I know this is more then a year old, but seriously guys, being a furry isn’t a fettish. Furries are just fans of anthropomorphic animals with human traits (think zootopia or Bambi)! Sure SOME people like the nsfw side of it (nsfw art/mursuiting), but most of us are just regular fans like any other community.. hell, most of us don’t even hav the suits necessary to mursuit!
I see a lot of people wondering about furries in the comment section. As a furry myself who has been in the fandom for 5 years, I know that yes there is a small minority with a furry fetish. However, the majority of us identify as a furry because it's a fun hobby. I understand why people don't like us. We are weird, and misinformation does spread as well.
I have giantess fetish, and i want to get rid of that shit. It constantly bothers my thoughts, and makes me lose my concentration on my work and studies.
I don't know why i have that fetish, but i just want to get rid of this.
Is there no proven way to get rid of a fetish?
When I was a little kid (8-10) I liked tying up my dolls and I never knew why. I just liked seeing them helpless and I thought "Am I going be psychopath who murder people?" which scared me a bit (who wants to be a psycho right). Then I realized I just have really weird kinks....
i as a person having foot fetish can safely say most foot lovers DO mind fungus and hairy toes, that's disgusting to even think people with the most common fetish in the world would go this far. 0:27 yea i can't spot any fungus or hair on that foot.
Nautical sailor: Listen to who is talking through you. I hear the adversary not Jesus. The fandom is incredibly varied. It would not be that way with only one thing like what is called a fetish. We are sexual animals, mammals. Live with it. See the heart. What a person says shows what is in the heart. Listen to others and yourself too.
Contrary to popular belief furries aren't that sex crazed. And few of them even own fursuits (animal costumes) because they're expensive as hell. And of those even fewer would dare have sex in them. Those things are incredibly hot to even just walk around in, much less fuck in. And doing the dirty in them could very much stain or ruin the suit, which would be a pain in the ass to fix. Even furries think it's weird to fuck in fursuits.
Though there is still a lot of sexual content online, as is to be expected with any fandom. The furry fandom is growing fast and a lot of the newer people are in an age where they are very hormonal. I'd say it's probably pretty similar to the anime fandom in amount of porn, since both are very big, obsessive fandoms.
But for the most part it is just community that's the main appeal.
The most simplistic definition of a furry is someone who is a fan of anthropomorphism (ascribing human attributes to non-human things. In this case, animals.) This is the most generalized description there is. Take it from someone who's been actively apart of the community for 6 years now, there is a high variety of different people. For example, in the replies above, you will see that there is a sexual part of it too. This does not make up the whole fandom though. Doesn't even come close honestly. Every thing has a sexual side. Sadly for us though, it's the only thing others pay attention to. You want a real answer, listen to someone with experience. I mean, majority of outsiders think all of us wear animal costumes. Only about 18% of us even own one. We focus in many other fields rather than just costumes, rather it be from art, literature, animation, etc. Hope my reply helped you understand, or at least correcting your idea on them after asking the internet about one of the most controversial fandoms. (We are controversial because people generally don't know anything about the fandom except from what is talked about most often in the media, the sexual side.)
