I recently found this channel after I discovered that my roommates used to play dnd(they haven’t played in like 6 months I guess). And I asked if they wanted to start a new campaign with me and they said yes and now I’m super excited! I’ve never played before and they said it’s gonna be an evil campaign because then it would be new for everyone. We’re still figuring it all out and making our characters right now, but I’m so excited!!! 😄😄
I gave up on the first campaign because I wanted to watch a story from start to finish, but they were already level 9. I loved what I saw, it got me hooked for a while, so I just decided to watch this campaign and maybe go back to the first one after it.
Still, you guys are awesome and really got me into D&D, thank you so much!
I JUST discovered this ...
Season II, was December 2018?
3.5 to 4.5 hours PER Episode???
Me: DM, I'll attack the Tarasque
DM: You'll attack the Tarasque, are you sure?
Me: I have a FAR better chance of killing the Tarasque, then catching up to Critical Roll.
i wish i had friends to play this with :/ It sucks i don't even know how to play either, it seems to hard for my little mind to comprehend. I wonder if they would ever do a cyber punk campaign in the future, i mean 2020 because 2077 game one day will come out lol
Can't you arrange the view so it appears everyone is looking to the gm( like screen-placement).. I know it's nitpicking but it'd make it more enjoyable to watch if u can see who's watching who. (Well you can, it just takes some mental-processing, since it feels kinda unnatural)
Probably because her character is butch, something you will be reminded of constantly in further episodes. :) But seriously yeah it does start to grate after a while. Beau does sort of "mellow out" a little by episode 25 or so from "I will kill you for looking at me funny" to more a "I will try to not kill you for stepping on my foot" sort of level.
God... I freaking love this. I already made a character for this called Henry Seacrest. A red skinned teethling rogue with a thick Irish accent. He uses a Gladius sword named in Gaelic the sword of "Devine light tranquility"
I’m 23 and I’ve been playing ttrpg’s since my brother introduced me to Star Wars RPG (saga edition) when I was 16. I’ve basically always been a dm (though i love playing) but I never knew how to be a good dm at all. Hearing someone say what to do was never enough and I never knew what to show new people to help them understand how to play and how much freedom they really have. With all that out of the way let me just say to you, the members of critical role, thank you for giving me something to see and show as the best case scenario for how a game runs
: You step through the door
: You approach this beautiful door, with gold inlaid carvings of what seems to be religious divine text and runes outlined through the door itself. You grasp the handle, made of pure gold, ornately designed to look like a serpent of some sort. It is finely detailed down to each and every scale on it's body and even the snake-like forked tongue seems to be hand crafted. You turn the handle and as you step through you are basked in darkness, only illuminated by the moonlight piercing through the night and the faint shimmering of a far-away torch down this dark corridor.
I wanted to be as good as you, but when I try to get into the character and play it I can not act naturally. I'm so ashamed of people laughing at my face that I end up not giving everything I have to offer :(
I can understand English but I do not completely master it, so I used google translator.
*spoilers for the rest of the campaign, up to episode 36*
Whats funny is that at 53:20, Mollys fake prediction was true. Jester had already found the clue she was looking for, because Beau was the one that lead to finding Jesters father.
Fun question for commentaries, what class/character would you prefer to play during this campaign? Would you want to part of one of the wandering groups or be part of the circus group? How would you have reacted/acted during and after the attack? And what would you have done when what’s her name ran off when she tricked the guard?
