Games are hard sometimes, and every so often you just can’t deal with that. We’re busy people, we don’t have time to play one level for the umpteenth time after shattering three controllers. But then when you lower the difficulty or screw up too many times, games will insult you.

no mention of star fox though, snes and n64!
completing the easy and medium routes in snes version, and the easy route in n64 version, gives you a fake andross... only hard gives you the real deal end fight... which is actually easier than the fake boss fight... go figure!
Like, why? You should be able to play a game the way you want, you bought it, you paid money for it. If they don't want you to play on easy mode, why include it at all? There are people who are bad at games, but they still want a good experience.
Why are so many people salty about the devs having a personality? The problem is these whiny kids who can't even do the easiest of tasks in a videogame. People like these force devs to water down their games to appeal to a larger audience. This is why watered down games are quickly forgotten, whilst original games are forever remembered, example: Undertale.
the fact game makers insults the buyers of games is incredible when the buyers are the source of money for the makers if I was a game maker last thing I would do is make fun of any gamer that bought my product
Devil May Cry 3 when you lose too many times you get easy mode.
Guitar Hero 3 losing too many times to a rival guitarist during the campaign itll ask you if you want to skip and come back to it because they're beating you too much.
I mean i play games on what the developers intend me to play on because i think speeding through a game on easy mode isn't really fun. I can see why the devs hated the fact people finished their games and complained how short it was. I have played games like D4 where some people just rush through the episodes and then complain how short it was but in reality they finished a 9 hour game in 3 to 4 hours
he complains about them insulsting the player and skipping their last level DUDE THE NAME OF THE VIDEO IS 15 WAYS GAMES PUNISHED AND MOCKED YOU FOR PLAYING ON EASY MODE FOR CHRIST'S SAKE IDJNUHGUHGFYRDBGHWGEFYRTGGYFTRUUUDY
i said jesus incorrectolly on the crishtan server
to be honest, i've played alot of games on easy mode. and i never once took the "insults" very seriously. in fact, i didnt even realize that they were trying to mock people for playing on easy. oh well. not that i care, really.
That's really lame and douche-like. So what? Everyone has to become a "Veteran player" to be able to access all the levels or play it like "normal"?
Don't include an easy mode if you want the game to be played "your way". Nobody wants to bust their ass (and controller) to complete a stupid game.
The reason you can't understand why "you aren't allowed to get to the end" on easy mode is that you are not considering the time frame the overwhelming majority of these games were released. Kids in the 80s and 90s didn't have a conflated sense of entitlement and expect/demand "to be able to play the game I WANT" all the time. They also would not have had to schedule therapy sessions to get over light heckling from a video game cartridge. And if they weren't able to beat normal difficulty they weren't going to go on a shooting rampage on their classmates.
Video games back then were celebrated and judged on their difficulty because that was a large part of the length of the game, replayability (even if it's the same levels you keep failing over and over) and a badge of honor for getting the "true ending".
It's a far cry what a title like MSG5 does nowadays; offering a mode to make it easier so players can skip ahead and see the next area/mission/story and too impatient to earn it properly. It's quite a contrast to titles in the 80s and 90s; if you could play through and it was easy, you could beat the game you just paid $50+ for in a matter of 45 minutes and feel like you got ripped off.
I've played through Megaman Zero 4 multiple times, once on easy mode. I would say that the lack of EX skills or the weather changer is fair enough, considering that with all that health and with a fully powered up Croire, you don't need them at all.
"It will tussle your hair and call you sport, as it takes you out for ice cream." :D
Seriously though, these are all pretty funny. If it makes you mad when you reach that point in the game, hopefully you get over it after a short while and switch to normal mode.
I don't play games because I like to feel a sense of achievment, I play games for the same reason I watch movies - for my own entertainment, a bit of escapism. I don't have the time to waste on grinding anyway, so the quickest way to see all the story elements will do just fine. The Silent Hill 2 difficulty illustrates well how I feel about game difficulty in general: Hard setting for puzzles, easy setting for combat.
How about making an easy mode but instead before you beat the game, a dev comes from the right side of the screen and trolls you by deleting your data then crashing the game. Before the dev does that it says "git gud skrub"
Some of those were just rude and disrespectful to the people playing the game they already have gotten a bad review because of what they said to them
Edit: and what if their new to that game that would be insulting
I love how twats claim games are for everyone. Games like pretty much any other hobby ARE NOT (or at least were not) for everyone. That's why you were meant to overcome challenges and show some skill. Any random joe can take up rockclimbing but if you suck at it, you won't get anywhere either. If you can't handle a challenge that a game puts in front of you then you shouldn't be playing that game and that's final. If people actually grew the brain cells required to make this blatantly obvious assumption, we wouldn't have crap like Telltale games be officialy claimed as 'games'. (As far as I'm concerned, no actual game player will address their interactive movies as a game.)
You forgot the game Cuphead! I was playing Cuphead with my friend, it took us an hour to defeat the root pack on simple mode. And IT DOESNT LET U GET THE CONTRACTS UNLESS UR ON ANYTHING OTHER THAN *EASY MODE!* >;(
Why do some game developers lock out some content if you play it on easy? Its called replayability and challenge. You aren't entitled to having a good time in every video game. You have to earn it. So, in summery........git gud scrub.
