With Dark Souls Remastered right around the corner, we got to thinking about brilliant games we'll simply never be good at. There are lots to choose from, naturally!

I'm not even a gleam in the milkman's eye at Fortnite (since I've not installed it and have no intention of playing it), but I project that I would be somewhere on the level of compost as a bunch of angry children teabag my new corpse. This reaction to the wider community by most players has led to my avoiding multiplayer games like the plague.
Brilliant games I'll never be good at, most FPS honestly, can get kills, might get MVP once in a blood moon, but I will always suck at, good thing I don't take them all that seriously and just play them for fun.
I'm bad at all stealth games. Metal gear, The Last of Us, if it heavily relies on you being good on stealth, I suck at it. Which really sucks for me, because some of those games are really well crafted immersive stories that I wish I could get further through, but those damn clickers get me every time man.
Rocket League same for me. Been playing since it released on the PS4. Half a level removed from Legend and I get bounced around between Gold and Plat. I'm at a stage where I have to practice high-level skills or else I don't think I'm ever getting past Plat. Just don't have the energy to practice for half an hour before playing a match. So I'll suck at Rocket League forever XD
I've always been so unbelievably horrible at any kind of racing game, I used to be afraid I'd never learn how to drive in real life. I can't make a car run in a straight line for 5 seconds, no matter the game.
Rob, I can just about live with the fact that you are not a Chelsea or Real Madrid supporter, but I sincerly hope that your comment about Messi being better than CR7 was a joke that was so obscure that no one caught it....otherwise I might have to choose a new favourite access member.
Playing on the average level in Rocket League is probably more fun than on the rather professional level, and it's probably the same case with most other games because, once you get to a very high level, everything is fast-paced and serious.
I love RPG storylines, but I get bored to death by the "kill a billion flavorless enemies to gain a level" part.
So I usually start to play RPGs from the begining, love them to pieces, and than I go about the quests without ever stoping to grind, until I'm just too low level to function.
At that point killing the random mook became even less enticing so I usually just leave the game altogether.
I work too many hours to spend my weekend hours only grinding and going to sleep without any bit of story happening.
I was gonna say dark souls. I love the lore, I get most of the stats and stuff, but I get murdered in seconds anyway. I have a bad habit of rolling into the wrong time or place and getting smacked in the face. Also, I can’t parry for quids. I’m pretty good at spacing though.
Any online multiplayer first person shooter. I decide I'm going to be good... I work and get better... then I think I can be great... then I find my plateau... go through my "throwing controller" phase... then face the harsh reality that this middle-of-the-pack, mediocre gameplay is the best I will ever be. This cycle repeats every 3-4 years.
You can play on the Safety difficulty if you're struggling... But the secret is to just hit enemies on their weaknesses every time you can so that you get extra turns, repeat until they're all knocked down and finish the fight with an All-Out Attack (most of the time at least). Don't focus your attacks on enemies that are already on the floor, try to get the All-Out Attack instead.
Joker needs to have Personas with as many different elemental attacks as possible (Zio, Agi, Bufu, etc) to cover for the elements your allies don't have. You also need healing skilsl on him (Dia/Media) and to keep Morgana in the party until you have the other dedicated healer (which also starts with an M). Oh, and level up your Confidants, especially your team members.
TL;DR: get all enemies on the ground by hitting their weaknesses + All Out Attack, basic formula for most fights.
Robs Rocket League comparison to Cristiano Ronaldo is a well fitted depiction of me playing Mortal Kombat. The old cartoon ones are the ones I’m actually really good at, but no one even knows those existed, anymore lol
I feel like people are mistaking "being bad" with just plain not putting enough time/effort into something. When Overwatch was released, there were people who had played its source of inspiration (Team Fortress 2) for thousands of hours. They weren't good at Overwatch day 1 because they are born with some special kind of gift... They were good because they practically already played the game to mastery in a slightly different format.
Same goes for anything else in life. Talent is a myth. Dedication is everything.
I'm really good at JRPGs and SRPG, action rpg like FF, Tales and Disgaea, always getting all the trophies. But really games I suck at are FPS, rhythm and sport. Metal Gear Solid, Tomb Raider, Hatsune Miku games and FIFA
An awesome game that I'll never be good at, is Attack on Titan. I am just terrible at that game. This is how bad I am at the game, I can't even beat the first level. My brother has beat the whole game and platinum it, but me can't even pass first level. 😭
I am terrible at stealth in games yet it is my favourite style of play if it's an option. I love Metal Gear Solid 5 and Dishonored 2, I must just like to punish myself as I suck at them :p
I have never got past Anor Londo on Dark Souls as Ornstein and Smough butcher me everytime but I have pre-ordered the remaster and my goal is to finally get my vengeance on them.
MGS. Watching gamers who can crawl from one end of an FOB infiltration to the other without being spotted, and then trying the same thing only having to end up murdering the population of a small nation because I get spotted in the first 30 seconds.
City builders! Oh, naive me, making my poor Cities Skylines population drink their own sewage. Half the population died overnight.
I'm massively bad at the likes of Elite Dangerous and Guns of Icarus too. Don't make me fly sci-fi/fantasy ships in front of other people. Still play those games with vigour though, even with all the pew-pew bang-bang argh-death I induce on myself and decent members of the public.
I'm also crud at Monster Hunter but still 90 hours in...
