I guess it's a bit late, but if you want to keep Superman at his iconic powerlevel but still make it challenging, just get some magical foes against him.
Magic exists in the DC universe and he's anything but immune to it.

I'm a BIG Superman fan and it would not be an exaggeration to say, "I've been waiting my whole like for this game." ... That may or may not exist lol
I love how every's like "Superman game won't work/ not sure how that would work..." But then you guys start actually parsing through it the way Rocksteady would have to if they took up that project.
If I had to tackle the project, I would Metroid him. We are starting with Golden Age Superman set in modern day. His skill set is akin to Spiderman, but with the usual Superman twist. Eye Beams, runs really fast, jumps high, good durability, though not invincible (his increased durability comes from the suit he would eventually wear, which is armor.) That should be fairly fun for the player to start off with. We can cap flight to mid to late game, so there's a sense of progression that leads to ridiculous freedom.
They did that with the New 52 Superman (Grant Morrison's run.) The first 7 or so issues, he lacks flight and the suit. It all culminates up to an encounter with Brianiac. Such a good run...
The biggest problem Superman has, is public perception. Comics are niche AF, so the public generally get their fix from the Superman movies/TV. There have NOT been many adaptations in recent years to help shape that, especially when compared to Batman. The movie writers have leaned heavily into him being a Mary Sue, which robs him of his character. In reality, he's a pretty dope dude, with a strong moral compass.
No problem is beneath him, whether it be punching Zod in the face, flying to space, or my personal favorite, TALKING a suicidal girl off a ledge.
VR was made for Superman.
The only way I can see him being implemented in a Arkham-style game though would be if they based him on _Fleischer Studios Superman_ (the one and only Superman worth jack s***).
Rage 2 will be an interesting one. IDs a usually great developer (only hated Doom 3 and found Rage to be mediocre) and Rage showed promice so its actually one to look forward to (with great potencial to combine Wasteland, Obsidian Fallout and Borderlands with IDs trademark horror action and pink :D). Cant wait to see it at E3 along with other multiplats like Borderlands 3, Cyberpunk 2077, Superman, The Outer Worlds and Shadow Of The Tomb Raider and Sonys Playstation Exclusive The Last Of Us 2 at thier big 4 showcase.

The thing with Superman... there's a game, not much to it, "Megaton Rainfall". The character does not have HP, the city does. You don't need a combat loss for a failure state. You can lose other things.
Wasn't there a Superman game around 10 years ago where he didn't have a life bar, but the city had its own life bar. I guess there was something like this. As Superman you had to protect the city and make sure that it didn't get too much damage. I think this is how you could make a Superman game.
I just want to add I think I could make an interesting Superman game: you are Immortal and cannot take damage, but you have one save system and you can't save everyone. And who you save and what missions you take effect the story. Do you want to save Lois and sacrifice Innocence or are you prepared to possibly lose her I become a greater hero. And for an added bonus you get the play as Clark and when you choose to become Superman affect the story. That would be my dream Superman game.
We tried before but twice my internet died literally the day I was supposed to be on. Just a total outage. Even though it wasn't my fault, I felt like an absolute asshole for having to cancel twice in the last minute basically.
superman returns game flying was great but the city dying rubbish,the timer and not having things to do made that game shit.....they can make a good superman game they just don't............stop putting timers in the fucking superman games, i fucking hate timers.

The biggest example I can think of for a game where a mod and its team got absorbed by the base game is XCOM Long War. The first XCOM had it released separately and then they brought the team on-board to make it internally for the sequel. I guess you could also count Counterstrike and Team Fortress, but those turned in to completely new individual games rather than mods to future Half Life games.
How can you guys not want the Switch online? $20 a year is worth it solely for the online save data backup. The Switch currently doesn't have any method for data recovery and this is apparently the only way it's going to happen. The rest is just a bonus. Not to mention Super Smash Bros is coming this year, so people are going to want to play that online. Hopefully the money involved is invested in getting dedicated servers so that Nintendo can finally have decent online multiplayer.
maybe because it's their least played console and most of them play on pc. And pc players HATE, like really really HATE paying for playing online. Though I agree that I can't understand not needing to keep a backup for your saves. Nintendo makes you pay for it, that sucks hard, but if it's the only way, I don't care about my pride. 20 bucks, unless you're really really broke (like, so broke you wouldn't buy a switch really), is not terrible.
I also find it funny it's such a question of pride while paying for PS+ and Xbox gold has been accepted by everyone. Not the same level of service, but the core concept is the same : you pay for online, or you don't get online.
but at least sony gives you other ways to save.Cloud saves aren't the only way to save your games on the ps4. Nintendo is making you pay to back up your saves but doesn't give you any other options which isn't cool.
jdub87 I fully agree that it should be universal. I'm definitely in the camp of people vocally saying it should be. But at the same time I'm not going to risk my saves longer than I need to just to protest. I've already had to get a left joycon replaced and at the time I thought it would be the whole system, so this is something that can't come soon enough for me. I just hope they stop doing taking a step back for every two forward and make this universal. If course then they'd be relying on multiplayer games to sell their service like Xbox does, and I don't think Nintendo wants to be forced into having to build multiplayer games.
