I'm a mess. But it was a blast. Streaming is fun guys but don't work yourself too hard, if you want to make it you have to do this for long hours and almost every day.
If you want to donate go here: https://twitch.streamlabs.com/skylent Donations show up on stream! Even on YouTube!
I made this video! Hi, my name is Skylent and I hope you had fun!
This is my gaming channel where I stream, do reviews & first impressions, and also learn/teach on topics focused around video game culture. If you are a gamer like me, then follow along lets go on an adventure!
I've recently given streaming a shot (not on this account or anything, this is a personal account). I can see how some people actually prefer it to making videos as there's no editing or rendering to do (assuming you're not going to stick the VOD on YouTube or anything afterwards). Plus viewer interaction can be fun for both sides.
The only nerve-wrecking part for me was the whole starting out thing. Finding a niche to fill, getting yourself out there, and then actually getting everything set up. Plus hearing yourself after a recording session the first few times. It's true that there's a difference between hearing yourself talk normally, and then *really* hearing yourself talk if you know what I mean. The whole realization of "Holy shit, I actually sound like that?"
But all in all, making YouTube videos is some of the most fun I've had in my life lately. It's also a hell of a lot more work than *A LOT* of people think. Especially when you're starting out and there's only 1 or 2 of you. You don't have anyone to make any art for you. You have to do it. There's no one to edit stuff for you. You have to do that too. Luckily, I enjoy both of those things, making this whole experience that much more fun for me.
Calm works, your hype voice is not really needed bud.... you know how long I have followed you, and how many comment section chats we have had in the past years... so I wouldnt lie.
Overall, you are a decent dude, and thats why your followers increased so much.
Your game reviews and general content is good quality. Keep it up Skylent!
I'm digging this honesty trend that is going on YouTube and it's definitely making appreciate what people do on here more. I've been told for a while that people would enjoy me steaming but I'm not sure I'd want to get into it since it would turn my hobby into something more like work. I'd be worried about feeling pressured into streaming when I'd rather just play a game without being "on" so to speak
