if no one profits off of it, who’s going to fund the necessary research? Have a question for Dr. Greger about this video? Leave it in the comment section at http://nutritionfacts.org/video/the-role-of-vitamin-c-in-the-treatment-of-terminal-cancer and he'll try to answer it! http://www.NutritionFacts.org • Facebook: http://www.facebook.com/NutritionFacts.org • Twitter: http://www.twitter.com/nutrition_facts • Podcast: http://nutritionfacts.org/audio/ • Subscribe: http://http://nutritionfacts.org/subscribe/ • Donate: http://www.NutritionFacts.org/donate
