Can't wait for a kingdom building game that allows you to give your nation or civilization it's own name, traits, culture, specialties and such. Even maybe go as far as to let you choose your troops' weapon and armor designs, banners and building structures... And if you're just lazy then there's always the randomize button.
Im waiting a game with some huge world where u can make a lot unique building and other stuffs... without some sh*t limits... these days there is games where u can make only max 300warriors and few building and map is small...

*Wanna hear a cool story? I literally bought and unboxed a brand new age of empires 2 collectors edition just the other day from the op shop* check it on my channel i think it's a legit 20 years old sealed copy.
First off, all of the simulation/management/builder games on this list are automatically disqualified due to the fact that they aren't strategy games. That is, of course, unless you're using a very, very, loose definition of the word 'strategy.' In which case Pong is also a strategy game. And let's not forget the fact that a remastered game is NOT a new game, so AoE:DE is instantly disqualified on the grounds that it simply has a makeover; you might as well throw Warcraft on this list - I mean, it did come out a few years before AoE after all.
A real strategy game is something like StarCraft, Warcraft, Age of Empires, Sins of a Solar Empire, or Civilization. It's a game that tasks the player with the strategic placement and management of an economy and military (in the case of Sins/Civ, also some politics) in order to complete a task (usually destroying the enemy or surviving for x time). Several games on this list are clearly city builders, and even fewer on that list may include some minor combat - but the game as a whole focuses on building and expanding the actual city....which makes it a city builder and not a strategy game.
Given the above mentioned statements, I see three games that are actual strategy games; SpellForce 3, Iron Harvest, and Age of Empires 4 - though Iron Harvest only counts if the player can actually place their own buildings at some point, there aren't enough gameplay videos out for anyone to make an informed definition on what the game is apart from the developers/publishers themselves, and we all know that those two groups are never wrong about anything, ever.
Will everyone agree with my statements? No. But then not everyone knows what the word 'strategy' actually means; and fewer still know how to properly use Google (or pick up a book) to look something up.
Age of Empires 4. Well now Blizzard, what about Warcraft 4? Nothing? Still this overhyped, overpriced 1000-Addon-heavy MMO? Good, then just stay out of RTS for the rest of the next hundreds of years, just like Valve with Half Life 3.
