George Hotz, the first person to hack the iPhone, says he built a self-driving car in a month. How did he do it? Bloomberg's Ashlee Vance went to Hotz's home to find out... and took his retrofitted Acura for a test-drive. (Video by David Nicholson)
His system is better because it is learning all the time all you need to do is to copy the setup he has and get some drivers that have loads of hours on the road for most likely it's going to be service technicians that have next to no accidents and compile all that data of them driving for days and in no time you'll have the perfect system for a self-driving car it will take a lot less R&D to get this system working with a much higher success rate
One day in the not too far future our autonomous, nuclear blast proof cars will simultaneously drive us all into an enormous meat grinder ending all human life....it will be in accordance with the mandate and mission parameters of super general AI to end all human suffering. Have a nice day🤤
and here is where i‘ll never question geohot again when he says there is no friggin‘ jailbreak yet 😄. this guy is a genius and we will hear a fuckton more of him in 2-3 years (metric fuckton, not pounds)
AI for driving is never going to work. he is wrong, humans do not learn to drive from other drivers. humans learn driving through practice and concepts. AI cannot deal with unexpected events because there is no data for these events by definition, hence nothing to learn from.
I am so worry all N amarican and EU will give George Hotz, 100 billions dollar to silent us.
And then they will get that money back from us asap
therefore we need him to be with us all the time
Teaching a car to follow a lane is akin to nothing special. It doesn't drive you anywhere therefore its not self driving. It's self steering. I knew it was bs when he plugs the "computer" into a walmart power inverter. PS it's been two years where is this thing now?
When I saw this video I was skeptical. How could single man build something as complex as self driving car and we know that big companies are trying to do that with a big teams. So googled about it and I found that he has discontinued this project. Basically this system have big limitations and isn't near as good as Tesla's cars.
1. Drive in rain/harsh conditions
3.Stop at stop signs/lights
4.Watch for pedestrians
5.Drive through crowded areas
But yet I guess it's better then Tesla and all other autonomous car industries...
Statistically, there has to be a guy like George on every couple of million people. I guess it's a mix of the law of nature and coincidence that put him in this position. I wish him the best and I hope he'll be doing great discoveries.
Wow this is amazing. I like concept of a four-point outline. Additional, you might need an AI to check the existing system to make any corrections while car is driving itself, I saw an AI correcting and AI in a Cold Fusion video. Also you're going to need to miniature something that can anticipate thousands of calculations and possibilities rapidly at the same time. 10 hours of driving at a time it's really not enough. To make this thing really work, you'll have to drive under various conditions, at various times of the day, on various roadways. Also infrastructure and roadways would have to be changed, so as to accommodate the auto vehicles such as roads: Wi-Fi traffic lighting, and Vehicles communicating with each other on a universal level.
This guy could end up being a millionaire if tesla or google buys him or his invention. Perhaps he could sell his driverless technology to any automobile industry which might be way behind in creating the driverless technology for their automobile industry
