I'm making a beautiful pixel art game called "Player Back To Earth". The concept is, you have to build a huge tower to get back to Earth, and get through 5 atmospheres of different difficulty. Every atmosphere you pass, a boss will spawn. Its difficulty will depend on the atmosphere. There are going to be hundreds of different weapons, armors, decorations and enemies. Once you get back to Earth, you unlock Hero Mode. Then you can play through the game with enemies and bosses 2 times as hard, but with better weapon and armor drops! :)
Check out Arcane. It's really hard to find gameplay of it, but here's a link to a video with the game just check the description and you'll find the time of the game showcase thingy: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=25vnsc9hQuM&index=2&list=PLiAJxKwIkkh7WqCDCnUa7B84c9KFuSmg0
Some of the games on this list had came out and were made by 1 person or just a few with freelancers "Hyper Light Drifter". Check out "Game Maker" it is a program used to make games easily without programming knowledge even.
Hey everyone (and Skylet).
If you are all interested in a new 16bit styled Pixel Art retro platformer please check out Mythic Draconis. I just put up the pre-alpha trailer for it on my channel. We are very proud of our work so far and hope you like what you see.
Again it is still only a pre-alpha version at the moment with limited resources and trial licensing on the program used to make it, so you can expect some cool awesomeness and a lot more going into the final release of the game :)
I am trying to get some attention to the game at the moment and trying to gather an audience to lead up to launching a small crowdfunding campaign to be able to complete it.
Hopefully with the help of the gaming community, this summer we could be slaying dragons, demons, the dead, and more, in pixel art fashion with Mythic Draconis. Not adding links so as not to get marked as spam. You can find it by clicking me and viola, its right there ;)
I literally had no other way to go about this so shameless promotion was the option as it is hard to get noticed without funds for advertising. Hence I am going ahead and reaching out to you all through YouTube videos so again I hope you all like what you see.
Personally I would put Duelyst on a Nr 3 spot or higher, since that game has the best tactical gameplay I've ever seen, every single spell, monster, faction and hero is Unique not only in their looks but in abilities too, and that lets us do a highly strategic games that are super fun because of that.
Anyways a good top 10.
though one problem I have with death's gambit right now is it seems there are two different pixel artists with different art styles that slightly contrast eachother, some of the pixel art has a lot of detail and shading while other pixel art is a little bland and I think that is going to slightly ruin the whole ambiance in the game
Holy hell thank you so much for this vid! I fell head over heels in love with Hyper Light, and Souls are probably my top games of all time. You listed at least 4-6 games here that made my toes curl with excitement, instantly went on steam to buy/wishlist them. Thanks again, would have never known about them if it wasn't for you.
"Ok, take Dark Souls and Shadow of Colossus and make 'em 2D!"
No, you cad! Take Symphony of the Night--the progenitor of both those game--and try to capture the same spirit to entice fans that don't know their history. Pay attention.
Well, the creator of the game I was talking about literally stated Dark Souls and Shadow of the Colossus as inspiration. Also, nothing wrong with calling a game Soulsian even if there is historically other games that have similar features because Dark Souls is the defining game of the combined aesthetic and mechanics as elucidated by this video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iaJb5juMiNY
