There are so many things going on here and so many like minded people. There are a lot of homestead tools and machines to help you get the job done around your place. Many great speakers and a lot of good info from just meeting and speaking with folks walking around.... We can not thank you #homesteadhomies enough for traveling from all over the place just to meet up with Stacy and myself!!!

About OFF GRID with DOUG and STACY:
We moved to our 11 acres in 2011 from a large city in the Midwest with zero carpentry and farming skills. We live with no solar / wind power / public water or well. We share our adventure to a sustainable life, growing our own food from vegetables to meat. We post videos DAILY and they range from HOW TO to EVERYDAY LIFE and NUTRITION on the off grid homestead. We were city folks just like you probably and wanted to enjoy life and have more control over our food. We share food recipes as well as natural remedies.
Thanks, Doug and Stacy! We had such a great time at the Mother Earth News Fair! We will be uploading the interview we did with you later today on our channel https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC_1nZUpPS6jFv5Pn3f85CaA
i like these vids. unscripted and relaxed.
it was great to get a chance to meet you guys and the folks from Lumnah Acres at the Mother Earth News Fair. we learned so much and hope to make a weekend of the Sept. fair in PA so we can spend less time traveling and more time seeing the booths and talking to great homesteaders like you.
Thank you. Both of my small greenhouses from Harbor Freight were destroyed in a huge hail storm a couple of weeks ago. The panels were disintegrating anyway but now they MUST be replaced. With all the complaints, people with these greenhouses need to know the best way to replace them.
you can get them at most lowes
The toxic carpet thing is very true. Years ago I saw a documentary about the very same thing. The doco crew went into a average suburban house and, using a commercial carpet cleaning machine, cleaned the carpet. They later had the waste water from the cleaning analysed and it was found be so toxic, it had to be disposed of at a toxic waste facility. They found traces of vomit, urine, excrement, insecticides, chemicals from furniture polish and room deodorants as well as human skin and blood, food, traces of hot and cold drinks and a myriad other things. And that's why all of my carpets are heading to the dump.
Thanks for showing us around. Agree with the wood flooring guy. Carpet is harder to clean. You need an extraction cleaner or a guy who does it for a living. Glad you had a chance to meet your followers. I remember Al and Olivia, good to see them again.
The Canada knife video was AWESOME! As soon as my Hubby got home from work I showed it to him and now we are both hooked! I love all of your videos. Both of you are so very lovable and I've learned a lot from both of you! Thank you!
I really enjoyed this video, especially the interviews and the fair walk around! Please keep up with them, I am a real fan!! (sorry Stacy couldn't carry home her whole wish list!!) I would have had a long one too.
I love the travel videos! I only wished I lived nearer Vermont so I could visit. I love the yurt! This would make a great guest house for your international guests in your future! Hint-hint! :)) Perhaps in the not too distant future you guys will b an international learning/teaching /demonstration center! You guys are doing a great job...just keep on going strong!
Whoever said they don't like the videos AINT (yeah I said ain't lol) no REAL Homestead Homie! So pooh on them!!! I'm going through A LOT of the older videos and I love seeing the progress you've made as content creators. You're so much more laid back now. Much more comfortable. I noticed ppl picked on Doug a lot about his interactions with Stacy (which was none of their business in my opinion, that's between a husband and wife far as I'm concerned). That said, I think it was more nervousness cause your love for each other is absolutely obvious! Anyway....keep all your videos coming. If you enjoy making them I'm sure we'll LOVE watching. God Bless you both always. Love and hugs! 💕✝️💕✝️ Lisa
Don't know why anyone would find fault with any video you make. Personally, I enjoyed your trip. Just DON'T FORGET YOUR COMPUTER THIS TIME. Glad you are having fun. P.S. my carpets are not toxic, I don't have any. Hardwood floors are the only way to go.
oh my gosh. i love this. you guys have so much fun. my lifelong dream is to have an urban homestead farm around my house. I;m hoping i'm not too old at 57. there is sure a lot of work to do. I've been following you all for a while. finally subscribed today. All the best Doug and Stacy
I loved the Mongolian tent homes, they can be attached to one another to make bigger areas and have privacy too if you have a big family. The tent people in that area and into Turkey back in the 13 th Century when there were huge areas of fighting just like we have today. Aleppo is one of the areas where they lived. Damascus and so forth. Interesting. What was their site name? I couldn't catch it.
Daphne Fowler I adore her style ' totally would love to imitate ! I love her skirts.. shirts.. jackets.. and my favorite JEWELRY :) ! Spill it, Stace' we know it ain't Amish made :) that's dougs thannng lol!
Yeap,,,"keep all of your videos coming!!!!" Thanks for sharing your experiences and wisdom with us. Y'all are down to earth and the charisma between you two is contagious. LoL
P.s. Stacey,,,this is Karen writing, please keep the meal ideals coming!!!! It opens our minds to the endless possibilities of what we have on hand and what nature has provided for us.
I love these videos as long as they don't go on and on. I like both the opportunity to see vendors, and others who have clogs on YouTube I may not have known about but good to follow. Great job Doug and Stacy!
HOW FUNNY! I just noticed the THREE of you kneeling on the grass to introduce us to your New Neighbors & ALL THREE OF YOU ARE SITTING IN THE EXACT SAME POSITION! Left knee DOWN, Right Knee UP! Just van observation..... Was this PRE-REHEARSED? LOL
Hi guys! Just wanted to add to the list of those who love your away adventures. YES, PLEASE CONTINUE SHOWING US THE OUTSIDE WORLD! And did you see those beautiful, handcrafted bee hives from HBhiveCO, OMG - wish I was there, but at least I get an idea of what it's like because of you:), thank you! And I am a homestead homie from Oregon!!
I love it all! Love to see what you are doing in your day to day life. I do have a suggestion & you can think about it. The title suggests getting info. about toxic carpet but it takes about 3/4 of the way to get that far & people who are really wanting this info. may not watch that long. Here is a thought: In editing, put that first & then add the rest of the wonderful video after the man speaking about the carpet. For the regular viewers, it's great the way it is but for people searching for this info. in the YouTube search box, it could be a little frustrating & they might pass up on a wonderful channel like yours. Anyways, not trying to tell you how to run your channel but it was just some thoughts I had from a diff. perspective. I only recently this past week stumbled upon your channel & so glad I did! Thanks :))
Doug and Stacy! Shalom from south Texas!I LOVE the traveling videos. I rarely get a chance to leave the homestead because of animals and such (not to mention money), so I get to travel vicariously through y'all. KEEP IT UP! Also, I've been reading The Mother Earth News since issue #1 (Jan 1970), and have ALMOST the complete collection. I stopped reading them a few years ago, but have recently resubscribed. I've always been curious about the MEN Fairs, so thanks for allowing me to finally get a small glimse of what they're like. My wife and I love all your videos, although she tends to gravitate toward the cooking and I love the "outside" ones. We both enjoy them all. KEEP 'EM COMING!
We personally love these types of videos and all of your videos. We thought the knife videos were awesome. Your visit with Eric from Life in Farmland was also great and thanks to these types of videos we are getting to know other Homestead Homies, like FarmAlarm. Great folks, with lovely families; the kind of folks you look forward to meet in person some day. Keep up with your awesome videos. Stacey: You look great! Love your skirt. Oh, and Rain Country is another homestead homie we like. So there, I hope this is motivating for you both. ;-)
