Vamos ensinar a receita agora. Pain killers are so important but are they safe? More specifically is metacam safe and just how can we go about reducing pain killer side effects in cats? We used to think cats weren't too affected by pain. Well of course they are and now that our cats are living longer, many are suffering from the effects of chronic pain due to arthritis as well as following surgery or suffering injuries. Meloxicam is the active ingredient, with Metacam being the most common trade name product used. It is a member of the non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug group (NSAIDs). Metacam's use in cats is highly controversial in some parts of the world, notably the US, while being completely accepted by the majority of vets in other parts, notably Europe and Australasia. This has led to different licensing of the product. In other words the same drug has different dosing regimes depending on where it is being used. No-one will deny that there are risks with giving any non-steroidal pain killer and cats do appear to be more sensitive to these drugs. It's been shown clearly that giving the highest licensed dose for just 3 days can cause mild changes in the intestines and kidney with 9 days of this treatment dose causing intestinal ulceration and peritonitis. The fact of the matter is though that for long term treatment, the licenced dose is 6 times less than this single treatment dose. The additional benefit of meloxicam being available as a liquid is that it gives us the ability to gradually reduce the dose give to the lowest effective dose. But how do we know that this is safe? there have been several studies looking at this with a couple of studies in Australia that looked at safety in both otherwise healthy older cats as well as older cats with existing kidney disease which concluded that rather than be dangerous, long term meloxicam may actually delay the worsening of disease in cats with otherwise stable chronic kidney failure. NSAIDs offer our cats one of the best chances of a pain free life. Be that during the recovery from surgery, getting over a ligament or muscular injury or living with arthritis long term. Yes, there are alternative pain killers but none of them are proven to work as well in cats, especially long term and in most instances they themselves are actually not licensed for this use. Pain has many detrimental effects, it has a massive impact on a cats quality of life and should not be ignored. Of course we don't want to use any drug irresponsibly and there are a number of actions we can take to minimize the risk of any side-effects. - Blood testing - stop if vomiting or diarrhoea - Stop if your cat appears depressed, becomes unwell or stops eating or drinking - Do not give a higher dose than your vet has prescribed - Do not give at the same time as steroids or any other NSAID - Don't use human pain killers unless specifically advised to by your vet (and never ever give your cat paracetamol). - Do contact your vet promptly if you have any concerns - If your cat is fat then give a dose approriate to their ideal weight rather than their actual weight. - Use other management and treatment strategies for arthritis and other chronic pain conditions to reduce the dose of NSAIDs needed to keep your pet pain free. This includes the use of different types of additional pain killers. - Do follow post-operative instructions fully to minimise pain and inflammation to allow a shorter course or a lower dose of medication to be used. related videos: all about NSAIDs - https://youtu.be/KOgfxzDNMJA home management of arthritis - https://youtu.be/7LzEwKutgTY drug treatment + monitoring of arthritis - https://youtu.be/_y4MnPqWyKo Our Pets Health - vet advice for a healthier, happier life https://www.ourpetshealth.com Disclaimers: all opinions are my own, sponsors are acknowledged. http://ChiropracticUnderground.com/medical-quakery The Medical System Full Of Quacks and Is Completely Corrupt....PERIOD. -------------------------------------------------------------------- It's blatantly obvious that with the number of side effects my dad is experiencing from Meloxicam that he has to be having an ADR (Adverse Drug Reaction) ...but because one of the symptoms was "swelling" the Doctor told my mother this, "We've ruled out a drug reaction because the drug he was taking is an Anti-Inflammatory which means that it wouldn't have caused 'swelling'". Ummmm, what about the other 13 side symptoms he's having that are direct side effects of the drug. Also, an ADR is when you take a drug the way your suppose to, but your body has a violent allergic reaction to it, so WHY is an ADR ruled out? ...because one of the 14 side effects he experienced happens to be swelling? ...and this drug is suppose to get rid of inflammation? Therefore, this drug couldn't have caused this problem? ------------------------------------------------ That makes ZERO SENSE TO ME. ------------------------------------------------ Especially when drugs often times cause the very problem they are suppose to treat. For example, "depression medication can often cause depression or even suicidal thoughts." ***This is know as a paradoxical reaction.*** -------------------------------------------------------------- A paradoxical reaction or paradoxical effect is an effect of medical treatment, usually a drug, opposite to the effect which would normally be expected. An example of a paradoxical reaction is when a pain relief medication causes an increase in pain. Surely this MD went to "Medical School" right? ...and he was taught about paradoxical reactions, right? Here's the TRUTH folks, these QUACKS that we call "Medical Doctors" are owned by hospitals that are bought and paid for by Pharmaceutical Companies. They REFUSE to acknowledge that a DRUG could cause these problems that my dad is experiencing because the second they do...AL THE TESTING STOPS....and that means NO MORE MONEY is to be made. My father has been run through the medical gamut the last few days...his latest procedure today was a Spinal Tap...with a series of MRI's this afternoon to try and find the "CAUSE". I am astonished at the level of incompetence I'm seeing from our "medical professionals". I really believe that they don't know that much more about treating patients than you or me. They don't call it "practice" for nothing. Every day, they get to "practice" medicine on human guinea pigs like my dad. The Whole System Is Broken and the only way to fix it is for Chiropractors to market their practices and help more people Get To Know Chiropractic. http://youtube.com/ChrisBurfieldTV http://youtu.be/SNXElavGOnc

Joint pain Over-the-Counter Medications. Regular joint inflammation torment. For the 27 million Americans living with osteoarthritis (OA), agony can be an ordinary event. Harmed joints can make each development — from twisting to lifting — pain-filled and awkward. Relief from discomfort is the objective of OA treatment. In any case, while there are numerous approaches to manage OA inconvenience, including activity and surgery, over-the-counter (OTC) drugs are among the most widely recognized medications. We should investigate what they are and how they function. NSAIDs. As indicated by the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons, nonsteroidal mitigating drugs (NSAIDs) are the most recommended drugs for treating joint inflammation torment. Cases of NSAIDs include: *ibuprofen (Motrin). *naproxen (Alleve, Naprosyn). *aspirin. How NSAIDs function. NSAIDs work by decreasing your body's creation of substances called prostaglandins, which cause torment and aggravation in the body. By doing this, NSAIDs achieve two objectives: They help alleviate agony, and they help diminish swelling in your joints. NSAID symptoms and dangers. Prostaglandins accomplish more than cause torment. They likewise act to shield the coating of your stomach from harm by brutal stomach acids. Along these lines, when NSAIDs decrease prostaglandins in your body, they can leave your stomach powerless against acids. This can prompt ulcers and stomach dying. Other conceivable symptoms of NSAIDs include: *rash. *hives. *wheezing. NSAIDs other than headache medicine likewise may expand the danger of heart assaults and strokes. On the off chance that you have a past filled with stomach ulcers or dying, coronary illness, hypertension, or kidney sickness, you should converse with your specialist about whether NSAIDs are ok for you. Acetaminophen. Acetaminophen (Tylenol) is another OTC agony reliever that can help oversee joint inflammation inconvenience. looking http://bit.ly/2ozb0aJ Lupus is one of the most debilitating and discouraging conditions anyone can have. Waking up day after day with joint sores, knowing you are stricken with Lupus that may gradually drag you, a healthy young person, towards chronic illness like rheumatoid arthritis. Suddenly you no longer expect to enjoy many of life’s greatest experiences. You probably don’t remember that day, the day you had your first joint pain and chose to ignore it thinking it would just go away. But later on, more joints started to feel sore and swelling and a rash began to appear. You felt fatigued and knew things were starting to get out of control. Then the day came when you heard your doctor speak the word “Lupus.” You may have felt sadness, desperation, even panic… knowing full well your life would never be the same again. That time can be almost as difficult for your family and close friends as it is for you. I know, you suffer month after month and find you are losing hope of ever getting better. That’s a very sad place for anyone to be. I know. I’ve been seeing patients for over 40 years. My name is Dr. Gary M. Levin and I’m a retired M.D. and Surgeon in the U.S. For more than forty years, I took great pride in running my own clinic, as well as teaching and supervising resident doctors at a facility at Loma Linda Univ School of Medicine. I completely understand how incredibly scary, painful and discouraging Lupus symptoms are for millions of people just like you. I have felt the pain of so many patients and their families. You take medications that may reduce asymptomatic acute attacks but they just don’t work when it comes to fully treating your Lupus condition. It’s like your body is fighting an all-out war with a dangerous intruder that doesn’t exist. Your doctor may be putting on a brave face, but the truth is many physicians are just as frustrated as you are. They try every known cure, treatment and medically accepted idea — yet NOTHING really works because the real symptoms of Lupus are not treated! How Dr. Gary M. Levin, M.D. Discovered a Natural EFFECTIVE Treatment for Lupus In 1998, I had a heart ailment which required surgical intervention. While recovering in cardiac rehabilitation, I had the unexpected opportunity to work with a colleague who practiced allopathic and alternative medicine. I was very impressed with what I saw. Having been trained in the sciences, I decided to dive deep into this approach, serve a two-year preceptorship and actually test natural remedies and alternative treatments for diseases. It was here that I discovered powerful breakthroughs that would have profound impacts for Lupus patients. Here was the highly effective KEY to slowing deterioration, preventing attacks, and promoting regeneration.

A diagnosis of Rheumatoid Arthritis often leaves patients with the question of "what's next?" Fortunately, there are many treatment options available to RA patients that can alleviate pain and improve quality of life. The best immediate course of action is to follow treatment advice given by your doctor and maintain an open dialogue about symptoms and medicinal side effects you are experiencing. Your doctor will likely prescribe DMARDs, or Disease-Modifying Antirheumatic Drugs, to slow the progression of RA, or Biologic Agents to alter the aggressive immune system response that causes RA. Medications such as glucocorticoids and NSAIDs (Nonsteroidal Anti-Inflammatory Drugs) may also be prescribed to manage the pain and inflammatory symptoms experienced with RA. Physical therapy is also a great option to help you achieve better joint-functionality and ease symptoms of pain associated with this life-long disease. Follow your doctors orders and maintain a healthy life style, and you may be able to live life like you did before your diagnosis. In this Ask Dr. Geier video, I explain when a cortisone shot might help a patient – and when it might not. Shelby asks: I have had 3 cortisone shots in my shoulder due to anterior shoulder pain that was caused from my biceps tendon being irritated. Unfortunately none of them worked in reducing my symptoms. I recently just had a cortisone injection for medial knee pain, and that one also did not work. It actually made the pain worse for a couple days. Is it possible that my body doesn’t react to cortisone? Cortisone is a steroid that acts as an anti-inflammatory medication. It can help to decrease pain and swelling in a joint. It can be helpful for some problems but not others. In this video, I explain what a patient could ask the doctor if a cortisone shot fails to offer much relief. Please remember, while I appreciate your questions, I cannot and will not offer specific medical advice by email, online, on my show, or in the comments at the end of these posts. top 10 biggest and strongest dogs Subscribe to our channel: http://goo.gl/9CwQhg For copyright matters please contact us at: email@example.com The dogs we live and work with today have come a long way thanks to generations of evolution and breeding. Yes, it’s crazy, but whether we’re talking about that fiery little Chihuahua, that energetic Labrador Retriever or that super-fast Greyhound, all of our dogs originated from wolves a long time ago. In fact, archeologists have discovered human remains from thousands of years ago buried with the remains of a dog nearby. It turns out that man’s best friend has held that title for quite some time. Today, we use dogs for all sort of things. They entertain us, keep us company, hunt and retrieve, and even guard us. In fact, in terms of guard dogs, there are some pretty large breeds that are intimidating even to look at. Yes, in the realm of dog-human interaction, the role of guard dog has been around for a long time. Guard dogs come in all shapes and sizes but they serve the same purposes – to protect livestock, property or even the humans of their ‘pack.’ Ahead you’ll see dogs like the Boerboel and Dogue de Bordeaux, two breeds used to guard homesteads and even the castles of the elite. Looking to protect livestock as well? Then be sure to watch for the Kangal and Fila Brasileiro. Both of these dogs aren’t only big but extremely loyal and intimidating. The Greater Swiss Mountain Dog and Tibetan Mastiff both originated in mountainous and harsh environments – so you know these breeds are tough and mean business when they bark. Don’t get fooled by the Komondor. It may look like an oversized mop – but if you try to mess with the herd it’s guarding it’ll mop the floor with you. The same can be said of the Great Pyrenees. It may look like an oversized Golden Retriever, but this large dog will defend animals and people with great courage and loyalty. With a well-established history of protecting estates from wild dogs, the Perro de Presa Canario is one large breed we don’t think you should mess with. The same goes for the Caucasian Shepherd. This massive dog has evolved to meet the rugged environment of Southern Russia and the Caucasus, so you know it can hold its own when it comes to a fight. All in all, we’re pretty sure you don’t want to mess with any of these massive breeds. LATEST UPDATE; JULY 2015: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fP-lu_Bpp-c My story about how sick I feel on a day to day basis and how I was diagnosed. A few things have changed since the video was made, so check below! CLICK "MORE" FOR OTHER THINGS. ... ... ... ... *From Nov/11 to Mar/12, I went from 93kg to 83kg (at 5'5/165cm). Up until early Jan/12, I was on a lower cal diet and exercising, having dropped 8kg, when I then caught a viral illness and had a cold. I have yet to recover from said cold and have been feeling very ill since. Current weight (as of July 2012) - 85kg. *I'm not depressed, nor ready to give up, but I'm really sick of not having the energy to live a full life. *My case is considered "mild", so I don't need to be taking Prednisone. I take Plaquenil, Cymbalta plus a daily multivitamin and glucosamine supplements. I also keep extra nutritional drink supplements handy. As of mid-April 2012, I ceased taking Plaquenil. As of late-May, I started taking Imuran (Azathioprine). January 2013, upped my dose of Imuran from 50mg to 75mg and started taking a water soluble version of Piroxicam. *I have tried the following NSAIDs without success: Vioxx and Celebrex (many years ago), Mobic and Brufen (prescribed higher dose ibuprofen). A lot of the time I have had H.Pylori bacteria settle in my stomach due to taking these medications. *In 2004, I was diagnosed with PCOS and in 2005, had a cyst larger than a golf ball removed. Since then, I have been on the pill (and Diane 35 since 2006), so my fertility is questionable. *I sometimes have a low-grade fever. I deal with low blood pressure most days. *I have NO sex life, and I really don't care for it. *Early-July 2012, caught second cold of the year, whilst on Imuran. The cold went through its usual phases, lasted about 7 days, after, lingering sinus issues. Hopefully it will clear up soon. *October 2013, neurological symptoms started getting worse, including severe jerks. Set to have an EEG and MRI to look for any problems in my central nervous system.

https://ibogaineclinic.com/ Meet Lin, since 2009, she’s had severe, chronic pain with fibromyalgia. Her whole body hurts including back and neck, legs and arms, has had major headaches and migraines, and has even been bed-ridden for a long time. She’s also had arthritis and joint pain. She’s suffered from depression and anxiety since she was a child. At 14 and 23 on anti-depressants and have tried many of them including Lithium, Prozac, Wellbutrin and others that have led to two suicide attempts. Lin lists Fiorinal, Klonopin, Mobic, OxyContin and Oxycodone as opiates she’s tried but they never helped with pain relief. She finally came to get an ibogaine opiate detox from David Dardashti at the Ibogaine Clinic. Lin has a tremendous story and has suffered a lot in her time. Stories like hers are why we are really here in Ibogaine. When you help someone who never really had the option before to turn herself around. Layne had tried it all. Look here for more info about Ibogaine https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ibogaine Ibogaine addiction treatment the first and most tortuous step in dealing with an addiction is to recognize that you have a problem, and then make a conscious choice to seek treatment. You have bravely taken this first step towards your recovery by visiting us here. This is a safe environment in which you can learn about our innovative and powerful new Ibogaine addiction treatment, and determine if that treatment is right for you. We designed our treatment. Our Ibogaine Addiction Treatment consists of two phases. First, a screening process to qualify the individual for treatment. We create a custom protocol, for the Ibogaine dosage and duration, to ensure the best possible results. Ibogaine treatment works naturally within the body to gently detox patients while cleansing their systems. One of the key factors in addiction’s cyclical nature is it creates imbalances in the dopamine pathways of the brain's frontal cortex. The first step naturally rebalances these pathways, breaking the physical aspect of the addiction cycle. Once this is done, our patients are guided into the second phase of the program: emotional and spiritual healing. Often, our patients are struggling with deep emotional issues that motivated their drug or substance abuse in the first place. Ibogaine research shows that through intensive therapy, our patients are able to recognize this trauma, root out the causes of their addiction, and heal these emotional wounds once and for all.
